2.Carl Cox Mural

Address: St Kilda VIC 3182

(1) Reviews Carl Cox Mural:

Braulio A. Tucked away in the heart of St Kilda, Victoria, the Carl Cox mural is a vibrant tribute to one of the most legendary figures in electronic music. Bold, colorful, and larger than life—just like Cox himself—the mural instantly grabs your attention. Local artist Ling created this striking piece with an energy that mirrors the DJ’s infectious charisma. You can feel the bass in the brushstrokes. Set against the backdrop of a gritty laneway, the mural feels right at home among Melbourne’s iconic street art scene, yet it stands out for its clean lines and dynamic color palette. Cox’s signature grin is captured with uncanny accuracy, beaming out at passersby as if inviting them to dance. What makes the mural even more compelling is its cultural resonance. Carl Cox has long had a strong connection to Australia’s music scene, and this piece feels like a nod of appreciation from the community. It’s more than just a portrait—it’s a statement of love for music, for nightlife, and for a legend who helped shape it all. Whether you’re a fan of techno or just someone who appreciates powerful street art, the Carl Cox mural is absolutely worth the detour. A true local gem.

Sam Keir For some reason Id never visited this place until Sun 20.5 and what a delight! In heart of St Kilda fantastic community garden, several thete, some working their plots and some looking, like me. Yes a cliche but a suburban oasis.
5 /5
Toby H An extraordinary little pocket of St Kilda. There’s a beautiful castle that’s an ongoing work in progress in one corner. Lovely place for kids to explore (though please supervise them and don’t pull parts of the sculptures off - a surprising number of people apparently do this - leave it as you found it!)
5 /5
Dexcellent Reviews Excellent idea to have a veggie garden where you can go and plant your own plants in your own little plot. Fully fenced off and engine to vegetable planting areas People that want to plant say vegetables or fruit or anything like that. They also have a barbecue and have a certain nights and days away they get everyone together as a community. I think its a fantastic idea

Leenus Martin A nicely constructed viewing platform. Could get a very good view of the sunset. The circular platform is convenient to walk around to get a full view of the surrounding areas. The gentle evening breeze from the sea was enjoyable.
5 /5
Antony Firmanto Newly built viewing platform. Great for viewing during night time. Enjoyed the sound of waves and lights facing the City and St Kilda surrounding areas. Recreational fishing might be useful.
5 /5
Sean Nairn This elevated viewing platform is an ideal spot to view the sunset over Port Phillip Bay. Located less than 5 minutes walk from the main dining and shopping area of St Kilda. There are some benches to rest on or you can stand at the railing to feel the wind in your hair. Recommended to visit if you’re in the area at sunset.

5.Great Wall of St Kilda

Address: Barkly St, St Kilda VIC 3182

Imges Great Wall of St Kilda

(6) Reviews Great Wall of St Kilda:

Adam G This stunning wall was created in 2009 by Australian artist Camille Monet and the St Kilda Residents community. They named it the "Great Wall of St Kilda" and it covers what was previously an ugly wall of a Citypower building that was the target of tagging and old bill posters. Its 11 metres x 5 meters and made of a total of 807 clay tiles. Camille Monet created two hundred and seven large tiles and six hundred smaller tiles were designed and made by local St Kilda residents who she encouraged to participate. The tiles were designed to capture some of the past and present characters and stories in the making of what St Kilda is. Each tile is unique and you can spend a lot of time just looking at them and taking in each message. It’s colourful and thus representative of St Kilda. Its definitely worth checking out.

8.St Kilda Pier

Address: Pier Rd, St Kilda VIC 3182

Imges St Kilda Pier

(4216) Reviews St Kilda Pier:

Manini Dhar It is a lovely place to visit if you are located close to the city, particularly on a sunny day. The sunset views are to die for, and one can also see a beautiful view of the city skyline. The pier has been recently renovated and is now open from the morning till 5 PM. There are ample places to sit, few cafes nearby to enjoy a cup of hot coffee and has nice walking tracks too. Summers are quite crowded. The best part about this pier is one can see little penguins near the rocks by the pier, particularly during sunset. It is advisable to keep silence near the rocks so as to not disturb the penguins while clicking their photos.
5 /5
Emma Cann St Kilda Pier is a gorgeous place to visit, especially on a warm day or around sunset. The views are stunning, the vibe is calm and relaxing and its also an amazing spot for a swim. In the evening, it’s extra special when the little penguins come out from the rocks. It’s a magical experience, but it’s so important to be respectful. The penguins sleep in the rocks and can be easily disturbed by noise. When we visited, there were quite a few loud people and kids near the penguin area, despite signs asking for quiet. Please enjoy this beautiful place and help protect the penguins so everyone can continue to enjoy the experience.
5 /5
Leon B Spent the afternoon at St Kilda Pier—such a great spot to hang out with the kids! We saw the penguins, which was a real highlight. The kids had a blast swimming and jumping off the pier—it felt really safe and had great vibes all around. Perfect spot for a chill family day. 5 stars!

