Miki Major communication problem. I asked what are “healthy nails” or “delux nails” on the touch panel upon checking in, the lady told me “just pick one” without any explanation. The nail technician was surly… I asked if she was going to take care of cuticles, she said “yes manicure” so I gave up (she did take care of cuticles quickly after nail polish was all done) I liked how nails came out, but the service was not match to other places I’ve even to to say the least. So no repeat. I usually leave 20% tip but not this time

Daisy Surprenant I have gone twice in less than a week in a half. (Paid both times). First time I did a french tip gel manicure and within a few days I had some of tips coming off. I went in within the same week and did not get them corrected, but rather paid $25 this time to get them redone. Went with a basic clear color with glitter to avoid the gel coming off so quick. Guess what??! It’s only been 3 days and again it’s coming off.

X Joseph (Joe) was fully intending to leave a five-star review, as the pedicure started off great. However, the experience with the manicure was completely out of line and unprofessional. I highly recommend that anyone visiting this salon ask for pricing upfront to avoid surprises. The pedicure itself was excellent—almost an hour of service for $65, plus I tipped an additional $20. However, the manicure was disappointing. As a male client, I don’t require nail polish, just a quick buff-in, which was only done on my hands and took about two or three minutes. No cuticle softener was applied, and my cuticles weren’t pushed back, just quickly trimmed. While the massage was nice, it felt odd that the same foot cream I had already paid for was used on my hands. To make matters worse, the manicure was performed by the owner, who was also my cashier. I was initially charged $65 for the manicure (25 mins of labor/ service), but when I questioned it, the price was suddenly reduced to $55. Transparency and honesty with clients should be a top priority, rather than making them feel taken advantage of. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Niki Anstrand I am so glad Alebrijes is so close to my home. I have been coming here for almost two years now, and Sandra does an absolutely amazing job on my nails every single time (I have gotten sculpture gel and acrylic nails with gel polish, both shiny and matte styles in a variety of colors). I have also gotten pedicures from multiple women who work here and my toes always come out amazing, and everyone who works here has been really kind and welcoming to me. I even recently brought one of my best friends who was visiting from Florida to come get a pedicure with me from Alebrijes, and not only did she love how her pedicure came out, but she also said the salon was the most beautiful nail salon she had ever been in, which I absolutely agree with. You can definitely tell that all the women who work at Alebrijes take a lot of pride in their work, and the beauty, cleanliness and atmosphere of the salon. I was surprised tonight to see that there are some negative reviews on here from people saying that there was no parking or that they didnt like that the salon is appointment only. I come here every two weeks, and my appointments have been all different days of the week and times of day, and there is always parking right around the corner at Santa Venetia park, I have literally never had a single issue finding basically half the parking lot open there. Of course, if youre only looking to park in the spaces right in front of the salon youll have an issue, because those spots are notoriously always taken, but the park I park at is only a minute and a half walk from the salon, is free and always has spots so I always go straight there. I have also always had a good experience with their online booking, it is super easy to add services or guests, but I do make sure to try to book ahead for my fills because they are very popular and its important to book ahead of time if you have a busy schedule. The fact that they are appointment-only is a good sign to me, because they provide high-quality service and therefore are busy because they are in high demand. Also, their sugar scrub that they give you to wash your hands with after a manicure smells AMAZING, I always leave Alebrijes super happy and relaxed. I very highly recommend this salon and will continue to be a customer and bring my friends for spa days for as long as I live in the area.

Mariko Ladrillono I had my eyelash permed(lifted) and it was one of the worst ones Ive had. I asked for natural curls (thats what the girl recommended to me too) but I ended up having my eyelashes curled almost 90 degrees. I waited to see if the curls soften as time passed but no, they were damaged. Some of my lashes were curled so awkwardly that they started poking my eyes. I even had to pull some out myself. Im so disappointed by the result and upset that I have to deal with this until my lashes fall off. *You can see in the picture how my lashes were permed. They were definitely not NATURALLY curled.

