Maribel Mullins Ive been seeing Gina monthly for the last 9 years at Studio 2325. She is my hair colorist for life! Ive been to other salons, but Gina knows her stuff when it comes to colors, brands, etc. I have pesky greys and without Gina, I would look 20 years older. She knows when to add the highlights and when to darken it for the season. I just tell her whats going on for the month in my life and she knows what colors to use (job interview, party, vacation, formal ball, etc). Gina also cuts my hair. Im grateful because theres been times when I walk in and say, "Chop it all off, Im sick of my hair!!" and she has the wisdom to keep me from making such rash decisions. Ive come back the next month thanking her for talking sense into me. :) I go to Ana for hair styles. When I need an updo Ana does a WONDERFUL job!! Every Christmas I attend a company formal Christmas party and Ana is my go-to hairstylist. I show her the dress Im wearing and she can whip out a fancy hair updo in less than an hour. I always feel like the belle of the ball with her updos. The ladies at the salon make you feel very welcomed and its a great environment. I love they dont push products and they will give you suggestions if you ask.

Libby Yatsu Ive been going to Jamie at Maison Deux for many years now, and every time I leave I feel amazing (whether its getting any of these done: root color, cut, balayage). Amazing cuz of how I look and feel but also its just a great place to spend a couple hours too. All of the stylists are so welcoming, and there is a definite friendly vibe had by all. Jamie is of the best, and her work says it all! She always greets me with a smile, and I just love how down-to-earth she is. Another fun perk too - getting served tea, coffee, water - while youre waiting for dye processing etc. Oh and the salon, now under Jamie, has upgraded all of the hair washing stations. I was literally in heaven. They are these fancy beds basically so youre lying flat instead of having to angle your head downwards. Felt so much better on my back. I highly recommend Maison Deux for the work the stylists do and the friendly atmosphere. You cant beat the fact too that its right in downtown San Mateo so you can run errands and grab lunch/dinner at your favorite spot there too!

Sheila Moore Absolutely BEAUTIFUL salon with a spotlessly "clean" and ZEN-balanced vibe and decor. As a brand new client who was referred by a friend to see OWNER and STYLIST JAMIE at Maison Deux Salon, for highlights, I experienced SUPERB customer service and very PLEASING hair treatment results. JAMIE is a TOP NOTCH professional in her field which is immediately apparent the minute you sit in her salon chair. Not only is Jamie personable and welcoming the minute you meet her, she also possesses a confident "take charge" hair advice styling appeal which is critical for people like myself who sometimes have difficulty communicating with the risk of causing confusion about what it is Im looking/hoping for!!! Jamie proved that she must certainly be a mind reader because she NAILED my color and Im tremendously happy with the results of her "art". "Leadership by example" always starts at the top for me and given my experience at Maison Deux, it was very telling that excellence in customer service and clientele satisfaction are a top priority at this salon. A picture paints a thousand words - I couldnt help but notice each stylist having a lovely rapport with their client which instantly signaled to me how special this salon is. Im so elated that I was "directed" to Maison Duex in San Mateo and of course JAMIE! I highly appreciate and recommend this wonderful hair salon and I look forward to many more enjoyable visits with the complete ease of mind knowing that my exceptionally dependable hair stylist is a "CLASS A" performer! Lisa Pusin This place is absolutely fantastic! I have had several haircuts and styles done here and the atmosphere is always clean, there is complimentary water and hot drinks, but most of all the service and care to my hair is always at 100%. I learn a lot about how to take care of my hair and always enjoy my conversations with my stylist! Definitely check this place out for your next cut or hair needs!

Norma Formanek I reviewed Les Amis years ago, am still their faithful client and so heres an update. Jocelyn colors and cuts my hair, which is kind of tricky as my natural color is red which does not grey well. Jocelyn has found a wonderful combination of high- and low-lights that look fantastic. Ive got some color but it doesnt look at all like Im trying to hide my age. She is also a completely delightful person. Im not the only person who raves about Jocelyn so be sure to book early (I now book a full year in advance). Thanks to everyone at Les Amis but particularly Jocelyn.

Julie Lynn Jackie was awful. Had a 3:00, she called asked me to come at 3:30.. then called and said 4:00. I arrived at 4:00 and she wasn’t close to done. At 4:20, she was still taking photos of her previous client while I sat there waiting. Every professional hairstylist I’ve seen, the first time, the hairstylist wants to see your hair dry and how curly it is and how it calls. Jackie is clearly not a professional. She told me (85 minutes late) to go wash my hair without her even looking at it. Her previous clients hair wasn’t cut straight and the ends not being curled stuck out and I thought looked terrible. After waiting 90 minutes after my appointment, seeing Jackie’s previous client’s hair, and Jackie’s very unprofessional attitude. I just walked out. Jackie didn’t even care.

