N Owner gave me a Ouidad curly cut and completely ruined my hair. I had really long hair and came in for a wolf cut. I showed him reference photos and told him what I wanted. He didn’t do anything I asked for and didn’t even give me layers. I left with shoulder length, blunt hair with no layers and ugly bangs. I had to get 4 haircuts to fix his mistakes and now I don’t trust hairstylists. If you have curly hair, don’t come here! This place deserves zero stars!

Caitlin C I just got my hair done by Andrea. Dark blue and teal ombre. She did an absolutely amazing job! Colors are beautiful and vibrant. Very long process, but well worth the money! The staff was super nice and funny. I will definately be back!!!

Mikayla Mindte Ericka is such an amazing stylist. She’s the only stylist I’ve gone back to, she truly understands the struggle I have w my thin hair and every time she dyes my hair she is so gentle with it. Outcome is always exactly what I envisioned and my hair grows out wonderfully and blended with how light my ends are and how dark my roots are. Great conversation and she’s a very sweet human being! amazing hair salon & amazing vibes! :)

Gabriela Mendoza (Edit: I did leave something out accidentally but after we added my hair color and washed it my hair was still damp when she decided to brush my hair extremely rough and hair was coming out of my highlights left and right because it was freshly bleached and I thought it was common knowledge but when hair is bleached it becomes more elastic and when hair is wet it also becomes elastic and putting those two together made my hair very brittle and as a hair stylist I thought she would know better but I guess not?? And when she was done brushing my hair there was a good Chunk of purple hair on the actual brush it looked like I was balding and losing hair. Now I have spilt ends about every where from that and a bunch of fly away hairs and my hair is extremely damaged..)The customer service was great they were extremely nice there are just a few things I did have a problem with first was just the pricing when I had messaged them about the price was about 225 but I paid well over 400 which was like why even give me that starting price if the actual price was gonna be no where near it so that sucked cause now my parents how to pay a good 200 more for something honestly I could’ve went somewhere else for the original price of 225 but they kept that information from me until the end my second problem was just the hair cut I asked for some side bangs cuz I had really been wanting them for a while, Kylie was working with me she was extremely nice but I just didn’t like the side bangs at all as you can see in the first picture it’s very much just pretty straight and looked like a bowl cut when my hair was tied back and she added way too much hair for the side bangs/ curtain bangs she said that since my hair was freshly cut but I waited a good 5 days to see if anything would look good I tried styling it as best i could but at last nothing worked. luckily I watched a simple video on how to do it and ended up just fixing it myself as you can see in the second to last picture so it wouldn’t be so flat now I’m just waiting for it to grow back.. my last problem was the actual color of my hair honestly not that big of problem but I asked for this deeper purple I sent the second photo as a reference to Eugene and they gave me this magenta/violet looking color which I wasn’t a fan of because I didn’t like standing out so much and my hair was like neon which don’t get my wrong it’s such a cute color and I got a lot of compliments on it, it just wasn’t for me but I grew to like it just not what I asked for I did try to reach out to Kylie on instagram for a few questions but never got a text back..but yea overall the actual highlights were amazing I loved them so much Kylie did an amazing job it’s just these things I did have a problem with thank you

Lioudmila Voronova I booked an appointment online via a text message from the salon. I told they honestly that I didnt know any hairstylists and I just wanted a wash and a short haircut and how much it would cost. They said it would be around $45. I said yes. Cynthia texted me right away, setting up a time and asking me to send her a $25 deposit. I did and arrived on time. Cyn was working on another client. So she kept running back and forth between that client and me. I had to call her twice to get her attention. She was very upset that a 74 year old client was demanding attention for her money. She ended up giving me a haircut that was completely different from what I wanted and charged $90 for the job. Keep in mind that a wash and a short haircut is $90 at this salon!!! I didnt ask for anything else! And I cant describe the details here. This was December 19th, the days before Christmas. This young woman Cyn has a difficult job and apparently does not get along well with customers. Despite her rude behavior in front of Eugene, I gave her $90 because I am a Christian and I felt sorry for this liar. She accepted my alms, not realizing that God will repay her according to her deeds. But I do not recommend this salon to anyone!

Kelly Moore You guys. If you need your hair cut, colored, pizazzed, changed, done up, etc., Luxe and Local is the place you want to go. I have had my hair done by 4 of the artists here and am always left feeling pampered and glamorous. They use the Oribe hair care line of hair products and I am the ONLY person I know who can say that during and after pregnancy my hair was growing instead of falling out. These friends know their craft and will not steer you wrong. Come in, sit back, and enjoy the luxe experience. I know I do.

