Angela Cook Walking into the salon, I felt immediately at ease with the relaxing vibe, all the beautiful plants and Lisa’s welcoming energy. I was pretty stressed when I arrived as I thought I had wrecked my hair. Lisa reassured me immediately that I hadn’t permanently damaged my hair with years of box dyes and quickly came up with a plan. Lisa worked magic on my hair! She did an amazing color correction that made my hair look fantastic! I left the salon feeling relaxed and very happy about the outcome. I highly recommend Lisa for her hair coloring mastery!

Theresa Mundy Lisa consistently does an amazing job with my hair! I have a lot of silver hair that I’m not quite ready to “embrace”, and she is a mad scientist with color, knowing what color is best to cover my silver roots and last between visits, and a color that complements my complexion and personality. I always love the results. Lisa’s expertise also shines through on finding the right cut for my (fine, wavy, shoulder length) hair. The products she uses make my hair feel great without causing damage or irritating my skin. As a person, she’s intelligent, funny, a great conversationist, and is great at remembering details from one visit to the next. I always look forward to my time in her chair. I also love that her salon is green certified- , they recycle all the foils, and even all the cut hair is put to use in other productive ways. I’d give Lisa 10 stars if I could.

Kristy Nall Lisa is an amazing stylist and all around great person!!! I love that I can go to my appointment in sweat pants and no makeup, and relax on my lazy day off without feeling judged. Lisa listened, took the time for an amazing shampoo massage, and delivered an incredible haircut. The salon is so cute, and she even has seat warmers that made it even more cozy and comfortable. Ive never felt so taken care of during my hair appointment!

Jeanette Conery Lisa really takes the time to get to know me, my style, and my hair. Shes been with me through short and long, and helps me understand how to take care of my hair and how to style it. She has a delightful personality and I really look forward to every visit with Lisa.

Marieka Stam Stephanie is such a gem! She has been my hair stylist for many years and I recommend her to everyone. She takes the time to truly understand what you want to achieve with your cut and color. She is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and precise and asks helpful questions. She also has great suggestions if you need ideas. I love that my blond highlights are always expertly blended and look natural. She is also skilled at cutting curly hair. Stephanie is super sweet and kind and we always have great conversations. I absolutely love her new salon too! It is beautifully decorated and has a peaceful, relaxing ambience.

Staci Roethler If you are looking for a quaint, peaceful, cozy comfortable hair salon look no further! True Colors Salon is your place! The beautiful owner Stephanie Rethans is the absolute best. I’ve had Stephanie doing my hair since 2016. She always knows exactly what I want while trying to explain my ideas to her. (I’ve had several over the years) She nails it EVERY time! She keeps up on the newest trends and product. Stephanie is not just a knowledgeable hair stylist either. She’s also very sweet and personable. I love our time together. It makes for a very relaxed hair appointment.

Kyle Redding I have seen Stephanie for the last couple of years and she does an amazing job with my color and cut. She listens to you, takes her time and at the end writes down notes to know what she did so she can get it perfect again the next time. Her new salon is beautiful and relaxing. I’m highly recommended he you will not be disappointed.

Gina Marr Stephanie is an amazing hairstylist! She is so kind and incredibly talented. I trust her with my hair 100%! I highly recommend her for all your hair needs. I’ve gone to several hairstylists since moving to Chico and I’ve happily made her my home. Her salon is so peaceful and relaxing and I love how it’s decorated!

Cameo Cobery Stephanie at True Colors is the BEST, hands down. The attention to detail with color and haircut/style is unmatched. I spent over a year looking for a stylist that was talented, humble and priced right. While many of the hairdressers I met had one or two of the qualities I was looking for, Stephanie was the whole package, and I am so grateful I found her!

simply. syerra If youre an anxiety-filled blabbermouth like me and want a stylist in a relaxed environment + overall vibe, Mel is your gal. Ive been seeing Mel for about 1.5 years now and I cannot thank her enough for all the tips and professional advice. I dont enjoy hair appointments because Im awkward in social settings at times but Mellow Mel made me feel comfortable and quite honestly could fall asleep. My hair has grown so well and has never been healthier + blonde :) her products are amazing! They smell so divine but not overwhelming or artificial scented. Mel has created a wonderful space for her clients and her fellow gals working there who have been nothing but welcoming and respectful. HIGHLY recommend this hair lounge.

Krystal Foster Britt & Mel are literally the best in town! They are so knowledgeable and the work they do is incredible. The salon is absolutely adorable and I look forward to my appointment every single time!

