Ayn Devera I have been searching for a hair stylist for almost two decades since I moved back home to Ventura from the SFV. I am ecstatic to have landed at Pure Hair. Crosby is so talented and genuine. His salon is serene and bright. Shay has become my stylist from now on (forever, I hope), because I have finally found someone that can work with my long, fine hair. She listens, takes her time, and transforms it to have more body and movement just the way I want!

Ash Monster Being new to the area I just discovered Pure Hair and I will be going back! Crosby did a great job, I feel like he listened to what my hair goals were treated my hair accordingly. He was fast, fun, and very professional. The results are fabulous my hair looks and feels so good. Ive got my confidence back! It is so hard to find someone who is skilled in lighting and blonding services and you never know what you are going to get when you try somewhere new for the first time. I am so pleased with my hair and you will be too!

S Miller This was my first visit to LUXE salon and I had a appt with Lily G today .Im new to Ventura and had been getting hair services in La and unable to continue the trek... Upon entering the Aveda concept salon I was Immediately greeted by more than one person. My appt was at 12:45 and Lily took me immediately taking inventory on my hair and my hopes she took me from a dark brunette to a Ginger red in one visit. Not only am I thrilled with the outcome as its health and shine is intact still, as she said she was putting protein back in at one point amongst other steps that I didnt pay attention to because I felt so confident in Lilys ability as a colorist I was busy chatting with other staff and clients. Not only did I find a Amazing hairdresser today the entire salon is welcome, kind and I cant wait to go back!!

Kyra D Well I went in for a TRIM and color with Danica and got all my length hacked off. Im so upset. My hair hasnt been this short in about 5 years. Im completely dumbfounded that this even happened. My hair was healthy. I get it trimmed every 6-7 weeks. No one has ever chopped it all off like this. I specifically said NO when she said she wanted to take off 2.5 inches! She did it anyways and cut off even more!!! It was all I could do to leave without making a scene. My hair was past my breasts now it’s at my shoulders. I’m so sad and angry I don’t know what to do. My husband and I LOVED my long hair. When I walked in the door he was shocked. Now I HATE my hair and it’s going to be at least 5 years to grow it back. Updating my review after the response I received from Luxe. Shirley contacted me shortly after seeing my post and was extremely apologetic. She acknowledged she couldnt undo what had occurred but took it very seriously and wanted to make it up to me as much as possible. She comped a keratin treatment and even gave me a large bottle of shampoo. Crosby did the keratin treatment and promised he would trim my hair properly in the future. This level of customer service means a ton.

Nicole Gutierrez I have been going to Shirley (the owner) since I was a child. Over the years I have tried other stylists that were closer to where I lived but no one compares! I always have come back and now drive from Somis to see her. She is an amazing colorist and stylist. She is honest and always gives every client her absolute best. Great salon!!

Ashley Sunshine Was treated rudely on the phone and told after send pictures of what I wanted done to my hair, and what I my hair currently looked like, and was told that they would get back to me RIGHT AWAY with an answer if the stylist would have time to see me the next day (I needed to be seen right away for my graduation pictures) well, after eagerly waiting (when I could’ve spent that time finding someone else to try to do my hair) it wasn’t until at about 5:30pm that I received a text message (NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL BACK) saying that the stylist wouldn’t have time to do my hair the next day and that they could see me sometime next week. I was so disappointed and desperate I even offered to tip an additional $100 on top of services if they could squeeze me in the next day. I found a better salon last minute that was still open when I called at 5:45pm and she was kind to me, I told her my dilemma and did the same thing, sent her pictures of what my hair looked like, and asked if she could see me the next day and what I was looking for. Well, let me just say, that Matiz Salon was recommended to me by a friend, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. In fact, I’d recommend you take your business to Candy at Hispanso Beauty Salon in Ventura. She overly exceeded my expectations and was willing to squeeze me in last min. And this is what she did to my hair for $260 (but I tipped her well & she threw in some hair products too!) *these hair services were NOT done at Matiz Salon!!!

