Alisha C My first experience at Kim and Co. was beyond lovely, the atmosphere, the entire staff and Kim herself were kind, compassionate and professional. I was recently in the hospital and due to a current health issue and I can’t get my back wet to shower or wash my hair properly. Kim herself thoroughly cleansed my scalp and double shampooed me, all the while letting me kvetch about my health issues. The way my hair felt and looked after getting cleansed was night and day, and furthermore she refused to let me pay! I will absolutely be going back as soon as I’m able for a full cut and styling. They have a parking lot, adorable exterior, and that delicious salon smell when you come in the door. I perused their selection of wonderful products in the front, ranging from skincare to hair products and they even had a small section for locally made knitwear and accessories. The staff is super helpful and the vibe was delightful. You will not regret visiting this salon, my mom regularly sees Vanessa for her haircuts and her hair is always looking so cute for her face shape and easy to style at home. Thank you Kim and Co. from the bottom of my heart, you made my week brighter and I feel like a new human with very clean hair.

Stephanie B. I started going to Kim for my hair needs the summer before my wedding. She is AMAZING. I have never had such a good cut in my life. I have very thick straight hair but she was able to make it look wonderful with out a lot of styling after I left. She put beautiful highlights in it for me too and I always got exactly what I asked for. This is not a hair artist that takes liberties with your hair, you get what you ask for the first time! All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. She did my hair and make-up for my wedding and I would not have had it any other way. Ive gotta say I think I looked pretty awesome! One of the girls did my nails for my wedding as well, I had no idea what she did was even possible! I had no idea they could take straight glitter and do just the tips of my nails! I even got to pick three different glitters to mix together and she made them "fade" the way I wanted them to. Two of my bridesmaids had theyre hair done for the wedding by two other stylists and they were very happy with the results as well. I would recommend them to any one!

Vickie Paulson I had a one hour facial and a 45 min. Massage. I would definitely recommend Sabrina to you. I had a wonderful facial and she gave me an amazing massage. Very friendly and professional. Warm massage bed added to my pleasant experience. The gal at the front desk was so very nice and informative. I cant wait to go back.

Adam Osborn I had a 1pm appointment. I am new to the area and had no idea how bad downtown parking was. I called to let them know I would be 5 minutes late. It took longer to find parking than I realized. I was 15 minutes late. They refused service and charged me $20 for not showing up. I asked to reschedule but they would not waive the $20 fee. The receptionist was extremely rude. I felt unwelcome and the receptionist couldnt care less about me as a customer. STAY AWAY unless you want to be treated terribly.

David Kesting Great guy spot for hair cuts. Barbers are big, heavy tattoo kind of guys so keep your attitude in check. They are good with kids provided the kids are well behaved. Book a reservation in advance.

Aaron McKim This is the best barbershop in SLO by far! Ive been going here for years and have got a consistently great haircut every time. Zach is my go to barber but all of them are great. Fun atmosphere, quality cuts, cool shop with clothes. This place is the best. Get your next cut here, you wont regret it.

Nelson Carmona I have been going to Marissa for my hair needs going on 8 months now and on each occasion shes delivered consistently amazing performance! Im always skeptical when it comes to finding a new stylist but all reservations were cast aside when I initially conveyed to Marissa what I wanted to accomplish. She has been cutting hair for well over 6 years and it shows in the attention to detail she provides for all her clients. Scheduling is always a breeze and Riss even goes as far as creating little reminders for my follow-up appointments. From the time of check in, to mixing color or the post haircut rinse-off, Marissa makes you feel assured every step of the way, checking-in periodically to ensure I was satisfied with the progress. Men tend to overlook the level of care and attention required with maintaining great, healthy looking hair. If you are determined on achieving those long hair goals I would recommend linking up with a stylist over a barber. I full heartedly endorse the work Marissa and the ladies over at Salon Elle produce and would recommend her to anyone.

Kimara Houseman Marissa is an amazing hair artist! I’ve been going to her for 6 years and have always been pleased. She really listens to your needs and works with you to get the results you want. It helps that she is always up on the latest trends but also knows what will work with your specific hair. The salon itself is adorable too :)

Amy Kay I met Marissa through a friend and have always admired her work from her posts. I had been loyal to my previous hair dresser for 5+ years but I always was eager to see what magic she could do on my hair as I have tricky, stubborn hair. I also loved the work she does on brides and bridesmaids. I knew I had to have her be my hair stylist on my Wedding day in September as well as all my bridesmaids! I was recently too long over due for a haircut and I thought why not try her out so she can see what she is working with when it comes to my wedding. I went in and she knew exactly what I wanted and needed without me saying much. Sure enough, my hair looked SO good. I felt refreshed and beautiful. She is so great at what she does, she makes it look effortless. My hair still looks great even on days that I dont put much effort into it. She is very flexible with her schedule when she has the ability too and her prices are great. Tomorrow she will be styling my hair for my engagement photo shoot. The salon is cute and quaint and Marissa is so sweet and friendly which makes for a nice overall experience. I highly recommend her to everyone and will definitely be returning to her.

elli foster Booked with Marissa a month in advance, even extended my out-of-state trip at an extra cost. She knew this, yet abruptly cancelled on Friday, when my appointment was the upcoming Wednesday. The decision to quit her job is understandable; life changes happen. However, I believe it would have been more professional to give me an earlier notice, which would have allowed me to make alternative arrangements. The lack of consideration was unprofessional.