Niki A. I was looking for a new nail place since moving to the area and I am so glad I found Alebrijes! Sandra did a beautiful job on my nails (sculpture gel/hard gel fill manicure) and she was really careful about asking me if I had any discomfort throughout the process and making sure I was comfortable. She also did a beautiful job on the shape of my nails (I like almond shape), and made sure I liked the shape before applying color (which I did because she did a fantastic job). I love that they give you a sugar scrub for your hands after the manicure as well. The pedicure was amazing, and Jessica asked me if I wanted the sugar scrub added which I did. I definitely recommend the sugar scrub because it was amazing and smelled really nice. She was meticulous and did an amazing job of making my toes look beautiful. The inside of the shop was bright and clean and welcoming. I will definitely be going back as a regular in the future! Bonus: it is right next to a Taco Shop!

Angela Garcia Got a gift certificate from my sister in law to this spa. I tried to make an appointment on line but it wouldnt go through. So I called and made an appointment. My technician was very quite, not really talkative. Very clean, nice facility. I had a gel manicure, and spa pedicure. The manicure was beautiful. I didnt really feel I got a good scrub down of my calluses on my feet though. I had ordered the callus remover and she forgot. I reminded her and she turned around and looked at the manager to confirm. After the manger said, yes I had ordered it, then She put the callus remover on my feet and then stuck my feet in the water straight away. I asked if that was going to be effective and she said yes. I was confused because no one had ever done that at any other salon. Besides that, they offered me water or wine, which was nice. The manager was very attentive and kind as well. I liked the way the mani pedi turned out. Very pretty and matched nicely. When I went to pay, the manager didnt know how to apply the gift certificate on their computer system. So it took a while to figure out. I had 18 dollars left over from my certificate, and she just rounded it off to 20 for my next visit. She couldnt reprint the certificate so she just signed my copy with a 20 dollar credit. It was a nice visit over all. As Im leaving my online appointment goes through. Lol. I had to ask her if they were going to charge my card because the appointment had just gone through. She said not to worry about it, if there was any issues to come back and shed resolve it.

Lizette Mathiasen I have been going to Tina for years for services; she is the only one in trust for my ingrown toe nails. Cindy did a great job on my manicure. My nail needs are simple, only mani/pedi, however, I have observed Ivys artistry with more complex nails. They are as beautiful as they are complex and customers are happy with their results.

Brianna Hudson The nail salon was very cute. The lady who did my nails was really nice. I just showed a photo of the nails I wanted and they did them. I love how they came out!!

Marla Arciniega I know that trusting others with clipping my nails is a risk. I know mistakes happen. What I don’t appreciate about this place is that they really tried to make me believe I walked in with a “stubbed toe and broken nail” when really my nail tech made a mistake. She tried to cut straight across rather than realizing I have a curbed nail with curbed tissue. When I realized her mistake we went back and forth for a bit then the manager stepped in to repeat that I had stubbed my toe when clearly you can see the clean cut from the clippers. I liked the place, clean and staff is friendly but I did not appreciate the way they handled this mistake. I’m glad I’m not injured.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The salon is immaculate, beautifully designed, and has a relaxing atmosphere. Martina Trejo All of the reviews are true. One Nail Studio is amazing. Tris did my manicure and pedicure and the quality was worth every penny. I’ve tried a lot of the salons in the Otay Ranch/Eastlake area and haven’t been fully satisfied. That was not the case with Tris. She paid great attention to detail, was gentle while removing my previous gel polish, and checked in throughout my service to make sure I was happy with her work. Not to mention, she’s very friendly and made me feel comfortable. I’m so glad I tried this salon and will definitely be back!

Tara Smith I was very disappointed when I went one week ago had an appointment and Lisa was my nail tech. I could tell her mood was off but I didn’t say anything but hi and let her know what services I would like. I thought everything was good until I asked her to check my ingrowns and she clipped and was pulling them in one pull I was like ok then when it was time to do my wax she went so fast had my big toe out of the bag then insults to injury never painted my third toe on right foot my second toe polish fell off couple days later I drive 1hour and a half to join my son at the salon for relaxing experience. I will not be returning everyone else in the shop has been nice not sure what happened with Lisa on that day Take care all will take my hard earned money elsewhere I was tipping her 15 dollar previous but that day tipped her 8 dollars and wish I would have kept my money

