Lily Jian Dr. Christine Huo is one of the best doctors you can find. I am so fortunate to have Dr. Huo as my primary physician for decades. She has all the qualities you would expect from an excellent doctor: caring, concerned, warm, knowledgeable, competent, and detailed oriented. She will always answer your questions even over the weekend! She gives you the best advice and I am very confident that I am in very capable hands.

Grace Libabian I’ve been Dr. Huo’s patient for two decades. She’s the gentlest and most professional doctor I’ve seen. She’s a thoughtful, good listener with great empathy. She doesn’t force any medicine on her patients unless they feel comfortable with it. I really like my doctor Christine Huo who always provide good advice and lots of additional information to help me become healthier.

Carolyn Glenn Dr Huo has been the Primary Care MD for my entire family since 2016. She listens carefully and considers our concerns when determining a care plan. She researches and gets support from her PAMF specialists to be sure we get the best care. She is prompt in responding to questions and it’s pretty easy to get video visits. In office visits may take time to get on the schedule but in a real urgent situation she seems to find time to squeeze us in. I’d never consider another doctor, in fact we now travel 5 hours from our new home to see her.

Carmen Santana Dr. Huo is an exceptional professional who truly cares about patients’ well-being. Her expertise, compassion, and dedication make every visit a positive experience. I have been going to her for years and very satisfied with her communication and caring demeanor. Highly recommend!

Casey Lloyd Unfortunately, my primary was so good at his job he got placed as head of his department. This means I can’t really book an appointment with any kind of timing with Dr. Kevin Chen, who was a perfect primary by the way. Fortunately, I got to be assigned to Dr. Yvonne Chow, who is also excellent. She is personable, knowledgeable, listens, effectively and, is intuitive. If she’ll take you as a patient, do not think twice just make the appointment.

Sh Ng I recently had an excellent experience at Waverley Surgery Center. Dr. Mein was not only highly professional but also incredibly caring, taking the time to address all my concerns. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the entire process smooth and comfortable. The facility itself was clean and well-organized, which added to my confidence in their services. Jerry Takasugi Morning of the surgery went very well, from once I walked into the front desk was greeted with a smile and got me ready with the paper work. The nurses were great as this is my second time here at the center and had same experience with all involved. Explanations were clear and they kept me comfortable until I was greeted with the surgery nurse and Anesthesiologist. The Anesthesiologist made clear of what he was going to do and ask if any questions. Very nice as well as the nurses. My Dr. came in to check on me before the procedure that all is well. After surgery the nurse explained what I was feeling and will have me ready for pickup until I felt better. Instructions were given to me of what to do and not to do for the next two to three days until I meet with my Dr. at my scheduled post op appointment. Very happy with all the staff at Waverley. Thank you to the staff and to my Doctor. Dr. Gorenson was my orthopedic surgeon.

YU LI Had a no medication colonoscopy procedure end of Jan. Great staff, everyone is very friendly. I had good experience there. One suggestion: it would be better to have slightly thicker, warmer sheet to cover patient during the process.

First, his front office is extremely nice and helpful, going above and beyond to fit me into his already busy schedule as a new patient. David E. Weekly Dr. Kao is friendly and professional. This is a good place to go for a colonoscopy, which is not a *fun* thing but an important thing. Scheduling and prep was unpleasant but very clear and well communicated. My only gripe was that the prep nurse (who was cheerful and professional) honestly did a lousy job with the IV prep. Two days later I still have bruises on my arm from the failed insertions. Extremely painful! She was complementing me on my vein structure as she "fished around". Yikes. Overall would definitely recommend this place for an otherwise unpleasant procedure as they are very professional and well-run. The doctor is great.

Scott Blanton I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Roger Kao and his incredible team! From the moment I arrived for my procedure, I felt like I was in the best hands. Dr. Kao and his staff were not only professional but also incredibly warm, caring, and empathetic. Hes a doctor who really knows how to get to the bottom of things (no, that wont be the last pun...unfortunately). I was initially nervous about having my procedure done without anesthesia, but the team immediately put me at ease. They explained everything thoroughly and made sure I felt calm and relaxed throughout the process. To my surprise, the procedure wasn’t bad at all! Seriously, on a pain scale (1-10) it never got more than a 2--and that was only for about a second. I know pain tolerance is subjective, but I had NO pain during this procedure (Pain is in the brain!). Dr. Kao and his team’s calming presence and genuine concern for my comfort made all the difference. I feel bad because I forgot the name of the lovely lady who was talking in my ear and calming me, literally the entire time, while Dr. Kao was....getting to know me. The whole team kept me calm and even made me laugh during the procedure--Who knew a colonoscopy could be this much fun?! Dr. Kao and his team are not just skilled, theyre also incredibly compassionate. He and his team never made me feel like just another patient; they treated me like a person and I genuinely felt cared for. So, if youre looking for a gastroenterologist who will handle your care with dignity, professionalism, and maybe even a little humor, I cant recommend Dr. Kao enough.