Courtney Tai Love this place! They’re super gentle while washing and massaging your hair, they consistently check in during the process to make sure the length is ok, and overall this place has a great atmosphere! I’ve had Jackie the past few times and she’s amazing. Great vibes and service! The free parking lot is also a plus.

Leanne Woodall This was my second haircut at Les Amis salon & the first time Maria was my stylist. I brought a couple pictures of hair style ideas & we decided on one that would work well for me. Maria was awesome! She checked in several times to make sure I was happy with the length. Shes a great stylist, easy to chat with & I was thoroughly happy with my new style. Will definitely return!

Erika Pano Panagiotopoulos I’ve been going to Les Amis Salon et Spa for over a decade + always have positive experiences. Jocelyn is an excellent + experienced stylist! D T I usually come here to pamper myself every so often with the Japanese rock" hairstyle look. Although they might be a little pricier, I can guarantee the moment I walk out of the salon, I will not cry. Aki has done my hair in the past, however she just moved back to Japan. Now, Im getting my haircut from Keiko? Again, I come here every 5 months and every experience has been great. Lastly, I wish there were more Japanese hairstylist out in the east/southbay area, just saying

Olivia Salva I have been here twice for color and haircut. The service is ok although what I did not like was the additional services they would suggest and then charge at the end. The stylist does not ask - he simply tells you what your hair needs and then charges insane prices afterwards.

ValerieWT Emily is a magician with my hair which has serious issues. Love the casual yet busy shop. I have had all 5 stylists over the years and they are each very talented. Feels like family.

Vinod Gupta I visited this place for Man’s hair cutting. I was attended by Ms Henna who came to USA from Vietnam. Before starting I gave instructions how to cut my hairs on sides & back most as I have very less hairs on main head almost going baldness here. It is really very appreciable that She understood my requirement without any doubts. She undertook the assignment with utmost perfection. I wish Mayfair hair & nail for best business in future.

y s The lady who did my haircut was very friendly, but apparently she has little to no experience. She made my haircut weird. The right was longer than the left, and some random hairs were much longer. I doubt she is new and has not taken professional training yet. I dont think its a good idea to practice on your customers before finishing essential training.

Danny Shih Ladies are all nice there. No frill, not fancy, really not sure how sanitary it is.. but being going there for years and don’t think ever terrible happened to me even if not sanitary as I just get my haircut done and nothing else. I like they wash and give you a quick scalp massage as part of your haircut. Great value and the ladies all being there a long time.

J Louie Ive been to Mayfair twice now. Super friendly service both times. I really appreciate that I got a pre-cut hair wash and a post-cut wash. I set up an appointment and was done in 25 min. The cost is also very reasonable if youre looking for a good haircut.

Samarth Ahuja Victor is amazing. His 10+ years of experience can speak for itself, but I had to go out of my way to leave a review because I’m genuinely thankful for such a great cut. Been to many barbers in the area but his cut is one of a kind!

Katherine Van Leeuwen Too expensive for women’s haircuts. My haircut took a bit less than 15 minutes. Was a simple 2 inch trim, no layers. No shampoo or blow dry. And cost FORTY FIVE DOLLARS. The man who was getting his hair cut at the same time as me took more time, had a more complicated haircut, but only paid $27. $45 is a salon price. This was a quick in and out barber. When I asked why it was so much, I was told “all women are 45 and up”, that’s all. I was hoping this could be my regular every-8-weeks but at $45 a pop for a 15 minute haircut, no way! The haircut was solid and Maria was great, but I won’t be back.

DXB Matin I recently moved to Burlingame and was glad to find a very welcoming neighborhood barber at V&C Hair Salon. I’ve been there a few times and haven’t looked for anywhere else to go because I get the cut I want without the rush.

Lucho Bravo Maria is an experienced hairstylist that has specialized in childrens haircuts for over 20 years. She was patient, diligent, and did a great job with our grandson. We would recommend her, and certainly would go back to her.

Matthew Cox I get my regular mens hair cuts here. Victor is great and consistently does a good job for a very fair price. Appreciate having a reliable, local option.

Danya Ameerah It was AWFUL. They ruined my nails and hair. They cut a lot of my hair off even though I didn’t ask (I asked for a trim). The lady was so rude. I kept telling her what I wanted and she insisted on still giving her opinion and doing what she wanted. It’s my HAIR and she still did what SHE wanted. Like WHAT?? Don’t go there and save urself. trust me.

Liva C There are really skilled people working in this salon and they show care and patience in dealing with the customer’s hair. I am not too sure about the products they use but it never showed any adverse effects on me.

Tara Robenalt Lee is an exceptional colorist and stylist! She created a beautiful highlight that complemented my natural hair color beautifully! I do not want to color or hide my incoming gray and she matched a blonde tone beautifully. Eliminated the yellows from a previous highlight. Daniella did a fantastic job on my gel french manicure. The base color is a beautiful glossy pink.

