alexandra silverstein Mirabella did an amazing job cutting and coloring my hair. She also cut my boyfriend’s hair and he said it was the best hair cut he has ever had and I agree! We wanted to keep his hair but it was looking very shaggy when we came in, she was confident that she could cut it right and ofcourse she knew exactly how to do it. We both love our hair now and have had a lot of compliments.

Allyn Aesthetics As a salon owner I am extra choosy when it comes to trusting someone with my hair. I visit Santa Barbara all the time but its been years since I had a trusted stylist here. Sima is an absolute genius and if I could Id whisk her back to Nashville with me! She so expertly developed a plan for both cut and color that she knew would fit my style, face shape, lifestyle, and profession and I couldnt be happier. Theres nothing like the confidence that comes from great hair and I am so thankful to have found this gem. I will be back as soon as I can!

A Ruse I was in town visiting my mom, and needed a last minute haircut after I missed my appointment with my regular lady. Thankfully Aundrea was able to squeeze me in on short notice. Haircut and blowout look great! Im very happy with it.

Luis Valencia I rarely write reviews, but I have to share my awesome haircut experience with Sima. Let me start by saying that Im a 27 year old man and moved to Santa Barbara last year. Ive been struggling to find a haircut facility/artist that could cut my hair the way I wanted. I tried a couple of barber shops and salons prior to this one, but was never truly satisfied until I now. Sima was awesome from the moment I stepped through the door. She offered me coffee and listened to my requests while providing feedback. She asked lots of questions and made sure she fully understood what I wanted. As she was cutting my hair, she explained what she was doing and the effects of each cutting tool and technique she was using. After the haircut, we finished up with a shampoo, head massage, and a styling. One of the best haircuts Ive gotten in a long time. I will be making her my exclusive stylist in Santa Barbara. I paid $50 + tip and it was worth every penny.

Anchal Sharma I found this place going through online reviews and I am glad I chose Underground Hair Artists. My stylist was Sima and she was amazing, kind and patient with me. She did a great job both cutting and coloring my hair. She took time consulting and discussing to better understand what I wanted and delivered it. I got a layered haircut and then blue/purple balyage... Defintely recommend this place!

Meghan Brown We rented the backroom for my wedding, and our experience was exceptional. The staff were fun and generous, we played music and danced. It was comfortable for all of us to hang out. Our makeup was flawless and they really made the day special for me!

Paige Thompson I had them do my hair for the wedding, and it turned out more beautiful than I could’ve imagined. Lisa was my stylist. I did a trial in their back room, which is super cute and newly done. I had my wedding at a venue, and they came to do our hair there on site. Lisa did such an amazing job on my hair, and she even helped me change my hair for the reception. Her assistant helped all my bridesmaids with touchups. The assistant was so willing to help with any style they wanted, as well as just curling or helping put flowers in their hair. I wouldn’t have had anyone else do our hair for our special day. I highly highly recommend!!!

Katrina Plummer I had a great experience at Carlyle Salon. I was not home and badly needed a cut. Chandler recommended a cut that would work for my face shape and hair type. She also answered all of my hair questions :) I wish I lived in SB and would come here regularly. Highly recommended!

Dana Marie Christensen I got married earlier this month and used the Corner Room at the Carlyle salon with JaNice and Yannely as the stylists and had the best experience getting ready. The room itself is not only beautiful with great lighting (perfect for pictures), but also very spacious and comfortable. We had 7 people and everyone had a tons of space to sit, spread out, relax, and get ready. The salon provided tea, coffee, juice, champagne, and breakfast and the salon staff consistently checked on us to clean up and provide refills. They also had an audio system that was easy to connect to via bluetooth for setting the perfect ambiance. JaNice and Yannely worked quickly and efficiently, often ahead of schedule while also creating beautiful looks for everyone. This is much better than getting a hotel and hiring hair/makeup artists to come on site. Highly recommend if youre getting married in Santa Barbara!