Mariah Leaness No star, she ruined my nails, I went to go get a French tip they literally looked a week old not to mention she loves to make you bleed , I legit will never ever bring my business here neither should you! Over charge you, they aren’t doing things rite there. And they all talk bad about you while you’re trying to relax she is disgusting and then I called to see if she can fix my nails, she said she would charge me. Pathetic. My nails are like 1 day and half old and they legit look like there two weeks old !!!!!!!! I’m upset I spent 56$ on this???? Pcifshit ugliest set I have ever had in my life she is the girl with the long hair , that sits next to the cashier

Judith Gonzales I’ve came here about 3 times and I appreciate the respect they show customers. If I have a question about a color or anything nail related, they have shown courtesy in answering me. There have been other times I’ve tried asking a question at other salons and they just give me a short answer and leave me hanging. Anyways service is great I will definitely continue to come here and recommend it to others. Charlie is the one who this review refers to he’s the only one I’ve received service with.

Undie Undress This is the WORST nail salon I’ve ever been to!!The technician over filed my acrylic nails and my real nails! She made my nail bed flat! The worst experience ever. I had been waiting for my nails to soak in acetone for 30 minutes so obviously I had to ask how long I still needed to wait for. And that’s the only time they thought of attending to me. Then they started speaking to each other in their language - which was so RUDE. The technician was overdoing filing my nails to a point where it was already too hot on my nails it hurt!

Tress I want to say, everyone was very nice. The service provided was done so with the greatest of customer service, and for that I am very pleased. I imagine this is the kind of place a bridal party would go for mimosas, while they get their nails done for a wedding... Since Im not looking to drink while I get my nails done and part of the experience Im looking for is the massage, foot and chair, to top off, the prices are higher than average, I personally wont be returning. The shop looks like it was really nice when it opened. Although, the decor has lost its luster, which seems to be the main appeal after the fact that its an actual bar that serves alcohol. My nails came out fine, no better than anywhere else Ive been, but about 10-15% more expensive. The girl who did my nails was really nice but very light handed. I didnt feel the message, and thats my favorite part. The chairs are oversized and comfortable, but theyre not massage chairs. I ended up going to Happy Head after. Again, I had no issues with the service or any of the people that work there, this place just isnt for me.

Melina Izabella Panagiotou Although my nail tech did an excellent job, my review isn’t for the nail tech nor result. I had booked online with a specific nail tech for a acrylic fill with gel color for $58 (which in my opinion is already pricey but I was prepared to pay it to experience a new salon with possibly a higher quality result) When I sat down, she quoted my nails $70. I was in shock and confused at whether or not she was making a mistake or not. I thought to myself, “maybe this isn’t the nail tech I requested” or “maybe she thinks I have requested a design, hence the extra charge” That was not the case, the reason was because the original nail set was not done by her and it would require “more work”. What is unfair in this experience is I was UNAWARE of how they price when I thought the charge would be $58 as it stated online. I expressed to the nail tech that I still would like to continue being that I arranged and scheduled my time to dedicate that hour to my nails and would not be able to come another time/day. Overall, as I mentioned earlier, she did a great job but the stores policy is not fair. Be aware that the price they state is not always what you will pay for reasons apparently they only know.

Chen Chrissy Rinka “Rinka” Im not from around here; Im here for work. I walked in to make an appointment for a Sunday service for my pedicure and gel manicure. The front desk was very nice, and the receptionists name is Victoria. My manicurist, Anna, was very nice, sweet, and professional. She was also very patient and understanding. My pedicurist, Alan, was gentle with my toe for my ingrown toenail. The whole service here was nice, and I felt comfortable. Ill definitely come back here when I visit San Diego again and strongly recommend Alan and Anna.

Julissa Jonas Terrible customer service. Was shopping while I was trying to pay. Ignored me. Nails were good quality but service is horrible. Also not that I expect special treatment because I’m pregnant but they saw I was pregnant and didn’t bother to help me out of chair or with anything. So rude.

Juana J The spot is clean, it looks a like the have a drink station, (they didn’t offer me anything, not sure if you have to pay extra), and the place is very nice, the staff seems friendly. However, my problem is the my nail tech was trying to rush through my manicure. I asked for a simple manicure with polish. The sides of my nails were not done, the polish didn’t start at the cuticle, not even close on some fingers. I did ask her to go back and fix the sides (I’m one of those ppl who NEVER asks to get my nails fixed but it was just that bad) and also bring the polish closer to the cuticle bc my nails grow really fast and I didn’t want them to look overgrown in just a day or 2. She did what I asked and was friendly about it. It wasn’t until after I left that I noticed my other hand was also not polished precisely. It’s just a bummer bc I wanted to treat myself and I literally could have done a better job at home.

