Rob M In December 2024, an unsettling turn of events unfolded when my mom suffered a heart attack at home, leading to her admission into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kindred Care Hospital. This unexpected crisis transformed what is typically a joyous holiday season into a time fraught with anxiety and uncertainty about her health. Upon our arrival, the nursing staff in the ICU greeted us with a unique blend of professionalism and heartfelt compassion. Their warm demeanor instantly alleviated some of my fears. Every day, as I stepped into her room, their bright smiles and reassuring updates on her condition painted a vivid picture of hope amidst the storm of worry. The skilled nurses and doctors demonstrated a deep understanding of my mom’s health needs, which was evident in their meticulous attention to detail.
After a week and a half in the ICU, my mom made the transition to the rehabilitation unit at Kindred Care. In this new environment, a dedicated and multi-disciplinary team went above and beyond to help her relearn basic movements that we often take for granted, like sitting up and reaching for objects. Their patient, methodical approach to helping her recover her fine motor skills and rebuild her physical strength was nothing short of inspiring. Each day unfolded like a chapter in a story of resilience, and the constant encouragement from the staff became a source of motivation for her, fostering a bond of trust that blossomed into genuine hope.
As my mom progressed, she began to anticipate her rehabilitation sessions with excitement. Each visit from her caregivers was met with enthusiasm, their cheerful greetings akin to warm rays of sunshine breaking through a cloudy sky. The kind words and supportive encouragement she received during those sessions became precious treasures, infusing her journey to recovery with positivity and renewed strength.
At the end of each day, as I prepared to leave the hospital, I felt a profound sense of ease knowing that my mom was in the capable and caring hands of professionals who regarded her not merely as a patient but as a person deserving of the highest level of care and attention. While the experience of having a loved one in rehabilitation is never straightforward, the staff’s gentle demeanor, coupled with their insightful updates on my mom’s progress, provided invaluable relief for my heart and mind.
With unwavering confidence, I wholeheartedly recommend Kindred Care Hospital to anyone seeking compassionate, high-quality medical care for their loved ones. Their steadfast commitment to healing and their genuine concern for patients shine brightly, making them a beacon of hope during even the most challenging times.
I want to personally thank each staff member that assisted in my mom’s recovery.

Irma Kason My son has been a patient at Kindred Santa Ana for the last few weeks. The experience at this long term acute facility has exceeded my expectations. They truly care about my son and are giving him the best medical care possible. The doctors, nurses and administration are amazing! The facility is clean, patient advocacy is important, family meetings are encouraged, teamwork amongst staff, communication and follow up with family is a priority to Kindred. They understand that family is just as important in the recovery of the patient and appreciate and listen and respond to our concerns regarding our loved ones.
I will not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone who is in need of long term acute care.