Miss Moe Every appointment at Matiz Salon is time away from real life! Love Aura--her skills are almost magical!

jack Fradkin Bridget Jaques at Matiz salon is amazing! I live out of town and now need to move to Ventura because she is the best hair stylist and professional colorist I have ever been to! Im really not kidding. Bridget is very talented. If I could have described what I wanted it would have been exactly what I came away with. Seriously. Bridget has super solid instincts on color. (Cut too but I didnt need a cut today). She brought my hair back from quite a rough, dry, over-processed state to soft, shiny and beautiful. Im actually not just excited but Im quite amazed at how much better my hair looks AND feels. And who doesnt want soft, shiny hair?? I feel really lucky to have found Bridget. Shes a great person on top of being an excellent stylist. Its a bonus when its fun spending time in your stylists chair and you leave really happy!

Milo Mae theyre great, theyre very very sweet, every receptionist is very nice. melanie is awesome and she does amazing with designs and hand art, shes also super nice and really fun to chat with, makes the time go by super super fast. antoinette is really nice too, very friendly. nuvia is super nice and really feels like a friend when you talk to her. everyone ive ever seen there is absolutely awesome and super sweet. amazing place, i come here each time i want my nails done!

Jacqueline Flores As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by someone, and the atmosphere is so chill and friendly. The stylists are always offering you beverages and making sure you are taken care of. Shout out to my tech, Antoinette! She is amazing! I have been getting my nails by her for a few months, and I always get compliments on my nails. I have also received pedicure services by Melanie, and she is very sweet and friendly. I have also got my hair done by Sindy, and she is just the sweetest and did such an amazing job on my hair and giving me a few tips on how to care for my hair.

Fatima Bazurto I had the best experience with Maya! This was my first time getting my hair dyed, and I’m so glad I chose her. Maya gave me the perfect shag/bob cut with a beautiful pink and purple halo. She was thoughtful enough to add darker purple roots to help the transition as my natural hair grows out, which I really appreciated. Maya is incredibly talented, bubbly, and kind. She kept checking in with me throughout the appointment, making sure I was comfortable and happy with everything. The entire experience was enjoyable, and I absolutely love my new look. I’ll definitely be coming back to Maya for my future hair needs!

Betty Tessier A beautiful girl named Sammie colored my hair to perfection and gave me an amazing haircut. I couldnt be happier. Im 83 years old, and my experiences at salons have not been this positive - Stylists usually make me feel like Im an insignificant old woman. Sammie made me feel special and treated me with such care. I wish I wouldve found her years ago. Unfortunately, Im moving out of the country next week.

Mikaela Labrador I absolutely love glutton! The environment is amazing. Everyone working is so welcoming and friendly. It’s always scary going into new salon but they make it feel like home! I have been seeing Alexandra for my hair for a few months now and my hair has never looked better! She is incredibly kind and so attentive to my hair needs. She makes it fun sitting in her chair and getting to have plenty of girl talk! I have also been seeing Netty for my Gel X nails and WOW I am in love! She not only does amazing nails but amazing nail art. She is extremely easy and fun to talk too and makes the whole experience so fun and personal. Overall , I highly recommend Glutton salon. They offer such a variety of services there is something for everyone!

Ashley B I have been going to Paris for the last few years and she outdoes herself every time! She easily understands what I am looking for and always executes it! Not only is she extremely talented, but she is one of the sweetest people I know :) I have been to salons in the past, where I have felt like my hairdresser just wanted to hurry and get out of there. This is not the case with Paris at all. She takes her time, has lovely conversations with you, and makes the whole experience pleasant and relaxing. After each appointment, I leave feeling happy, confident, and thankful I have such a great hairdresser. Please do yourself a favor and book with her for your next appointment!

diana alvarez If you’re looking for a hairstylist please book an appointment with Paris. Not only is she extremely sweet but she knows what she’s doing. She nails it every time and I’m always left in awe after I leave the salon. Highly recommend!!!