Hana Serene Marissa is extremely talented at what she does. Unlike some hair stylists that do whatever they want to your hair, Marissa is excellent at listening to your requests and making them a beautiful reality. Her work speaks for itself. She is worth every penny!!!

Ruby Allen This is without a doubt the best salon I’ve ever been too. Brianna is amazing!! She’s so skilled and such a sweetheart! I had my hair professionally colored by her for the first time and she’s truly an artist!! My curls have never looked better, I couldn’t be more thrilled!

sarah richardson Eleven Eleven salon is hands down my favorite salon in San Luis Obispo. All the girls are amazing and the energy is always uplifting. Chanel is my go to, she specializes in blonding and I have dark brown hair so I need an expert! Def check her out, you won’t regret it!!

J V The Culture Salon is a hair haven. I told the owner, Janina, being there is like being on vacation. Janina is so talented and knowledgeable, a true master of her craft. 21 21 I just moved here a year ago, havent found my " fav" yet.. however... today I made a apt with Niki here at 3, and she was absolutely wonderful. Tika Rae Alison, the new owner, has really fixed up the place. It has curbside appeal now and the inside has been totally been updated. Which to me shows that she takes pride in her salon. I had my hair colored by her serval times and have never been dissatisfied. The salon now offers facials, so I decided to treat myself. John, the Facialist did an excellent job. He explained the products he was using prior to applying and took his time. I came out of the salon glowing. I will recommend both of them to my friends.

Skot R Ive been going to Sherry for about 6 years and she is awesome. Many places I had been to in the past had an odd procedure of washing your hair -- and then when your hair is soaked and plastered to your head -- they ask what you want to do. Um well... I could have showed you before it was washed, but now its kind of hard to describe... Sherry always does an interview with you while your hair is combed in the style you walked in with -- and then after discussing what you want she takes you back to get it washed. Shes so good that lately I just tell her to do whatever she thinks looks good and every time it comes out great. She really pays attention to the little things that makes YOUR hair unique. Conversation during the hair cut is never forced or awkward, its very fun and natural, like were sitting having coffee together. The salon has a very comfortable feel and everything is always clean. 544 and Sherry are just great in every way,

Kathy Mitchell Amy has been doing my color and cuts for the last several months. I found Salon 544 online and could not be happier. Amy is a great colorist, super friendly, and so fast - I have never had a better experience (and I have been getting my hair colored for a long time!). Gone are the days of spending 2+ hours in the salon. Her efficiency is a testament to her talent. I would highly recommend Amy!

Vanessa Miller-Prater The place is super cute and everyone is friendly! I had an appointment with Kate Sargent who did a wonderful job!! She has been doing hair for years and knows what she is doing as I had no idea what I wanted. I drove all the way from Visalia, the Valley, just to get my hair done and was totally worth the drive. They all follow CDC guidelines as well with the whole COVID thing going on. It was very clean and saw people sanitize their stations and their equipment after clients left.

Kinsey Moore Amy Miller did an amazing job on my hair for my wedding on June 8, 2024. She was so personable and easy to work with! She also made sure that my hair was not moving during a VERY windy ceremony! She also made my mom and mother-in-law feel like movie stars! I would absolutely recommend Amy for any special events!!

The Barber SLO seemed familiar and Ive realized there was a van parked near the freeway exit advertising it so I went to check it out. Must say I was very impressed. He kindly greeted me and showed me how to get in line, it was a nice warm welcoming. Comfortable seating area inside the shop as you wait for an opening. When my name was called I got seated with Dermot… This guy is top notch! Highly skilled, very organized, and impressive attention to detail. I’ve seen him every few weeks since. Super happy with my first experience at this shop and every visit thereafter. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Krista Sarraf Luckie has been cutting my hair for about a year and it’s the healthiest my hair has ever been. I never thought I could pull off long hair, but Luckie knows how to cut it to retain volume and shape.

E The most expensive haircut I have ever paid for for the WORST experience. Despite telling the stylist multiple times that she was pulling my hair, she continued to tug. The most awkward part was paying for it at the end and being asked "Would you like to tip?" and feeling obliged to tip. I never leave reviews but I would not recommend going here. I paid nearly $100 to get my hair yanked over and over today. For that much money, I expected my wishes as a customer to be respected but it seemed like the stylist had her way of doing things that she prioritized over my experience.

