Moy P One of those secret locations that the locals know but outsiders are blissfully unaware.
This place is full of sports options from footie, tennis, cricket and basketball. Good vibe on weekends and perfect for families.
Lots of great cafes and food options nearby

sventek Large park with various facilities on site - public toilets (north side toilets seem cleaner than the south ones), playgrounds (south side bigger and fenced, both north and south have BBQs), table-tennis table, tennis courts, basketball half court, lawn bowls, skate park, ovals. About half of the east side is designated dog off-leash area, so Id picnic on the west side instead. Alcohol consumption permitted between 9am and 9pm. There are a few bookable areas for events, cost looks pretty standard, generally

Dharshini M A good walk to this gardens. It was nice with trees to allow for a cooler walk. Theres an off-leash and on-leash section for the pups.

James Cassar One of Melbourne’s most iconic inner-city parks — and a personal favourite since I was young.
Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy is a true gem that offers something for everyone. Whether you’re into sports, picnics, catching up with friends, or just soaking in nature, this park delivers. There’s plenty of open space to kick a ball or have a game of cricket, as well as dedicated basketball and tennis courts. The BBQ areas are great for social gatherings, and there’s a fantastic playground for kids.
What I love most is the vibe — it’s always alive with people enjoying themselves, yet there are still quieter corners where you can reflect or share meaningful moments with loved ones. Dog-friendly, well-maintained, and easily accessible by tram or bike, it’s the perfect place to relax, reconnect, and recharge in the heart of Fitzroy.

Rachel Winter Great for the dogs!
Parking is free on the side of the street closest to the park, but check the signs, (its permit only on the side with the houses). Its a nice quiet suburban area. People are pretty good about picking up after their dogs and there is water available at the water tank. Some lovely paths, a basketball court, soccer field and plenty of open area, as well as shaded spots, perfect for picnics.
