Erick Excellent view in the car park with a quiet trail worth walking. There are tadpoles in the pond in December and lush greenery year round. Olinda Tea House is also right around the corner if your feeling hungry.

Mandie L. I visited this arboretum in autumn, and it was absolutely beautiful. The red leaves peeking through the tips of the conifer trees created such a stunning contrast — it looked like something out of a painting. This place is so serene, making it a perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature. What made the visit even more special was that my friends got engaged here. The setting was so picturesque, and their photos turned out gorgeous.

Maria Ngo What a beautiful area with walking trails. Took us 2.5 hours on the short trail around the park - thats because we stopped a lot to take photos and have lunch. If you just walk you can do this in about 1.5hrs. its so serene and peaceful here. It wasnt busy this cool Tuesday morning. Some scenic spots along this trail. Would look magnificent during the peak of autumn with the deciduous leaves turning golden orange and red. There is a toilet block near the carpark.

Sen Sen The real Christmas tree is on high :) Picnic is allowed and plenty parking area. Walk down next to the trees for national park views.

Ruwi MK Lovely place! It’s actually called “great gardens of Dandenong”!! Very scenic. On a clear day you can see the view of the skies, mountains and the city. Great place for family photographs. For wedding photographers you got to take permission. There are trails if you’ll like you explore the area. Parking is available

Dara such a gorgeous location! the view from the parking area is stunning but we also walked down lyre bird track and actually saw one! some big green open spaces perfect for dogs or a picnic.

pallavi dafda If you love sitting in nature surrounded by a soft mist and calm, peaceful vibes, you must visit this place. Woolrich Lookout is perfect for anyone who enjoys quiet moments, fresh air, and beautiful views. The best time to visit is when theres a light mist in the air and a gentle winter chill, it adds a magical touch to the whole experience. It truly feels like a peaceful escape from the busy world.

Viktor Nagy Nice little village by the mountain. If you ever come near to this area make sure to visit this community, it is a truly heart warming experience. Shops, restaurants, coffees, and very kind people live here, at the heart of mountain area. Truly-truly amazing place. Never miss! If I would ever had to live nearby this would be the prefect place for me. So natural, so green and calm. Amazing

Monica (Hulu) We are a bit late for red.leaves this year, not much left. But its good for a quiet walk. We only see another three people while we were in the garden. Not baby pram friendly cause the land is quite steep, with stairs. Maybe good for kids above six so they walk no problem with slope.
4 /5
Trinh Huynh We walked from bottom then explored other parts of the garden, as per video. A beautiful Autumn stroll, slightly steep in some areas.
4 /5
Anne C Absolutely stunning gardens. A must-see in Autumn for the colourful leaves. Quite steep in some places and can be a bit slippery underfoot at damp areas, so wear sturdy footwear. Its quieter than the nearby Botanic Gardens, but it still gets quite busy. Its best to go when it opens to ensure a parking spot, as it fills up quickly and a bit of a squeeze to get in and out of the car park.
5 /5
Anita Harris Thoroughly beautiful, particularly in Autumn. A variety of trails head down, up and around the park (be prepared for a moderate uphill walk to return to the carpark) and it is all beautiful. In fact a few spots are simply stunning. Paths and occasional stairs were in good condition when I visited, and there was some terrific fungi here and there. There are toilets (including a disabled toilet), a medium sized gravel carpark and a small gazebo. If there hasnt been too much rain, the ground toward the top may be nice for a picnic, and there is a picnic table near the entry point.

Eugene Tan Found the walking track by accident. Had an hour to kill and decided to try this track. Narrow track through the woods that follows the creek in a valley. Lots of birds around and the sound of the creek. Small natural spring at this picnic ground is beautiful to drink from. Only downside are the sounds of traffic from the nearby road and parts of the track haven’t been well maintained.