Christine Fraher So happy to have finally found a nice, gentle, careful, and detail oriented nail tech in a beautiful, big, and fun salon in the Bay Area!! I can’t recommend Ale (short for Alessandra I believe) enough for your nails. She was very gentle and careful with my hands and was a perfectionist in shaping my nails and even made my acrylic tips thin and finely tipped! My nails feel and look elegant and functional (and NOT chonky and unusable) I spent $50 before tip for an acrylic fill which took 2 hours from start to finish. I have always feared getting my nails done because more often than not, nail techs I’ve gone to in the bay area have been aggressive and careless leaving me with cut fingers, damaged nail beds, and an irritated mood. Getting your nails done should feel like a treat and with Ale at this salon, it is!! The other nail techs working around me were all very friendly and would come to check on me from time to time. The atmosphere here is not only beautiful and aesthetic, but also very cheerful and relaxing. I will definitely be back!

I asked for a brown hair color, basically a return to my natural color and I used my hair strands to express what I was looking for, I try to express it using the book the provided with the hair samples, and the lady kept focusing on my gray and looking confused. I ended up with black hair. There was so much back and forth on what services I was getting—so much! I was there for 3.5 hours! In their defense, they offered to fix my hair color, which is pitch black, but I’m too scared of giving them a second chance.

Ben Selle Vince is the best! I hadn’t had a proper haircut in about a year, and I was in and out of the salon in 20 minutes with one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had! I showed a couple pictures of what I wanted and Vince hit it spot on. And the pricing is crazy good!

Xinyi Lu My husband has had his hair cut here before and I decided to give it a try. I went for a trim and to get my layers refreshed. I asked for face framing layers and a u shaped back. Everything was going fine, or so I thought. After the wash and cut the stylist began blow drying it. Then without warning he started BUTCHERING my hair with thinning shears. I did not want my hair thinned and he did not ask before using them. I said I wanted layers and did NOT want my hair thinned. That only works on pin straight hair and unlike most East Asians I have wavy hair. Half of my hair is gone and will take forever to grow out. I attached pictures: one of my hair a few months ago, and one the day after the cut so you can see how much volume was taken off without asking. Both are my unstyled natural hair. 说了不要打薄 还是打薄 大半头发都没了 伤心死了

Sara Nouri Golmaei I highly recommend japanese treatment at Hair Logic. The price is reasonable. However, I don’t have a good experience with hair coloring. I dyed my hair twice and it never turned out the color I asked for. When you ask for haircuts, empathize you don’t want it short.

VV C Unfortunately had a really bad experience here - I think may they do some Asian haircuts well, but not if one has thicker coarser hair. Even if you bring a photo, it seems that what you request is disregarded, and they default to cutting your hair the only way they know how. I had a shoulder length blunt bob haircut that had grown out and needed to be trimmed. I had a photo of myself for reference and said I did not want many layers. I trusted the stylist, but when I was done, my hair was too short, at least an inch more than I had asked for. Furthermore, so much volume was taken out and so many layers made that my hair just lies limp and makes my head look like a ball. It has now been almost a month and is still too short. The layers are a mess and will take even longer to grow out and fix.

Inge Tiegel This salon is usually always busy with appointments highly recommended. I have Elizabeth style my hair as its very fine and thin, but it seems like the other stylists are well liked as well. Give the salon a call and ask them for a recommendation!

He truly listens and asks questions to ensure he understands exactly what I want. His great attitude and constant smile make everyone feel welcome. Lenny takes his time to make sure I’m completely satisfied with my haircut, and I’ve never felt rushed. Plus, prices are fair - especially compared to crazy prices charged in California salons. Suraksha Makam I had a uplifting experience after my hair cut. I would recommend going to Nazbeen. She was kind enough to accomodate me despite her tight schedule. Loved being pampered there. Just one regret that the blow out lasted for less than a day despite all care to not hair come in touch with water.

Zeph Zeng Daisy has been my stylist for almost 15 years. I have followed her to 4 different hair studios on that time because shes worth it. She has cut everything from longer "scene kid" cuts in my teen years to mohawks for a yearly event my friend group does, to clean fades for work. Currently its about 90 minutes for me to drive to her, but I happily do it every 8-10 weeks because my hair looks great. Im a fitness professional so aesthetics are very important for my industry. This business is blessed to have her as an employee and I expect many new customers will get to experience the reason I have stuck to her like glue all this time. 20/10 for service, skill, and professionalism.

William Lui This is a review for Days (Daisy). I had been searching for a new barber eversince my last ones were either out of business or just stopped. She has been the most consistent with her skill. Cuts, presentation, great conversations were had while not distracted at all. Shes just a great rounded, and skilled barber. I will be visiting her soon when my hair gets long again. The drive is worth it!