Robin Knight If I could give Dr Madej a thousand stars I would. He is the BEST Doctor, and one of the most competent and caring people I have ever met. If you want to go back to the days when your doctor looked at you as a person, and treated you like a human being instead of an insurance commodity, then youve found that man in him. He even answers his own phone. I find it especially amusing when I get the line from the pharmacist saying "We havent been able reach your doctor all day" because I know hes always prompt. I look at them and, say "Really" Then I call him directly and when he answers, I ask if theyd like to talk to him. Dr Madej has always stood beside me gone above to help me in any crisis Ive encountered. I did sign up for his concierge service and its well worth it. Just the one time alone when I was in Wash DC on a Friday night and wasnt sure if I needed to go to the ER or not convinced me it was the best service option ever. I didnt end up having to spend all night in the ER waiting room because he was able to evaluate me online and advise me on what I needed to do. When I did need a ER once, DR Madej was standing at the door waiting. For a UTI, Ive never had to wait it out until I could get in to see a doctor while I suffered. There have been countless time Dr Madej has been there and although I could go on and on...just call him and find out for yourself. Id be scared hell get too busy after everyone finds out how great he is, but hes got his next generation in Med school, so they can pitch in and carry the legacy!

He kindly helped me even though he couldnt take any appointments at that moment because it was right before his vacation time. Magdalena Kruczkowska Dr. Akazawa is arrogant, dismissive and questions medical care and recommendations my precious doctors provided over the years. This doctor was assigned as my PCP after previous MD left Sutter in March of 2024. That same month I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As I was facing new diagnosis I wanted to see my new PCP for guidance and information. Dr. Akazawa refused to see me for months. In July, after my thyroidectomy I was experiencing some complications, needed to be seen in ER. As recommended I tried to see my PCP, again Dr. Akazawa did not see a need to meet her new patient. Luckily my medical needs were addressed by the Physician Assistant working with the doctor. Eventually I met with Dr. Akazawa face to face in November of 2024 and I knew right away that I need to find a new PCP. Dr. Akazawa wants to be in control, she is not interested in listening to patient, did not want to address more that one specific problem. As we get older medical problems become complex. This MD told me that we are going to address "one problem at the time". This would be a waste of my time, finances, and simply neglectful. That response was arrogant, insincere, and just inappropriate. I can not see how this doctor can possibly take care of me or any other patients having the attitude she currently has. I want to change my PCP but with the MD shortage I am stack with Dr. Akazawa for now. Sutter patient relations, please contact me regarding this matter.

Also Top Notch is the PAMF facility here in san Carlos. It is a gorgeous building and so convenient for my family as we live right here in San carlos about 2 miles away.

My understanding is that they have been understaffed for a long time, but when it begins to severely affect patients, it’s time to look for a new place! GL BRIII Not sure if this is the normal charge, almost feel like scammed. I came for some anti-biotic to treat my seasonal sinusitis. They told me I must take covid and flu test. Who would expect one swab of your nostril costs $475? Also, I did not see a MD there, only nurse practitioner, but total bill still went to around $900. Be careful of anything they ask you if you do not have a great insurance.

Nandini Rajan I visited on the 15th of Feb. 1. An elderly patient at the counter was informed that he could only discuss one issue at urgent care because they did not have all day to address all the concerns a patient has. The patient had two issues that were bothering him. 2. I went in for a suspected UTI. On pulling my chart the doctor informed me that I had high cholesterol and should have had a chat with my PCP. But in the meantime I should really take care! Apparently my cholesterol has been in dangerous territory since 2023. Since he could only talk to me about my UTI and not my cholesterol “issue” I should follow up with my PCP who by the way is booked one month out and has not brought up the subject until last month. Since we all have to have a blood test only after the annual doctor’s visit, I received a generic email from my doctors office informing me that I should avoid butter shrimp and coconut and not eat processed food because of my high cholesterol. None of this applies to me anyway and I have been going to my PCP for ten years!! Imagine going to a car mechanic and him saying your engine is not working so take care when you drive. Then this urgent care doctor says well you had very limited blood work in January 2025 so I cannot see your hemoglobin levels etc. it’s probably because you had previous blood work done 8 months ago as insurance only covers every 12 months - so I cannot definitely say why you might be tired. He ended with saying “Don’t shoot me”!! I am a very privileged person with insurance from one of the top companies in the bay area and I am finding it hard to be treated like a human being.

