if you happen to miss it or are interested in seeing Billy up front make a short trip up to Emerald station afterwards.
We were lucky enough to jump on for some photos up the very front where the coal is shovelled in.

Andrew Warland This is not a bad place to get a photo but its probably better from the road just above, a short walk away. Unfortunately it bucketed with rain just as the train went over! If you have friends or family catching Puffing Billy, this (or the road above) is a good place to catch the train passing over the bridge.
