Megan Krul Papillon is the best nail salon Ive been to! Gypsy is AMAZING, she takes great care into making sure her clients nails are healthy and to their liking. She always makes sure to make my nails as perfect as she can. No one has ever done my nails better! I never leave feeling disappointed. My mom gets her nails done by Jimmy, and says the same of him as well. Theres no TV in the studio, which is very relaxing as they play a great mix of music instead.
They only take appointments, so when you arrive you wont have to wait around or feel like theyre rushing. With that being said, I highly recommend making sure youre not late for your appointment because if you are, it puts them behind for everyone else and thats not good for anybody.
I used to go to Ocean Nails and would always get dip, but they would break within a week and a half. At Papillon, my dip nails last nearly 3 1/2 weeks!
In the photo: I asked Gypsy for baby pink tips, and that I needed help picking a base. She, as always, came to the rescue and helped me pick the perfect combo!

Roxane Pizarro King Amazing salon - They really take care of little details and go the extra mile to provide excellent service. Their colors are amazing, the chairs super comfortable and the staff is the best part! Gypsy is an artist and you can tell she loves what she does. So thankful I found them!

Luann Caesar I am so excited to have tracked down my favorite nail techs. Jimmy and his daughter Gypsy. Between the two of them they have been doing my nails (dip) and toes (gel) for years, Their new salon, Papillon Nail Studio is beautiful, clean, and convenient. Plenty of on-site parking, lots of color choices, and super comfortable massage pedi chairs. I wholeheartedly recommend both Jimmy, & Gypsy for all your mani/pedi needs AND their new salon at 3528 State Street, Santa Barbara.

I would have been happy to wait but didn’t feel as though that was even an option.

Rachel Palumbo Nails looked great for like 16 hours and then they started chipping. I initially went in for a nail repair and they convinced me to get a refill—fair. A couple of days later I returned because several of my nails chipped. The solution was to simply paint the tips where they chipped and add a top coat. Thinking back on it, I’m not sure she used a bottom coat… anyway, they obviously chipped again! So, now I’m going to have to get ANOTHER manicure—somewhere else of course which is going to cost me. Very nice people, but they won’t last you.

Sandee Taylor Tammy and her team are wonderful. I love getting nails done. They are usually able to see me as a walk in. I get gel pedicure and gel mani. Everyone who worked here is really kind and talented. Clean environment, downtown location, and peaceful music. Highly recommend.

Mikki Pineda Great experience! Walked in on a Friday at 4:30 for a gel manicure and was finished by 5pm. They had a beautiful selection of Fall colors so I picked the darkest one #312 because my first choice was black. The hand massage and hot towel wrap at the end was very relaxing! Thank you!

Gutierrez-Gupta Estefania “Stef” I recently visited Cielo Spa with a gift card my husband bought for me. While the massage and facility were beautiful and relaxing, I was very disappointed with the initial interaction. As soon as I walked through the door, Tova, asked about the “tip arrangement”. This felt very unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. The worker also asked if I wanted my husband’s card to be charged or if I would pay, which I felt could have been settled after the massage. Additionally, I had to look up the cost to figure out the price and calculate the tip, which was quite annoying given that this was a gift meant for my relaxation. Unfortunately, this stress overshadowed the entire experience. I would have given this place 5 stars, location and facility are great. However, being asked for a tip as soon as I walked through the door, was very distasteful. And yes, I still left a tip, I always leave a tip, I don’t need to be harassed for one.

Gilly Schleifer I was just looking for a place to get my legs waxed during a long trip and found this place, that was cheaper than other places. I had an appointment with Jennifer and it was amazing.
I have a relatively sensitive skin, and it didnt hurt a bit! She was quick but very thorough, and super nice. If I were a local that would definitely be my usual place:)

Penaloza Orquidea “brook” ZERO STARS
I’m a licensed cosmetologist, and my experience here was beyond disappointing. I booked a $120 Vitamin C facial on 7/10/21, which the owner, Roxanne, claimed included a "mild" chemical peel. That was completely false.
The esthetician, a blonde or light brunette woman who said she was 32, did almost nothing. She applied 8–10 hot towels, brushed on what felt like cream without explaining it, and used her fingernails to “extract” my nose—unsanitary and unacceptable. This left dents and peeling on my nose. She pretended to extract the rest of my face in five seconds and offered unprofessional advice to use coconut oil for my concerns.
She didn’t wear a mask, even though the website claims staff follow safety protocols. I left with greasy skin, no improvement, and visible damage.
Roxanne, train your staff, enforce sanitation, and offer services that match what you advertise. This was appalling, and I hope changes are made to prevent others from going through this.