houses Called the previous day to ensure my insurance was accepted. Yes she confirmed it was accepted. Arrived today after taking my son out of school and missing an exam only to arrive and hear that my insurance is not accepted.

Isabell Slater I have been to this clinic twice and both times my experience was very bad. The first time they thought I had the measles gave me a shot of steroids and sent me on my way. This didn’t feel right, so I got a second opinion and I didn’t have the Measles, I had an upper respiratory infection. Back today as I had a really bad cough and mucus, and they essentially did the exact same thing. I had to ask what was wrong with me. I don’t think Emily the receptionist Knows what she’s doing as I was checking out they were telling me there was a problem with my health insurance, but refused to provide me what was wrong Until I asked them to figure it out. Unless you want to pay $500 for a steroids I would recommend you go somewhere else.

When I arrive here all the attention was very slow (i was the only one in the reception), the secretary didn’t be kind or interesting in helping me. She told me that they didnt have any ultrasound there and she gave to me wrong information about where to go. May be she is good like a secretary in some other place but not in an urgent care.

Bill Chestnut Located in the basement of the building, it is outdated and lacks privacy - I could hear all the staff talking loudly while I was in pre-op and post-op. The rooms are separated only by a curtain. I could hear all the details of the woman next to me as they discussed her condition. The "new" gurney I was on was defective and they kept banging on it trying to get the sides to stay up, while I was in the bed with an IV in my arm. Because I was the last patient on a Friday, I was rushed to get my clothes on and they did not allow my wife and I to have privacy while I dressed. Im appalled.

Jodi Marks This is awful medical insurance if you have to deal with mental health. I need a psychiatrist for dealing with medication management for trauma & anxiety. They have only one psychiatrist for their clients so you are stuck having to see a psychiatry nurse practitioner instead. The one I seen only tries to push medication onto you that you do not need. Also in regards to therapy, my 10 year old needs to start therapy. We found a awesome therapist who specializes in Childred and who accepts medi-cal. We cannot see her because she isnt Health Plan of San Mateo. Then the mental health number gives me referrals for places like community centers and bottom bucket therapy. But none that specialize in only children which is what my daughter needs. I am trying to break the cycle of Trauma for my daughter. If I send her to a terrible therapist then she will never want to go back to therapy. Lastly, I have been searching for a dentist for my daughter most of the referrals I have gotten are not even taking new patients. My daughter needs to see a specialist for a infected tooth. I ran into problems because she was a child with a adult tooth. the pediatric dentists would not help us and the adult dentists wont take children under 12. It took me almost 2 years to finally find someone, and this is after calling HPSM numerous times about it. Because it took so long to find a dentist the right molar along with another back molar on the left side needs to be extracted. Because of this and the fact that my 10 year olds teeth are already shifting she needs braces immediately. I spoke to HPSM earlier today and was informed that I will have to pay out of pocket for her braces. Just because most of us on here are poor doesnt mean that our children sqhould have to suffer by receiving awful care 95% of the time. I would love to not have to depend on HPSM at all at this point but unfortuantely I have no other choice. No human should ever be treated this way, its disgusting...

tt Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM) does not cover expenses by an out-of-network provider. This is kind of unusual from my experiences with other health insurance providers. My denture broke as a result of bad materials from a former dentist and I had a hard time to chew food. So I got services from another dentist who recommended getting a new denture as fixing the old one already having a few teeth added on it would not last long and ended up with higher costs. I was not able to find extra help from Medicare and Medi-Cal, and had to pay for the denture out of my own pocket. Then I submitted a claim to HPSM trying to get a reimbursement. Claim denied, reasons: 1) Issue not an emergency nor urgent. 2) Out-of-network provider services not covered. They referred me to send a grievance to HPSM, Civil Right Coordinator, 801 Gateway Blvd, Ste 100, So San Francisco, CA 94080. I did. Denied. Then they referred me to send an appeal to California Dept of Social Services, State Hearing Division, P.O.Box 944243, Mail Station 9-17-37, Sacramento, CA 94244-2430. I did. I received a schedule for a call from a judge for the hearing. On that day, I waited more than 1 hour for the judge to call. No call. Later on, my case was dismissed, reason: No appearance. WHAT? Judge Name: Margaret A. Boyd. I would have rated HPSM a ZERO star if the system lets me post.