Em-Em O First time at Luxe and Local and I love my hair! Thanks to Eugene…he is amazing. He did exactly what I asked for and I’m so glad I found him. I will definitely be referring him and his salon to friends and family. My niece is already going to be making an appointment!

Ashleigh George God awful experience I left there in tears. I sat in Melissa’s chair for 20 minutes while she ran her fingers through my hair and told me that she refused to do what I wanted. Didn’t offer any suggestions to do anything else. I wanted highlights and a hair cut. Even refused to do the hair cut and when I asked her if she wanted me to leave she asked me to leave her salon. It made me feel less than and I’ve never felt that way by someone. She belittled me and laughed in my face. I’ve never felt so much disgust by someone that I don’t even know. I don’t know anyone that would treat someone the way she treated me. I will not be back. She needs to be trained on how to treat human beings. People don’t go around tearing down other people and call that customer service. Certainly my hair was damaged it had a perm to it and some dye but she could at least offer to cut it. Didn’t even get that option.

Shahana Sharp My stylist is Jacqueline Elser, who I came across on Instagram and was drawn to her beautiful Blonde color melts on her page. I’ve been having my hair professionally styled for 17years, over the years I’ve had the luxury of trying a large variety of hair styles and colors from Blonde, Red, Brown, Balayage, Sombre, Ombre, and a hair extension queen for 10 years. Due to Covid, I have not had my hair done in 13months and was something I maintained at least every 3 months. I was looking for a new stylist since my stylist of 15 years is no longer an option. Let’s be honest trying new Stylist is SCARY! Jacqueline was very knowledgeable and professional. She walked me through all my questions, constantly checking on my hair under the foils and offered refreshments. She transformed my hair and I’m so in love

Rosie Durazo This place is not just about hair they have a spa, a massage specialist and you can get your nails done. The place is extremely clean and a very comfortable inviting atmosphere. The owner Javier was extremely nice to me and I wasnt even there for any of the above Services. It was my first time there I had taken my daughter for her massage appointment by Randy. Who by the way Ive had massages by him and personally I can tell you he is excellent. So while I waited for my daughter, Javier the owner treated me to a sweetbread. Which I did buy for my Damaged and dry hair.

E M I am still sad about how terrible this salon was. I had Javier cut and color my hair. It did not come out anything like the picture. Cut was uneven - Color was patchy. He was 20 minutes late to my appointment that he picked the time for. I came back two days after the service for him to fix it as there were so many greys missed and the balayage was splotchy. No refunds or apologies were given. He said.. well you win some you lose some. Both times he put more color on my ears and forehead without care and didnt clean it up afterwards. The assistant was hard scrubbing my forehead to remove the color so I could go back to work. I went to a different salon two months after and they said he must have used bad dye or something but it was still no excuse for the bad layers I was given. He only put layers on literally one side of my head. It was not cheap to go there and I expected an artist/expert to work on my hair. It was very disappointing and unprofessional all around. I do not recommend this place.

Annalisa They treat us like family! And Mimi always does a fantastic job on my hair! It’s always clean and inviting inside and the service is quick and excellent! She even did my little girls hair! We love Mimi’s! So glad I found her! Highly recommended! And the price is just right!

Britney Adame I had a good experience here, the lady that died my hair was super gentle and she made sure that no dye was left on my skin she was so gentle, although I do think the price was a little up there I know for the service I got its okay, she washed my hair really good and massaged my head while doing it too! Tovah Eichenbaum I chose Mimis Hair Salon based on the excellent Yelp reviews. (sorry Google; I multi source) I was not disappointed. Frances did a fantastic job on my new cut. She even did an excellent style and dry cutting on the layers. She gave excellent, straight-forward instructions for daily and special occasion styling. My cut is actually super easy to maintain with curly hair, but looks good blown straight too. I added shots here from right after and a week after the cut.

I ask for 2 inches to be cut only half inch was cut which Im glad. Hair is not cut well as you can see on picture. This was my first and last time coming to this place. Marie Pasillas Aggressive employees. They are just there to take your money because when we complained about my daughters eyebrows being uneven and if the tint was supposed to look all jagged she said yes and thats how my daughters eyebrows were shaped. All the tint washed off the next day. She was acting like we were frustrating her cuz we didnt want to pay. We dont mind paying for GOOD work. We will not be going back, I would suggest you guys try another place.

Destiny Arguelles Came to get eyelash extensions here and will never go again!! At first i thought they came out good but oh no! The day i left the lashes already started coming off. I went back 2 days later to get them fixed and wait for 30 minutes because I couldnt wait any longer n ended up calling back the same day to try again n she said I can go in at a certain time and changed her mind n pushed for another hour. Very unprofessional! I didnt even get her name.

