Jill Stanfield I was in South Lake Tahoe over the weekend and a friend took me to Hair at the Lake on Saturday to update my style. Karla asked me what I wanted for my cut and color. She more than delivered, the color is vibrant and in the sun it sparkles. The new hair style I asked for was shorter and took my hair away from my face and gave me bangs. When she turned me toward the mirror when she was done I was so pleased, this is the first time I have LOVED my hair cut and the color added depth. I would recommend Karla to anyone. she is 3 hours away from home but I will be back to see her soon. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hair stylist

Mason Balison Me and my girlfriend got our hair cut here and Karla is absolutely amazing! She’s very kind and a great hair stylist! She’s been cutting hair since the 80s. She’s so good with hair she can even cut it dry which is difficult for most stylists. I have found my new permanent hair salon and couldn’t be happier with Karla’s work.

The gorgeous Karla not only has the skills to produce beautiful results, she is a master of really listening to her customer to know what they want. She has, on many occasions, taken my hair from the "soccer mom" look to one that radiates class and sassy with the colors to match. My only regret is that I dont live in Tahoe but she is my first stop whenever I get there. I cannot recommend her enough!

John Dovala Just by walking into the salon shows you Rochelle has an excellent sense of design--color, light, form, shape, etc. Her sense of design clearly informs her skills as a stylist. She is excellent. Top tier.

Georgianna Shea The warmth of this cute salon is only matched by its owner, Rochelle. She was so welcoming and took the time to talk with me about my color needs, assuring we were on the same page and had a strategy for not only this appointment but moving forward. My full highlights are GORGEOUS! Of special note: I am gone for most of the winter and Rochelle offered to give me the color formula she used on me so that another stylist could match it. I don’t know of many stylists who would do that!! Many may remember this salon when it was the old Tahoe Hair Company and miss that salon. Change is hard. But trust me on this one, the change is very, very good!!

Kathy Crane Rochelle does a fantastic job! Im so happy to have found her....TBH....my husband was the one who found her. Rochelle cuts his hair also. The cut she gives me looks great for at least as long as the time between appts and the color is perfect.

Jessica Wilcox Rochelle is fantastic! I found her a few months back when looking for someone in town to do highlights and extensions. She took her time during consultation to decided what kind of extensions would work best. I love how she installs my extensions and my color is spot on every time, I usually don’t even watch her doing my hair like I used to do with others, because she knows what she’s doing. Been back several times and wouldn’t trust anyone else in town. Prices are more than reasonable and she’s really flexible when it comes to scheduling, much appreciated.

She not only is knowledgeable, Fair with her prices but also, shes just a wonderful person and I always extremely look forward to getting my hair done and having a little girl time. She is also extremely versatile with many different types of extensions and knowing what extension type is best for each individual person. I have no plans to look for a hairdresser, pretty much ever again. I can honestly say Julie Collins is a hair genius. I can say with certainty, when it comes to South Lake Tahoe, California, the standards are always high and there is quite a bit of competition. So, for the fact that Julie has her own shop and doesnt have to work underneath anyone, let alone has the steady clientele of her own, speaks volumes. Truly I am blessed at finding such an amazing girl to do my hair.

Terra Hurst Julie has been doing my hair for 4 years now. I have extensions and color regularly. I have gone to many hair dressers for extensions and Julie is hands down the very best by far. She is extremely fast and my extensions stay in for months. I very rarely lose any. She also has done my hair and make up for special events. I have had Julie try so many different things and she’s always willing no matter what my request is, she does an amazing job every time. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, hardest working humans I have ever met. I consider her family. Not only is she my hairdresser, she is also my therapist.

Lake Tahoe Pontoons Best place to get a haircut in Lake Tahoe. Ive been here for decades and hands-down Best barber Ive ever had. Beau has been doing this for decades and it shows. Friendly serviceable and always ready to cut however, you ask. Of course, Ive liked the cut that he gives me for years so I just say the usual.

