Jacqueline Heil I recently found Red Door Salon after an extensive search for a new stylist closer to my home and reasonably priced. Red Door had great reviews online and a great onboarding experience. The Owner Lindsay even personally reached out to me via text before my appointment. I feel so blessed to have found Lindsay and this jewel box of a salon with a great community vibe, laughter and a beautiful private outdoor space to hang while hair color is processing. Its a little oasis! My hair looks and feels better than it has in 3 years, just after my second appointment. Lucky me!

Susan Cameron Heather C. has been an absolute gem to find in Alpine! She is attentive to detail, thorough, and a “say less” visionary. The shop is perfect size, comfortable, and relaxed. It’s been the best experience with her!

Chesney Ballantyne Lindsay did my hair for a wedding I was in as a bridesmaid. She was a great communicator and was open to me sharing my vision with her in preparation of the appointment and then took it and ran. The day of the event, she heard my concerns (I’m a curly hair girl with long, thick hair) and parameters. I was going to be dancing hard at the wedding and needed all my heavy hair to stay in place. As she styled my hair she checked in with me on my preference such as hair height (go big or go home baby!) and how it felt as far as being secured, too tight or too loose. Her bubbly personality made the whole experience feel like I was just hanging out with the girls. The hair turned out looking great! (I did a faux hawk bubble pony tail up do thing). It stayed all night and even looked pretty good after sleeping on it! Can’t wait for my next event to see what great styles Lindsay can do with my hair!

K Free My daughter has been going to Amanda for a few years now to color her hair. Amanda is the BEST. My daughter has social anxiety, and she makes her feel comfortable. Aside from Amanda being a kind person, her haircolor turns out great every time. My daughter gets multiple compliments on her hair whenever we go out. At a recent appointment, Amanda noticed that the haircut my daughter got from someone else was unbalanced, and she asked if she could help fix it. By the time Amanda finished fixing the haircut, my daughter was smiling from ear to ear. She had been trying to explain to the other stylist what she didnt like about the haircut, but all they did was cut it shorter. Amanda instinctively knew how to improve the cut and gave my daughter exactly what she was hoping for, an edgy, beautiful cut. I 100% recommend making an appointment at Red Door with Amanda. You wont be disappointed.

Christine Morales I absolutely love this salon!Heather C. makes my hair look amazing after each visit. The salon itself is adorable with an outside sitting area and a fresh looking interior. Kristopher Ghandour 10/10! After checking out some other barbers in Alpine, I realized I wanted someone who could actually style my hair instead of just giving me a buzz cut. I decided to book an appointment with Saida, and I’m so glad I did. I called last minute, and she still made time for me. I showed her a couple of pictures for inspiration, and instead of just copying them, she took the time to explain what would work best with my hairline. The cut turned out amazing! If you’re looking for someone who actually knows what they’re doing and doesn’t rush through your haircut, Saida is the one to go to. I’ll definitely be back.

rose Grady Haley is amazing! The whole experience is so relaxing and wonderful. So far I’ve had 2 different facials and a lash lift and tint. My lashes look beautiful. All of the products she uses for the facials feel and smell so good. In the past I didn’t keep up with this type of self care, but now I look forward to it!

Mollie Jacques I had the most fabulous Facial with Haley. She is professional, completely knows her products and what to use for your particular preferences. She gives the best massage to you hands, arms, neck and shoulders. I could go there everyday. My face and skin felt like she took years off my aged body. She has great hands, very gentle, but firm on the massage. I wont be going anywhere else but to Haley. If you want the best facial... book an appt, youll be hooked with Haley!!

Kirkwood Suzie Haley is very professional and passionate about her work. I had double facial treatments, including a lifing mask that helped minimize the wrinkles I was concerned about around my mouth area. I also had brow waxing and tinting. I love the shape of my new brows! Although the tint was a little darker than expected, it is fading to a nice shade as Haley predicted. Im looking forward to my next visit to Haleys lounge!

Melanie Zardeneta Haley was awesome! I had a deep cleaning facial and brow waxing. She did a great job. Her small private treatment room was immaculate. It was peaceful. Nicely decorated and organized. There were no other people in or out or any other interruptions. I booked my next appt before I even left!

Random Thing I have curly hair and other salons always treat my hair poorly or very rough with it, but this salon was very nice and gentle! She took good care of my hair and didnt yank on it at all!! I would definitely come here again, very friendly and clean environment :D!!