Marjorie Large I had an amazing deep tissue massage with Roxanne. She is truly a gifted therapist who not only provided me with pain relief but also an afternoon of pure relaxation! My friend and I were able to enjoy some time away from work and recharge. The day spa is so beautiful, too. A perfect sanctuary!

Cody Karlin My wife and I came in for a couples massage on our anniversary. We’re from out of town and it’s always hard to get a feel for a spa online, but the positive reviews here were overwhelming and I’m happy to say that everything lived up to (and beyond) expectation!
One of our massage therapists was Jennifer. I can’t remember the other’s name but they were both excellent, attentive to our needs and problem spots and left us feeling refreshed and limber afterward!
The scheduling process was professional, efficient, and easy. The facility itself was clean, orderly and easy to navigate. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend Cielo Spa and look forward to coming back if we’re in the area again!

Ksenia Ledneva When I moved to Santa Barbara it was very hard to find a good, high quality spot for mani/pedi and finally I found the Springtide. It’s a great place with nice atmosphere and professional service. The place itself is very cozy and well designed.

Amy Dalene A beautifully curated space and environment. All employees were professional and welcoming. They have a great selection of nail colors and non toxic clean products. I was very pleased with my nails and service. A great addition to downtown.

Lotus Bech Terrible experience.
Their business ethics are extremely limiting.
My manicurist told me to take a break from getting gel on my hands and feet.
So we booked a mani pedi with regular polish for the next time I would come in.
Mind you, that I had just gotten gel on my hands and feet by them.
Then I come in for mani and pedi. They never asked me which package I wanted so they naturally just gave me the more expensive one for hands and feet combo.
Once my card was charged I was chocked!
They charged me 250 for a mani and pedi with regular nail polish!
I wrote to them and complained.
And they charged me $140 for the combo of the nicer treatment with regular polish + $40 to take off the gel on my hands and feet. CHOCKED.
Then I got a strengthening nail polish from them $25 ...
Then I told them to tip the lady 20% And they tipped her 20% on everything
After taxes and fees after treatment, gel removal, even the nail polish.
Just so rude.
It costs $155 to get the gel combo for hands and feet and that includes removing the gel.
I suggested they at least charged me for that so that it wouldnt end up costing me more to get regular polish than gel. But they wouldnt!
I was never informed that they would charge me $40 for the gel or that the combo I was getting would be $140 vs $155 with gel.
Plus if I had, had a choice I would have chosen the $110 mani pedi with regular polish.
I feel so mistreated, even after emailing with them they didnt want to do anything to comb me or help me not feeling mistreated.
So here we are. I told them I wouldnt come back if they were seriously not going to do anything and they said they understood if I wanted to take my business elsewhere.
This is after going there and being a high paying client for years. So disappointing.
Thanks for my $250 mani pedi with regular polish.
FYI this is how my nails looked after 1 day.

Brian and Shaun Came here with our maids of honor for a pamper before our wedding day. The staff at Springtide were all so wonderful, kind and attentive, and the service is top-notch. We left feeling relaxed and our nails still look incredible a week out!

Daria Kos Super cute spot, easy scheduling, clean instruments and all the jars, towels etc (!the most important!), friendly and professional employees.
My nail professional was great — very nice, gentle and attentive.
Nevertheless, 4 starts (I would put 4,5 if I could) just because it didn’t meet my expectations (in a heel cleaning department particularly) compare to European pedicure or other regular pedicures I’ve done before in another places.
I also would suggest to add an extra time to the appointment or maybe an additional area in the store - so the customer could take time to dry the polish a bit longer.

Ariel Elrod I wouldn’t call this an “upscale” salon, nor was it very relaxing… located in an older building, front door open, cars honking and little bugs lingering around me during the whole service.
I got a pedicure. The technician seemed nice but was behind on time. Anyway, she told me she couldn’t cut my nails because my skin was too close to the nails, this resulting to her only using a file which took a long time, I noticed my nails were different lengths and she argued they weren’t, I just gave up. I have no understanding as to why she wouldn’t cut them as I have been getting pedicures for several years and no one has ever brought this “issue” to my attention or refused to cut my nails with clippers, I have also cut my nails myself with no “issues”….
The massage was nice, she painted my nails and did a top coat, said they were dry and I was good to go so I left. I wore sandals/was barefoot the rest of the night, I took a shower about 3 hours later and all the polish smudged all over. I also noticed my feet are very dry on the bottom still so I don’t think they have a good procedure intact for pedicures, it seemed very basic/low end.
Overall, there were more negatives than positives, I feel like I wasted my time and money, I would not recommend this salon and I will not be back.