Devin Scattini Luckie was patient and extremely knowledgeable. I brought her a dumpster fire and she worked miracles. I enjoyed how much she tailored my visit around my hair needs. She analyzed what was contributing to my hair disaster and offered solutions on how to maintain and keep it healthy. She cares about her art and pours her "all" into her work.

Erika Jones I love this salon so much. Ive never had a better haircut or experience than with Luckie. She listens and invests her time and care in your hair journey, offering honest and well thought out suggestions. And shes an absolute artist with her scissors. I moved away but after 2 unsatisfying haircuts from local salons, Ive decided Luckie and her team of geniuses are worth a 9 hour drive.

Ashley Beels Sammi Jo at Central Coast Hair Co is THE HAIR DOCTOR. I came to her after a 10-hour blonding service done at another salon. Refer to first photo “before”. That is what my hair looked like after 10 hours and hundreds of dollars later at another salon. After 6 hours of a color correction with the hair doctor, Sammi, you can see I left with actually lighter hair, and no strips. Now, a year later we have gotten more and more blonde. She also did a great job chopping my hair for a cute long bob! No damage. Healthy healthy hair! Beautiful salon too, very luxurious. Although to be honest, I’d sit outdoors in a shoe box if that’s where Sammi wanted to style me.

Toni Mayes This salon is not what they claim. There is nothing “luxe” or high end about it. I brought pics of a long and textured bobs and got a butchered choppy old lady bowl cut by Nikki. She seemed inexperienced and rushed. I had previously stopped in to find out out who the best cutter would be for this cut as you need to know what you’re doing. I was rushed through it and she didn’t seem to care about what I was asking for or the pics of myself or models I brought. She quickly hacked away and now I have at least 6 months to grow out and will have to have someone fix it. I actually had to yell stop at one point as she was about to cut the front corners off of the bob. Terrible shape and bad technique. She had to search the salon for a curling iron to style it as well. Really? The salon does not feel professional or friendly at all especially when compared to their website model. Erin sat in her chair looking at her phone when I mentioned I had inquired about her as well and she seemed to care less. Barely looked up. Also for a Friday at 12:30 the salon was empty which is pretty unusual for most quality in demand salons. I will never return for any services and for the first time in 30 years I am so sad about my hair that I usually pay $500 per service for. This cut was cheap $75 and I guess I learned my lesson. I got what I paid for.

Jena Beck Spoke SLO is fortunate to employ some of the most talented artists on the central coast. They offer a top of the line, personalized experience at affordable rates. My personal favorite? Lindsay Strawn. If I had to sum Lindsay up in three words: Attention to Detail (and an amazingly genuine human being!). She’s been my stylist for over seven years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Lindsay is attentive, receptive, and takes her time to perfect my cut/color. Michelle Clemmensen I have had my hair cut and styled and colored by Maggie Lewelling for years and she does an excellent job I would not go to anyone else. She is always on time and very professional. I love how she styles it and the colors that she does is amazing. I always get a lot of compliments after I go there and I always tell everyone who does my hair and I hope that she gets more business because of that as she is very deserving. I will not go anywhere else as she is great at her job!! Thank you Maggie!!!

STEPHANIE HAMBLEN I have been going to Maggie Lewelling at Spoke Salon for years and every time I tell her that this is my favorite cut and color ever! I have gone short, long, layered, highlighted, colored, etc. and I have loved everything Maggie has done. Lori Balash In March 2024, my husband and I walked into the salon and talked to the receptionist to make an appointment to get my hair done for our son’s wedding in October. I explained that this would be the last time I would be in California before the wedding as we live in Ohio. She told me no problem and made the appointment for October 12th at 10am with Alexa. She even gave me a reminder card and I thought I was all set. Three weeks before the wedding, I called to confirm. Day of wedding at 9:50 am, I walked into the salon, was told I had no appointment… nothing anyone can do…. And oh, I’m sorry but I have a client waiting for me… WHAT???? If I could give you minus stars I would! Unbelievable!!

Kimberly Hardesty I have nothing but good things to say about bluebird salon. I started seeing Mariah in 2021. My hair was fried and broken. She helped me save my hair and now it is long and healthy! Not to mention coming into the salon is always a relaxing experience. Mariah did my hair for my wedding and it was absolutely GORGEOUS. My mom also comes to Mariah and absolutely loves her. She does her extensions and has transformed her hair. My dad started seeing Cindy in late 2021 and sees her every other week for a cut. He also loves coming into the salon and Cindy is amazing with him. My grandma started coming in around 2022 and started seeing Cindy/Mihai. She is 90 years old and they are so accommodating for her. They never rush and always make sure to take their time. This salon is a gem and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and professional environment.

I often need help decided what to do with my hair and I’ve come to say “in Bunni we trust”.
