Ed Brodow A stressful stress test was made palatable because of the caring, personal, and professional treatment by the entire staff including Todd, Jeannine, Suzanne, Yurika, Grace, and Dr. Mike Galloway (he should write a book about bedside manner -- his is outstanding). I hope I wont be seeing them for a long time, but if I do, I know I can look forward to the same exceptional treatment. Bravo!

Cynthia SCHMIDLIN Dr. Casey Grover saw my husband at the CHOMPS ER recently, following a fall and concussion. He diagnosed Hydrocephalus, after ordering a CAT scan to determine any underlying causes for the fall, other than balance issues occurring for over two years. Not one of the doctors or physical therapists who have been seeing him thought of testing for this condition. Like hundreds of thousands who are afflicted with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, his symptoms were attributed to arthritis and other age-related issues. The neurologist to whom Dr. Grover referred us confirmed the diagnosis. He referred us to a neurosurgeon who can operate to drain the excess cranial spinal fluid in his brain, stop any further neurological damage, and reverse some serious symptoms. Thank you, Dr. Grover, from the bottom of our hearts.

Gloria Shipley Dr Kasim performed both of my shoulder replacements , of which I’ve had great results. She also treated me for carpal tunnel and a broken kneecap. She is caring and efficient, answers all of my questions honestly and always gets me right in when I’m having any issues with a procedure.

Marina M. First of all, my doctor is great. I trust his opinion, and appreciate that he listens to me. Office staff are helpful and polite, and Ive never had an excessively long wait. (Big plus for current times!) The office is impeccably clean, and the building is in a beautiful location.
5 /5
Laraye Sullivan The staff was friendly and warm upon welcoming me to the office. The assistant that took me back greeted me with a smile and was very polite. Each member from arrival to departure introduced themselves and was very informative about the next steps. As for the Doctor, she explained what my issue was and provided for me additional information about the upcoming procedure and how to care for myself in the meantime. I left not having any questions about what was next as they were very thorough.

Diane Ruiz This was my first visit ever and I must say the entire staff was kind, friendly, and professional. Dr. Hell did not give me "hell," but mainly ease, education, and hope. He was absolutely mindful, thorough, and outstanding in the way he took care of my GI issues and needs. As much as I would not want to go into clinics for any illnesses, I highly recommend this wonderful physician and all of the staff that helps aid the health of everyone who needs it there. I am beyond grateful and look forward to my following appointment in a few weeks. Thank you G.I. Monterey and Salinas!

His staff are warm and welcoming and make you feel comfortable. His assistant helping him at the time was amazing as well. They are so kind here and preserve the dignity and respect of their patients. They are FOR SURE a 5 star OBGYN. Thank you for all you do for women.

Levantine dialect I am extremely disappointed with the service at Laima. Before going through with the appointment, we were assured multiple times that our insurance would cover the costs. However, we were hit with a surprise bill afterward, with no prior notice or explanation. This unexpected charge was a complete shock, as we had been told everything was covered. The lack of transparency and clear communication is unacceptable. We trusted their word, but instead, we were left to deal with an unnecessary financial burden. I would not recommend Laima based on this experience.

çağla kılıç He is an amazing Obgn and the best you can find!! I looked for obgns a lot and I would recommend him to everyone. We came here all the way from San Jose for him and was very happy about it. He is extremely caring, knowledgable, takes time to listen to your concerns, answers all the questions, always smiles and always increases your mood. Just like in other European countries, he makes plenty of ultrasounds instead of just 3 to make sure all is well with the baby especially in risky pregnancies which I loved because it is not harmful at all to the baby. The office and the doctor is always accessible. The Staff was extremely nice and kind as well! Wait time can be a little bit long but I would definitely prefer waiting for such a good care.

