Jamie I had been getting dip done for over a year, because I had heard that if you’re going to get your nails done, dip is the least harmful to your nails. I recently moved to CA and wanted to stop getting my nails done. I came here for them to just take off the dip. The lady doing it was super nice but used the buffing tool so hard on my nails that first of all some of my nails are bruised underneath and hurt pretty bad now, and secondly are the thinnest they have ever been (and I used to do acrylic). Had I seen the other reviews before, I probably would have gone somewhere else, but the convenience got me.

Simona Bordoni I came here all the time when I lived in south california for my regular pedicures. I used to love this place. I went back this summer and was very disappointed. My pedicure was done in a hurried and sloppy way. I think they also gave a different number of coatings on my feet, as one had a darker color than the others. Maybe they were just having a bad day and I will give them a try next time I am there. But the service I got was definitely subpar.

Meredith Ryness I love coming here and have for years! It’s always clean and consistent and the staff is friendly. I moved out of the neighborhood but still make the trip to come. Highly recommend.

Denisy Kinsman I think the lady who did my nails needs more training for this. I did my nails 5 days ago and it already looks like its been one month. I paid 50 bucks for a very mediocre job. Im very disappointed.

Katherine Twomey First time at this nail salon and I was very impressed. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I got structured gel nails and a gel pedicure and both were absolutely fantastic! I used to always do dip at other salons and it always looked thick and chunky this structured gel looks beautifully thin and even and it is still as strong as the dip. They did great shaping and cuticle work too! I would definitely recommend going here! : )

Jon Spero WORTH YOUR $$$$$ !!! I got a manicure and pedicure and when I got home I looked at my toes and almost had to get a new wife because of how hot my toes looked. So I went back the next day they kindly let me bathe them in praise but hours later it seemed like maybe I should just go home. On top of that my wife needed me to do normal things so I had to go. Annie is the best though and my tootsies have never looked better.

Julianna Sy Best gel x nails Ive ever had. They look and feel super natural, I love the color. I was a walk-in on a Sunday morning and they took me right away! Caitlyn did my set and she is great, and all the other nail techs are super sweet and talented. They always make sure youre getting exactly what you want for a good price. My go-to nail spot :)

Jenna Manheimer Excellent pedicure! I got the Special Pedicure ($40) that includes callus removal and a five minute massage, and was so impressed by the attention to detail and impeccable service. The young lady made my feet so smooth and soft, while the polish and shape of the nails are perfect. I did have to ask her to round my nails after she had already made them square and she kindly changed them.

Nina Nicolosi Don’t let the guy do your nails. I had the dip powder done. So many issues idk where to begin. Patches of glitter missing, wrong size extensions, they weren’t even glued all the way now debris is squeezing in between, edges were missed, left hand nails way longer than right, lumpy finish.... just flat out sloppy. I had 2 different hands, I wish the pics could do better justice to show it. I paid $50 for this only to get them redone 5 days later.

Just received a manicure and pedicure from this salon, and I had a great experience! Staff does a quick job and are generally friendly. The place was clean and well-maintained. After walking around in the hot sun, they even offered complimentary cold water for me! My nails turned out exactly how I wanted, and Ill definitely be returning again.

allie walling I started coming to tammy and her wonderful staff in 2022 for my very first gel manicure for my wedding. since that day i haven’t stopped coming! every time her and her whole staff put in work making sure each nail is perfection! y’all been sleeping if you haven’t visited tammy and her team!

Michelle Best nail salon I’ve been to !!! I’m picky with my nails and pedicure so I been to so many nail salons and finally found the perfect one. best prices too.. everyone is so nice. Crystal does my gel x and she is fast. The owner is very lovely and always taking me in at whatever time.

Al Pedicure was done well by a different person but the gentleman that did my manicure filed my already short nails almost down to the quick, did a such a sloppy and gloppy polish job i removed it that night and worst of all, i saw him use the same tools he used on me on the next customer without so much as a wipe down.

Rlaney I saw a review that commented on the cleanliness of the salon. And what the reviewer said was false. I have been coming here for over a year and the salon is very clean. They have a sterilization machine in the back. All the tools are in a sealed sterilized package before use. Not to mention they do an excellent job with my nails.

