Ellie Wenger Nu Du Salon is the best in Long Beach hands down. They stay up to date on the latest and greatest in hair care - I leave with so much knowledge I feel like I attended a Ted Talk. Meredith the owner knows all her clients personally and exactly what products and care you need based on your hair type and life style. I go in for highlights and my hair always feels bouncy, soft, and full of life when were done. Thanks for saving my hair Nu Du!

Jessica Ivey Meredith and the team at Nu Du have done it again. I was having the worst week and Meredith was able to give me exactly the hair care experience needed to turn my week around! The family at Nu Du are always so friendly and professional. I always look forward to my appointments with the Nu Du family!

Mary Papadopoulos I’m completely at a lost for words. I scheduled an appointment yesterday at 3:30 pm for a color appointment today at 2:15 pm. I’ve had my hair done at NuDu on several occasions with 3 different stylist through the years. My last stylist is no longer there so I asked for first available for a color. There were two ladies at the front, one scheduling and the other one listening. I was told a 2:15 appointment was available & the cost would be around $100. She told me she would need a card to schedule my appointment. Confused I asked what card? They have a 24 hour cancellation policy and would charge my card half the cost for a no show. I replied I’m already past my 24 hrs, so I need to show. I confirmed my 2:15 pm appointment, left the salon and walked in my door and wrote 2:15 pm Hair on a box (see below) to confirm my appointment today. I arrived today, only to be told my appointment was at 12:15 pm ….news to me. I was told they called me, but I did not answer. I was unavailable at 12:15 today. I had a prior appointment and did not have my phone turned on. I would not have scheduled a 12:15 appointment today, due to my prior commitment. I would never question the intelligence of the front desk, I am very service conscious, yet the manager/owner (whom I have supported and recommended the salon to friends) informed me that the front desk is intelligent and she believed her, and I would be charged $50 for a no show. But I was there at 2:15 . Instead asked to leave, charged $50, and my hair not done. The last thing I needed today was to be charged for a service not completed and lose privileges to a salon that I supported, even as stylist changed. Truly upset. I was completely under the impression my appointment was at 2:15 pm. I did not authorize $50 from a 12:15 appointment.

Tina Barry Meredith is not only an amazing stylist but as the owner of the shop, she is a wonderful leader and support for her team. I always get a great hair experience and the vibe in the shop is perfect.

Raavee Ralhan Good for hair dye, but not this is not for curly hair people. The dye job was done well. I had asked for blowdry just so the dye doesnt get on my shirt from wet hair, my words exactly. I even mentioned that its ok if my hair is slightly damp because even at home, it takes a long time to dry. But instead, there was an attempt to straighten my hair. I didnt ask for that. No one with straight hair walks out of a salon with a perm, so why should a curly haired person walk out with straight hair? Also my shirt got bleached as well, which usually doesnt happen with my regular. Edit: my baby hairs in the front turned blonde, I guess because I wash my face. I didnt realize a simple face wash could strip a semi-permanent dye. I usually dont have this problem with other hair stylists. I dont think Ill be returning here again.

L Eliot Love this place. Ive been going for years and have started bringing my elderly mom. They are always very kind and patient with her. Salon is always clean, professional and welcoming. Update 2021: I still love this place! Still very clean and well-run. Spacious and well-lit. Large selection of products for sale. I’ve been with Martha for many years and she’s wonderful. Only problem is she books up for weeks or even months but she’s worth the wait.

Andi Hendricks Im not sure how I havent posted a review already so this one is LONG overdue! Ive been to see Angie many times and Im always happy with the outcome. I never know what I want done yet she manages to exceed my expectations every time. She does an excellent job at choosing cuts, styles and colors that suit me. Took my daughter last weekend and shes ecstatic with the results. Now to find time for me!!!

P E Teaford I stumbled upon this place after considering some other salon recommendations from friends (it was their sign/logo). Im glad I took a chance because Ive been a customer for three years and I predict growing old with them! I feel like theyre are trendy without being off-putting. My stylist is KD, and she does fantastic work with my hair. She is also extremely engaging and charming. This salon is always busy, which is a very good sign, and everyone is friendly, happy, and welcoming (the owners, the many stylists, and the wonderful receptionists). They also have Bumble & Bumble products, which I love.