Maya Robinson I met Dr. Vladimir and staff a year or so ago for my sisters ultrasound visit; as a guest I felt so welcomed and delighted by the care that was given to my sister. Now I am a patient and I can say that the care, professionalism, warm welcoming, knowledgeable, and understanding of the doctor and staff is what I am extremely grateful for to recieve! The team knows how to make sure you are comfortable and cared for during a joyful time of pregnancy in a safe environment. Wait time was less than 8 minutes and even the waiting room was so cozy and calm. Im a first time mom and felt the love and celebration as we reviewed the ultrasound. The doctor explained everything so well to me and my partner and made sure to answer all questions and concerns we had. Im excited to have my journey shared with such an awesome team.

Twisted Adventures I already had my medical insurance in file with Montage since I have been going to them for physical therapy for years now. Well, the front desk decided to NOT tell they accept my insurance until 6 hours later! When I first made the appointment, she said "bring your insurance card" and when I had it to her, she immediately said "oh thats on file already but we dont accept that here." Like if you only accept certain insurance companies, maybe you should ASK when someone calls about getting in the same day! If youre on Medi-Cal/Medicaid, just go to the Emergency Room. Youre in better hands there anyway.

Weisz Gellért I had a great experience at this urgent care. After another clinic misdiagnosed me, the doctor here took my symptoms seriously, conducted a thorough examination, and quickly diagnosed my pneumonia. They performed an X-ray and other necessary tests without any extra charges, which was a huge relief. The staff was professional, compassionate, and efficient. I highly recommend this place for anyone in need of reliable medical care.

The most professional place I’ve seen so far in US. Hope not to come back, but if you need help definitely come here.

LA R Despite what it says on their website, they do not require Covid testing prior to surgery. Their website is extremely misleading, incorrect and will put you into an unsafe environment. Canceled my surgery at this facility. Chomp, as well as most other surgery centers in our highly traveled Monterey area, do protect their patients during the highest Covid risk time of year - they care enough to keep you safe. Testing is still in place at these respectable locations. Stay safe and Happy Holidays. Update ....got into several wait list doctors this week due to Covid cases canceling after Thanksgiving and these people are cutting costs in lieu of patients lives??? How much is a life worth to you? More than a $10 Covid test??? Apparently not much to these people. Get a clue....why do all reputable medical professions require masks? Unbelievable.

Nancy Larkin Finding primary care on the Monterey Peninsula is challenging. Seems like all the doctors have gone concierge. That makes it difficult for healthy individuals to get primary care without the high cost of a concierge doctor. Anytime I had a need for urgent care in the past I went to Doctors On Duty. I’d always received excellent care. Last year I turned to Doctors On Duty for my primary care and the service and care have all been top notch.

Crissa Stapleton I’ve been going to Doctors on duty for my physical health now for years. I have had very good experiences with all of the providers that have taken care of me. Doctor Satyanarayans is an exceptionally good doctor. He has been very kind to me and has made my visits at Doctors on duty something I’ve looked forward to. He is very professional and always knows just the newest and best medicines to give. In my case, I’ve been trying to get my weight under control for years and just like that, he put me on one of the weight loss medications that have been helping so many people. Starting out slow, to make sure I had no bad side effects and building the dose up to the right level so I was able to get my weight down to a healthy level while bringing down my blood pressure and cholesterol at the same time. I feel great! Thank you Doctor Satyanarayana

Tomi Lynn Wilson-Keiser This place has the rudest and most unprofessional support staff I have ever dealt with in 38 years of healthcare. The billing office girl flat out lied to me on the phone. When I called out her lies, she tried to backtrack and change her story each time. I will never come back here, and will never allow any family members to go there. I dont know how they keep their jobs. I will be filing a complaint with their management, and with our doctors office. Id rather pay the extra and have surgery at CHOMP.

Jonathan Reed Staff was great. Nicole was a funny and nice nurse, then I was transferred to Phillip and Diane for an epidural with Dr Wong. The OR staff was kind and walked through everything with me. Totally satisfied.

Linda Ham A nurse took control after seeing my rash from a fungal infection. She decided to go above the doctor and went to the director of the facility, Anna, to get clarification. Unfortunately, I was unable to be treated. But, seeing my rash was worsening, I contacted an allergy doctor and am getting treatment through oral method. I will return after the infection has cleared up.