Susan Reeves Was my first time there, as my stylist, Amanda Monette had transferred from another salon. Shop is very quaint, modern and decorated really darling in Shabby Sheek. Outside parking is very convenient, easy access on and off freeway. Comfortable chairs and relaxing wash sinks that tilt for client comfort. Maintained well, clean, light and bright too. Very welcoming, all stylists are friendly and there is a good relaxing vibe among them. Of course LOVE my stylist, Amanda, she is the best ever. Professional, creative, talented and loads of fun too!

Susan Reeves-Page Amanda is my stylist (for many years), this hair cut appointment she put semi-permanent pink streaks in my hair. Love them! Something new and fun this time! Love salon vibe.

Donald Dawson I am a single dad and I struggle with my daughters hair. I found my daughters hairstylist online and we love the shop. My daughter is very tender headed and her hairstylist Shara has a gentle hand. One of my biggest worries is getting my daughters hair done and it being too tight. Shara has never pulled my daughters hair too tight. If you are looking to find a stylists that will take care of your daughters hair make the trip to Renee’s uptown Salon.

DLJ S Cristina is fantastic! I have been going weekly for wash and blow-dry and several times a year for highlights. She is a master at a true, natural looking blonde color and hides/blends my natural dark blonde color perfectly. The way she blends my own colors allows more time between highlights which is great for my busy schedule and tight pocketbook.

Nicole Empizo We have been coming to Renee’s for 9 years. All of the stylists are friendly and kind. Shara is amazing and spends time making sure my daughters hair is just how she likes it. The salon is clean and inviting - we won’t go anywhere else!

Esther Vineyard I love the vibe at Renee’s Salon. I have been going to Summer for years! I am always impressed with what she can do with my hair. She did my hair for my engagement photos and wedding, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend her!

Ella Meraku If I could give zero stars I would totally do so. I don’t usually post reviews but this one I just had to. So I’m all about supporting local businesses and helping others. My hairstylist canceled last min bc she was sick and I needed to get my roots blonde … I have a party to attend so I called Renee’s Uptown Salon. Luckily they had an opening and took me in. My hairstylist was new and I wasn’t aware of this but I was ok with it at the end because everyone has to have opportunities to learn. She started to bleach my roots which took 6 hours altogether a process that usually takes 2 hours max by my professional hairstylist. I even had to cancel my nail appointment, eyebrow wax and dinner with my boyfriend bc the hair appointment took too long. I got there at 1332 hours and left at 1917 hours. A six hour hair appointment of just bleaching my roots which is insane. When the hairstylist was bleaching my hair you could tell she was extremely inexperienced so I was patient with her on retouching missed spots waiting then retouch again and wait and so on. After she bleached all my roots and washed my hair she began to blow dry. I wash shocked because again she seemed extremely inexperienced on not knowing how to dry or style my hair. I had asked her to make my hair straight. After 1 hour and 20 min of her trying to blow dry my hair, I couldn’t take it so I asked her to give me the blow dryer and I’d dry my own hair in which she complied. I even didn’t want her to feel bad and told her that next time she’ll be a pro. I gave her the hairdryer back and I was waiting for her to straighten my hair but instead she said “alright finally we are done.” I told her that my hair is not straight and you can tell apart my own hair from my extensions. She said it looks fine and that’s how my hair is. So then I had no more patience of waiting around and said “that’s ok how much” she said “220 dollars.” I lost 6 hours of my day canceled my plans, had to dry my hair and style at home and I was charged an amount as if she was a professional. I was shocked! I’m all about helping others gain experience but it should not be at my own expense.I understand 6 hours is a long time but my roots could have been done in less than 2 hours if she knew what she was doing. I lost a lot of hours and canceled plans as well. Obviously I would not be going there again.

Connie Frankie colors my hair in wonderful pastel shades. I just love it. I also get great haircuts. She is very experienced and knows how to work with my naturally curly hair.

Samantha Metzner Both my boyfriend Alex and I feel so lucky to have found Oscars salon. We both have had nothing but positive experiences there. Oscar waited over an hour alone in his shop just so I could get a last minute trim before attending a wedding, and despite claiming a lack of expertise in mens fades, hes consistently given Alex the best, most sophisticated looking haircuts! The place is also well taken care of, and they even have a nail salon and skin care treatment services which I look forward to trying out. I truly never leave reviews, but I felt it was necessary to support the few exceptional local businesses and authentic, passionate people that are still around today. I highly recommend this salon!

