Jami Baltz Emily is a master! I wanted extensions for my wedding, and I had plans to get them with someone else, but things fell through. Emily was able to get me in ASAP for a consultation and then for the service. I was very hesitant, because it was very expensive – more than I wanted to pay for extensions, however, now I know why. The quality of service and treatment were so worth it. The color and texture matching were perfect! I know that if I did something else less expensive it would not have looked this good. I had so many compliments regarding my hair from friends and family, and they could not believe it wasn’t my real hair. As they say, you get what you pay for. Lorraine Calvert Amy cut my hair and the results were great. An excellent cut, heathy and bouncy. Its a bit strange when you arrive at the salon If your stylist doesnt greet you. Everyone is independent and although they are all supposed share"door" duty, no one really does. As for Amy, shes terrific.

Kat Arooni This is a post of an incident I saw recently at the salon. While getting a hair cut, there was a little boy playing in the hallway. He was not bothering anyone. Ernest, a salon artist, yelled at the mother and demanded her child be taken out of the facility, the establishment was not a playground. After she apologized and said her child was autistic, Ernest continued to yell at her and threatened her to take matters outside. The child was terrified. He may have been maybe 7 years old. As they were leaving, he continued to yell at them, and said to not bring her trash here. I am just appalled at this man’s behavior. I will never go to this salon.

And then, I found Ms. Dinger by my friend’s recommendation, and had a haircut. As a result, everyone in our family liked my haircut and so do I! Renee Celio Great service, easy to get an appointment. Forgot her name, but the lady who works there is very sweet. However, I am devastated over my hair. I specifically showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and she said she would be able to do it. I reminded her twice that I did not want it to be cut super short (only 1 inch), yet she hacked at my hair and cut off at least 5 inches. It took me 2 years to grow out my hair to the length I wanted it just for her to cut everything off. I know it is not that big of a deal, but my hair is very important to me and I am upset at how she did not listen to my request.

J K Selina is awesome! Very friendly and the one-woman show behind I-Salon. I got a trim for $35 and she also flat ironed my hair as a part of the process. This did not include washing my hair, which I was fine with as the haircut looked great for the price. She is bilingual in Mandarin and English. Selina also only takes cash or Venmo. She also does keratin straightening (my quote was $250 for my hair that is about 4 inches below my shoulder) and balayage (again, my quote was $250). Happy to support this local San Mateo business!

Yating Lin Selina is super nice and friendly! I did a hair straighten and a Brazilian blowout at this salon. She helped me deal with my messy natural curls, made my hair so smooth and shiny, and the haircut is very stylish. I really appreciate her efforts and would highly recommend this place.

Allen Jiang Went to this Asian lady’s beauty salon for hair cut in San Mateo downtown. She does very good job with her technique especially for Asian hair style. Highly recommend Asian friends for this place.

Paul K Binh is great. She has consistently given me a good haircut. That being said, the guy thats cutting the hair (presuming its the husband) is horrendous. Asked for a fade and a line up. Not only is the fade inconsistent, but also the line up is completely botched. He cut way too deep on one side and tried to convince me that it was even. Just look at the pictures and youll see how badly this was cut. Its not even close. Now I have to walk around looking like this flaming heap of garbage.

AJ Cole I’ve been going to Binh’s Family Haircare for around 15 years, and Binh feels like family at this point. She’s warm, welcoming, and treats everyone who visits her salon with genuine care. Her prices are reasonable, and her skill is unmatched. After hundreds of haircuts over the years, I can say I’ve always left feeling happy and satisfied. I honestly don’t know what I’ll do when she retires or moves on—she’s truly one of a kind. Thank you, Binh, for everything you do! I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Viv She is terrible about womans hair cut. She cut my hair way too short and not even leveled at the bottom. She simply use trimmer to make my hair short and layer but the tip of hair fly everywhere. It is terrible. It makes my face itchy all the time. Everyday I have to wear this terrible hair and feel angry about it. She tried to finish my hair within 30 mins so she didnt even want to dry my hair after. I will never goto her place again. Womans hair does cost much more than mans, right? But she didnt even want to spend a little more time on it.