Allison M. The receptionists and nurses are always super sweet and friendly here. The doctors are professional and attentive. My baby has never had a bad experience! I actually think he likes going to the doctors because of how great this facility and the staff are
5 /5
Mila Ive been taking my two toddlers to the Stanford clinic for two years, and I cannot recommend it. On multiple occasions, Ive waited over an hour for their pre-scheduled appointments (both in-person and virtual) without any updates about delays. Some nurses are unprofessional and dismissive, failing to meet basic customer service standards. When Ive complained, the staff have consistently blamed either the doctor or understaffing. While the doctors themselves are polite and helpful, and I have no complaints about the reception staff, my overall experience has been very disappointing. I need to find a more professional and organized clinic. Despite their stated commitment to excellent care, the clinic falls far short of acceptable standards.
2 /5
KDG We’ve been taking our toddler year old here the last three years and have received nothing but top notch care. Everyone is so respectful, kind, and patient. iIf all children are as difficult to check as my son, I can only imagine their frustration. ENDLESS PATIENCE. And everyone we’ve dealt with has been very good with our son. It has a nice atmosphere with a big fish tank. There are separate waiting areas for healthy and sick children.
5 /5
Francesca Gnecco I had a fair (but limited) experience with the reception staff, nurses and doctors during a couple of yearly health check ups for my - lucky healthy - kids. However, their bills on virtual visits are criminal. They charge over $300 for a 5 minutes virtual visit to assess a pink eye and prescribe the medication needed by the kids to go back to school. CHOMP charges $25 for the same service and tele health. Perhaps the state healthcare affordability board needs to keep a closer look...

RC Great for general routine visits. For non-routine visits, Dr. staff minimize and dismiss any mild child conditions or concerns with natural recovery methods. **WILL SEND YOU TO DEBT COLLECTIONS** With little to short notice, even for just a small co-pay. Staff have a bad habit of dismissing co-pays “as they can be collected on the next visit,” however if the next visit isn’t soon then debt collection through PFS Group will be in your mailbox soon. I would suggest looking for a better pediatric care and service.

Lynne Killian Dr. Markusen is a very experienced professional with all the qualities that women of any age could hope for in their physician. I have found her to be knowledgeable in her field, thorough, intuitive, kind and supportive. I have been in her care and have trusted her since she opened her practice in Monterey.
5 /5
Elizabeth Walsh I have been a patient at this clinic for many years. Dr. Markusen is an excellent doctor as was her predecessor Dr. Janko. Over the past months I have had huge difficulties with the billing office, whoever they are. The level of communication regarding my account has not been satisfactory. The Montage site is very difficult to negotiate so getting the information I needed in order to pay my account balance has not been easy. The only way to get in touch is by phone. Hopefully I have a resolution to my dilemma and my account has been properly credited.

K We moved to CA when my wife was 8-months pregnant, so we had little time to find a good OB GYN. Dr. Markusen was the only one we could get in with in that time frame. Overall, the experience was not very good... especially with her staff, who reminded us more of uncaring, lazy, low-level career bureaucrats, than medical staff in a respectable private practice. We had constant problems with scheduling and overall poor attitudes. Fortunately, the labor was uneventful, so I cannot attest to how the doctor would do under real stress and complications. However, in the pregnancy with our second child a year later, my wife had some very heavy bleeding after miscarrying a few months earlier. We could not get Dr. Markusen to see her in a timely manner and had to go to the ER for care after 3-days of trying to get in... likely due to her staff not giving a single c--p about patients. After that experience, we found another OB. I gave her 3-stars for getting us in when we arrived and for delivering a healthy baby, but it was all down hill from there.
3 /5
Alexandra Tav Dr Markusen is a good doctor, however, Im giving her office two stars due to lack of professionalism that I have encountered. I scheduled my general physical exam more than 12 months ago. When I showed up 20 minutes before my appointment (as they advise), I was told that shes 45 minutes behind. I was very disappointed - my schedule is very busy, I work on average 50 hours per week and I have a small baby, so my time is very limited. The only time I could see her is on my lunch break (which when I had my appointment). Nevertheless, I waited 45 minutes, only to be told that she has another person in front of me. When I asked to reschedule the appointment, I was told that she is fully booked for the next three months! I find such conduct unacceptable in a professional world. Her staff (who seemed could not care less of the customers needs) could have called and asked if I could come an hour later (I could take a lunch break an hour later), but decided that patients can wait no matter how long (for they are the only ones working). So, I have to wait another three months to see her for a once-a-year check up. I honestly do not believe this is happening in this day and age.