Rochelle Storts I had a color and cut today by Angie and I could not have been more pleased. Not only was she warm and personable, she was very professional and so careful to make sure she understood my requests and my needs were met. I was WELL overdue for a proper styling and Angie exceeded my expectations! She also provided helpful hair care tips and walked me through all of the yummy smelling products she was using. I like the line they use a lot (Davines), so will be back once my current products run out. The salon overall is beautiful, impeccably clean and bright. A super nice vibe overall and I’m so glad I gave them a try. Also, I was able to book the same week I called — another salon I had previously gone to had a 6-8 week wait time (!!). Michelle Shires Wow! Ok, it started with a little glitch. I booked online and there was a glitch so I couldnt get in. BUT! They were so helpful in getting me in asap and Im really glad because I was about to cross them off my list. SO glad I didnt. Got in to see Sam. And she was amazing. She really cared about my hair health. We talked about the water here in Ventura and how it can hurt the hair. And I know that to be true. (If its eating my pipes imagine what its doing to my hair!) She was so sweet. Offered me a drink. And gave me an amazing cut. Didnt over talk me, but visited and she has a good sense of humor. She didnt try to get me to buy anything. But the price of the cut was so good, I Wanted to buy stuff. Plus everything smells so good! I will be going back soon to buy some shampoo and conditioner. And this is my only go to hair place now. From customer service, to products, to Sam and the others...THIS is the place to go for a great cut and wonderful treatment. Thank you!!!

Cuba Oaks The ladies at The Ivy Mae NEVER miss!! I was seeing a hairstylist in Ojai and she never listened and did what she wanted to my hair. I havent had a haircut I liked in years until coming here! My go-to cut is a very short, layered a-line bob and my stylist Lindsey always has me leaving with the biggest smile! She gave me my confidence back; I never tie my hair up or wear hats now. My mum also sees Brie for her short, color treated curly hair. She too was seeing my old dresser and her cut was just never flattering. The atmosphere, the ladies, the owners little dog?? All so lovely and worth the drive into Ventura! So so glad we finally found stylists we love.

Rylee Bonilla I knew I loved the Color Bar when I walked in as everyone was very welcoming and it was a down to earth atmosphere. I recently moved from Boston and wanted to find someone I could trust with my hair long term. Kelly went above and beyond. She listened to me and took time to make sure she knew exactly what I was wanting regarding color. I was so nervous coloring my virgin hair and wanted something very natural. Similarly, having long hair I was apprehensive because I’ve had stylists take far more off than requested. Cut and styling was on point. Safe to say I will def be a repeat customer. Damaris Calderon First time I came to visit The Color Bar was with Kelly, I had gone with the intention to only get my hair trimmed but she had suggested a toner/hair cut since I had a “beanie” look due to an old color I had prior that was grown out. I was so happy and in love with the end results! Kelly is the sweetest she has also cut my daughters hair and feel I can trust her when it comes to doing a change and needing a new look. I’ve had bad experiences before with other hair stylists I don’t allow anyone to touch my hair, Kelly has made sure prior to proceeding with my hair her and I are on the same page and through communication I fall in love every time leaving The Color Bar which I feel anyone that steps foot in should walk out feeling their best selves and so far I’ve had nothing but the best service and experience thanks to Kelly.

Kenny Katz I did an event that they had last year for lgbtq+ peeps and I got a cut and color for FREE. I looked amazing. I told the stylist the had free reign. I literally just changed it. Like I did touch ups. But it looked amazing from june-january. (Maybe its just me)

Alexx Pryjma I wanted to find a local salon and A Secret Place was recommended to me by an acquaintance. My initial phone call to the salon was very informative. Jade did my hair and she put me at ease by taking her time to ask questions and talk me through potential cuts and color. I cant think of a stylist who has taken that much time to make sure I was comfortable. Im so happy with the results! Jade also put extra effort in to explain how to style the new cut and to recommend products to me. I had a fabulous experience at A Secret Place!