Patricia Pagel Wheeler Leland is a master at his craft. I’ve never found anyone that compares. After going to Leland for well over 20 years he’s perpetually building his knowledge about hair, products and the science behind great color. Currently he’s helping me gracefully transition to gray and I couldn’t be happier. I have curly hair but like the option to go straight. Leland knows how to cut my hair so it looks amazing both ways and uses keratin treatments that allow me to go curly without the frizz and straight while taming the effects of humidity. Leland has a great sense of humor, an easy going style and he’ll be honest about what will work for your hair. He’s an absolute gem.

Greta Sievert The JWG salon is very comfortable. All the stylists I’ve seen at work there do a great job for their clients. My Amiga & stylist extraordinaire Claudia is gifted at color & cuts. She’s also so charming and cute with her Latina hippie chic style that she’s far too young to remember. If your looking for a change of salon, try it out. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Amanda Stansbery I’ve been seeing Leland for 5 years now. I absolutely love him and his work. My hair always looks amazing after seeing him. He knows how to cut curly hair and if anyone has curly hair, you know how hard it is to find a stylist that knows how to take care of it. I get my hair colored and cut with him. I receive so many compliments on my hair color. I highly recommend him if you’re looking for a new stylist.

Jim Lasota Sky has been doing my hair for 20+ years. She meticulous, current, honest and fun. There’s nothing she won’t try or attempt. Add to that a trip to the psychologist, a fashion discussion, and food talk make a trip to Sky absolute Zen!

Laura P. I needed to have my hair returned to its original color from a previous dye job - done at a different establishment - a few months back. I was basically a half and half with the grays showing at the top. Isabel was an incredible stylist who knew right away what needed to be done. She made me comfortable, let me know exactly what she was going to do, and walked me through the process from beginning to end. When it was over, I had my original hair color back! Eva Barbaro Heather saved my hair!! I found this place on google/yelp after relocating to LB and going to a salon that did a sad job on my hair elsewhere. The owner got back to me a few hrs after contacting them, and the stylist that they booked me with, Heather, was fabulous! Stoked to have found a new salon to visit regularly. Brittany Clark Holly did not do my hair, there was another stylist who did it. I came in and wanted a root touch up on my extremely dark roots. I got an on scalp bleach and tone. The bleach was burning my scalp and I wanted to get it rinsed off but she insisted not too because it would be brassy but I didn’t even care at that point. When I went to wash my hair SO much of my hair fell out. There were chunks of my hair down to my waist and I usually do my own hair and that has never happened before.

Kelly Hanson Holly has been cutting and coloring my hair for over a decade and I still drive 40 minutes because she is worth it. She is the nicest person and I always love how my hair turns out. I get a number of compliments too. With Covid, they have added a fantastic outdoor setup, even with a place to wash hair!

Amanda Everly Honestly my favorite salon I’ve ever been to. It’s the perfect size, intimate but still chic. The vibe is laid back and beautiful. All the stylists are crazy talented and really kind. My fave is Nina—she’s a complete magician with hair. Color is her THING. I’ve been blonde, brunette and red with her, and I’ve never left her chair anything short of infatuated with my hair. Plus she’s so down-to-earth and makes you feel immediately at home. 10/10 recommend ⭐️

I know I’m in good hands in her seat— she provides a consistent experience and quality each time— whether I’m styling my natural hair or doing braids/weaves/color treatments. She does it all and is skilled.

Aijah Brunson I have been going to Class of Elegance for over 10 years. I’ve gotten many hairstyles with Ms. Monique, the shop’s owner. The styles I’ve personally received range from wash & condition, coloring, box braids, cornrows, press & flat iron, haircuts, bangs, as well as individual braid styles. There’s a reason I’ve stayed consistent with Class of Elegance — Ms. Monique is the best! She not only does beautiful hairstyles, but she takes pride in helping her clients maintain healthy hair. Davo Dilemmas I have been here multiple times and Touchd Hair Studios does NOT miss…great work by everyone. The braider Sydney has really outdone herself with my hair and the owner Joy is so nice. I’ve enjoyed all of my experiences and look forward to future services. You may have to answer a lot of questions when booking but it’s to ensure you’re receiving the style/service you want. They’re all about making sure you get what you’re paying for. Highly recommend. Tell a friend to tell a friend and another friend!

