Jess Visiting my family in Carlsbad who told me this is her favorite nail salon. We walked in on a busy Sunday and they saw us both within 10-20 minutes. I asked for short almond acrylics and they came out very nice. This is my first time getting acrylic, I’ve only gotten tips with dip before. The manicurist didn’t try to upsell me on any services which I appreciate because I don’t want paraffin or massage or anything.

mekakay Lee I took my kids to Barnes and Noble thought I would get my nails done while I am out. I stood at the door for a few minutes until they decided they could see me. A guy finished a ladies feet then comes to the table. I hoped he washed his hands when he walked to the back to go talk and grab a bite of food. This experience was horrible I couldnt wait to get out of there that Man was so rough! He burned me twice the cut me so deep blood was dripping out! You know he didnt even stop to put something on it! He says something in their language and she said put alcohol on it! Seriously! I asked for a coffin shape that I always get he told me he would do square for me thats not what I ask for! He did the Ugliest thick square nails I hate them and I have a very painful cut that Im watching for infection. They got gel polish all over my cut as if it wasnt there. One of the ladies offered to fix my nails but after that experience would you give them the chance to hurt you more?! I paid 50$ for the worst nails Ive ever had in my life!!

Karina Martinez Tammy Lucy are the best, I try my hardest not to go anywhere else because they really pay attention to detail. Mary is my favorite pedicure tech, she also pays attention to detail and takes her time. They are always kind, professional, and very efficient! Tammy came through with the holiday designs!! I know it’s simple but she’s got a steady hand … always important!!

Gloria Calvache If I can give 0 stars I would. It was my first time getting my nails done there and to request for a fill to my ombré nails. I am in the Marines and with being in the service it is critical and important to obey and uphold the standards and regulations when it comes to grooming standards. I pick out the closest color to my nails for that natural look and only to be informed 30 minutes in they do not do ombré nails. It was shocking to me considering the fact I have never heard of a nail salon that does not do ombré but only gel and / or acrylic. The man that did my nails one kept scratching his head and resumed doing my nails at the same time. He was well aware that my nails were ombré designed and chose to color the whole nail and didn’t think I would say anything. I informed him to keep the white because it is an ombré looking I’m looking for. He then tells me it’s too late and so I start pulling back frustrated for wasted time and money. Then one of the ladies came to the desk and said “sorry. We don’t do ombré.” But yet still charged me $40 for the worse nails. Now I have to go to work tomorrow and explain to my chain of command why my nails are not appropriate in the work place. If the employees were that apologetic they shouldn’t have either charged me for the nails I didn’t want or at least try to fix it to where it looks appropriate and not half done

Maygen Sutton I went in for an appointment at 2pm and they didn’t do anything for me except put the nails on. There are bubbles under my nails and they are already coming off. They did not push back my cuticle or do anything else so it already looks like a weeks worth of growth even though it’s been 2 days! When I asked why they didn’t do anything to my cuticles they said they didn’t have time and still charged full price.

Delora C Nice atmosphere, it did not smell of nails as you walked in you could breathe without fumes . I have not had other services but first pedicure which was good. So will try out other services and review . ( I’m a qualified nail tech and manicurist- so like to get pampered every now and then rather than do it myself ) First visit made me want to go back again.

Nichole Fincannon I should have viewed recent reviews before coming here. I used to come here frequently over five years ago when I lived in the area. I used to get full sets and have my cuticles pushed back, trimmed, cleaned up. I got a full set and pedicure yesterday. The full set only consisted of nails and French tip, no cuticle care. Before leaving I had the man file the underside of my nails as they were incredibly sharp still. It wasnt until I left that I realized how much extra polish was all over my skin and how dry my nails looked. Thankfully I had nail polish remover and cuticle oil at home.

Alice Ragozza Very satisfied! Leslie did my nails she’s been precise, fast and patient with my request. I did the dipping powder and the nail art with acrylic, my nails still look natural which I love. Recommend!

Raelyn Swanson They were very friendly and helpful. I showed her a design and she was very helpful giving me suggestions on how we could do something similar. The nail shape is perfect and she spent time making sure they were exactly what I wanted. It was reasonably priced and I loved the results. They were all very nice and we all held a conversation the whole time I was there. They are funny and they care about the work they do. This was the best nail salon experience that I have had and I definitely recommend everyone to come here!!