Sonia R I would give zero stars if I could. I went in for a gel pedi last Sunday and the nail tech left me with several cuts on my toes that took nearly a week to scab up (meaning it was an exposed wound for several days). I also requested a callous remover, and that resulted in super dry and cracked heels that make it nearly unbearable to walk. I should have just asked for my money back after paying. Save your money and go elsewhere. It’s not worth the literal pain.

J Gomez Dont get a pedicure before they close because they rush and dont do a good job. Paid $39 for a pedicure but I didnt like it. Next time Im picking another girl.

EMC I’ve come four times now, each time I’ve called ahead and had an appointment. Very important to do for this spot. They are busy and they care about the quality of their work. Today was my 4th time, they did squeeze me in and they did have a lot of patience when I asked about the nail colors. I really appreciated this. So happy to have found a local place!

Rebecca Avanesian Crystal did a great job with my birthday nails! We both loved them so much. I got a GelX set with the design for $100 total. I recommend making an appointment. The prices here are the same as my old place in Old Town, and this salon is better! Nice techs, clean space, cute interior. Plus, free street parking!

Sasha R I have had my nails done by most of the nail techs and they are all wonderful - very kind, attentive, and accommodating. They always make sure my nails look perfect; even if I’m ready to pay and walk out the door, if they notice something is a tiny bit off, they will offer to keep going to make sure it’s perfect. It’s a small place, no frills, but very calming and clean, and it doesn’t smell like chemicals like some other salons.

Rosezetta Upshaw This was probably the best manicure I’ve ever had. So perfect and shiny and so GENTLE! I came 3-4 times before writing a review. I had a different person each time. Everyone was really good. Amy is the best! There are 2 Amys lol Ask for Amy with the short hair. She is very sweet and friendly and an absolute perfectionist and so very gentle with removing the powder dip and filing my nails. Thank you Amy! I also love that they have self-serve water bottles and snacks bags (doritos, nutter butter, etc) in the front. I rarely eat junk food but I still think it’s a nice touch. Maybe add a little trail mix for me. :) This place is recently under new ownership. I stopped coming years ago when the previous owners ran it due to a nail tech having a bad attitude. These new owners are doing a great job and I’m happy I can write them a glowing review. The prices are reasonable. $50 powder dip. $28 pedicure. I got the $40 upgraded pedicure and I appreciate that it did come with a lot of extras: scrub, cream, hot stone massage , hot towel wrap, etc. to make it significantly different than the basic pedicure.

Jasmine Chi This was my second time coming in and I’m SO happy with the results - I got a gel-x manicure and regular pedicure. Their customer service and attention to detail is incredible and the prices for their services are great! If you’re in or near South Pasadena, I’d recommend making an appointment - you won’t regret it.

Rebecca Chang The entire process of booking an appointment to checking out after getting my nails done was pleasant in terms of service. Every person I interacted with was kind. However, it wasn’t communicated to me that the nail design I wanted wasn’t doable, so the design I asked for was botched. I sent a picture of the designs I wanted via text message the day before my appointment to see if they would be doable, but I didn’t receive a response. When I went in on the day of my appointment, I showed the picture I had sent the previous day to the staff who sat me down. She called a nail tech over. The nail tech looked at my pictures and ended up switching with another nail tech, because she said she couldn’t do the design I wanted. The tech who ended up doing my nails was almost done with one hand before saying that she didn’t know how to do the design. I asked her to go back to fix some of the nails, and she did what she could. I communicated to her that the base color was too orange multiple times, but she insisted the color wouldn’t be too visible after she added the designs. The plus side was that I really enjoyed our conversations, and she was very gentle. She also spent some time color matching to the pictures I shared with her, so some effort was there. I dont think Id come again, but if I did, I’d wait to get a confirmation on the nail design before making an appointment.