Irene Conforti Joy and Ashley are a dream team. Highly recommend Ashley’s cut and color. Joy has a specialty in beautiful extensions. Together they made the entire service feel extraordinary. Grateful for the level of detail and attention they paid to my hair from start to finish. Setting the appointment was super easy. I have a latex allergy and they accommodated without skipping a beat. Beyond that the salon has good energy. And most importantly my hair looks great! The color is exactly what I asked for and my hair looks healthy with the layered cut. Getting your hair done at Touch’d is a worthwhile luxury.

Christine Grisanti I usually see Nika. She did a great job coloring and cutting my hair in the past. I called today to make an appointment with her however she’s on vacation. They were able to give me in with a different stylist Unfortunately I forgot his name. He also did a great job. I was so happy they could squeeze me in last minute like that. Lorraine Gallegos So I really wanted a perm very hesitant but I did it anyway wish I never did I went there. Everybody was very nice. Good customer service had a girl do my hair. She was very fast. She didnt leave the permanent long enough. My hair was totally not the curl I wanted when I showed her a picture that I wanted. She cut my hair without even telling me how much she was cutting. So when I went home the next day I told her my hair was not even curly on top. She told me To come in, but that she would have to cut more of my hair. She already had cut off by 3 inches. She said that the curl would get tighter if she cut my hair absolutely not. She never even called me back to see how my hair was. It was such a waste of money. Never again. My hair is 2 months out and its straight. And dead It was like I went into a salon to get my haircut and burnt. Thats it. I wish I could post a picture on here of my hair.

Isabel Macias I’ve been going to Shear n Shine for 10 years now! I usually have Ken do my hair, I just love him, but if for some reason he’s not available, Ben has done my hair. He’s awesome too! Soreda, is incredible, but book in advance, as her availability is limited. 5 stars plus!!!!

Kyvalee Nguyen A bit of a delayed review but I went to Janet back in January for a hair cut. I found her thanks to a friend recommending her to me and also finding out she did my mom’s wedding hair. It was so easy to book an appointment and come the next day to be welcome by her and her mother. They make you feel so welcome and the atmosphere is so calm and relaxing. Janet does amazing work with cutting hair and I love the way she layered my hair for a wolf cut. It still looks so good even after half a year of growing it out again, the layers still look so good. I would definitely come here again to get anything done to my hair.

A. I asked for her to trim my bangs, and she thinned them out instead. I look like Im balding, and no matter what I do, it just looks awful. This is the best their gonna get.

Jordan Sanchez Cherry Blossom Hair Studio exceeded my expectations for a blowout experience. From the moment I stepped into the salon, I was greeted with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Janet transformed my hair into a flawless and voluminous blowout. She left my hair stunning, incredibly soft, and manageable. Her and her mom are so sweet! Cant recommend this place enough.

Daisy Yoeung This review is long overdue. I have been going to Janet at the Cherry Blossom for a couple of years now. My hair is coarse, wavy, frizzy and dry (I use a lot of heat products). Until I met Janet, I always had trouble finding someone who could work with my hair type. I always come in with a picture inspiration or something in mind and Janet does magic to my hair. I’ve always left happy with my new do. We have played around with so many colors and styles from ombre, balayage, to single color dye. Most recently I wanted the rose gold look and I was so happy with how it came out. Before I left that visit, she gave me tips on how to keep the color vibrant and products to use to prevent it from fading. Being that my hair is so wavy, frizzy and hard to manage I had her do the Brazilian blowout on one of my visits. It was a process, but It left my hair so silky smooth and I probably didn’t use any heat products for over 6 months because I had no need to. If you have my hair type you probably know what I am talking about when it comes to having to style it every day in order to manage it, but this helped. I will definitely be doing a Brazilian Blowout again. The last part of my review is on wedding hair do. I got married last year and being that Janet knows how to work with my hair I decided she should be the one to do my wedding hair. I really wanted hair extensions for my wedding, so she helped me choose the right brand and hair pieces. I had a hair trial with her before the wedding to work on my inspiration of half up and half down with my hair extensions. The day of the wedding the style came out perfect and my hair-do stayed in place until I went to sleep that night. Needless to say Janet knows her stuff and I always look forward to my next hair appointment to play with some new styles and colors.

