Melissa Archie Man. When I walked in I appreciated that they acknowledged me with enthusiasm. The ladies I worked with were very nice. An older woman did my gel manicure while another worked on my regular pedi. I could see the manicure wasnt going perfectly, the polish went over the cuticles, but I was short on time and hopeful it would get corrected. It did not. The pedicure clean up work was good and looked good at completion. 3 days later my gel was chipping. 1 week later I was able to peel what was left all the way off. Nothing fancy was required. Just my natural nails.

I told her so many times there werent straight, the acrilic was not placed evenly and they were supposed to be square but she didnt even asked me, this is a shame, you would thought that shes good because shes the one on charge but no, shes the worse one definitely not letting her do my nails again

Andrew Lee Got haircut here, I found the interior to be very comfortable, not to mention large, with several rooms inside as you go in. While the front area seems to mainly be a nail salon, there is a haircut section with couches and several seats for haircuts, there was also waxing and other services in other rooms. The person who cut my hair was above average, and not just considering the price. While the price is on the lower end in terms of bay area pricing, the quality of cut, evenness, minnimal stray missed hairs etc. is reflective of a haircut maybe about twice the price. So its a great value

I went with a design for my nails, they told me they could do it but in the end the lady couldnt do them after 4 attempts, so I asked her to do a simple design. They ended up charging me almost the same. If you dont know how to do a design, dont commit to doing it.

TaJa M I’ve been a loyal client at this salon for over two years, but after my most recent visit on New Year’s, I’ll never be returning. I came in specifically for a pedicure, but out of sheer greed, the staff coaxed me into getting a full set with a nail tech I’d never worked with before. Against my better judgment, I agreed—and it was a decision I deeply regret. The nails are absolutely atrocious. They’re lumpy, misshapen, and filed completely wrong. On top of that, they started lifting after just three days! It’s clear this nail tech had no business working on anyone’s nails, let alone mine. I can’t believe the salon thought it was acceptable to provide this kind of service. To make matters worse, when I voiced my concerns during the appointment, they completely brushed me off. I refuse to let them touch my hands again—not to fix, redo, or even remove this mess. The greed and disregard for quality or customer satisfaction are appalling. What was supposed to be a relaxing New Year’s appointment turned into a nightmare. If you care about your nails, your time, and your money, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This salon has lost a loyal client for good.

In addition to all the regular great features (excellent massage chairs, super lovely staff, very good quality manis and pedis), I got some excellent help with an ingrown toenail. These women know their stuff. Location is also so nice! Easy to get coffee lunch etc. and they accommodate friend groups really well. They have gotten me into the habit of having my nails and toes top notch.

Katniss Meowskewitz I typically don’t write negative reviews because who knows maybe someone is having a bad day, but this place was possibly the worse nail experience I’ve had. I came in to get my acrylics off and get a manicure. They left powder on my fingers and nails, they put on the polish coats uneven, the second lady working on me (the first left to work on someone else) just blatantly put nail polish over this big piece of lint that was very visible and didn’t attempt to fix it until I asked her too. There were multiple pieces of cuticle not fully taken off, just there like a hang nail (and they came from them cutting they weren’t there previously). When I pointed some out I was told “that’s powder not skin” as if that was ok. The powder should have been fully removed from my hands yes? When fixing something else she clearly left a large dent in the polish with her tool but once again didn’t move to fix it until I asked her to. I was told my nails were dry when they weren’t, and one of my nails *still* has a dent. By that point I just wanted to get out of there so I didn’t point it out. You can see there is nail polish on my actual finger, powder places, the paint isn’t even around the finger and the edges. And the massage lasted 22 seconds (I counted on the second hand). First time here because my usual place was busy. I won’t be back and I can’t recommend it.

Mary Vertulfo I’ve been going here for 6 months and it’s consistently been the best manicure I’ve had! I get acrylics and gel. I always call ahead and either schedule or just ask if they can take me right away. Great color selection. They take a while but are very meticulous and precise! My set will last 3+ weeks with standard wear and tear.

Space was super cute, App of the artists are super skilled, welcoming, and open to ideas. Prices are also super reasonable for the work that they do- especially the design work and being in the Bay Area. Would highly recommend and plan on coming back.

Katie, Tommy, and the woman who did my pedicure (I didn’t get her name!) were all so talented, patient, and kind. Each of them took their time doing their work and had such great attention to detail. These are the smoothest acrylics I’ve ever gotten! I’m excited to keep coming back!

I come here regularly for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, which cost me $42 + tip and I always leave happy. I prefer to go in on Friday or Sunday evenings because thats usually when they are not busy. Generally I am in and out in less than an hour.