Sonia Blade We are currently having a heatwave so after a dip in the pool, I looked at my feet and decided to get a pedicure. This was almost at 5. So I googled places near to me and Smiles popped up. I’ve never been here before today but I think I found my new nail salon. Once inside, Jack asked if I also needed my nails done. The truth was, yes. So while I was getting my pedicure, he started to remove the old gel and started my ombré set. The service was great! Jack is very meticulous with his work. I am in love with my nails and my toes look great too!

Shelby Taylor Told the guy I wanted them shorter just not past my fingertips. He files them down to nubs to where my fingers were hurting the next couple of days. Continuously told him to stop and eventually that I wanted to leave. He continued to grab my hand back until another guy came over like he was going to fix it and kept telling me that it was okay. The gentleman told me that my nail artist didn’t speak any English and that I need to speak louder next time so the other employees could hear and then told me my nails look fine. Not to mention it was the wrong nail color, but I’m not too picky about color as long as the nails actually look good and didn’t hurt. I actually started crying in the salon. He gave me the total amount due and I was so mortified and embarrassed by crying that I didn’t even argue. Paid the total without tip and left. I have been getting my nails done for years and first time at this location. I have NEVER had an experience like this.

Lexus Vasquez New owners, but still great nails!! ALWAYS ask for Hana to do your nails. She’s the best!! She takes her time, always shapes my nails perfectly, and does the designs I ask for perfectly. I will only ask for Hana to do my nails from now on! The woman that did my pedicure was awesome and very gentle, she took her time as well and did not rush. Great service, I’m only giving 4 stars because the price was very expensive even though they gave me 10% off for their grand opening.

bri palacios I have gone to many different places and this is still by far my favorite place to go to ! The nail aritists are always sweet and professional. I love Ben and he always does such an amazing job every appointment. He is so detailed and always takes his time. Kate Kesling Mani/pedi with gel polish done beautifully!!! I apologize as I did not get the name of the lady that did my toes but they look great. Did my own all summer and she made them look so pretty! I chose the option with scrub, callous treatment and massage. Well worth the upgrade. I promise. My feet are like a baby bottom. I was then sat with Amy for my manicure. She did the most beautiful natural gel manicure. She is very gentle. I am a farm girl visiting from Washington State and my hands & feet get abused. These ladies made me feel like a girl again. They got me right in on a Friday morning. Salon is clean and welcoming.

Kimmi Austin Been coming here since January 2018. Nice place good prices nails actually LAST and they dont give you BS when you want nail designs. The only downside is that when you make an appointment (and you NEED TO they are very busy) expect to wait up to 15-20 minutes after your appointment time to get in the chair. This is due to how busy they are and how dedicated they are to making nice nails that last.

Kirsten Alana Photography Good price and great service from Michelle for a full set of acrylics! I was in the area for work and needed to find something to do indoors on a bad weather day. I hadn’t had acrylics since before the pandemic but I remember it being far worse than my experience with Michelle. So really impressed. The salon does have a very very strong smell and the decor is amusing. Lots of lights! But I was seen without an appointment immediately on a Wed morning and everyone was cheerful. And the nails look terrific! Best set I’ve ever had. Very good experience for the price and no appt.

heather schultz I came back to joshlyn after being out of the area for eight years and man did she not disappoint! I hated my nails and how curvy they were and she did an amazing job in fixing them, I will continue to go back to her even if I have to make the hour an half drive. It’s totally worth it. Anna did my pedicure and she was amazing as well! They are extremely busy so make sure you make an appointment or else you’ll be disappointed.

Vy My favorite nail salon and I’ve tried a number of other salons. Excellent service all around. They’re great with gel, acrylic, designs etc you name it. Whatever designs I have in mind, they always nail it. And my set would last forever without lifting. Everyone is super nice and friendly. The owner, Kim, is so awesome and accommodating. Highly recommend!!! This set is 3 weeks old it looks like new Update 10/21/24: another elegant French tip set by Thy. Love it !!!