Stu Jones Really useful visit. So much to learn, so much to understand and appreciate. Some museums are too big...but this is just right...excellent content...well laid out ....2 or 3 hours....longer if you want...up to you. I knew very little about the Jewish people and religion before my visit...now I know a bit more...and I respect and understand a bit more. Maybe Ill go again. Lovely staff....very welcoming....thank you.
5 /5
Andrew L Excellent displays and collection, audio & videos, the time line of historic events, there is even a small library inside the museum. A piano for you to play. Highly Recommended to all legal immigrants to visit and learn how Jewish did it for 2000 yrs.
5 /5
Simone Weigel We had a super informative and great morning with Zarra today! She told and explained so much to us and, above all, told us a lot about her own story and her journey. We were really grateful for the day and the great exchange. Thank you from Simone and Gina
5 /5
Yang Guo The museum is small but contains a lot of information and artifacts. The exhibit starts from the history of Jews in the time of Moses and covers Jewish history up to the present day as well as migration of Jewish people in Australia. Staff are really nice.

Hilary Miller An ongoing representation of resilience and resistance. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land. Recommend reading the Yulukit Willam booklet (free and accessible online) and other resources on this important site prior to visit.
5 /5
Morgan Ræ Be in awe of a sacred tree and how it stays strong adjacent to a bustling highway. Unplug and sit peacefully while taking in the magical surroundings. The sweet birds will entertain you.
5 /5
Rodney Egel This tree has meaning for the original inhabitants of the land, so they put a major thoroughfare right next to it...I dont get it either, folks.

Kirrily Graham I am a little sad that it has taken me so long to discover this local treasure of indigenous history and culture.

11.St Kilda Adventure Playground

Address: Neptune St, St Kilda VIC 3182

Imges St Kilda Adventure Playground

(425) Reviews St Kilda Adventure Playground:

sventek This place is so cool. As soon as you enter, it feels like youve entered into a different world, with an abundance of mulch covering the entire flooring and an abundance of mature trees providing atmosphere and natural shade. Theres different types of slides, ramps, steps, a large trampoline, a basketball court, a covered picnic area, a community garden, just to name a few. It has limited opening hours. The website says its staffed during opening hours which I think is true as there seemed to be someone in charge amongst the crowd having a birthday event that was on when we visited. 2 hour free parking available nearby. Toilets available on site.
5 /5
Azra Belly Dance There is nothing here Just one trampoline They closed the whole park apparently for safety reason. The audit was here just before the school holidays and imagine they decided to close it just before the school holidays started Everything is blocked It’s been open since 80s and now it’s unsafe to use
1 /5
Emma Ronan Do not go here in 2025. Everything is boarded up except for the trampoline (which there are long wait times for) and a sandpit. It’s apparently getting fixed up later in the year but it’s useless until that is finished which is a shame that there’s going to be a year ++ downtime.
1 /5
julie burke It needs upgrading - most of it boarded up . Went 30 years with my own kids and don’t think things have been done to it since . Such a shame as it’s a real community feel. The tramp was good !
2 /5
Jesse Donohue As someone that spent years going to St Kilda Adventure Playground as a child, it was fantastic to go full circle and take my own son there, and see the joy it also brought him! Thank you to the staff and the council for supplying this fantastic service to the community still.

12.Palais Theatre

Address: Lower Esplanade, St Kilda VIC 3182

Imges Palais Theatre

(4261) Reviews Palais Theatre:

Sean Nairn The Palais Theatre is an art-deco venue that holds around 3,000 people. Easy to get to via car or public transport, it’s one of Melbourne’s key live music sites. Most seats offer good views of the stage, sound is excellent from any location. Pubs and restaurants are a short walk away in the streets of St Kilda.
5 /5
Claudine Faerie Iconic old building with great central St. Kilda location, opposite Luna Park. Beautiful architecture, chandelier and classic internal decor....its surprisingly huge inside, which means upper level seating can be VERY far back. There was however a lovely atmosphere. I did see a lot of people stumble on the stairs when exiting the performance theatre- so maybe a rail down the middle of the steep stairs would assist.
4 /5
Tash Radford Took my niece on a Friday night to see Alec Benjamin, the Aussie support act was just as entertaining as the main act. Beautiful old building so lovely inside too, loved the blue lights about the Palais outside. Toilets were clean, staff we encountered were courteous, polite & very helpful. The building itself makes a lovely atmosphere for any sort of entertainment, I was pleased that they didnt have the aircon too cold like other places. Recommend going there to anyone, even just for a look
5 /5
Laurie Harris Saw Tina Arena dont ask tour 2025. Loved it Nice older style theatre. Great acoustics, seating is tiered so great view from aa mid section for us.