Nicole M Sweet older couple own this spa. Very detailed and thorough. I come in for a fill and pedicure usually takes an hour and a half. Quality work, I can go 3 week without a fill and havent broken a nail. The salon is very clean and sanitary. Proper precautions are taken during our present pandemic. Highly recommend Royal Nail Spa for your beauty needs.

serica Very sloppy and messy, when he did my nails he cut me by accident and was very rough and rushed, the staff where really nice but the job not so much, an example is he didn’t finish filling my nails and now there is a glob of acrylic or the tip of my nail, it also did not look like reference photo at all. Good experience but I don’t recommend coming for acrylics.

Queen Kat Sloppy work! Nice people but they seemed inexperienced and clumsy. The nail color spilled over multiple times and they had a difficult time removing the spilled over polish. The job got done at the end but I’m not going back. And by the way, my manicure chipped the same day!

Jessee Ramirez These women are spectacular! They were so quick and did an amazing job. We have been waiting patiently for them to reopen. They treat you like family. Ive never had acrylics before but new I had to try the vampire nails. She did such a great job recreating them that Im definitely going to do them again. Best price on town for quality work. They did a great job on the wifes nails too. We always leave with a smile.

M W If you are looking to waste TWO HOURS to get your nails done (just a regular mani, not even a pedi mind you) this is your spot. We walked in at 5:20 pm and did not get done until 7:20 pm. We had to wait over 1.5 hours because they were “busy and behind”. Maybe learn some decency and basic customer service and let your patrons know it won’t be a “5 minute wait” and instead a 1.5 hour wait? What is most vexing is that they started on our nails then switched to people who came after us, telling us it’ll only be a moment but ended up being 1.5 hours. I had initially wanted a pedicure as well. They told me while they were doing my fingernails they didn’t have time and to come back tomorrow, fine. But after all the wait and the poor work, they even had the AUDACITY to ask us to PREPAY for the imaginary pedicure I was going to get tomorrow. EXCUSE ME. There is no way I’ll ever be coming back here. Such a shame really since it’s only a 5 minute walk away. See photos for what waiting two hours gets you- no better, likely worse than what you can do yourself at home.

Nancy Benedicta Poor service and quality. Its my first time coming here cos its close to the apartment i just moved in. The fact i always go with dipping powder that lasts at least 1 month, i came back to get some of my nails redone cos they cracked within few days. Sadly, they didnt last long again! So i came back and the stylist rudely told me dip powder aint just for me. She would gimme gel instead. Not only that, she did the service harshly with her tool and long nails and said ive got sensitive skin.

The massage was amazing , the foot scrub, the polish job ! It is my new favorite! The staff was so nice and attentive. They even have a free beverage menu! Also super clean and pretty inside .

brittany I got their orange pedicure and gel nail extensions! This place is a little pricier than some other spots in this area but the service was excellent! I have no more calluses on my feet, they’re so smooth! My toenails were perfectly shaped my fingernails look and feel incredible! My nail techs were so attentive, detailed, and friendly, and offered me complementary beverages. There was no odor or chemical smell in there when I went and I overall felt like it was a relaxing experience. Update: Tam is great! Detailed and careful. thanks for giving me a great first matte gel extension with the coffin shape. :)

ORD OAK Been going here for years. When other salons have folded, these guys seem to keep things going. The owner-guy is always welcoming and even if he doesn’t know you, he does a good job pretending he does and makes you feel welcome. I have an outstanding pedicure recently. Very thorough. I didn’t want it to end. Sadly, my experiences are not consistent. Some technicians seem to do the bare minimum and rush through the job rather than give you an experience. I will be directly requesting this tech next visit. Prices are fair. They prefer cash, but take cards. Massage chairs are beginning to look a little worn and televisions are usually not on, even though they have them.

Wired Weird Entertainment The best in Oakland and the east bay. Nails always look extremely gorge and flawless. Best mani/pedi as well as service. I got my Brazilian and underarms waxed as well. Been going for two years and the business is queer owned and comfortable for queers.

Rita G/medhin Didnt listen at all. Rushed. Just did what ever will take her less time asked for a clean up or new set on one stained nail. She literally said its OK while me telling her to stop and added on top of it. Up on paying we saw some uncolored nails took me back and added on top of it. Now color is chpping its looks messy after 2days of getting it done. Very upset and charged me 50$ for a messy refill. Messy, tick , not smooth, ugly. Will never go back there.