Jenna Redman Maddie has always made my hair look amazing. Im a natural brunette (though erring on the lighter side) but get my hair dyed in the black range and I love it. She knows me so well that when I want her to make a decision on what looks good, she always picks something that makes me happy. Shes fast at her job but never skimps on the process. As someone who has hair down to just above my butt, Ive got a lot of hair - so not having to spend hours in the chair is great! Ill recommend her everyday of the week :)

Melisa Plants Sayge has consistently been the best stylist for my son’s wild curly hair! She does such a good job with styling, creating a nicely finished fade, and listening to his needs. Her salon is a bright, clean, happy, and beautiful space. I always leave feeling happy!

Lauren Gallaway Kylee cut and colored my hair. My hair hadn’t been colored in almost a year so it was grown out and needed some love. Kylee is so sweet and listened to everything I wanted. I’m not very picky and that makes it hard for me to know what I want exactly so I like a little guidance and she knew exactly what to do. Kylee is fun to chat with and has a kind and gentle energy, I really enjoyed having her do my hair.

Cassandra Griffin I cannot say enough good things about this place and its people! I absolutely love this salon! It’s so clean and inviting. Everyone that works there is so friendly. I have been going to Jamie for years and will never leave her! She is so talented and knowledgeable! If you’re looking for fashion colors, look no further.

Jayme Foster Jessica is just beyond amazing. I’ve been going to her for over 10 years now, and she is a color genius. She has the kind of talent you would find in LA or the Bay Area, she’s always educating herself and getting more knowledge about current trends. She is so on point with color and styling (plus she’s exceptionally kind to boot), you will not be disappointed.

Karla Martinez Celine does such a phenomenal job! She took her time and got to know what I wanted and explained what she was going to do with my hair. She even gave me some great hair info! Dave Phelps Carlena prunes my hair every 2-3 months. She is always in a great mood, does an excellent job, and is super efficient. I dont have to tell her anything and my wife and I always love the haircuts I get. Its so nice to chat with her while she works her art that I find it hard to leave. Highly recommended!

Aimee Ellingson Salon diamond is one of the best salons I’ve ever experienced in my life. Ashley is The best! She listens to what you want but also gives great suggestions and pushes you if you want to be pushed into a different direction. Ady N Finding someone who can do a great job on your hair is hard to find but finding someone who consistently does a great job visit after visit is rare. That is what I found when I started going to Amanda I have full confidence in that I will go in and love the color and style she does on me every single time. On top of being an awesome hairstylist she is also a great person to speak to and vent to with no judgement. Emily Zimmerman Almost embarrassed to post this because my Before hair looked SO BAD. BUT - I went in to see Amanda with this crusty hair, wanting to go blonder. She was straight and honest with me about how much she felt we could lift the color. Being a former salon owner ( Bellamy Salon ) She knows her $hit and was able to work her magic with lifting, foiling, blending, toning etc. Her work and experience is exceptional - Ive been going to her for 5+ years and always look forward to my appointments - Not only because she makes my hair look FANTASTIC but her personality and sense of humor is addicting. She deeply cares about her client being 100% satisfied and will do all she can to be sure youre happy and content. P.S. After leaving the salon with my Model hair - I got a whistle and a honk from 2 random drivers... At 41 years old I call that WINNING! Thanks Amanda!!

Madelyn Hope amanda has been doing my hair for almost a decade now and despite moving away from chico, i drive hours and hours to see her still. she has saved my hair from the absolute trenches. i cannot fathom posting the before picture from 2015 cause it is a whole yikes. but let me just say i had chemically fried my hair trying to bleach it from black box dye back when i was 19. she saved it right away and has been keeping it flawless ever since. she is not only a truly remarkable stylist, but a great person to be around; happy, kind, genuine. we are always laughing together. if you’re going to get your hair done, whatever you may want for yourself, it would be a mistake to not choose amanda! she has always had her own salon, but last year she chose to sell her salon and cut down on her hours so she can spend more time with her family and has had to restart her online presence because of that. when i tell you she is remarkable behind the chair, it is an understatement

Sarah Sorensen I love Amanda and have been going to her since I moved back to Chico over 6 years ago! She is always honest about what will and wont work for my hair, but always makes me look amazing no matter what we do. Whether my appointments last one, or seven, hours I always look forward to catching up with her!