Liz Hagn I love Dr Markusen! She is gentle, kind and very thorough on her exams. Explains things clearly! She always makes me feel so at ease and comfortable! Shes the best!

Texnia Stewart My husband was a recent patient at ER. The quality of nursing care has slipped since our last visit. Multiple times he had to ask for assistance to go to the bathroom. No one ever came so I helped him get out of bed & we headed to the bathroom. He had a bit of diarrhea & absolutely could not wait any longer. We asked multiple times in ER & on the floor to get a Fall Risk wrist band for him. He wasnt even asked if hed any falls when we came in. Hes unsteady on his feet & uses a cane. This wasnt documented. His prescription meds were messed up even tho both a hospitalist & a pharmacy tech reviewed info with us. To make it more aggravating, he takes several OTC meds & the CHOMP charges for them is outrageously expensive for them to i.e., $$$ vs pennies to have them. & when they dont have a certain med, they expect you to turn your supply over to them so they can charge you for dispensing. It would be much better to keep personal meds in a patient room & give them the correct dose at the CORRECT time, etc. The other major problem we had in the ER was the poor infection control practiced by 1 of the RNs. She would put on gloves then go about opening drawers, moving equipment, then picking up supplies tha were supposed to be handled in a sterile manner. She was just sloppy & who knows what germs, bacteria, viruses, etc she was transmitting between her patients & to my husband. Well think twice before coming back to this hospital. It was very disappointing to see how CHOMP quality of care has gone downhill. Edit: Im debating whether to change this from 2⭐ to 1. Hubby now admitted to hospital. Nursing is trying to give him his meds but cant because the HOSPITAL PHARMACY is OUT OF STOCK OF the HEART MEDS he takes. So — am I supposed to go home & bring in our personal Rx meds & hand it over to this incompetent pharmacy so they can give OUR meds to my husband, & probably charge us for our own meds weve paid for at our local pharmacy? There is absolutely no excuse for a hospital pharmacy to run out of a common heart medication many people take! Just how bad has this hospital become. Its becoming a safety hazard for patients & the community.

Sabina Damaschin Disclaimer: Ive only been to a hospital a handful of times, so my experience it limited to 3 hospitals. I had a very smooth delivery at CHOMP in February 2024. The staff and nurses were extremely caring and patient. The room was clean and large. My husband slept on a sofa bed. Food was pretty good, and I could control the room temperature, which was nice. The baby never left my side, everything was done in the room except the hearing test. I asked to be discharged a day early, and they were able to accommodate me. They also provided my family with a gift/ congratulations bag... their was a stuffed animal, onesie, gift card to a restaurant and blanket among under things. Also, in April 2024, I brought my sick 3 month old into the ER and was admitted immediately. I likely saw the doctor within 15 minutes of walking in. Staff and nurses were very efficient with their procedures and time. Picture is of the ER. Overall, it was an excellent hospital... they went above and beyond my expectations.

Ben Tanner The care I received while I was hospitalized last month was fine, for the most part. The highlight during my stay was the nursing staff. Most of them were very caring and professional. The doctors always interacted with me like they were in a hurry and didnt have time for me, and were often dismissive. I was discharged before they did their due diligence to make sure theyd done all they could to provide answers and get clarification about my health. Hence, I wound up in the hospital again a week later. Follow up: I went to CHOMPs E.R. to deal with concerning symptoms after my above-mentioned hospitalization there. The E.R. doctor was insistent that all she could do was give me pain meds and send me home. Later that same day, I went up to Stanford Medical and they admitted me for a serious condition that CHOMP could have easily discovered, had the E.R. doctor not been so dismissive and lazy. The care I got at Stanford was light years ahead of what CHOMP had to offer. I never once felt rushed by the doctors at Stanford. They were extremely thorough, professional, and took my concerns and questions seriously. My advice is to avoid CHOMP and get quality care elsewhere.