Des Espanta I stayed at Ventura for a year and had the pleasure of working with Faith Ontiveros for my waxing needs. The wax she uses is gentle and didn’t elicit any reaction from my skin at all (which it did with other places)! She’s kind, professional, and accommodating to my busy schedule. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Her place is calm, clean, and serene. If you’ve been to a lot of different waxing places and need a regular person—this is it. Highly recommend!

Christine Kasting Although Alison did a good job on my hair, she clearly likes to do your hair her on her terms. No interest in my input. In addition, She misrepresented herself when I made my next appointment. First she had lots of availability, then none….very strange. It took her a week to respond to me with her new unavailability with various excuses. Very rude. In retrospect, we are not a good fit. Professionally she should have told the truth.( whatever that was?) Things happen for a reason. It was a stressful 2 weeks, but I have various options thank God to chose another stylist,

Maribel Ok so they moved right across the street when I lived in Ventura I used to always go here and see sierra and Jasmin to do my hair, Courtney the receptionist is so sweet and wonderful I love her energy!! She has transformed my dark brown hair into the most beautiful blonde mixture that grows out naturally and seamlessly. Margarita Sanchez C. Ive been going to KINshoppe Salon for the past 4 years, and its hands down the best hair salon Ive ever been to. The salon is always clean and well-maintained, theres lots of beautiful green plants throughout, cool modern lighting, I love the layout of each station, it has an open concept, But what really sets this salon apart is the incredible talent of their stylists. Tara, one of the owners, is my go-to stylist, and she always goes above and beyond to make me feel special. Robert Ornstein I had my first experience with Ilene Sheer last week, and it was really good! I had been looking for a new person to cut my hair after 2 bad haircuts from the person I had been going to for over a year. My hair was a mess and out of shape in every respect. We discussed the rehab that was needed, and she did a beautiful job. I was extremely pleased with her in every respect and am highly recommending her! Bob from Ojai.

Kim Pitman Its a nice Salon only the stylist did not color my hair the way I wanted or cut it the way I wanted it. She decided to go another way, she said! I thought since Im the one paying shes supposed to do it the way I want. I paid for a full head of highlights and got about 4 highlights and then she charged me extra for toning at the end. I asked for a blunt trim across the bottom of my hair as my hair is very thin and I need a blunt cut to keep it looking thicker she decided layering it would be better. If you cant decide what you want and want a hairdresser to decide for you I highly recommend this place but if you want things done your way like I do Id go somewhere else. My hair looked great theres no doubt about that, let me make that clear. It just wasnt what I asked for.

Yasmin G I’ve been going to Laura several times now for eyelash lifts and lip blush. Not only is she nice and personable but she is very professional and great at what she does. She makes sure you are comfortable throughout the process and is very informative. My lashes are still healthy, that was big concern of mine when deciding between a lash lift or lash extensions. I always love my results, I would definitely recommend.

Bella DeLeon 10/10 highly recommend. I was a little skeptical about getting my extensions redone as last time I had been ripped off by someone else but Sarah exceeded my expectations for an an excellent price. After our consultation I knew I was in good hands and she ended up doing an amazing job. She took her time making sure my extensions fit perfectly and they ended up looking beautiful. She also uses high quality products as well as high quality human hair. If you are thinking about getting hair extensions I definitely recommend Sarah as she is extremely talented and experienced!

ANNA It was my first time going there Sarah cut my hair and did it just the way I wanted it. I was very happy with my cut and style that I wanted. It was so relaxing and totally worth it. Everyone there was so nice. I will definitely be back. Just updating the 2nd time I went and why I havent been back since I was unhappy with my cut when I came in I showed Sarah the style I wanted and she did what she wanted and cut it so short I cried when I left. Sorry to say but I wont be back.