Lily Summerville I have been getting my hair cut by Amanda for about 10 years now and I adore her! She does the best work, always collaborates with me on what I want done and I’m so happy with the final product every time. Roy Robinson Dani has been, 100%, the best hair stylist Ive ever trusted to cut my hair. I have very fast growing hair that I personally need to get cut every other week. She has such an amazing way with communicating with every single client. We all know that everyone has a different way of socializing and feeling comfortable. Dani has an amazing gift that allows her to make anyone feel safe and assured in her ability to make them feel their most beautiful and confident. Dani is also one of the best color artists and hair stylists in the greater Northern California area. Dani is not the only talent either. Shareesa and Risa are both extremely talented stylists and artists as well. If you decide to hire these amazing women I can assure youll leave with a confident stride and spectacular smile feeling greater than ever.

Heather Took my mom to Maria. Couldnt be more pleased. Maria was super accommodating and patient. When it came time to help mom transfer back into her wheelchair from the shampoo chair Maria did not hesitate to help me with her. She then trimmed and styled moms hair exactly the way she wanted it. Mom was happy and so was I. So thankful to have been referred to Maria Lewis at Mateo & Co.

krista hill Donated to the Chico Cat Coalition and got a free haircut basically. Kinda of pricey place for me but nice staff and not a bad location. She did a nice job on my hair but you could hardly tell I had a haircut.

Tiffany Williams I just moved to the area and it has been a little bit of a challenge finding anyone with availability. Booking the appointment was a breeze. Sarahbeth was very communicative. We had to move my appointment a couple times due to reasons out of her control, which I appreciate her doing her best to keep my appointment the original date instead of canceling. She has a very sweet personality. She listened to me about what I wanted. I came in to have all my dyed hair cut and leave just my natural color. She did exactly that. She’s very attentive to detail and is very thorough. Not everyone can do pixies and she definitely has the skills. I will definitely go back again!

Jennifer Hays When I first started going to Sarah over 1 year ago now she had to color correct my at home coloring due to Covid. That day I left with beautiful hair and was very pleased. I love getting my hair done by Sarah. She always takes her time to make sure you leave happy with your results. She is friendly and creates a relaxing atmosphere while your there at the salon. My hair is long and despite coloring and bleaching I have been able to grow it out long with her help. She is always flexible with appointments and does her best to work around your schedule.

Sarah Jean Kiefer After years of horror stories with other stylists, I was nervous about finding someone I could trust with my long hair. Hannah has truly been a breath of fresh air. From the 1st appointment, she’s been incredibly precise, friendly, and understanding of what I want. Every visit is a relaxing experience, and she’s so consistent with delivering exactly what I’m hoping for, if not better. I’ve been going to her for years now, and she’s the only stylist I’ve ever trusted enough to do whatever she wants with my hair because I know I’m in the best hands!

Cathy Hronis Hello again, i previously left an outstanding review for Ultra Beautician for the amazing people they have working there, i was thrilled to have finally found my personal hair stylist, then I learned my guy (Larry) whom corrected every mistake my dayghter made on my hair & made me feel confident, pretty & womanly again had been " let go" because he couldnt give me an A-Line...reason being my daughter in beauty school already ruined that vision for me! Larry not only fixed what she messed up but I felt life was good again & I looked better then ever! Now why would this company fire such a talented hair stylist? Maybe I dont give Ultra Beautician such a high recommendation.

Kelly Jolliffe I got my hair cut at Ultra Beautician today with Jake. This was my first visit to this salon. I have never had so much fun getting my hair cut. Jake and the owner of the salon, Deryl, were both incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. It was refreshing. And the salon itself was very homey with a lot of personality and none of that sterile feeling. It was very relaxing. And of coarse my haircut was great! I would highly recommend this salon.

Maxwell Montgomery Love the vibes here! Great haircuts with an added level of care compared to most places. Josh is awesome - he always manages to squeeze me in even at odd hours. He even opened the shop early for me once. 5 stars from me!!

Marvin Debrunner Larry gave me an excellent haircut. He listens, asks questions and devotes himself to you while in his chair. I love my shorter hair, the cut allows me to style in many different ways.

Lauren Hill New location is absolutely amazing! I can’t get over how cute it is. It looks like it’s right out of a magazine. The entire staff is very welcoming and warm. Jackie goes above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of during your appointment. Jenny and Dan do an incredible job highlighting and cutting my hair. They know what looks good and I can 100% trust them with my hair. Love this place so much.

Edlin Melendez I get my lash extensions done by Lauren here and she’s wonderful! Always early, super friendly, and best of all, does a fantastic job EVERY SINGLE TIME. I love my lashes so much, so glad I found her!

Matthew Myers Chris does great mens cuts. Highly recommend. He has a great style. Update: he also does kids haircuts.