Amado Ramirez I wanted to treat/pamper my wife for all the hard work she does. As a guy I never understood the importance of women selfcare until I came here. This establishment the moment we walked-in we were immediately welcomed and attended to by the staff. It is a very clean, professional, and relaxed enviorment. Seeing the joy it brought my wife getting her nails done has made me happy. Emily did an amazing job in providing great detail to her art and was very informative of her work which made us feel comfortable in what we were getting. I recommend this place to all my family and friends to treat their wives here!!! A++++

laura jonason Rude staff, overcharge compared to other places. They charge waaay more for kids than other places and wouldnt give my kid the foot bath that comes with a pedicure, so my kid was really bummed to miss theur favorite part. My kid also wanted alternating nail colors so they charged extra (didnt say anything about extra until it was done). For me, they put a few inches of water in the basin for the pedi. Just felt penny-pinching and cheap as an overall experience. Theres plenty of better places to go, with friendlier staff, a better mire luxerious experience, and more reasonable prices. Id skip this place. Edit/update: 2 days later, my polish is flaking off (a lot). Never had had polish flake off after 2 days. (See photo)

Bethany Nauert Mendez Decided to walk in randomly last Wednesday and was greeted with friendly service. I was sat with Ashley who gave me a beautiful hard gel manicure. I was truly very happy ! She really took her time and did a nice shape and clean up. I’ve been going to the gloss nail spa on sunset in Silverlake for years but I am glad that I tried this one randomly. I only happen to be in the area because I was running other errands so I thought I would just give this one a shot and I’m so glad I did .

H I am very disappointed with this nail salon. Costed 80 dollars to do dip powder and ($50) for the nails and ($30) for fake pearls. The price came to a shock to me because the $30 extra for fake pearls is ridiculous. For me and my sister with basic mani pedi was $210 total before tip. Then my nails kept breaking off after 1 week because the lady glued them too close to the edge. Every time I get acrylic they last me a minimum of three weeks, but the quality was not good. They looked nice when I first got them and then they fell off because of cheap product they use and not gluing the nail far enough in. I came back and fixed one and then a few days later two more broke off and they would not fix it for me. On top of that my sister came out with multiple scratches and was bleeding I used to like this place but it’s going downhill very fast. And I will not be coming back

Elizabeth Paredes My new favorite nail salon. It was so easy, I showed Jane a picture of what I wanted and she delivered it perfectly. $60 for hard gel fill with a design. The price is affordable so I didnt leave feeling guilty for splurging on myself and Im definitely going back every few weeks.

Jen Pinto I’m so happy I found this nail salon! I work in jewelry so I have to have my nails right ALL the time but getting them done isn’t always the most relaxing experience. I’ve tried many salons in Pasadena but this is the only one I’ve found (in my opinion) that is good quality work paired with a nice environment. I actually leave feeling like I did some self-care for myself, I feel good, I feel happy with my set. That’s all thanks to the lovely, talented women who work at the salon and the environment they cultivate. I’ve found my nail spot and I recommend It!

carolina Lopez I called a day ahead and scheduled an appointment for 10 am. I get there at 10 am and the salon wasn’t even open. They got there around 10:13 am and then proceeded to tell me “why are you so early”. They then took around 30 minutes to even start doing my nails. I told the lady I want almond nails, she didn’t clean my cuticles and left a white stripe on my nail. Also didn’t clean the back and these don’t reflect anything to the proper way almond nails are supposed to look. What I wanted is the last picture and this is what I got :/ don’t recommend coming here. They even charged me $51

Mimi Chang I previously frequented this salon for their extensive gel polish offerings and friendly-enough service but I revisited after a year and was unpleased w the experience. After I was sat down to remove my gel extensions, I waited over an hour to actually get started and the service wasn’t the friendliest considering. They also absolutely raised their prices, which I understand a lot of places must do to keep up with inflation, but I used to appreciate the lowish costs of their services, which are now as high as its competition around it. The gel manicure came out fine but not sure I’d return.

Deborah Ramirez I love a “basic” single-colored gel manicure with my short nails, and they always do an amazing job! Good quality nail polish, and they take their time and give attention to detail. The staff is also soooooo friendly and welcoming. I love coming here! 10/10 recommend.

Catherine Thayer Went here for the first time today and I took my little sister who had never gotten her nails done. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. They were super understanding with my sister and me. We both got full acrylic sets and gel pedicures and our nails look amazing (probably the best set of nails Ive ever had, and they were pretty fast)!! Were so happy with the results. I would highly recommend and we will be coming back.