Laurie Bienvenue Sarah has been doing hair extensions for me for quite some time, and she has always done an impeccable job. (Sarah is amazing with color as well.) However, for my routinely-scheduled appointment this past week during which I was supposed to have my extensions moved up, I spontaneously requested that Sarah instead remove my extensions and give me a completely different short haircut. Sarah did as I requested and gave me an excellent designer haircut. I have been getting compliments all over town from people who ask me, "who did your hair?" My adult children love the cut as does my partner and friends. I love this haircut and I am so grateful to Sarah. She can do anything when it comes to hair and she is just a first-rate professional. She encouraged me to remove my extensions even though she would have profited more from selling me more extensions. (She noticed that my hair needed a rest which is why she encouraged me to give my hair a rest.) I have the utmost respect for Sarah and there is no one better than she is when it comes to hair.

Leseberg Family Finally found a hair dresser who knows what she is doing! I found Salina a little over a year ago after losing faith with other stylists and several terrible failed highlighting jobs. Salina listened and asked all the right questions and then fixed my hair to look "naturally" blonde again. After a couple amazing highlighting appointments, I was confident enough to try a new hair cut! I received and continue to receive so many compliments on the color and cut that I look forward to seeing Salina so she can keep me looking fantastic! Salina is awesome with cuts, color, highlights, balayage, scalp messages and blowouts.

Share T. I am leaving I’m this review to notify customers before coming in. Please make sure length is shown to the front how much want cut. Hairstylist Salina miscommunicated with me…I wanted mid upper arm from the front right at mid chest length and it was cut right below my shoulder from the back. Her defense that length was shown from the back. Please pay attention to stylist. I put to much trust where it went bad….although I shared it is short I just got a sorry and not other customer service at that time. Unhappy costumers should be compensated like any other place of service at the time not for a further cut where I will not be coming back. I do not recommend Salina and will not be coming back. My hair was short when I requested mid length. Left me emotionally distraught because my hair was length of my lower back and now it’s up to shoulder length.

Lisa Postas Ive been seeing Stephanie (the owner) for Y*E*A*R*S! Ive followed her from salon to salon...from the mall salon to seeing her open her own place!! She has done almost every service, from simple haircuts, dying, and highlings to balayage, fashion colors, and even AMAZING color corrections! Ive never felt rushed to make a decision. Janice Staleny I just love this salon! After 74 years I found Penny ; the owner; who does exactly what I ask for! No one else I ever went to would do short layers all over on my curly hair. B Kasper "Unlimited Chiropractic" Best Chiropractor I have been to in over 15 years. Tracey was very friendly and personal. I went in there with really bad neck and back pain. When I left it felt like I was given a new body. She has very fair prices from $25 and up. If you refer a friend she will give your friend their first visit for free. She is located in the salon at "Salon Panache". Need a reference tell her Kasper sent you. Spread the word and help her small business grow. She also has a location in Bakersfield.

Debra Castro Friendly and cute little hidden gem by the harbor. Dina is professional and great at what she does, which is pretty much everything. I usually get a cut and some facial waxing. I know there are other services there too. Everyone is kind and hospitable usually asking if I want a coffee or water when I come in. Love it.

Joan Avery-Erickson My hairdresser at Salon Panache, and I enjoy my time there. The stylists are all independent, and they have manicurists, facial waxing, in addition to the full slate of services for your hair. Unlike so many of the salons that assault your senses with THEIR choice of music, Salon Panache is blessedly low key. If music is playing it’s not mind-numbingly loud! Everyone in the salon is friendly-and pleasant to all visitors! Great Salon!

Celia U I got a haircut and highlights done by Lisa and she did a terrific job. I have very thick, long curly hair and she helped style my haircut so it would frame my face better. She also accommodated my highlights to bring out my new haircut and shape my face better. I will definitely keep coming back here. She was very nice and gave me great tips for my hair care.
