Juna Hwang Digital perm by Bella! Came all the way from San Francisco to get a perm and it was so worth it! Bella was super sweet and very thorough in taking care of my hair. I had extremely dry hair from previous bleaching and perms but that was fixed through the recommended treatment and trim before the perm. The digital perm itself came out amazing. I would rank it the best perm I’ve gotten thus far. It came out exactly the way I wanted it to with curtain bangs and beautiful curls that are easily manageable for my busy schedule. Bella was friendly and easy to talk to throughout the whole process which showed a great amount of care she had for me as her client. I would highly recommend Bella and I will definitely be coming back in the future :)

A P Over 2.5 years ago, I was searching for a hair stylist who could work with my hair to achieve the style that I wanted. I was recommended to Ellie and have been with her ever since. She is absolutely phenomenal! In fact, I dont live in Los Angeles but will make the hours long commute just to see her. Ellie is hard working, detail oriented, skillful, experienced, and thoughtful. Whenever I make specfic requests or share reference pictures, she always exceed expectations. Whenever I am unsure of what I want, she always provides thoughtful recommendations. Throughout our session, she always makes sure that I am comfortable and well cared for. I always leave the salon feeling more confident than when I came in - and Ellie is to thank! Additionally, it is extremely easy to book with her! Her booking page is very intuitive and her communications are clear and thorough. Dustin Vu This was the best hair-cut experience Ive had in my life thus far. We were immediately greeted by the front desk, very friendly and organized (all information/scheduling was on record). They were able to be flexible with our time; we were reserved for 2pm but were accepted into an opening an hour earlier. The haircut involved robing, hair-wash, and complimentary tea and snacks. Our stylist was Lydia. The way I can describe the experience with her is that you felt secure; she acknowledged our wishes but also expressed her own expertise about what would fit my facial and head-shape features. Every decision and step was well-communicated and deliberate, and there was no discomfort. She is a master of the craft. Afterward, we washed hair again and the finishing touches were given with final adjustments and a hair styling; the cut felt so light and refreshing. Cant recommend this place and Lydia enough! Thanks to my girlfriend for the recommendation!

alexis torres Wesley is the best hairstylist in all of LA!!!! came in with dark brown hair wanting to go lighter and add extensions (never had extensions installed before). he first colored my hair to match my extensions and the color turned out great. i absolutely love the way it looks, i keep touching it and flipping my hair it’s so soft. i also received a full makeup glam with Walt to complete the whole look. i looked so beautiful (i know i already am) . They are truly the perfect team. Never going to anyone else!! check them out!!

Midge Lee Mina and Annie did such a fantastic job! I went from fine, dark hair to an ashy, golden blonde. It took all day to lighten everything without over-processing it but it was so worth it. They also gave me a very flattering hair cut after I hadn’t cut it in over a year. One hundred percent would recommend if you’re looking someone who understands bleaching/dyeing and cutting Asian hair.

Mary Paradise I absolutely love the vibe here. Not only is the vibe right but they get you looking right. I have been going here for a year and a half and they absolutely always get me looking right. And their decor is super cute. I absolutely love everytime I go and get my hair done. I did my research when it came to finding the best place to get my hair done and Im so glad I found it. Clover Austin I got a cut and vivid balayage from Rebecca @vanityhairla on insta. I’m obsessed with the work she did!!! Her understanding of hair color blew my mind! This was my first time ever going vivid so I was a bit nervous but she made me feel so confident and at ease with the colors and cut we chose. It felt like a true collaboration. Rebecca walked me through everything she was doing and made sure I was completely on board with all the decisions. Shes also just super fun, silly and personable!! I got to meet the owner, Jordan, too who seemed super down to earth! I love the space she’s created especially the adorable bathroom wallpaper hehe!! and I like that it’s downtown but street parking is free and not too hard to find. 12/10 would recommend Rebecca (@vanityhairla) and this studio.

Not only did she do an amazing job but made me feel more confident in my hair, it’s always nice to go to a stylist who knows how to bring your vision to life. Joy Cohen I love this salon and its people! I’ve been going here for a number of years, and the energy is warm, fun, and creative. I go to Amanda for my long ice blue mane, but I would feel safe in any chair in THAIR. If I were to ever go blonde, Jordan the owner, would be my number one choice! It’s usually not easy to get the right pastel blue, but Amanda is a creative color expert. I have been 100% thrilled with the color, cut, and condition of my hair every time I walk out of Thair Salon!!

Kelsey Jeffers This salon is beautiful and so inclusive! They make you feel so welcome and Diana is an absolute GEM! I’ve gone a few times now and had my hair done by her and each and every time I’ve been BLOWN AWAY. I leave feeling beautiful with soft and healthier hair than I came in with. She’s attentive and pays attention to every little detail. Her specialty is vivid color so if you want something fun and bright she’s definitely your girl! She’s also very easy to talk to and if you don’t feel like chatting is more than happy to give you a silent appointment for peaceful pampering. You can’t go wrong booking an appointment with her. Also bonus the bathroom is GORGEOUS. So happy I found this place and Diana.