Emilee Gastelum The Corner Room at Carlyle Salon was the perfect spot for my bridal party and me to get ready before my wedding! Carlyle has fantastic hair & makeup teams, but I was able to bring in my own hair & makeup gals, which worked perfectly. The reservation process was easy, communication was thorough, and the day-of experience was a dream! The Carlyle team had the room ready for us when we arrived and it was gorgeous! They placed fresh flower arrangements inside and provided us with water, champagne, and beautiful drink ware. We were also able to bring in some of our own snacks & refreshments. The space has perfect natural light for photos and ample seating in addition to the vanity stations with salon chairs. The room is also equipped with a sound system and you can connect with your phone to play your own music. It was comfortable but felt special at the same time. If you are looking for a great place to get ready for a wedding or other special event, look no further. The Corner Room was an absolute dream!

I was a little apprehensive about going for the budget option here just top keep my price point the same... and my fears seemed to have been realized. The stylist was nice, but my haircut right to left is uneven. Its not bad enough that Id go back in for a fix, but I wont be returning to this store.

Sean Kelly I am not complicated when it comes to my hair. Just make me look good. I am really happy with the friendly stylists as well as their attention to detail. They trim my eyebrows too! Highly recommended for the shaggy headed people who want to look better. All of the stylists are good, but Betty was great today. Always fun to talk to!

Mary Ellen Civiello Alan is always so welcoming towards me as well as accommodating to all of my needs. He uses the product I requested which is ammonia- free Schwartzkopf, dyes my eyebrows, keeps my hair healthy with a trim each month and offers me tea with honey every time. :) Honestly, Urban Salon is the best beauty parlor in Santa Barbara and Alan, the owner, is an outstanding hair stylist. I feel lucky to have found him!

Yessica Yomely Alan is an amazing hairstylist. He knows exactly what style is good for you. He is very creative. He has very good communication skills and speaks with you in a friendly and courteous manner. The most important thing is that he pays attention to details and he is very clean and neat. He offered me water, tea and some snacks. The place is big plus it has parking lot. Alan always keeps the place with a good vibration and makes you feel like if youre at home. If youre looking for someone that makes you feel unique and comfortable this is the place. I totally recommend.

Reid Kerr Alan is the best! For a mens haircut, he notices all the details and always does awesome work. Youll find the shop very friendly and well designed. I drive from Hollywood to visit Santa Barbara, and I try to book with Alan each visit. Far and away, a better haircut and better value than any stylist around Hollywood. Nathan Ramos This is a great place located off Figueroa kind of near Lilac Bakery. Ive been going to them a long time and theyve always done a great job. Everyone in the salon has always been very friendly and professional. I very much trust and appreciate the work they do. Its hard to find a good stylist who you like and trust and that does a great job. I would recommend anyone to come to this place. No doubt.

M I Salim is the best. He has been cutting and coloring my 85 yo moms hair and mine for over a year and we couldnt be happier. He listens to what we want, makes suggestions when needed and we have never been happier. My mom has extremely fine hair and always has scalp showing. He cut it in a way that noone ever did before and 3 curls with curling iron is all she needs to do at home and it looks like shes got a head of thick hair. The style is fantastic. He also said if there is anything we arent happy with come back and hell fix it no charge. There was nothing to fix. For my hair, I have thick, long,frizzy/curly hair and had been trying since for about a year to get a Burgundy red in my dark brown hair. Salim is the 4th person in town I went to to do this and to cut it with more style. Ill never go to anyone else. My hair is finally exactly how I want it and looks better than Id imagined. Salim came highly recommended and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Nice safe atmosphere. Comfortable wash bowls/chairs. Easy parking. Enter from pkg lot. Entrance is in back.

Shane Dixon DISCLAIMER: I have only been to Walter Claudio to have my hair cut, and cannot speak to their ability in regards to styling, coloring, or other services I have been getting my hair cut here since I was 4 years old. I have only ever gotten 2 cuts I didnt like. All of the cutters are friendly, professional, skilled, and give great service. Your hair is washed, and they often walk you through exactly what theyre doing and check in regularly to make sure your cut is perfect. If you have to wait before your cut, (which is rare,) you are offered refreshments. Not just does Walter Claudio offer great service, but a great atmosphere. The building has a unique style with exposed brick walls and air duct system, and the walls are always filled with amazing paintings and vintage photographs. So long as youre willing to pay $30-$50 for a haircut, you wont find better in Santa Barbara.

