Trust me after 20 plus years of getting highlights and having lived just about everywhere I feel like I hit the jackpot- she’s of the best stylists I’ve seen. In addition to color she can CUT. She gave me a short bob the very first time I saw her and did an excellent job! I feel like it’s hard to cut short hair, but not for her. She’s meticulous, reliable and so kind!

Kathleen Walter has excellent hair cutting skills. He listens and styles to your taste. I have fine curly hair and he is able to create volume, profile and frame your face. In the past, I’ve had curly hair experts not nearly as good. He is always pleasant for over a decade.

Lanie Bo Made an appointment over 2 weeks in advance with Gina Angeles. When I got there 5 minutes early for my appointment the lights were off and the door was locked at 11am on a Saterday, I tried calling 2 times and left a voicemail with my contact info and never heard back. Had purchased a groupon but got it refunded because of the poor customer service on Ginas end.

Robert McNeill I was so happy and impressed with my experience at David Adam Salon. They were incredibly helpful and attentive during my sons first haircut. Not only that, but they were able to squeeze us in without an appointment. Their staff made the whole experience truly amazing, keeping my son distracted and doing an excellent job with the trim we wanted. I couldnt recommend them enough!

Nikki Frediani I had been trying to grow my hair out for about a year but every time my hair got to a certain length it started to look funky and Id cut it short again. I made an appt with Travis and I brought in a wig as inspiration. Travis was able to cut my hair in such a way that finally I was able to get past that weird stage into long beautiful hair. After he cut my hair he dried it and straightened it for me. It looked great! Id never straightened my hair before and he showed me how to do it properly and protect my hair from burning. Thanks Travis! Plus the salon is beautiful.

Barbara Stephan this is a great salon, all the staff are very nice and they treat their clients great , very professional as well. Travis is the stylist that I go to, I have very long hair and want to keep it that was, he is a color master and it lasts, I will keep continuing to be his client.

Cole Fraser Really wonderful salon and I have never received so many compliments about my hair! Kash is my stylist and I was going from brunette to blond (which can be difficult) for the last couple of years and it wasnt until Kash that the color turned out perfectly. I have gone to high-end stylists in New York City and Los Angeles and Kash has been my favorite. In addition to being very talented with hair, she is fun to talk to (which makes the time go by fast). I highly recommend the salon and specifically, Kash.

Xu Nguyen I highly recommend going to see Will for your cut/styling. He is great at what he does and is an excellent human being. I always feel relieved and less stressed after a haircut from Will. I always look forward to the arm and neck massages after a cut, along with a hot towel on the face. Conversations are always good. He always accommodates my schedule as well. There have been several times where I have had an appointment but had to change it last minute. He had no problem doing so each time. You wont regret coming here.

Jasmine Simone LAtelier Salon is the most beautiful salon in Santa Cruz. I have been going there for about 4 years, and while Megan is the only stylist Ive ever had, I know that all of the other stylists are top-notch as well! Isabel Newcomb I cannot recommend Lauren at Kinship hair enough. She gave me a transformative cut and color, I walked out of there feeling like a new woman. She was considerate of what I wanted while also suggesting things that would compliment my hair type and color. Leticia Maldonado Awful experience with the owner, Jacque. She was 30 minutes late to my makeup and hair appointment and showed like nothing was wrong (while I was waiting outside another customer who was also waiting outside said Jacque was "never" on time). Not what I wanted to hear when I was considering hiring her for my wedding. Once she started my makeup, she sounded like she had been drinking or was at least hung over. I was so irritated. Needless to say my makeup looked awful and sloppy. When I pointed it out to her she became defensive and incredibly rude. Most unprofessional and immature person Ive had to deal with. I ended up leaving and I didnt bother staying to get my hair done with her. Dont waste your money here.

Rhiannon Hecht Wonderful experience. These exceptional women performed miraculous color correction for my daughter. They so graciously agreed to take us as a last minute appointment, and my daughter is over the moon happy with the results. 10/10 recommend!