Flora Zambakari Went in to just get my toenails and fingernails cut down (including cuticles cut) and the end result was not good at all. I asked for my fingernails to be “round” but what I got was not that. Each nail was a different shape (some were quite round, some oval, some were filed down too much on one side and others weren’t filed properly) and size as can be seen in the photos. I honestly could have done a better job on my own. If you are going to go here, beware that your desired nail shape may not be achieved. And my cuticles weren’t all cut away either. My toenails aren’t terrible but that’s because I asked to cut them down all the way short.

Mxd Chx My daughter brought me here a few years ago and we used to go together sometimes but stopped since the pandemic. I’m glad they are still open because they ladies here are so nice and do a really good job. The location is convenient because the parking garage is close by and also the bus stop (not sure what line) is also close. The ladies do such a good job and it’s always quiet. Something to note, it’s cash only on Sundays. Anyway, I think I’m ready to get back out there and make this my nail place. I need some me time:)

Staci Palmer I went in to get a gel pedicure and a regular manicure. I have been coming to this shop for 22 years. This is the very first time that they did a horrible job. Yvonne the owner did my gel pedicure and as you can see from the photos it is absolutely horrible. Her daughter Qui did my manicure and she didn’t even rub my forearms as she did a quick hand massage. I love them I truly do but this is not acceptable. I will not be patronizing Tulip Nails anymore. I paid $63.00 and it was not worth it at all. Their quality of service has really deteriorated. If anybody has any suggestions for a good quality Nail Salon please advise. Very Disappointed Customer!

Jiin Kim Would not return to this place. I chose this spot because one I usually go was booked for the day. I gave her a picture that I wanted but this is what I got. The white lines are already turning yellow (been 3 daya) and these designs were 30 bucks.. I would have been fine if she flat out told me that she cant do designs I asked for but she insisted she is doing it for me. After spending 150 bucks my toes are irritated because she cut and filed them so short(saying my toenails should match the shape of my nails which were almonds) amd my nails looking like this. I will be going to a different shop this week to get them changed out. Lastly she kept on lowkey bodyshaming me about how she looked just like me wearing size 14~16 and going on and on about her diet process. I never asked for this and felt very uncomfortable. At the end of the appointment there was another customer waiting and she started rushing the designs. Kim seemed very sweet but overall price, quality and hygiene was below standard and I will not be returning

India Barbie She sculptured my nails 3 days ago and the broke the first time I go to work I don’t work hard at all and when I called her to fix them on Tuesday, she said because they broke three days ago. She’s not going to fix them but she’s closed on Monday and she said she was going to charge me for one when they just broke on their own. This was my favorite please but now I can’t say that because she won’t fix my nails now I have to find another nail salon also my nail is bleeding in the middle of my broken nail if I have to go to the hospital, I might have to sue.

Simona Spiegel Such a lovely nail salon, it’s now my go-to! Came here twice for Gel x french then changed to shorter gel x in dark red. Very reasonable prices. Great color and design selection. The staff are sweet and do a good job, my nails last and last. They have a gentle touch and I never bleed, I have sensitive cuticles. I scratched my nails and they fixed it for free! Highly recommend this salon.

L G I got a dip powder manicure here on natural nails with Sonny and it looks great! They did a really good job filling the nail bed and doing the powder all the way near the cuticle so that the manicure lasts long. Usually with my dip manicures in the past theyve left a lot of space where the polish ends and the cuticle begins, and the grow out becomes obvious at 1 week, but I think this manicure will instead last a long time :) I appreciate all the attention and detail that went towards my nails.

Ivy S I’ve been coming here for half a year now and i love it :) I always get dip and they do it exactly how i ask and exactly like the pictures I show. it always lasts for a month, it’s never chipped or anything. everyone who works here is incredibly kind, the service is really outstanding! i couldn’t recommend blossom nails enough!

Britt Welling It is an unsanitary environment as they use trash cans for their “storage.” The workers here will stereotype and up-charge you if you are African-American. Horrible customer service and my nails only lasted a week. Will never recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated fairly.

Rashida Carter Very friendly staff. When I went in today at 6pm there were 3 ladies, and only 1 of them was the nail tech! She was great. My nails came out great. She couldnt do the original design, but what she did looked great! She didnt clip my cuticles, which I actually prefer. She fixed a nail and buffered off the previous gems. It was a great final result. The salon itslef is older, but I enjoyed the ladies.

B Best $60 gel mani/pedi I have ever had. Tina on the pedi was especially detailed and took her time making sure everything looked so beautiful. At first I thought this was just because it was a slow Sunday but even after more customers came she continued to be diligent. Unfortunately I forget the name of the lady who did my nails but I was a little indecisive and she was patient and offered a great solution making me very happy with the results. So often I feel rushed or that service is not up to par at other places. I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service and quality for what was an amazing price. I will certainly be coming back!