I made an appointment to have my hair styled for graduation, called to confirm my appt a few days before but the day of my appt- I was told, that my there was a miscommunication and no one to do my hair. the owners daughter was extremely professional and nice esp. since I was getting frustrated. they found a diff employee to come in and style my hair. she was nice at first, but than grilled me and made it seem as if I had lied about the whole situation and had even suggested that maybe I was thinking of the wrong salon. Definetly will not go back. if you have a special event, MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM YOUR APPT multiple times so you dont have to go through the frustration I did on such an important day!!

Samantha Loza Bellocapellidesigns Janine did not do the cut i had asked. I asked for a shoulder length hair cut with blonde hair color. My hair was at the middle of my back. My sister was there with me and heard me say shoulder length hair cut and blonde color. I didnt get that. My sister was telling janine what color and style of cut she wanted which was a bob or shorter. Well i got what my sister was saying. And i never asked to be humiliated. Cant go out any where i feel im ugly. Its ashamed to feel like this. I wanted a refund and no reply back. I would not refer no one to get their hair cut or colored there

I paid 45 dollars for the consultation and I wanted to proceed and book an appointment that same day but the lady (Briana) told me that I dont have to pay it now that I could pay later, so I said okay. She is very knowledgeable, she listens to what you want and she has great suggestions too! I am so excited to see her on Monday to work her magic! She makes sure Im as comfortable as can be under that heat ball I typically dread, offering a beverage and ottoman. You can tell an expert from an amateur not only by the cut and color skills but by the shampoo. I love her humor and conversation. Shes not a bore!! Shes funny and the whole experience is enjoyable. The salon is also very pleasing. Its clean, stylish, and ever-changing, so its like a new salon all the time! Worth every cent! I highly recommend Krystal...and shout out to Carolynn!

Sarah Chau This will be my first and last time at this salon. I went here on 12/11/18 for a balayage on my dark brown/black hair. A little about my hair: I had my hair darkened blue-black with henna 1 year ago. And obviously, its been faded away long ago since then, and now my hair is back to its natural color. Plus Ive been maintaining a short bob haircut until recently when I decided to grow it out, so Ive been trimming off the hair thats been affected by henna. I was styled by Krystal, who is a really friendly person but I think lacks skill and knowledge. It felt like she didnt put effort or care into my hair, and it definitely showed at the end result. My hair turned out ALMOST UNCHANGED from my original hair color, which I paid $170 for! I feel like she styled my hair in waves that day to cover up what a mediocre job she did. Even my friends thought I havent gone to the hair salon yet after my visit! I would expect a professional stylist to have the skills and knowledge to be able to treat all kinds of hair thrown their way, such as dark hair, henna, boxed dye, etc. I called the salon on 12/18/18 inquiring about my hair, and I spoke to Allison, the owner. She told me that with henna, results arent guaranteed, and made all sorts of excuses about henna. She kept interrupting me, and wouldnt let me speak on the phone. If she would have let me spoken, I could have told her that I used henna to darken my hair to a blue-black color, not lighten it. The blue-black color is pretty much nonexistent on my hair now. She also told me that if I wanted it to be fixed, her salon will charge me another $170 for it. My friends heard my phone call with Allison (my phone wasnt on speaker too), and could hear her interrupting and raising her voice at me, while I stayed calm. Allison told me I was welcome to come the the salon again so she could take a look at my hair, but I was too uncomfortable with the way she talked to me on the phone, and I didnt want to bring my business back to people who didnt know what they were doing. I was referred to another salon 40 mins away by my longtime friend who has been going there for years, and the stylist there was able to make my balayage idea happen! She put a lot of care into my hair, and worked hard for 4 hours but charged my the same price. Krystal only spent 2 hours on my hair and it definitely showed, because after a month since my visit here, my hair color looked patchy (see pic). I made the mistake of paying $170 in cash that day. I should have paid with credit card so I can dispute the charges and get a refund, saying that I wasnt given the service I had requested.

Selina Mendoza Everyone there was super friendly beautiful place and relaxing. Unfortunately I did not like how my hair came out the sad part about it my hairstylist noticed on my face expression and didn’t care to try to fix it :( . My hair was brown not black and yet it was a faded brown and yet the balayage still doesn’t look right with a nasty tone to my blonde. The hairstylist did what she wanted not what I wanted. I never write bad reviews because I know everyone has to bills to pay and is providing there services and time but truth is I was so unhappy. Last time going there.