Seanna Soto Unprofessional, inadequate care. Since starting with this clinic they have changed my care provider numerous times without consulting me. The current provider Fariba Mason has denied prescriptions and does not care for patients as she should. Worst communication, and they do not even bother to fight for medically necessary medication. Also they try to double bill the insurance.

Vivian Malossi This Mountain View clinic, unfortunately the customer service and appointments are horrible! Today I had an appointment and unfortunately I was 4 minutes late from my schedule and they didnt want to see me, and they left me waiting 45 minutes to say that they couldnt see me and it was an emergency appointment, because Im pregnant and I had vaginal bleeding, and I I had to go to the doctors appointment. But they didnt want to answer me and rescheduled me almost a month later. Ive never seen that in my life! Horrible customer service, they dont care about your situation and dont care about anything. Sad reality and I do not recommend this clinic.

Marisol Gomez I went with my daughter to get some papers signed by her doctor and the rude front desk lady told us in a rude and very mean way that it takes over 5 to 7 days to get a damn paper signed! she has a bad case of asthma and the front desk lady was not listening to us, I do not like this clinic and my daughters doctor is very nice but the front staff are very disgusting and have attitude.

Suneel Kaw Went in for new patient registration for my parents. The experience was smooth. The staff was professional. Renee C helped us, and she is amazing. She answered all our questions; she could register both my parents, she is polite, courteous, and the whole process took less than 15 minutes. Overall experience was better than any other private medical institution in Bay Area. Thank you Mayview Community Health Center.

House of Muscle USA I got blood work done two days ago and every time I go in I get anxiety and almost pass out. When I went in this time the lady doing my blood work kept talking to me and made me feel very comfortable. Also the wait time to get in was less then 15 min. It was a great experience and this place has great workers.

Maria Zhalnina I have been charged for the procedure not performed, that was not covered by my insurance, and now I am expected to pay in full for the procedure that did not happen! I submitted the claim to the billing department to review, it was rejected. In the mean time, my health problem still bothers me, but now I am hesitant to go a doctor again. (I rarely write negative reviews, but this situation is outrageous). UPDATE: Now when I have read other reviews I saw a warning about the same Dr Lee overcharging other patients, from the two years ago! Apparently, it is a pattern, and the clinic is doing nothing about it!

Ray Whenever I go here sth is lacking. The phone conversation for appointment scheduling is usually friendly. But, when you go there, often Dr.’s are uptight and hard to communicate or front desk is rude. Take it easy people, there are more important/critical fields.

Isabella Rocha Terrible Customer Service Despite Exceptional Doctors I had a truly horrendous experience with the customer service at this dermatologists office, which is disheartening considering the exceptional doctors and their remarkable track record. Despite the doctors expertise and impressive results, the scheduling process and overall customer service have been abysmal. Today, I interacted with Jasmine, a representative from the customer service team, and her lack of empathy and unhelpful attitude made me question ever returning to this facility. The constant hurdles, delays, and lack of responsiveness have overshadowed the brilliance of the doctors. Its with a heavy heart that I write this review. While the doctors are exceptional, I strongly advise against becoming a patient here due to the distressing customer service experience. Save yourself the frustration and seek alternative options where the doctors exceptional skills are matched by competent and compassionate customer service. In summary, the customer service at this dermatologists office was terrible, despite the exceptional doctors. I will not be returning as a patient in the future.

Natasha Bennett They have been nice people, but today they wouldnt see me cause I apparently didnt submit paperwork, but I had just a few minutes prior. After explaining that, they told me theyd see me after I filled the paperwork from a new link, and never sent me any link. Then they told me "sorry the dr. has moved on". What the hell?

Blum Ardan Michael First rate! Elaine Mina who is the Clinical Manager at the Dermatology department of the PAMF in Palo Alto is outstanding as are Dr. Jubin Ryu and Dr. Roger Lee.