Dee Swanson I had been looking in the Santa Cruz area for about a year now for a stylist who can give a good mullet haircut. I read about Sophia being very good at razor cuts so decided to book her. She didnt disappoint. She was very skilled with the razor and it was a beautiful result. A big plus is her upbeat and cheerful personality. I will be back.

Bridgitte Willard Jason is a nice guy, but a completely overrated stylist. My highlights came out thick, stripe-y and crude. He cut my bangs way too short IMMEDIATELY after we discussed what a huge problem it is for me. I went back to have my bang area color fixed, as there was a thick stripe of too blonde hair that was farther from the root than the rest. He added in a TON of lowlights which look grey; now it doesnt blend with the rest of my hair. Cried and cried. My hair wasnt perfect before, but now its a total mess. I have no idea what to do, and I wouldnt let him try to fix it again anyway. So, so bummed. Super expensive too.

Jay This place is SERIOUSLY THE BEST HAIR SALON IVE EVER BEEN TO! Whether its dying or cutting or both, it always turns out even better than Id hoped. Incredible work and incredible customer service. I always feel safe and welcome here, and come out with incredible hair. THIS is the place to go!

Amber Burke Penny the receptionist is AWESOME. In an age when so many bookings happen online only, Penny is a real breath of fresh air and she’s a solid professional. Jason is an amazing hair stylist too. He really listens to what I want and responds well. Red is typically hard to get right but he has consistently done it, even when I ask to change the shade a bit. I’ve never been great at being a regular at a spot for my hair but I think it’s because I haven’t found Stranded before.

Michael Briones It a beautiful salon. The staff is great. And that Michael does really good hair. Ive come to realize that every time I go in there everybody is really chill. All the stylists there do excellent work The salon is definitely a must.

K I wanted to love my experience. I was recommended this place by a friend so at least others have had a good experience. Very kind and lovely people, but this is where the good part ends. What I got was a Supercuts haircut at a salon price, and easily the worst styling Ive ever paid money for. Left with frizzy, knotted hair and all I could manage to say was Thank You So Much because I have no idea how to speak up for myself. I even generously tipped. Sad to leave this review, wish we were a better match.

Mya Amor I have been debating writing a review for a while but everyone I tell about my experience has told me that I should. I came in to my appointment about 5/10 minutes early. No one was in the front desk area so I wasnt greeted until the hair stylist, Michelle, came out like 10 minutes late for out scheduled appointment. It was my first time going into the salon and the stylist didnt even introduce herself. I had told her that I was nervous going to a new place and she was kind of cold and didnt do much to make me feel comfortable When cutting my hair I trusted some of her advice/recommendations, but I did let her know that I DID NOT want choppy layers. She then proceeded to do them choppy and tell me that if she didnt do them choppy that I wouldnt be able to see them. She also didnt even style my hair after and told me that she wasnt going to do it so that I could see what it looks like without styling which I realized if I am paying over $100 I should at least walk out with a blowout. Overall, I was not happy with my experience and ended up having to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed.

Madeline Pfister I have been gong to the Loft to see Deb for ten years. She is hands down the best massage therapist I have ever worked with. She has the most healing touch and is such an amazing person. 10/10.

Alyssa Ramp Went in for a trim with Jazelle a little over a week ago. (The original cut was done in February.) Long story short, I love this salon and Jazelle! She is so talented and knows how to cut hair. Overall, I need more thoughtfulness and care since my hair is fine and that is exactly what she provides. The energy just feels good and everyone is so authentic and kind. Hospitality is alive and well! You can book massages and facials, too. I can’t speak to the facials yet.. but I’ve had two massages with Molly. She’s really helped me with relieving shoulder tension and stubborn trigger points. If you need to breathe a little and gift yourself some overdue self care - this is THE place. Thank you! :)

J e A gem! I went to Grace for a haircut and she did wonders with my difficult to style, thick and half wavy/half straight hair. She also provided education on how to better manage my hair. I also have been going to Destiny for Jet Plasma facials and it has done wonders for my skin. I have both fine lines and acne scars and it’s helped both.