Kaylien Santiago-Badillo I regularly come in to get gel mani and pedi, this time I noticed when I got home and looked under natural light some of my nails had a weird film on it, making my them look dull. I went back right away to the salon and addressed my concerns. They immediately sat me down and applied a new clear coat to all my nails and fixed the issue at no charge! Nice and shiny. They are always so kind and exceed expectations.

sarah millon I have been getting my nails done by Kim at platinum nails for more than 5 years now. Hands down the best tech I’ve ever had work on my nails ! Nobody can ever make them as gorgeous and last longing without lifting like she can. She always fits me in and she’ll make time each time I break a nail. Lastly, everyone is so sincerely friendly and they treat you like family. So if you’re looking for a nail place that’s close by or a just a go to , then I highly x 100 definitely recommend this place.

S P I paid $55 (plus tip) for a pedicure. I asked for all natural nails, I like the clean look. And while the pedicure was relaxing, when I got home and got a closer look at my feet, my nails looked chewed up. They dont match in shape. The shape is weird. Cuticles are not clean and it doesnt even look filed. I would have been able to cut them better at home myself. Really disappointed. Edit: I called and they said they can redo the pedicure. I will update my review when I go back in.

Diana Konani De Villa I just recently moved to this area from Hawaii and found Ms nails on Google. I was blessed to get Jessica my 1st time in. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it to a tee. I went back for a refill and saw Jessica again, showed her another picture of what I wanted and once again she did it with perfection. I’m so please with her service, convenience and prices. I have found my new nail salon and will recommend them.

Sonia Blade I wish I could say I was impressed but I believe I got a trainee. My nails are already chipping, I got a fill. The gel closest to the cuticle isn’t as smooth as it should be, she wasn’t confident when doing the chrome. Everyone was nice but the actual service was just ok.

Debi Bone Everyone on staff is great. I love the way they care for the older clients. They are all friendly and care about their clients. The dip process was suggested sometime ago. Its perfect. I can go 3 or even 4 weeks between visits. I always get compliments. I am always very happy with my manicure. I highly recommend this salon.

michelle tanner I just assume when you get a manicure. What that consists of is hand soaking in water? Then they get some cuticle oil and cuticle. Lotion, rub it in, then they push your nail bed back then. They clean around your nails and the cuticles. Then I would assume they would clean your nails if you have dirt underneath your fingernails, they would clean your fingernails. I just would assume they would do that, and then. Also I would assume they will lotion your hands afterwards and then, after all that they spray the rubbing alcohol on your nails and then start to prepare them to get painted. Thats what I thought a manicure was, but apparently a manicure consists of Soak in your hands about 3 minutes. Each filing your nails, putting nail polish on them, and thats it? Thats all I got for 20 bucks. Thats it. I would never ever go there again. I would never ever recommend that place again. Oh, and then at the end, when the nails are wet and trying to dry Then she came over and started lotioning my hands and my fingers. Im like, dude. You should have done that before. You put the nail polish on. Why are you lotioning my hands? After it makes no sense. Then she was trying to put cuticle oil on my wet. Nails, Im a dude. Youre supposed to do all this, but before you paint my nails.!

Chelsea Castro I love luxe nails. I have been in the O for 10 Years and never found a tech who could manage how hard I am on my nails. I have tried every different nail application type (dip, acrylic, pink and white) and literally - I needed Luxe. Their product and technique is flawless and finely executed. Picture of the holiday nails is 2 weeks past (and still look so good - I got a compliment today!) and I will go in tomorrow and follow up with my new year set! Follow up pic with my fresh set! Karin Hecox I came in for a gel x fill. Tobi and Daniel not available. I normally LOVE how my nails turnout, but not this time. So another nail tech did my nails. I should have come back another day when Tobi or Daniel were there. Not at all happy with how they turned out. Not a smooth finish; flattened my nails out; no clean lines; I asked for thin french. Totally bummed.

Olivia DeRobbio I had an amazing experience at Luxe Nails with Tobi! I came in to get a soak off and a new Gel X full set while I was in Oceanside for my wedding. I had gotten an acrylic full set before flying out to CA, but unfortunately, one of my nails broke just four days before my wedding. I wasn’t thrilled with the set I had they were too thick and clearly didn’t last, but Tobi completely turned that around and made my bridal nail dreams come true! He was incredibly kind, patient, and took his time to ensure every detail was perfect. I felt so taken care of, and the nails turned out beautifully. Almost a week later, they still look as perfect as the first day. I’m so happy with the results and will definitely be back if Im ever in CA again! Highly recommend Tobi and Luxe Nails for anyone looking for top-notch nail care! 5 stars all the way!