Lyn M Not too sure what’s been happening to the quality but I have never in my life felt so neglected at this hospital. I never had an issues overall but two nights ago I went I since I could not breathe at all and my entire body was in pain. I am a woman of color who overall can tolerate pain and hence it can be counterproductive if just wait and leave my body to fix itself like I have in the past. I have learned that in body types like me it’s best to go to the ER immediately. Once I had an abdominal pain and the doctor at CHOMP was about to release me until he decided to to an ultrasound and found out I was actually hemorrhaging from an ovarian cysts as one out of many examples that as a woman of color when I’m in pain even if my blood pressure is normal by the time I admit something is wrong I just know and I also know the medicine field still has not enligh knowledge on body types like mine. Now, I went in two nights ago, it was so hard to speak I wish I could have written down what was wrong instead of yelling at the receptionist since she said she couldn’t hear me no kidding I couldn’t breathe let alone speak. They took me to the back the guy asked me what was wrong since the receptionist did not tell him what was going on I was so delirious everything was making me laugh at the point I’m not sure if this was my body’s self defense mechanism but he looked annoyed even though I apologized and explained I could not breathe I sat in that room for a while literally unable to breathe some white nurse came in and she was not nice she looked real annoyed for some reason she listened to my lungs once and said she couldn’t hear properly because I was talking well yes I was answering her questions she could have checked my lungs again I was wheezing (I still am today and everything hurts still) she left had someone else do Covid RSV and flu test. I have a flu. But it was so hard to breathe I was only given a Motrin which helped a little they did ask if I wanted a pill to minimize the flu symptoms but it could cause me diarrhea I said no because I’m already sensitive I can’t even take Tylenol. I’m unsure what else could have been done about my breathing. I just know none of the staff that night was nice except Robert in XRay and nurse Lauren. I am so embarrassed because I did not mean to act delirious I have never felt this way when I am sick. I also asked the receptionist in that department about working and I couldn’t speak right and she looked very annoyed to explain I can leave my car in the empty parking slots, move it from the red zone to the empty slots. I am already independent I know but my I was so embarrassed at their treatments I preferred to run out of there if I could, I didn’t have my glasses so I also couldn’t see and I asked another technician or person with those rolling computers where the exit was, imagine feeling out of it already and you’re blind no one asked to accompany me outside, all she said there and they’re going to have to open the doors for you. I was happy to know what was wrong but wow at the same time I just wanted to run away from that social treatment Im always so polite and they treated me like I was being disrespectful when I was not. Also updating the one nurse who supposedly listened to my lungs— I asked her if she could give me a note until Friday (I know my body better and I know when I am like this it’s severe where I need enough rest) she gave me the note until Thursday. Not nice. If I end up in the ER a type of body like mine needs adequate rest and medical attention especially I rarely get sick like this and I take care of myself I do not drink or smoke or overall eat things harmful to my genetic type. Now I can’t breathe I am hoping to feel better tomorrow I really needed to go to the doctor I could not breathe but I also did not have the strength to drive myself to the nearest urgent care and I also do not have absolutely anyone to drive me. I just know all of the quality care in the area has gone down since montage bought it all.

Karina Fernandez Ive seen Dr. Mohandas, along with my two boys, for the last 2 years as our Primary Care Manager. I usually see her for my thyroid check-ups and my medical weight loss program with her, as well as any appts for when were feeling under the weather and shes always been very helpful and to the point, which is what we prefer, but has good bedside manners, too. Weve seen her and her other staff when shes not available and they are all fine to work with. In the past, there was sometimes a bit of a wait to see her, but nowadays, the office is running very punctual and you usually wait no more than 5 minutes before youre called in. The front desk staff is wonderful and professional and very helpful and able to answer questions immediately for the most part. I have used Dr. Mohandas both for her medical services at Monterey Medical Center as well as her aesthetics services through Venus Skin and Body Sculpting and have been very pleased using her.