McKenzie Bradford I had such an amazing experience with Art. He really cares about the work that he does and will do everything to ensure that you get the desired outcome for your hair. I had been dealing with grown out and damaged bleached hair for a while, and he took the time to give me a consultation before scheduling an appointment since what I needed wasn’t simple. Joey Torres After 7 years of having long hair, it was getting frizzy, and I knew it was time for a change. Sara did an amazing job with my men’s haircut and eyebrow threading. She also used a clean hair treatment that made my hair look and feel healthy again, and the hair that was cut off is being donated. My girlfriend had her hair cut and styled by Naz, and it came out looking great. On top of that, they offer complimentary coffee just the way you like it. Salon Biology is top-notch—I highly recommend them!

Aubrey was fantastic at listening to what I wanted and did not want, looking at only a few inspiration photos I had and sharing her professional expertise to meet my desired state. My hair situation was; brunette who had taken hair lighter over the last few years yet let roots and grays grow out the last 6-months. The rest of my hair was brassy and orange. Raquel I was in LA for a concert about 2 weeks ago and had time to kill. Was feeling spontaneous and decided to get a haircut with the couple hours I had. I started googling places and all the reviews for this salon were great. I was skeptical at first from the picture of the outside but I called and Julie was able to get me in super fast. She could also quote me over the phone what her starting prices were (which I thought was too good to be true) something that a lot of salons don’t like to disclose until you’re in their chair. It was a relaxing atmosphere. The service came with shampoo and conditioner and the full haircut. Julie was so genuine and you could tell she truly loves her job. She keeps her prices affordable for the average person as myself which I appreciated so much. Please support small businesses like this salon as Julie is the owner and only stylist, it’s hard to keep busy when there’s so many other salons in LA. In the end, I came out loving my haircut and know if I’m in LA and in need of a random haircut again, I will definitely be going back.

allison robbins julie is amazing! i was looking for something local for a trim and was able to get in for a walk in. i have difficult hair and normally have bad experiences with haircuts, but julie gave me the best haircut i’ve had in years. she is incredibly experienced and affordable. 10/10 recommend, will definitely be coming back!

The owner, Dalia, is amazing. She is truly passionate about her work. She took the time to look and assess my overprocessed hair, and was really committed to turning it around. rawriorr bro Walked in for a mens cut because I couldnt make an appointment with my usual stylist at Jixo Salon in time for my event , and Im pleased to say it came out great. I was seated within a few minutes, showed some samples and discussed some options and my stylist even had some ideas and suggestions that I thought sounded great. The end result was exactly what I wanted and probably even a bit better with her personal touches. Very glad I picked the right place. And the price was excellent. Just $12 for a mens cut! Glad it just leaves me more to tip :)!

Rak Tak I love this Salon. Amina started my Locs 5 years ago. I had an Afro and she recommend the instant loc method. I was really happy with the end result. I have been going to salon daba since then for my loc maintenance. My favorite is the loc retwist. I love how nice and knowledgeable Amina and her team are. Highly recommend this shop. Esthelle Ewusi-Boisvert Great first experience at Salon Daba! Came in to get touch-ups on my faux locs, and was able to text with them beforehand about the service. They were greatly communicative and transparent about their offerings and pricing. Once there, I didnt wait long before being seated and the stylist re-confirmed with me to make sure I wanted my whole head and not just the front retouched. I was able to let her know that my scalp was sensitive, and requested that my roots dont be wrapped too tightly. She made sure to keep checking-in with me throughout the service, and she adjusted as needed! I immediately booked a follow-up for take down in a couple weeks and will be coming here for protective styles from now on. Thank you so much!!

Kyra Andrews I decided to try this salon after seeing all the positive reviews, but sadly I did not have a good experience here. The first thing I noticed was the poor hospitality and lack of communication. I have 5 month old locs, and booked a retwist appointment, but when I arrived they were not aware that they needed to wash my hair...Strange as a loc salon, but they were able to wash my hair. Amina was my stylist. She was very rough, sprayed water in my face, and did not clean my hair at all. When I mentioned to them that my hair was not clean, they offered to do an ACV rinse, but ended up not being able to do it because they didnt know the price of it and the owner wasnt answering the phone...I got the feeling that they just didnt want to take the time to properly cleanse my hair. Then when it came to retwisting my hair, she used a lot of gel that left my scalp and strands very flaky. Not only is my hair itchy but its also flaky. Ive had way better experiences at other salons and would not be returning to this salon. I assume theyre only good to braid hair (not wash it, and definitely not to care for locs). Update: 1/8/24 - After leaving this review, the owner of the salon messaged me apologizing for my experience and offered to service me again free of charge. I thought that was a very kind thing to do and appreciated it. However, my experience was even worse than the last and I really just want to share it to prevent others from having their new locs ruined. This time, they made me wait an hour and a half to get serviced, tied loops/knots at the end of my locs (even after asking them to stop doing that), sprayed spritz in my hair, and left me looking crazy. See photos. I hope they stop advertising as a loc salon because to some people their locs are very important and sacred and to ruin it like they did to me is just unacceptable.