Lakeisha Harris Lynn did an amazing job on my nails. I was skeptical based off of the reviews, but I’m glad I went. I found my new nail tech and salon. The only downfall is they charge $25 to make an appointment (yes the fee goes towards your service). I understand why they do this but if you’re using your credit card there is a 3% fee, and then once you pay after your service there’s another 3% fee. Hence the reason for 4 stars vice 5. Received hard gel over my nails.

Regine Cline This might be my new favorite nail spot! Its very pricey, but youre paying for the experience. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. Total ended up being $124. Wow, ouch. I know! Story time - the Camila pastel candy nail polish (I posted a picture of it) caught my eye when I walked in. So of course, me being me, always extra, doing the most , I wanted the pink bottom right color for Valentines Day. Before they painted my nails, they said it would cost $10 extra. So I ended up going with it because its so cute!! Would I get it again? Probably not. I always like to change it up. Anyways, hanna did my pedicure. I opted for the $49 pedicure experience because treat yoself, am I right ladies? Her massage was great and I loved the products she put on my legs and feet! It had a heavenly eucalyptus smell and my skin was soo soft after. Lynn did my manicure. I normally do acrylic long nails, but Im a mom now. I opted for short gel nails and it turned out super natural and cute. Vibes - 10 out of 10. It was quiet and quaint. The wine was good. And all the employees were super friendly. The smells in there alone made it feel like a spa. Ill probably be back :)

Sofia Eastman My tech Linh did an amazing job! She worked with me to think up a design that was a perfect blend of my ideas and her expertise on what would make the design pop. For me the most important part of a good acrylic set is detailed shaping of the nail and she killed it! I will be back.

Stephanie Cadenas it took almost 3 hours just to get some medium square acrylic French tips. Also had to stay an hour after closing. Once the time came to apply the French tips, the stylist tried to convince me to go with another style. I’m guessing because French tip takes longer. Mind you I had already told the stylist that I wanted French tip since the beginning of the service my nails look like they’re different lengths, they don’t look clean, just overall don’t look good. I had to fix them and file them when I got home myself. My friend however got her nails soaked off, and got a full new set and they finished with her faster then me, and left very happy with her nails. As for me. no.

franzelle macapinlac Alex!!!!! He is the best and never fails! I am extremely pleased with my nails every time I visit! I always bring inspiration for my design, and Alex never fails to execute it perfectly. The attention to detail and the quality of work are consistently top-notch. I also have a pedicure done with each visit. All staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!!

Joselin Reyes I have been coming here to get my pedicures for the better part of about a year. The first few times I went in the service was good. The last few times I have gone in, it had always been one thing or another. The second to last time I came, I asked for a deluxe pedicure and was charged the most expensive one. I paid regardless for the services but was not happy with the miscommunication from the nail tech. She also rubbed my legs so hard with her nails that she left nail marks on my legs. This most recent visit, my husband came with me to get a pedicure. We both received express pedicures. The nail tech who did his pedicure did not ask how much he wanted to cut and left his nails extremely short. He says they hurt when he walks around from how short they are. He was also wincing a lot when his nail tech was removing the skin from the sides of the toes and said it was painful. We are extremely dissatisfied with how they look. I waited for my pedicure as all staff were busy and I didnt mind. What I do mind is being harassed and questioned as to why I am getting an express pedicure and not a deluxe. I was also called cheap when I said I did not want gel polish since I wanted to give my nails a break. They have felt flimsy and thin since most of the time they file the color and dont do a soak off. She also left my nails uneven. We paid for our services and left. We will not be back, and I would recommend you to look somewhere else.

Yadi Yess Ruby was excellent, friendly, funny and did an amazing job. I highly recommend that you stop by. Very friendly group of ladies. I got a mani/pedi and felt so relaxed. The massage chair were awesome and the foot massage was great. I’d definitely go back again. I accidentally bumped one of my freshly painted nail and Ruby was so kind fixed it.