Valerie Jax I came in for Gel removal manicure and Gel polish. I recently grew out my nails and was excited to get them nicely shaped At first I was helped by nail technician who was very patient and detail oriented while cleaning and shaping my nails. Just about the time she finished filing my nails, she informed me that another nail tech will be finishing the job. The 2nd nail tech sat down and was having a mid conversation, and then instantly started filing my nails again. I stopped her as soon as I saw that my nail shape went from round to square! I nicely told her oh wait they are already shaped ! She insisted to tell me these are square/oval I told her I wanted round but at that point she filed down two of my nails to square. At that point the little nail growth that I had was gone and my nails are skin short. The color I picked turned out to be a totally different color from the sample, the nail tech told me that’s because the nail polish is new so it won’t be the same as the sample. I changed it and they didn’t have the 2nd color I chose. We’re talking basic neutral colors here. I then chose light pink and she flooded my cuticle and the paint was completely uneven with small air bubble. Upon check out they didn’t charge me correctly. I was charged a simple manicure with take off service and a shoulder massage? What shoulder massage? So I won’t be back, quality is not there and color palette is not updated.

Rocio Rivas I have to so many nail salons and Happy Nails is just the best experience overall. The service, skill and professionalism of all the ladies is what brings me back every time.

Shariz Overall, I think its a decent place. They are open late and are good about appointments or walking in, and everyone is generally friendly and courteous. Not all of the girls are the best at design work, the lines arent always straight, but they will give it their best shot. My only frustration with the fill is they never work on the cuticles, and sometimes the acrylic overlay will start lifting off the nail bed sometimes after just a week, which is frustrating. The pedicure is a 10 out of 10 though. UPDATE- I will never be returning! I was regularly going once a month. I mainly came walk in, and they were always very accommodating. Even watched my baby when her was fussing in his in his seat. But this last time I was there, there was 3 of us. I expected the bill to be big no worries we were prepared it 278 was on the receipt I signed, then Im checking my bank 4 days later, and the charge is 333. We tipped in cash, so I was confused why I was charged another 55. I called and left a message no one got back to me I called two more times and got an answer and she said she remembered me and she was sorry but she had forgot to originally charge me for one of the services. She said she didnt have my number, so she couldnt let me know. I understand forgetting a charge, but that wasnt my fault, and I find it completely inappropriate to change the amount after the receipt has been signed, especially without talking to customers. I understand not having my number, but Ive been coming once a month for almost a year we could have talked about it the next time I came in and i could correct the issue then, but i dont like how they just decided to do it on there own. As far as Im concerned, the way they went about it was theft, and now I cant trust them! I cant trust that they wont make up charges after the fact and just add more to the bill. If they would have waited and talked to me I would have understood and paid but now theyve lost a regular customer.

alec meyn I love Lumi nail studio! I drive 1 hour to come to crystal her work is so amazing. I’ve been coming with my sister for about 2 years now and I believe once you try Lumi once you will never wanna go anywhere else.

She was very attentive and did a great job repairing one of my toenails, also she gave me a great leg massage. The salon was clean and spacious, also the bathroom was clean. Diana Rodriguez Im really wondering if the moat recent reviews are real. Based on my experience, I highly doubt it. My first time here. Theres a banner in the front that says its under new management and first time customers get 10%. Cool. The girl that greeted me turned on the foot spa. A young man approached for my hands and a lady for me feet. As they got started, the girl that greeted me placed not 1, not 3, but 5 color books ok my lap. I had one hand in a bowl and the other one being worked on. The guy had also placed a pillow on my lap. Weird. The lady made both my big toes bleed. One more than the other. They really shouldnt be allowed to dig into the side of the nail bed. They guys brush strokes were awkward and he pushed the cuticles back a little rough. It took more than 6 minutes for him to apply the first layers of polish (yes, I timed it). He kept going back and forth between nails stroking on color. When I went to pay, I asked the girl about the first time customer discount. She said that the place went under new management 10 months ago and that its no longer valid. Remove the banner. I added pictures the next day. I tried capturing the streaky job on the hands and terrible color job on the toes. Number of stars is due to it being a cute clean place. Im not going back though. *update June 1. More pictures added. Gel polish chipped and peeled off too soon and it looks like I have a little fungus.