Usually after a haircut, I need to wait a couple weeks before I start liking how the cut looks on me, but thats definitely not the case here! Somi and Dennis do an amazing job at understanding exactly how I want my hair cut and styled, and are extremely detail oriented. Somi has the magic touch when it comes to hair! I absolutely adore the way she is able to bring a hairstyle I want to life, and also provide feedback on what would look better on me. Aside from styling, shes also very knowledgeable, and is able to answer questions I have about the quality of my hair. Both Somi and Dennis always go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable and that I truly love my hair before I walk out of the studio. Its always a great time whenever I visit! Tip: try to make an appointment before visiting, they can get pretty busy!

Pui Wai Fung A very efficient and enjoyable experience. Love the scents they have throughout the salon. The hair and scalp treatments are great way to reset your mind. I like how the area is darker and quiet. Kelly, I really like her, pleasant and sincere. She also helps me to translate what I want to achieve to Mr. Jacob. I finally get a good start with a great haircut and learn a few tricks from another assistant on how to set my hair higher from my scalp.

Mia Sadowski I had such an amazing experience at the salon! The entire team really made sure the entire process of getting my hair cut and color was comfortable. My hair came out feeling so soft even after dying it. I had some trouble deciding my color, but Calev and the team helped me choose a color that ultimately suites the look I desired super well. Caleb did an incredible job cutting my hair as well. I did a layered cut with bangs, and everything was well blended and cut exactly the way I wanted it to. They also provided some snacks and parking is convienently right behind the building. Great experience!

Emma Amazing service from the moment I walked in! I showed up with quite a few bags and was happy to know they had a wall of lockers where I could keep my personal items. Chanwoo greeted me and led me to have my hair washed. He said my scalp was a little dry and so he proceeded to give me a complimentary scalp treatment. What followed I can only describe as a spiritual experience of aromas and a heavenly scalp massage by Chanwoo. I wasn’t completely sure what hair style I wanted and was pleasantly surprised they had a look book of hairstyles to share with me for some inspo. Caleb was my hair stylist, he is creative director of the studio, and he is a master sculptor of hair. I am completely blown away by my haircut! His attention to detail is unparalleled. I look forward to my next cut at Hair Arca.

Sihyeong Lee I recently got a haircut at Hair Arca, and I couldn’t be more satisfied! The shop’s atmosphere made me feel like I was back in Korea — clean, detailed, and so relaxing overall. It’s one of the most comfortable environments I’ve experienced in a salon. The service was absolutely top-notch. Honestly, this was the best haircut I’ve ever had in my life! I specifically booked Caleb after seeing their name mentioned in Google reviews, and wow, Caleb’s expertise really stood out. From the equipment to the skills, everything felt incredibly professional — possibly the best I’ve experienced in the U.S. The other staff members were also very friendly and professional. Even if I can’t book with Caleb next time due to scheduling, I’d feel confident trying out services with other stylists. I also got to try their new scalp massager during the hair wash, and it was such a satisfying and unique experience — something I think is pretty rare to find in the U.S.! This time, I only got a haircut, but with this level of service, I’m already thinking of growing my hair out and trying a perm in the future. As long as I stay in LA, I think I’ll become a regular customer at Hair Arca.

C Che E Spr Service here is amazing. I went in to do a complete color and style change. It was amazing!! Patty and Jazmin took their time to slowly bleach my hair and do the multi tone color I wanted. I found my go-to place for amazing hair. Update: Color changed recently. As always, they did spectacular color and never shy away from the colors I want. Im currently sporting a violet+ magenta+ blue color mix. Pictures below.

Lucy A I went to this salon about a week ago. I got a hair cut and a keratin treatment on my hair. Patti cut my hair and did the treatment. She did an amazing job I came out completely a different person. She restore my confidence she completely did a whole makeover on my hair and myself. The keratin treatment is great am in love with my hair. Love the fact that now I can have my hair down and not have it in a bun all the time. After a week with this treatment and already washed my hair it’s still straight, soft, and silky. My hair looks healthy and I have gotten so much compliments on my hair. So if anybody wants to get a keratin treatment go to this salon and ask for Patti. Overall any services. She is amazing, friendly, and makes you feel welcome. Great salon and definitely will be seeing her again in a few months.

Efi Litberg I had been looking for a new stylist for quite some time. I was introduced to Jessica Phillips (JP) by a friend. My hair has been dry and the color had grown out and I had such a terrible experience with my prior stylist, I was reluctant to try someone new. I’m so glad I did. JP’s knowledge and vision for what my hair needed far exceeded my expectations. My hair came out looking so shiny, and the color is exactly what I’ve wanted. Jason Mendoza Been here twice now! Second time getting a perm and cut by Sunny! This salon is the best. Parking is easy and validated. The salon itself is modern, sleek, and very clean. During my visit, Sol was super kind and helpful the whole process. Sunny knows how to cut my hair to not only what I like, but what looks the best on me. She also gives really good tips on styling and aftercare. Overall, always a great experience! Everyone is so kind and very professional. I will be returning for another visit very soon.

As a man with long hair, its hard to find someone, almost impossible, that can cut your hair that looks great when cut and continues to grow out beautifully between cuts.