Sara Tish Mikoczi Love this place. Everyone here is so kind and always helpful when I come. I always have Susan who is such a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and that is why I always go back to her. The place is an older building but always clean and they keep up the equipment, nail colors (note they are all gel at $15 more than listed price which they tell you), etc. Also, they prefer cash but if you use their atm, they give you back the atm charge ($8) at least for the atm in cash. So that is a nice bonus. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Note I usually get the second highest price pedicure with parrafin, extra oil massage, etc. for $55. The nail color removal and previous gel removal were included.

Carley May I’ve been here a couple of times now. The first time was ok despite the wait. The second time it took over three hours for a basic pedi and fill. The paint looks acceptable but the shapes and lengths do not match. They are now all lifting and falling off in chunks where they were last filled. My hair gets stuck in them, super disappointed and I won’t be coming back. My toes did come out ok but the tech acted like she understood me but did not. I tip well and am very understanding but this was a waste of time and money for me.

Yessenia Baeza First time coming here and I will definitely come back. Its hard to find a good place when you are from out of town and Tracy was great. We also had two kids pedi and one adult pedi and a childs mani and they all enjoyed it as well. Whole staff were accommodating and super friendly!!

Alexandra Enriquez This place is so good. Im very picky with my nails. i like them to look natural as possible. I havent had 1 bad experience. They work fast. Ive told my sisters to go get their nails done there and we are now loyal customers. Gracie is so good! I love this place

Nerissa Zhang I visited Royal Nails in Oceanside last night after a friend initially recommended another salon, but their poor reviews led me to look elsewhere. Royal Nails had higher ratings, so I assumed it would be a better experience—but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. From the moment I walked in, the service was lacking. The real issue came at the end of my appointment. Instead of the usual finishing touches—like a proper application of lotion—the technician simply threw on some cuticle oil and told me to wash my hands and leave. It felt rushed and impersonal. The technician who did my pedicure was fantastic—she took her time, and the results were great. However, Tina, who did my nails, fell short in both service and professionalism. While the nails themselves turned out fine, she was rough during the process and even made one of my nails bleed. Rather than acknowledging or cleaning it, she just kept going as if nothing had happened. It genuinely felt like she didn’t want me there. Overall, I won’t be returning, and I honestly don’t understand how this salon has four-star reviews. If you’re looking for great service and attention to detail, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Iris Martinez Went in because reviews were good. I asked for Gel X, which they were able to do. However, the lady that was doing my nails did not size right. Had to redo one of my fingers about 3 times. Each time she was trying to file down my nail until my nail was sore. She did not clean up under my nails and I had glue all over. I managed to clean them when I got home. There is an insane amount of glue in every nail. Pictures below. (Do not mind the red, I had red polish before)

Diana They do not charge the prices listed. The quality of work is not the greatest. On several occasions nails start to break within 24 to 48 hours after service performed. Technicians do not speak English and have to involve others to carry out simple conversation. At the beginning of the service I was given different price by the technician and at the end he charged me $20 more then for what we agreed on. Environment was uncomfortable and it was very hot and stuffy too as they dont use air conditioning and dont have enough fans to accommodate all the customers. For the price the experience should be much better. They did make improvements to the environment which made it feel much more comfortable.

Fiona Lawrence I am not a nail art expert, but I know how to relax. I had a great time relaxing at Happiness Nails and Spa. She is a 10 out of 10. I will definitely go back. The price was very affordable.

Yedda Eira I recently got my nails done right before Halloween, and they did an amazing job. I was going to be Cinderella for Halloween, and I told them I did not have a specific design in mind but wanted it to be Cinderella-inspired. The results were stunning.

Naomi Tazanna The salon is bright, beautiful, and extremely clean. They offer a wide selection of gorgeous nail colors, including all the latest trends. I adore this place and will not go anywhere else.