Duyen My Thi Sherman I visit Crystal Nail Lounge every month for a full set and pedicure. This salon is super clean and customer service is excellent. They have a wide variety of drinks too. Valerie Duran They were extremely rude to my friend to the point that she cried. She is one of the sweetest people i know so she did not speak up about it. I have been to this salon myself and have never been satisfied. They overcharge and just provide a fast shitty service but charging as if it was more than what it is. Please do not support this business until they learn that taking care of their customers should be a priority.

ryan san nicolas Came here and had an appointment. I called in advanced to make sure they could accommodate me on my lunch break. I even left work earlier so I had time. The lady on the phone assured me an hour was enough time. I had a gift certificate as well. I come in they seat me right away. The lady was working on my nails when a man told me to go sit in the chair for my pedi. He also said someone will follow me there to finish my nails. I sat there for 15 minutes before anyone attended to me and the lady who was doing my nails started on someone else. It took over an hour for my pedi to be done. I reminded the lady doing my pedicure that I was on my lunch break and that someone needed to come and finish my nails. They start talking but no one ever acknowledges me. There were technicians sitting there on their phones or eating their lunches and it wasn’t even that busy. No one cared enough to finish the job. I ended up giving my gift card to them telling them I don’t even want change and left. Worst service an experience of my life. If I can give zero stars I would. I will never come back here again. The lady who did my nails broke my nail And they still had the nerve to charge me five dollars for them starting my nails and never even finishing. Worst business and I will tell everybody I know never to come here.

She has arthritis and kept telling the tech she was hurting but the tech ignored her and kept pulling her hands back when she tried to pull away. She has very visible scars on her toes from surgeries and told the tech that it was tender, but she kept putting pressure directly on the scars and causing pain. Multiple techs came over to examine her feet and made her extremely uncomfortable. The icing on the cake was when she was charged for placement of HER OWN stickers!! She took her own sheet of stickers in and was charged an extra $1 for each sticker placement!! Thats ridiculous! And on top of that the tech argued and didnt even place them where my daughter asked her. She is literally embarrassed of the way her nails look. Needless to say we will never be back to this place. It is completely unacceptable to disregard a customer telling you that you are CAUSING PAIN! It is completely unacceptable to make a customer feel uncomfortable because everyone wants to examine her scars! Shame on you all! Update: Within 6 hours of getting her powder dip manicure, multiple nails had the powder chipping off. Plus the nails themselves had been filed so thin that the nails were breaking. Within 48 hours all but 2 nails had chipped and broken. She took pictures the day of the service and you could clearly see the places that were scabbing from bleeding during the manicure. She went back to the store to speak with who appears to be the owner or manager of the shop and requested a refund since she will now have to go somewhere else to have her nails repaired. She was told that it was her own fault and that she had probably picked at her nails!! Really?? So you post on here that you want your customers happy and come back to see you to fix it, but then when she comes back you proceed to shame her and argue?? I will be looking to file a report with the cosmetology board or whoever is appropriate because this type of behavior is beyond reprehensible. Im completely appalled.

Elizabeth Cortez I was happy at first, when i got seated only a chair away from my friend, but then the lady that I got was being very harsh with me. I kept trying to pull away as my hand was hurting, but the lady got irritated when I was trying to talk to her about it. Which cause me to get moved to the other side away from my friend who helps me feel better as i have social anxiety. But I wasnt mad I thought its fine I must be switching to a sweet lady who will probably more gental with me, wrong. The lady cut me 6 times and whenever there was a slight chance of me pulling away she would hold on tight and told me to stop moving, which would cause her nails to dig into me. I caught her a couple of times rolling her eyes and having other workers come over. She also told me it was going to be 80 dollars for my medium coffin nails. When I went to pay it showed 90 and she told me it was because she did better than the photo and that she was giving me a discount. She then ask me if I want to to leave a tip, I really wanted to leave and usually pay my nail techs 15 - 20 dollar tip, but since she wasnt the nice at all I put 6 dollars for tip. To which she left for a little bit then came back and let me pay. Throughout the experience she was very agressive, and the salon it self wasnt welcoming at all. There was one very sweet worker in there that asked me if I was all right while I was rinsing my hands, bless her heart because that small question is what got me through that experience. I wish the best for that worker. Im never coming back to this place as it really was a horrible experience, so please double think this place i wouldnt wish this on anyone.