Firouz Vafadari My hair was tangled and matted, Jazelle patiently detangled my hair for hours, she gave me a pleasant hair massage and scalp treatment as well. I brought my long hair back to life thanks to her! The before and after photos are unbelievable. She even gave me advice on how to keep my hair healthy. I’ve never seen a hair stylist this nice, professional, and patient; what a great experience!

Omar Aridi Best barber shop in town, the owner is professional and very friendly. He got what i wanted, and did his magic. I had a great haircut while having a wonderful conversation.

William Shiflet This is probably the worst haircut I have ever received. No where on the Google Maps posting did this say it was cash only so I had to start the day by searching for an ATM. I went in with maybe 3" on top and about 1" on the sides. I asked for a 1.5 on the sides and said that I was mostly happy with the length on top and we agreed to leave about a finger length. He went ahead with the 1.5 on the sides and went VERY high up towards the top of my head. He then proceeded to hack and slash what hair was left on top down to less than an inch (no where near finger length). Even if this was the haircut I asked for, the edges and sides are super uneven. If a barber is an artist this man is a four year old with a crayon.

Brett Bell Tien is a great barber, friendly, and affordable too. I’ve been going to him for years and am glad I found his shop. I also appreciate that I can usually be in and out of there in a short amount of time, he’s very efficient.

Beverley Rabbitts Ramona gives me by far the best haircuts Ive ever had in my life. Intuitively knows exactly what I want, whether I bring an exact picture or a rough idea. Efficient, quick, professional, welcoming, and a good price. I especially want to share with queer/LGBT folks that every time I go here its a super affirming experience. I can bring my dog (not for a cut!) and I once brought my nephew in for a cut too.

Irina Blumen Our first time at this shop. In fact, nearly a first time in any barber shop: usually, my husbands hair is cut by the women of the family, and he trims his beard himself. Had a great experience consistent with what other reviewers here reported. An awesome professional haircut and beard trim by Ramona! From the second we walked in, the way she welcomed us in, right away helped relax the slight anxiety we had about going to this place. Oh and while you wait, its so fun to watch both the barbers do their work. We had called ahead and made an appointment. With that, the wait (around noon on a Saturday) was about 15 or 20 mins, and the hair cut itself took under 15 mins. The whole thing seemed so pleasant and easy, I now ask myself how come we havent discovered this years ago!

Evan Powell Awesome decor, family that runs it are great people, the barbers are super friendly and create a comfortable atmosphere. I always get a great cut even if I go in not knowing exactly what I’m looking for!

Michael Abbott I was shaggy. I went to Montgomery’s and came out looking fine. Be patient. Wait in line. It’s worth the wait.

Rodrigo Carla is amazing and great. Terrific hair cut. One of the best. The hairline is absolutely perfect all the way around my ears and the back of my head. However, youll have to be direct with some stuff or shell keep going. Meaning, shell shave off your bear, cut off your sideburns, so be explicit. Also, be prepared for her to talk and talk. I had to zone out multiple times.

Roman Frutos Karlita is a very very nice and generous and very very respectful she cuts hair really good and makes you feel at home when you come by her place I 100 percent recommend this place very happy with the results and for only 35 dollars I will come back soon.

Taylor Seamount Carla expertly sculpted my challenging hair and the result was--truly--THE BEST HAIRCUT I’VE EVER HAD. I have extremely straight, fine, and thick hair--very hard to layer into the bowl cuts and pixies that I love. Without the money to spend at a high end salon, I’ve just come to accept a level of choppiness. Well no more! I thought the haircut was great halfway through, but she made it perfect--even staying at it past closing. I also appreciated that she explained to me why she was using certain techniques based on my hair type and desired style. She is an artist that takes pride in her craft. She is a warm, funny, and multifaceted person and I had a lot of fun talking to her, too. I love that she promotes her fine art and hair styling together. She even sent me home with some complimentary bulbs from her other business--a plant nursery. She’s amazing! Can’t recommend stopping by Cali Barber enough.