Ms.Scattergoods This salon does not exit at the address listed on there web page. It is a fake salon. They don’t really exit another salon is at that address it’s called design nails and spa at that address in Oceanside and at the same address and there reviews are 4.1. I went there and they don’t deserve that rating worse than that the person who did me lied and said she been in the busy for 25 years but couldn’t even file my nails smooth. Don’t waste your money

Rashada I tried this place again after a slight disappointment (a month ago) of not getting exactly what I asked for. They do nails nicely but not so secure. I found out today after finishing my nails that they opt to add a tip nail that they have to give you a shape other than square so they can charge $5 extra. That’s not the issue too much. The issue is I asked to have a fuller nail bc I’m clumsy and don’t want pointed nails. ***However, very sophisticated and nice people! They make your nails look nice for those that want the long pointed nail shape. I prefer old fashioned full oval shape.

I was turned away from another nail salon because i was told my nail design was too difficult and Lisa did it without hesitation!! Both Jack and Lisa were super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this spot.

katriel goodson Terrible. Terrible. Do not go here and spend your money. They overcharge and as you can see my nail chipped within 48 hours. 48 hours after leaving the 2nd time one of my nails broke again. 3 visits in 6 days. The did not address the issue of other nails breaking only fixed 1. They do not care save your time and money. Btw does this look like ombré?

Alexis McCrimmon I have been going to this location and specifically to Daniel for 13+ years. He has consistently been an example in my nail world, and I always find myself coming back even if I cheated on him with other nail people. New location reminds me of Vegas, I love it - clean, friendly, and always responsive. I have never been pushed to get more when I say what I want, I have never left with a bad experience. I appreciate knowing if I have had a long day I can come here and not have to worry about how my nails will come out, on the other side of the token, I know if I want something different or there is a problem then I can say something without feeling judged or talked about once I leave. This is a staple nail salon in Oceanside and I recommend everyone to go! ❤️ Daniel for nails. Linda for tosies! Today I got a fill and my toes done selection 6 I believe, total came to 96$. I’m a basic girly, and don’t do designs really. Tried and true! Love it here!

Clutch Modern I feel so pampered! My mani-dip with ombré sparkles and red hot pedi is perf for this season!!! Love it and the organic products and open bar. What more could you ask for?

Bria Andrade I’ve been going here for 3 years and had the most horrifying experience today. I have an acrylic overlay over my natural nail and asked for a pretty simple fill, my acrylic ended up needing to be redone because it lifted which is fine. When John removed the acrylic he used a tip to pry it off, which hurt sooo bad and he even cut me (they normally soak it off). After that he trimmed 3 of my nails down before I could notice, I stopped him and told him I wanted almond and he said it’s fine we’ll just put tips, I can’t get tips, I use my hands/nails at work and tips always snap off. So I had to cut down all of my nails that I’d been growing out for a year. He didn’t even try to match the shape on each nail, they’re bumpy and acrylic was left all over my fingers. When I got to the front I said I really don’t think it’d be fair for me to pay this because it’s not at all what I came in for and I had a horrible experience- I was essentially swarmed around by 3 men (John, the guy at the front desk, and the owner) and told I had to pay at least half. I felt super threatened, especially being a woman surrounded by 3 men. I’ve attached photos - orange tips is what I asked for, the one with black hearts is how long my nails were before getting them done, and the short pink ones are what I left the salon with today and had to pay for. It was an extremely disappointing experience especially as a loyal customer. I highly recommend not coming to this place, but if you still decide to please do yourself a favor and avoid John.

Nae B HOLLY HOLLY HOLLY!! This beautiful, sweet, talented young woman made my daughter’s dreams come true gave her the most beautiful set of acrylics for a very special party this weekend! She looked at the picture my daughter brought as an example of what she wanted, and Holly took a quick look , smiled and was reassuring that she had it under control and it was better than we ever would’ve imagined! All the staff are so kind so courteous so sweet so welcoming! The atmosphere is friendly. The salon is so clean and nicely decorated !! We found a new spot! Thank you everyone at HAPPIEST NAILS!!

Lauren Castonguay I’ve been here many many times and the quality is usually good, but today I received one of the worst manicures I’ve ever had. Maybe it was an off day for the nail technician but I don’t feel like it’s good customer service to let your client leave the salon with this as the final product. At $50 plus tip, it’s not worth risking it again, I will probably have to look elsewhere.