Ian Burke I had an amazing experience at Star Salon! My stylist, Taylor, gave me a clean, modern cut that was exactly what I wanted. They were professional, attentive, and made sure every detail was perfect. The salon atmosphere was relaxing, and I left feeling refreshed and confident. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sharp mens haircut!

Aurora Villasenor Miguel and Danny are definitely the best! They are both very professional and have pride on what they do. They provide excellent customer service and their work is remarkable. Danny does my color and I definitely love it. Miguel does my haircut and I always recieve compliments! They do a great job!

Karen Washburn Ness Michelle is the absolute best. She has been doing my hair for 20 plus years, and the service is nothing short of amazing EVERY time. I get endless compliments on my hair, and I have her to thank. The whole D&D team is top notch.

Al Do I booked to see Daniela for a haircut. I do have fairly wavy hair and was hoping to get a cut that would help to enhance my curl pattern. I’ve been with my previous hairstylist for over 8 years and sadly she moved away. I am thankful to have booked an appointment with Daniela. The way she explained her cut to me just made sense. There was a method to her technique. She ended the cut and mentioned to me that it was our first interaction and she is learning about my hair, so it may take a few times to get a better understanding what my hair type needs. I was amazed and pleased to leave the salon with a new style and look. Many stylists in the past would get lost or give up on my hair. Her persistence to learn what my concerns and expectations really helped me stay at ease. I’m grateful and pleased with my hair. My curl pattern is more defined and my hair feels much lighter without the frizz.

Elisa Bravo Melissa always does such a beautiful job with my hair! My experience is always so comfortable and nice. She is very talented and truly knows how to translate exactly what you want.

Mary Ann Bailey The service and experience at Dean Anthony is unmatched. Michelle always gives amazing cuts and style and her cororing is always great! I’ve even stated bringing my daughter and she loves the experience as well!

Hannah Hesseltine Everyone at this salon was nice, including my stylist. However, I would not recommend this salon for young women with short hair. I came in with pictures of how I style my hair when it’s freshly cut and in its natural texture. Instead of honoring what I asked for, I proceeded to get cut as if I asked for a rounded (and dramatic) French Bob. Think Lord Farquaad cut. My hair now has layers that I didn’t ask for or want. It’s shorter in the back. The entire cut is noticeably uneven. It sits like it was hacked by a weed whacker and its very bottom heavy. And sadly, now, it’s incredibly difficult to style in the ways I’ve always styled my short hair which before, was low maintenance and cute. I would come in to get it fixed, but I’m unsure I’d trust the salon enough to make the necessary changes (or if it’s even fixable until it’s grown out). Overall, really disappointed and don’t feel the stylist took my opinions and requests into account when cutting. I won’t be back and I’m frustrated that I paid so much money for my hair to be ruined. I’m sad to leave this review, but I’m so disappointed with the cut that I feel I need to. :/ I’ve included photos for reference, including photos of my hair after my last cut at another salon (black shirts) and how I typically style it (waved and straight). I showed these photos to the stylist and asked for exactly that cut, but it was not what I received. Photos in the sweatshirt are of my hair this weekend after a cut at Dean Anthony.

CJ Jilly Diana got skills. Her colleague is also very nice and very good at haircuts. When you get a bad haircut somewhere, its not just a bad day. Could be a bad month. Straight traumatic! Never have that problem here. Diana has never messed up my hair and I always leave feeling glad I chose to go to her. Ive come from the OC before just to get her to do it because I have 100% confidence in her skills! Even though its mostly women they do an excellent mens haircut. Very affordable. I cant believe the prices some of these places are charging for a fade. Not Diana at Hair Basix. They come thru.....HARD! Every. Time!

Cheryl Estep I have been looking for a new stylist for over 6 months. I was bouncing around and was never really happy with my style or color. Today I made a last minute booking with Laiza. I am beyond happy with the results. When you walk in you get a sense of family. They work as a team, collaborating and helping each other. It has a great vibe. And the shampoo bowl is actually comfortable! Very different than most salons. Laiza was meticulous in applying my color. Oscar gave me a cute sassy style. I absolutely love my hair! I found my new salon. Thank you for such an amazing experience!