Wendy Zamora I have been twice and I love it!! Tiffany is the best! She listens. In the past, I rarely went for a haircut. I always hated my cut and usually wasnt what I asked for. Shane Snyder I have been getting my haircut the same way for almost my entire life. Ive moved over 80 times so I always have to use a new haircut person. I never have a good experience and they always do it wrong. I always end up going home and shaving it all off. For years I decided I would never get a haircut again. I decided to take a chance at getting a haircut again and came into Reflections. Dawn and Myrna were so nice and stayed open late for me since I got there just before they were closing. They actually have the lost art of "customer service" that everyone seems to have forgotten. Dawn started cutting my hair after I gave her the same instructions I have given to everyone else and before she was even halfway done, I knew she was good and that it was going to go well. Seriously, I have had my hair cut correctly maybe 3 times in my whole life and Dawn did it PERFECTLY. I will never go to any other person for a haircut. I cannot recommend this place enough for their customer service/attitude, the prices ($15!) and their skills. This place should be rated way higher.

Samantha I have been looking for a new salon since the place I had been going to since I was a child closed during COVID. I am so glad to have found this place! I had Dawn give me a trim and she was very attentive about what I wanted and was extra careful before she went ahead and chopped off 6" of hair to make sure that was what I wanted. Myrna is a crack-up too. I appreciate that these ladies are happy to let you sit quietly and zone out. They chat as much or as little as you like. Prices seem fair. My cut was $30.

Chelsea Welch I got my hair cut today with Lee, and it was a wonderful experience. She worked efficiently and chatted while she was working. Overall, the entire atmosphere there was friendly and welcoming.

Allie Morrison I freaking love this place!!! Top-notch services provided by top-notch humans plus a female-owned community-centered local business. My first introduction to JS Collectiv was when I booked an appointment for lash extensions with Jen. Her lashes are well applied and look incredibly natural. Plus, if you are going to lay down for hours its a HUGE bonus to do so with a lash technician that is fun to talk to and easy to spend time with. Their pricing is extremely competitive and their quality cant be beat. Jen also does hair, and is a color magician! I love seeing her happy clients with beautiful hair leaving the salon. My next interaction with JS Collectiv was when I booked a PMU appointment with Shannara for eyebrows. I walked in thinking I wanted "combo" brows and after talking my goals over with Shannara she convinced me to go with powder brows instead. IM OBSESSED. I love my brows so much I booked an appointment for my mother, and also talked my two best friends into getting theirs done. The process is virtually painless, and the result looks very natural. With my brows done, I use a lot less makeup and Ive started the process of doing facials with Shannara and using DMK products to clarify my skin so that I feel and look great leaving the house with nothing more than sunscreen and chapstick on my face.

Maya and James Sangunitto Ive been going to Roberts Haircut and Shave for two years now, and I cant recommend it enough. The barbers here are amazing, especially with straight razor shaves. Every time I get one, I leave feeling fantastic. Their attention to detail is top-notch. Whether its cleaning up my beard or shaping my mustache, they always make sure everything looks perfect. They really listen to what I want and always deliver great results. Their work doesnt irritate my skin. Kris Martinez I have never written a review but I felt it necessary to write this one. I have very curly hair and until today I thought Id never be able to find a place that could give me a cut without messing it up and at a reasonable price. I walked in without an appointment and was welcomed immediately, the staff was amazing, very friendly and happy to see a customer (unusual in my experience). I apologize I do not recall the hair dressers name, however the cut I asked for was even better than I could have hoped for. When I got home my boyfriend immediately commented on how good my hair looked.

Ian Lewis Went in for my first time, to see Dexter. My wife saw an ad for him on Facebook and took my two boys to get cuts on a Saturday. One kid has curly hair, the other has straight hair. And both looked great afterwards. So I made an appointment the following day on Sunday. Online it says they are closed, but hes the only one that comes in. I was his first appointment at 11. So there was no wait, and no place full of other people waiting and getting their hair done. Which is how I like it. He did a great job. Ive been looking for a new barber to consistently go to since covid, and my last barber moved. Im happy with how it turned out, so I may stick with Dexter.

She told me her stylist was Sue at Supercuts in Alpine. I was genuinely surprised; I always thought Supercuts specialized in men’s cuts, but boy, was I wrong! After hearing my friend rave about Sue, calling her the best colorist shes ever had, I decided to give it a try. Now, my daughter and I are loyal clients, even driving a half hour to see her. It’s worth every mile! My hair has never looked better—it’s never brassy or orange, always fabulous. Scheduling with Sue is a breeze, too. Just yesterday, I called to see if she could fit me in today, and here I am, typing this while under the dryer! I live a busy life and love the flexibility she offers with appointments.