13.Jim Duggan Reserve

Address: Bath St, St Kilda VIC 3182

Imges Jim Duggan Reserve

(44) Reviews Jim Duggan Reserve:

Kate Happiness A lot of apartments around this park and it is always a delight to see local families with their young ones enjoying the playground. My heart goes out to the vulnerable people who have nowhere to go so there is quite a lot of obvious drug activity taking place. Government please open more safe injecting rooms so we can keep these beautiful souls safe and we dont lose them to overdose as they matter.
5 /5
Brian Mitchell Good equipment. Easy to supervise. Pity dog owner let dog off leash in a leash only area.
4 /5
Shmuel Its a really nice place to sit, relax, on a bench under a tree, or in the sun. Picnic. Playground for kids. Drinking water fountain (and a tap for dogs). Flocks of pigeons frequent the park. Large open grass area (as well). Basketball court with hoop. Public BBQ. Free parking lot adjacent to the park. Nice and quiet.
5 /5
Shane Larsen If you like pigeons as much as I do, you will love this park. There is a playground, several benches, a single hoop for throwing balls into and all that nature goodness you expect from parks. Sunshine touches all the chairs at different times, the grass is soft. Not the biggest park, but its quiet.
5 /5
Hayley Knight Has a vast amount of greenery, Id like to see the public toilets a bit more accessible and the bike track is popular so be ware if your strolling casually you may get a few whooshing bikes ride by as the shared path isnt built purposefully for walkers and biker to share with generosity

Lemonade A huge bridge that is very unique. Everyone can learn somthing here. Definitely you dont want to miss it. If there are a ranking of sightseeings I recommend to tourists, this one is among the top three!!
5 /5
Tony Wenz There is a lot of history here. A view over the bay from the top. Childrens playground as well.
4 /5
Thomas Liontis Very cute looking arch with some little drawings, shame about the graffiti though.
4 /5
Adam G Built in 1916, the ornamental Catani Arch Footbridge is yet another work which bears the name of Carlo Catani, the Italian born Public Works Department engineer, who achieved widespread recognition for his visionary schemes of major public works especially the reclamation and design of the St. Kilda foreshore. This historic bridge is a miniature Italian-style bridge and has garden lava rock walls, inbuilt seats, and shrub planting identical to that of the nearby Catani and ODonnell Gardens. It was originally linked to the upper deck of the old Tea Rooms, which were also part of the same 1916 works.
4 /5
Sean Nairn Preserved archway from a tea house that was located here in the early 20th century. You can walk under and over it, or use it as a foreground for sunset photos over the water. Check it out if you’re walking along the St Kilda foreshore. Plenty of food and drink options nearby as well as close to transport.

Imges St Kilda Esplanade Market

(2362) Reviews St Kilda Esplanade Market:

Eric Toh We took a morning walk at St Kilda beach on the 9th day of our Melbourne vacation and noticed that the iconic St Kilda Pier is closed for renovation and upgrading. After that we visited the weekend market. The scale of the market seems to have gotten smaller than I used to know with more food stalls and lesser artwork and handcrafted items stalls. Nevertheless, it is still a fun place to visit during the weekend.
5 /5
Archie S Place for locals and visitors to just chill, enjoy the beach vibes and watch the spectacular sunset
5 /5
Thomas Liontis Its a fairly lovely market, they have a couple of special stalls like gluten free food and Colombian and Brazilian BBQ. Easy go get to via tram and open at a good time.

Address: Pier Rd, St Kilda VIC 3182

Imges St Kilda Penguins

(12) Reviews St Kilda Penguins:

Mike Medema The new pier and penguin walkway are very nice. The views of the harbour and Melbourne skyline are fantastic, especially at sunset. Currently, access to the penguin walkway is limited to between 9AM - 5PM and a security guard enforces the hours. Unfortunately, the penguins only return to the rocks after sunset when it gets dark, around 6PM, so don’t expect to see any penguins, just the rocks that they call home. After 6PM, we heard the penguins from a distance in the dark, but never saw them.
2 /5
Serena Huh Were so lucky here in Melbourne!
5 /5
Von The penguins shit on my toe and i didnt see them
3 /5
Viester Fabian No penguins in sight. The viewing point for the animals is closed, according to the St Kilda Penguins website, until it has been decided by the government and the operator who is responsible for what. Its a shame that residents and tourists are the victims of this.