They were able to take me in the same day I called. They knew exactly what I wanted; worked around my existing highlights, and gave me a cut that blew my mind! Not even 24hrs, and already receiving many compliments!! Brook is AMAZING!! Super detailed, attentive, and one of the sweetest people I’ve met! As is everyone there! The salon is beautiful, clean and sanitized, and cozy looking. LOVE MY CUT, and definitely going back!

My bangs look a bit ridiculous now and did not give me the layers I asked her to. She also did not thoroughly blowdry my hair, leaving crimped bumps all over my hea .

Jessica Judson I waited way too long to book an appointment for a hairstylist on my wedding day (who knew you had to do that 3+ months in advance...lol) but luckily Salon Del Mar still had availability on my date. I did not do a hair trial so I was a bit nervous that morning but the stylist was super helpful and very professional. I showed her some pictures of the type of up-do I was thinking and as she went she would ask if I would rather have option A or B when it came to some of the smaller details. I LOVED how my hair turned out for the wedding and it lasted perfectly all day. I had my hair done at noon and when I took it out around 1am it still looked surprisingly good (also despite the entire wedding being outdoors and taking wedding party pictures on the bluffs where it was windy!). Would definitely recommend Salon Del Mar to other brides!

I worked with Brie, a talented and creative colorist, who took the time to ensure my color was absolutely perfect. She worked with great care to protect my super fine hair, using techniques that prioritized its health. I was so happy with the result that I ended up hugging Blair! I’ve now found my forever colorist in Brie. Highly recommend!

Shyila c Went in to get my roots bleached and they left it patchy and uneven. Some parts were still black from my natural color. They refused to rebleach it to fix it because my “hair would break” even though I told them it was healthy enough to survive a second bleaching. Had to fix it myself at home. Not worth $110

He takes his time to do your favorite haircut and never rushing. I will recommend this place and ask for Ivan

Dwight Butler This place is on Carillo and is a block over from Barbareno. Pretty centralized location. I came in for a trim. This hairstylist is excellent. She was able to assess me very quickly and what would look good. I was looking for a new style but wasnt sure at all what to get. I had a few photos of some styles that I liked. We talked about it and she made some recommendations. Im glad I listened to her because she was totally right. I really love the new cut. Thank you!

Kaley Lopez I’m not one to complain nor write negative review. I’m a very understanding person and understand there are cancellations, however this was not the case. I’ve never had a bad experience with Gabby, in fact, I have always left satisfied until recently. This past weekend I had an appointment with her at 2 and it was something I have been looking forward for the past 2 months since I scheduled this in the beginning of April. I haven’t had my hair done in ages and the timing of my appointment couldn’t have been more perfect since I have a wedding coming up. I was utterly devastated when Gabby did not show up. Not only was it unprofessional, I felt absolutely disrespected. To make matters worse, I texted her and she never responded. If she had just taken the time to respond, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review but that was obviously too much to ask for. With the level of skills, it’s shocking how she lacks professionalism and doesn’t seem to comprehend the concept of time and how I took time out of my day for this appointment for me just to be sitting there for an hour. If you’re planning to book at this salon, go for it! But if you’re planning to book with Gabby just know that she is unorganized and does not value your time whatsoever. And know that I am not the first person she has done this to, I have heard other stories from her other clients as well so beware.

Jessica Byrne I have never found someone to do my hair reliably, but once Sacha did my hair I knew I would keep coming back. She does absolutely beautiful bayalage, gives great cuts and styling! One time I decided to go a bit different with red, and she did great at communicating exactly what her plan was, it came out great! I have very thick hair but she never complained about it, and shes great to chat to also. As long as I live in Santa Barbara, Ill be going to Sacha.