James Jones Went for a haircut for the $60.00 price to shortened up and style my sons haircut. Not impressed at all. Just an FYI for all parents scheduling hair appointment be aware. No wash stations for this type of haircut very surprising . I could have went somewhere else and had better results. Elias was his barber. Trying not to be negative but you could have presented a decent haircut on top of my 20% tip. One more thing I observed, the other barber awaiting his next client was sitting there for 10 minutes not even thinking about cleaning up the previous clients hair off the ground. Will not be going there anytime soon and I am local who lives right down the street. Crazy

Mike K Was in town for a day and got a haircut here. Theres a premium on the price but they make up for it with the quality and service. Plus they serve a couple of different types beverages (beer, seltzer, etc.) while you wait, which is always a plus. Got my cut from Drew, who was very solid. Good vibes and a great haircut. Will come back if I am ever in Santa Cruz and in need of a cut.

Jon Schwindt What a cool shop! Did a great job on my big chop (first haircut in 2 years). The shop has great vibes for while you wait and they have beers/sodas for you too if you arrive early. 60 bucks for a good longhair haircut. I felt like the value was there at that price and enjoyed my visit to the shop!

Laurie Petterson Stephanie and Parlour at the Point was the best hair experience Ive ever had! Im 61 years old and Ive had some bad experiences that lasted one visit and two very good stylists that had very long runs but ended due to them moving out of CA, and my husband and I just covered here from San Jose so I needed to do my research to find a stylist. I checked all of the local salons websites and reviews and Parlour at the Point stood out. The reviews matched the picture examples as well. Ive read other salons reviews that were good, but the pic examples didnt nessasaraly match to good review or didnt fit with what I was looking for. When I came across Parlour at the Point, I knew Id found what I was looking for so I went in to feel it out and set up an appointment. I then knew right away that I made the right choice. I then set up my appt w/Stephanie and I knew it would be great. I however handed Stephanie a mess though. About 3 months ago I tried to get my hair done from someone new in San Jose, and I showed him the style cut and color/highlights I wanted to achieve. I let him know I didnt want any cool ash blonde but warm golden blonde w/highlights. He didnt listen and put both, ash and golden tones which of course Gabe me a green hue. Anyways, with Stephanie, she took the time to really see what I wanted. She took the approach as if she were a high end architect. She explained every step and made sure I was able to see the color samples as well so I knew I would get the color I was looking for. She did this also to ease my mind since my hair was in the state it was. Ive never had such care with a stylist. She knew what I was looking for and knew what to do to correct the wrong blend of color and how to fix the botched hair cut from my previous unfortunate mistake. Parlour at the Point also uses a hair care line better than anything Ive ever used or known about. If I had, I would have been using it for sure! Im a firm believer that your hair is only as good as the products you use. The other nice thing with Stephanie is that for every product she used, she explained it to me and why she was using it and what it would do fo me and my hair. Sine I am 62 years old, my hair needs the top products more than ever because the older you are the less moisture your har has or holds. My hair right now feels better and looks better than it ever has. I cant say enough good things about Parlour at the Point! The whole staff is wonderful and Stephanie is SO AMAZING, and a magician for fixing the huge mess I handed her for sure! I also was so incredibly impressed with the other stylists and the work I saw them do during my appointment. All I can say is of you are looking for that perfect salon that has the perfect stylists, you should check out Parlour at the Point... Im serious, they will take care of you!! Thank you Stephanie and everyone at Parlour at the Point for my amazing experience!!

Kims Salon is very clean, very friendly staff, and just about everything you would want, for some relaxation time. I highly recommend Kims Salon next time you need your hair or nails done to the highest standards!

Duc Nguyen Do NOT get a cut here from Tony. He completely butchered my friend’s hair. Poor dude was trying to get a girlfriend but Tony ruined his chances of getting a Valentine. My friend even asked Tony to fix his hair after the initial cut but Tony made it worse as you can see in the picture. Beware of the price as well. My friend asked about student discount but Tony was like nah your hair was too long so I’m charging $25 even though the posted price was $20. Don’t get a haircut here and take your chances somewhere else.

Gary Hirthler 100% best and most efficient haircut I’ve had in years - he crushed it in like 15 - 20 minutes! $10 cheaper than the barber shops I’ve been shopping around and being disappointed at. Brock is a boss! Can’t recommend him enough and looking forward to bringing my kid in and my next haircut!