Kuali Salsa Love coming here for some self care! This was such a fun nail design and colors to welcome spring. I’ve never been disappointed coming here. Call ahead if you’re in a rush to see if they can accept you as a walk in. They are all lovely and very welcoming.

Delila I love these ladies so much. They do an exceptional job on my gel mani pedi, execute any designs I desire, are friendly and professional and treat me like family. AND when I make an appointment (I suggest you do too, especially on weekends) they are always on time and never make me wait like other nail salons. 10/10.

DUssé Smith At first, I thought this was a great nail shop does great nails very durable. I got to fight and lost one nail that should tell you how good their nails are good when it came to the pedicure. It was the total opposite. I’ve never had no problems with my toenails having discoloration or anything of that nature for the first time in my twenty five years of living I know have a bacterial infection on my big toe on my right foot because of them I have been to countless of salons and I’ve never had had nothing like this happened before zero out of 10 definitely would never recommend

Cassie Stuurman Got a gel manicure, came out to $25 plus tip. Really good price but the color selection was a little limited. They did a good job and its been a few days and they havent chipped or peeled yet.

Carolyn Holloway Yesterday, I had a very negative experience at the nail salon located in the High street strip mall. I called ahead of time as usual to schedule the appointment and told Ttinh Tonnu that I wanted the regular pedicure at $30. She said OK and to come in now. I told her that I would be there within the next 30 minutes. Upon arrival I didnt have to wait more than 10 minutes before someone was ready to service me. I told the lady that wanted the regular pedicure for $30. She said okay. As she was performing her duties she began asking me several times if I wanted her to put gel for an extra $5. I continued to tell her that I didnt want gel. I finally got feed up with her pestering me about giving consent to add gel until I explained to her that I have answered you "no, I do not want gel. No means no." Wgen she finished and I was about to give her $30, she said oh, its $35 because you asked for gel to be added. I disputed her claim that I asked for gel. She told me that I always get gel when I come. I disputed again that I never get gel and Im not paying for gel. I found myself getting so angry until I had changed my demeanor to hostility and rude tone. I repeated several times more that "I told you no, I did want gel." All of a sudden she looked at the owner/manager, and said " for you this time will be $30. I paid her and she directly me to pay the owner/ manager. I paid the owner and she gave me change out of $40 ( 2x$20). I left quietly and without leaving a customary tip. I think that I am going to have to find another nail salon to get my pedicures in the future. I was upset. This is not the first or second time that the person servicing my needs there seem to pester me about consent for them to give me gel for an additional cost of $5.

desiree moore Had a great experience with Kathy! Will definitely be booking another pedicure. *Revised* I had an appointment today for a paraffin pedicure. Not sure what happened today but after 2.5 hours my toes still wont dry and the paint has clumped in some areas. I drove around with the a/c on my feet but not too happy about the paint job.

She’s very thoughtful and thorough about her customer’s health and safety, especially since COVID-19. Highly recommend going if you don’t mind getting your nails done by yourself. Christine R. It was my first time at Nailbar and Kathy was wonderful! It was my first pedicure in awhile so decided to treat myself to the Lavender Pedicure. Kathy did a thorough job with cleaning and taking care of my feet. The extra time of the massage was much needed! The shop is good size, clean and currently it’s appointment only which is a plus in my book since she sees one customer at a time. I appreciate the quiet time given. She doesn’t have the typical massage chairs found in a nail shop. The chairs are comfy sitting chairs. Definitely will be coming back.

Yongyu Wu As you can see from other reviews, the ladies are ok but the manager was super fake. I paid $34 and $11 tips for this. My nail just been done for a week. I called back and ask the manager, how many layer that they usually put on for manicure, he was saying depends on the color. Oh man, don’t lie, you knew that day was busy so you didn’t do the right service to your customers. YOU PICKS YOUR CUSTOMER! Never come back.

Liz Hart This place is GREAT! Everyone is always super friendly and fun to be around. It’s a high energy place with people working hard to make your nails look fabulous. I’ve had great pedicures and gel nails done on a regular basis. I tend to do things last minute so I don’t have a regular person I go to. I feel comfortable with all the people working there and know I’ll get a fabulous manicure. They’ll work hard to fit you in. I like the owner. It’s easy if you need to shop at Safeway. It’s a good sized mall. So far I’ve only had very good experiences here! Six months later after a long trip back east and failed manicures by others Im back and really happy with the service!