Staci Magdaleno I called the office earlier today. I spoke with the receptionist on the medical side. I had waited longer than normal and needed a refill of my prescription. I was told I needed to see the doctor first. I figured as much but my fault u waited so long! I asked if I could speak with a PA or have the doctor asked if there was something over the counter I could take as I was unable to come in. I was told no! The doctor would not call me back ever. The doctor doesn’t call people back and I asked if she really had just spoken to me like that and her answer was yes. I have never, ever been treated so rudely and my entire family will never come to this office again. Not only was she rude and unprofessional, she was downright combative. In the end, she claimed the only one I could speak to was her and she would be the only one to call me back! It’s really a shame because I love the doctor and the PA!

Johnnie M Ill be honest, I was a bit hesitant after reading those online reviews. But let me tell you, my visit to Montage Healthcare was a total game-changer! Yeah, I had to wait a few months to see the doc, but it was totally worth it. They have this cool system where you can snag an appointment the following week through the app or by phone, which I thought was pretty sweet. Dr. Stephen Owens was a total rockstar. He knows his stuff, answered all my questions without making me feel like a dummy, and was just a really chill guy. If youre looking for a doctor whos actually human, hes your guy. The clinic itself was clean and tidy. I waited about 15 minutes after checking in, which isnt too bad considering. So, dont let those online reviews scare you off. My experience at Montage Healthcare was awesome, and I think youll feel the same way.

David Riker "I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Aggarwal during my annual checkup. She was thorough, attentive, and took the time to listen to my concerns without making me feel rushed. Dr. Aggarwals professionalism and kindness made the visit comfortable and reassuring. The office staff was also friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Aggarwal to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring primary care physician!"

Maya Disappointing and discriminatory experience with Montage Medical Group. During my appointment with the PA (Chau Nguyen), I presented thorough documentation, including an MRI and medical records, detailing my symptoms and limitations. However, the PA: - Downplayed my condition despite clear medical evidence - Disregarded my concerns and ignored my medical records - Suggested I take a bus, implying my condition wasnt serious given I had back surgery. - Failed to acknowledge the need for surgery, contradicting previous assurances This is not an isolated incident; Ive experienced denial of treatment and underestimation of my condition by this PA before. Ive attached supporting medical notes from MS&J. I believe I was discriminated against due to my medical disability and withheld necessary treatment, violating California law. Specifically, I allege discrimination based on disability (CA Health & Safety Code § 125725, CA Government Code § 11135, and federal ADA) and unprofessional conduct (CA Business & Professions Code § 2234). Seeking medical care should never involve discrimination. I hope Montage Medical Group takes steps to address these issues and ensure patients receive respectful, comprehensive care. Escalated issue to management. At this time, it’s been a month without some form of accountability, restoration , and conflict resolution.

Lauren Bolobov Called to ask about bringing my daughter in who was having stomach pain and diarrhea. The girl on the phone said that because she had diarrhea she couldn’t be seen in person since it’s a symptom of covid, which I understand, but she only has diarrhea and no other symptoms and the diarrhea had been ongoing for a couple days, still no other symptoms so I was thinking stomach bug or food poisoning. After I asked if she was serious about not being able to see a toddler for only stomach pain and no other covid symptoms, she hung up on me. I called back, spoke to someone else who unfortunately just transferred me back to the same person I was talking to before. She was even more rude talking to her the second time and wouldn’t admit to hanging up on me, but ok. She suggested we do a virtual appointment and since I was really desperate to be seen I agreed. Idk how a virtual appointment was going to be useful, but like I said I was desperate. Then she said “oh we actually don’t have any virtual appointments left today”. *facepalm* I said thanks but this is urgent and I would need to call someone else, hung up. Called Mogo 30 seconds later and they IMMEDIATELY and compassionately invited us to come in and get my daughter seen in person. If you want cold, unfeeling, bratty staff to talk to about your child’s urgently needed appointment, go here. Mogo took care of us and were super understanding about the whole thing. They were happy to see us in person and way more professional and kind.