Shmuel This is a really beautiful place with walking and hiking trails. Natural spring with crystal clear fresh water, creek and stream. its a really lovely and beautiful place, fresh air and open space. My family has been coming here ritualistically since I was a kid.
5 /5
Stuart Coghill An absolutely stunning strip reserve following Sassafras Creek. Lovely big area of grass to picnic with your kids. Excellent forest walks that follow the creek. Excellent variety of fung.
5 /5
Tori Cat Great spot for a dip in the creek on q hot summer day next! One of my favourite places in the Hills. I grew up across the road from here and revisted this week and its still just as lovely! The fresh water spring is still flowing and has been well taken care of (and if you visit make sure to bring an empty bottle! I hope you treat it with the same respect as others) please respect the nature and leave only footprints and memories!

Derek Rylah Kays Picnic Ground is one of several areas to stop along the Sassafras Creek between Kallista and Monbulk. Kays has parking for about 10 vehicles at best and can get a little crowded on sunny weekends. Kays has the advantage of a reasonable sized grassy area adjacent to the carpark for your picnic or throwing the Frisbee. Two fixed picnic tables with a third on the other side of the parking area. The path upstream towards Kallista is quite overgrown and narrow in parts.

Kerrie Bennett My mum and I experienced a very rude and unpleasant salesperson in this Shop today. I recently purchased a $616.00 ring from a lovely sales lady in this shop so I was looking forward to taking Mum there hoping I may find her a Christmas present. The sales lady there today was disinterested, unhelpful and very rude. And whatever you do don’t ask about Olinda Cafe closing down. Talk about responding in an arrogant and rude manner. Lady, all you had to say is, you don’t know why. Learn some people skills! The reason the Cafe closed is on Olinda Cafes Facebook page anyway. Mum and I both left vowing never to set foot in that Shop again. Bad move lady!

Dee Unique, local handcrafted treasures are found here. And Vicki was so lovely! I visited most shops in Olinda and Sassafras and this store remains the best!

Lynne Herbert I appreciated the help and assistance that both the owner and staff member gave me when trying to buy a gift recently, Nothing was too much trouble and they were very patient when it was hard to decide between so many wonderful options. Thankyou.

Damian willmott It was a nice hike but boring loved the rain forest elements but it was kind of dissapointing. Possum track is not marked be careful check you map regurlay

Day-Lewis Tim (spiiro) Great walks. Nice picnic area
4 /5
Callum Scott Lovely forest walk, saw lots of kookaburras and crimson rosellas at Valley picnic ground and some other cute birds on the walk
5 /5
Craig Middleton Very nice walk amongst the ferns & mountain ash trees. Terrible signage, you need to follow the Bounty Trak (not Rd!) to get to the loop track. The Eagle nest is very underwhelming, just a small picnic area with 1 bbq.

Amila Valentina Kaye The main olinda hiking track is currently closed off due to repairs. However the cascade track is open and it is a beautiful hike to walk with the water streaming sounds to your right if walking from main carpark. The track leads to an open road. I didnt walk past that. I turned around and walked back.
5 /5
Burke Brandon Beautiful and serene, but the main track and falls had the peace shattered by international tourists, and people with dogs. The path following the creek back up to the road was much nicer, and easier to walk than the slippery, steep main track.
4 /5
Carmi gazit nice little waterfall. we were there early on Sunday 9:30am and very few people were there. it rained the day before and the falls had plenty water. easy 300m path to the falls, but there are plenty of other walks near the falls of different lengths. restroom was closed
5 /5
Kevin S Great nature walk within a beautiful environment. The falls had limited access due to storm damage, but a bit of creative hiking can get you around. Nice small creek falls to explore with the kids.
4 /5
Jamie Hay Possibly the most litter strewn walking path Ive ever been on. All Australians should feel some anger, embarrassment and shame that a walking path in a national park should be so covered in litter. A disgrace. I wish I could have told off the culprits. Sadly, this 300 mètres of garbage will be what I remember. The falls themselves are pretty underwhelming. Each photo is a different spot on the path. From car park to viewing platform. Rubbish.

Rebecca Infanti Walk to lower falls is closed due to track and platform disrepair. Upper falls walk is nice but repairing the access to the lower falls would restore this walk to its former beauty and enjoyment.