Brittany Streeto Kristy is the best I’ve encountered!!! I’m here for the summer all stressed without my normal stylist. I went to call Kristy and she immediately text me within seconds and was able to see me right away. She put in my extensions better than anyone has ever done prior. She trimmed and toned my hair to perfection. Her prices are lower than any place I’ve ever come across and her knowledge, expertise, passion and amazing personality make the experience on another level! If I lived in Tahoe permanently she would be my stylist for life!!!!

Andrea Dannehl Ember is absolutely amazing. I went to see her for a Thai yoga massage (My first ever) after experiencing major neck pain. I went in with little mobility and left feeling like a whole new person. Her space is beautiful, calm and welcoming. And her energy is equally calm and welcoming. I will definitely be returning and also telling the world about Ember’s magic hands!

Krista Forste I just got a hair cut from Ember for the first time and she was amazing! She paid special attention to my requests and listened to my wants and truly supplied the haircut I asked for. She was super understanding and patient with me, I’ve never enjoyed a haircut more. I definitely recommend her!

Sam Penfield I moved from NYC and am so lucky to have found Ember, owner of Luna Studios. I have bleached dreads so my hair can be complicated to work on. Ember not only was able to easily work on my hair but introduced me to new techniques that has made my hair my healthy and looking better! Ember is a real sweetheart: flexible, professional and an absolute artist. I cannot recommend her more highly!

Brandy Posada Had a wonderful experience with Ember. I scheduled an appointment for a hair conditioning treatment and haircut. As I have wavy and frizzy hair, I usually dread getting my hair cut and styled. I discussed my concerns and wants with my hair and Ember was very receptive. I felt comfortable and enjoyed my experience at Ritual. She really is talented! I would recommend to anyone looking for a hairstylist with years of experience.

Mitchel Soliman I’d like to start this review off saying that I appreciated Ember seeing me last minute and taking me after hours… however the service I received was beyond terrible. This lady cannot do braids. She charged me $160 for an hours worth of work only for the braids to come out 2 hours later… I politely asked for a partial refund as I was appreciative of her time however she was extremely rude back blaming me for the quality of my braids? Then I asked for a full refund of which she refused and then stop responding to me. Very unprofessional. Do not see Ember for braids she has no idea what she is doing. She claimed my hair isn’t long enough yet I get my hair braided 3-4 times a year with no problem. On top of that I’ve never paid more than $50-60 for braids. $20 per braid is RIDICULOUS especially for someone who clearly cannot braid. And then also blaming it on me not wanting products in my hair? I’ve never needed gel for my braids before. Again you clearly lack the skills and should not offer braids as a service. I am still waiting for my refund…

Not only was she amazing at getting me ready for my big day, but she was an amazing person even helping me get into my dress.!! I highly recommend her if you are looking for someone to do your hair and make up in Southlake Tahoe for your big day!!

Brandi Deuel Sonia did an absolutely wonderful job! The makeup was flawless and so light that it felt like I was wearing nothing. I showed her a couple of pictures of how I wanted my hair and it came out perfect! Both stayed in place the entire day and night. She is super sweet, professional, and I would hire her for every special occasion if I could!

Kaitlyn Carter Sonia is absolute gem! Unlike most brides, I was coming from out of state so I couldnt do a bridal tutorial before my big day. I was also doing a sunrise wedding! I told Sonia what my vision was for my hair and make up. She communicated with me over several months leading up to my wedding. She made the entire process less stressful. And she exceeded all my expectations! She made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. I highly recommend Sonia to every Bride making the trip to Tahoe! I loved getting to know her both on a professional and personal level.

Julie Singer Sonia did an incredible job with my hair and makeup. My hair is a bit shorter than chin-length so its not always easy to pull off fantastic curls to go with a flower crown. My chest has a lot of redness from blood vessels dilation and she seamlessly blended that so that from the top of my dress to my hairline had a flawless, even look. She came to my hotel room and was able to get everything done in the exact 2 hour window that she quoted. She even did so on her birthday! I cannot recommend her enough.