She took the time to listen and then based my haircut on my hair and desired style. That is a sign of someone who is great at what they do and really care. Jennifer Teu JC gave my 17-year-old a truly perfect cut. His hair can be tricky because it’s slightly wavy and has unexpected body. But the results were amazing. The salon is modern and clean, and the owner’s advice on stylists was spot on. Scheduling via Yelp was super easy. Men’s cuts are $45 cash, $47 credit. There’s a cute cafe next door if you arrive early.

Tati Martinez Do not go here. I went in with somewhat faded/grown out red hair to get chunky caramel highlights and a layered cut, with a reference picture. None of the employees spoke very fluent English, so it took a little back and forth to figure out what the plan was to get my hair similar to the picture- even so, they said “we can only try our best- it won’t be 100% [like the picture].” That should have been my red flag to get up and leave. The hairdresser took 3 hours bleaching portions of my hair for the highlights part. Then, after already shampooing my hair after toner, they decided to dump black hair dye on top of the highlights they just did. The dye was left on for about 3 minutes before washing out, but left my entire head jet black- no sign of any highlights that he spent 3 hours on. When cutting my hair, I asked for bangs and he straight up said “No”. As he was blow drying/straightening my hair to finish up, he and the salon owner kept trying to show me the “highlights” in the mirror (again, my hair is jet black.), assuring me that after 2-3 washes and “in the sunlight” the color would lighten. I’ve gotten my hair done enough to know black hair dye does not do that. I left and received a text an hour later that if I was still unhappy with the color after 2-3 washes, I could come back and they would fix it for free. After initially taking up this offer, I followed up with questions to see if I could get a refund if I still was not satisfied with my color after returning; the owner kept saying they did not offer refunds, and she would “not have reached out if they knew they couldn’t fix it”. We went back and forth for a while before I obliged and agreed to come back for a second appointment to get it fixed. 2 hours later they refunded me and cancelled said appointment. Huge waste of my time and their time. 1.5 stars is being generous. The .5 for refunding me and not making it worse.

Leslie Cook I recently visited Sunesy Hair Design for a color service and unfortunately, I left extremely disappointed. My goal was to get a handful of babylights around my crown in two tones (blonde and caramel) and blonde money pieces to frame my face, similar to a "salted caramel" look I had in mind. I showed the stylist, Manny, a photo (attached below) for reference. As background, Ive had a balayage done before two years ago at a mid-tier salon in Virginia. Since then, Ive had focused babylights done at a more convenient local salon in Virginia, where Ive never had any issues with this approach to updating my balayage. Ive also been to Sunesy Hair Design before and they did great job with my haircuts in the past. Despite showing a reference photo, Manny ended up doing babylights all over my head in a mix of blonde and caramel--far from the subtle, focused babylights and face-framing money pieces I requested. About 30 minutes into the service, I had a feeling that something was off, but I didnt speak up. Unfortunately, the end result was so far from what I had envisioned that I wore a baseball cap for the rest of the day. I had to visit another salon the next day for a color correction, and while they fixed a lot of the mistakes, Ill likely need another color service in 8-12 weeks to fully address the excess blonde babylights. While the babylight technique at Sunesy was fine, I cannot recommend this salon for balayage or highlight services. It seemed like there was a fundamental misunderstanding--whether due to a language barrier or something else--and even with a reference photo, they did not deliver the look I wanted. I would have preferred they honestly let me know if they couldnt achieve the result I was after, rather than proceeding with a $360 service that left me so dissatisfied.

Lily Xiao Ive been going to this place for my haircut routine since this year. Manny is amazing! He does his job so well and surprises me each time with my new hairstyle. And he is really skilled, he can get your haircut done with high quality but almost only consumes half of the time compared to other places that I went before. They offer scalp, neck and shoulder massages and hot towels to help you relax when they wash your hair. They recently renovated their space and its bright and cozy. I enjoy going there each time.

He completely fixed my haircut, and now it looks so much better. I’m much happier with it! Aaron was also incredibly thorough in explaining how to maintain and take care of my hair, which I really appreciated. It’s clear that he’s knowledgable and takes the time to ensure his clients leave feeling their best. I’ll definitely be coming back for future appointments, highly recommend!

John Armenta I really enjoy coming here for a haircut. Betty does a great job, she know mens hair styles. She does a great scalp massage when she washes your hair prior to your haircut. I highly recommend her when you want a superior haircut experience.

Joyce Oliver Love these women. Owned by daughter of Don, who founded and ran the beauty School on B St in San Mateo, Dons Salon, until its closing some years ago. The hairdressers who work there now worked at the beauty school. Lyn is a genius with hair color, Dolly is great with older ladies, and Laura is my favorite stylist. Her sister Betty is the 4th person. They do both mens and womens hairstyling.