Ive known Jennifer and enjoyed her styling for well over a decade and shes consistently on it. Accommodating, knowledgeable, skilled, gifted, and such a pleasure to sit and chat with while she works her magic on my crazy wild hair. 10/10♥

Lana Evans I wanted to brighten my hair and showed the picture with special remarks- I want to be bright blonde not grey or platinum. I spent there 4(!) hours . They tried 4 different colors. At first 3 times the result was horrible- dull grey/silver color! I showed up with light hair but they made it much darker grey. I was in tears. It were 3 women trying to do correction. Only the 4-th time made my hair look like blonde. I don’t like the attitude of these women- they were annoying with me and tried to prove that grey hair which they made look like like bright blonde! And one of them just trimmed the back of my hair didn’t touch front or sides. Anyway the price for their horrible job was $270! My hair is fine and 4 chemicals treatments made a lot of damage. I don’t recommend this hair salon !

Asia Ramos-Turon Dude! After having gone through a few hair salons for bleach/color (after usually DIYing bleach/color at home the majority of the time), Ive found the perfect hair salon in SB! Jacky definitely took great care of me. I received a lot of good advice for aftercare & whatnot. All of the people I interacted with were super friendly & inviting. Luv Hennessy It’s my first time here and my first time ever going to a salon, I’m always afraid to go to any salon because I don’t want my hair to be ruined and that’s exactly what happened. The first day I went in and told Emma I wanted to get highlights and go a bit lighter, my natural hair color is dark brown also I let her know before hand that I have died It black myself in the Past. She insisted the she could still do the job. So the ending results came out bad it was orange/yellow in my roots and still dark in the bottom half and the highlights were uneven at the top! made it clear I didn’t like it (Keep in mind i spent $170) she said it came out like that because I had black in my hair… which I already knew I told her I had black in my hair! so she said ok come back tomorrow and I’ll fix it so I did but she still charged me $89 more dollars the next day, And it came out to be even WORSE than the first time she only bleached half of my hair so you can see a line and 3 different colors!! in person it looks red in the bottom and black in the middle and still orange/yellow in the top. I don’t recommend this place at all she couldn’t do the 2nd service free! And what’s worse she left me with extremely ugly hair! The picture I uploaded are my ending results!

Sarah Acuña Makeup artist was very nice, but spent minimal time with the bride and the makeup did not translate well in pictures. The eyelashes that were applied showed glue. Not at all worth the price paid. She could have spent more time perfecting and actually blending in the eyeshadow.

Truth Opinions Fabian is a great hairstylist. Very calm and relaxed like his shop Sequel. Sequel has a nice hidden plaza behind where two adjacent restaurant/bars are to enjoy while waiting. Highly recommend Fabian if you don’t know what to do with your hair and bring a photo. He’ll let you know pros/cons and what goes good with your face and body type. He will also go into detail about the hair product based on hair type and style.

Kolap Delneuville I had my hair done by Lana, she did an amazing job! I made an appointment for 12:00 and they took me right away! I was very impressed by the results as my stylist knew exactly what was needed for a healthier hair and confident self. Lana is very friendly and asks you questions step by step in order to perfect her magic. I had a baylage, hair cut and a blow dry which of course took a lot of time but Lana wanted it to be perfect - which each step is crucial! The only downside was that I was not offered any complementary drink as most salons offer tea, water or coffee. Which would have been nice considering I was sitting there for almost 3.5 hours. Another thing that surprised me was the price as it is different on Google then on their actual website. So that got me confused. But not a problem just a curious - I wasn’t expecting to pay $300 to be fair but it turned out to be a great success! Thank you Lana ✨

Lee I got a balayage nightmare from Ulta and came here. I cannot say enough good things. The salon is very stylish in itself, clean and the staff were super friendly. My hair went from ORANGE over processed frizz to a fun and gorgeous balayage. The stylist took the time to assess the plan, where to root melt and add some face framing highlights and tone it. I didn’t plan on getting a trim, but ended up doing it anyway just because we’d built trust. I’m so happy and recommend to anyone looking for a quality cut and color you can trust!

Tania Cintron I am from out of state and wanted a simple blow out with waves. I did let them know I had very curly hair. She obviously had zero clue of what she was doing as she was going to curl my hair with the roots clearly frizzy and still curly. I shouldve known that they had zero.clue when she began to blow dry my hair soaking wet. I realize not everyone is well versed in curly hair but they couldnt been upfront and honest. No one even apologized or tried to say Ill help. The worst customer service.