Isla Vista Hair Co. as a beauty professional in the industry for almost 19 years i am in awe and great appreciation for Miraya and her team of caring & talented nail artists. not only are they exceptional at what they do, the environment is beautiful, clean, & extremely inviting.
i had given up on nail salons all together because they all felt the same. i always felt rushed in and out, not cared for, ignored, and they always hurt me and ultimately ruined my nails. now my natural nails are the longest, strongest & most beautiful they’ve ever been! unlike all of my previous experiences in other places, they last without any chipping, lifting or breaking and that says a lot considering i’m a busy hairstylist in water constantly. i’m also a nail picker/ biter and im never made to feel bad if i overly pick at them and they have to fix it.
they also offer super easy online booking and have a great reminder system in place.
definitely worth the investment to have the nails of my dreams! so grateful this place exists and i found it!

Wiktoria Marroquin ITS A NO NO FOR ME
I’m having my nails done for past 8+ years. Always going for same either gel polish or structure gel on my natural nails.
Usually paying 50-70$ depending if I’m getting some nail art or not.
My nails were done by Miraya.
I asked for a lavender french tip. Firstly my cuticles were only trimmed with cuticle cutter and I needed to ask for more detail cuticle care because they were looking very rough..
Secondly when I saw my first hand with tip I was speechless.. It was twice as thick as it is on the pictures I attached here. The girl got an attitude when I asked her if she can change it.. That wasn’t very nice since I was trying to be very polite about it. French like this was trending when my Mom was young. It was looking very bad. There is no attention to detail at this salon. I have bubbles everywhere, not even edges - gel is wavy full of indentation on the edges. My right thumb looks like it has a week growth already, the polish is very far from the cuticle.
Total: $83
I would think twice before booking appointment at the Nail Nook.

Mai Thao A while back my boyfriend surprised me for my birthday. Upon entering the salon, it was warm and inviting. The staff greeted us right away and I was seated within a couple of minutes. Miraya did my manicure and I have to say it was one of the best I’ve ever received. Not only did she do a beautiful job, she was super friendly and we chatted the entire session. I will definitely return!

Courtney Schneider Booked the Euphoria massage with Daniel. It was such a relaxing and nurturing experience. Top of the line for self care!
When you check in, you have the opportunity to change into a robe and sandals before heading to the lounge area. Once your provider is ready they come get you and take you back to their treatment area. Daniel was caring and really wanted to understand what I hoped to get or of the experience. Daniel was insistent on creating the perfect experience and encouraged me to speak up if something felt really good or if adjustments could be made to make every second perfect! Highly recommend!

not to mention the products she used smelt so good & left my skin feeling soft & silky. I will definitely be coming back for your other services!

Kathleen Ollen I would sadly NOT recommend getting a massage here and the pedicure was also very okay. I felt like I was being pet and oiled in my massage, not exactly what one is looking for typically. Likely could have given myself a better massage is that had been possible. Go to the Asian salons in town for both the massage and pedi. They will be have the cost, not amazing, but MUCH better than this place.

Hailey Sestak Do NOT get a spray tan here! I had never gotten a spray tan before, but wanted to get a trial done before my wedding. First thing I was told is “oh no it’s coming out blotchy” and the woman tried to fix her equipment. She seemed super unconfident when doing my treatment and told me she’s only done one other bride. The only part of my body that has even color is my chest and back. My arms and legs have tons of white patches and my feet are 5 times darker than the rest of my body. Luckily I still have time to go get another trial somewhere else!

for the mid afternoon which I would recommend, so there would be no wait. Minh was friendly, considerate and an experienced professional and provided nails that were just the way I like it. Great experience at this longstanding, fanily run place and I appreciated the fair price for the quality of work. I will return when I get the chance to visit Goleta again.

Sarah VanHoy I visited this nail salon with my 2 year old daughter today, looking for a pedicure for my tired, pregnant mommy feet and legs. Amy did my pedi and she was incredible. Pleasant, friendly, absolutely amazing with my daughter and gave an incredible foot and calf massage. After painting my toes, she did my daughters and was so kind and fast and I appreciated the fact that she included and spoke to my toddler about colors, what she was doing, and really made it a special experience for us. I will absolutely be using this salon in the future.

Lori Marshall Do NOT go here. I had a gel mani and the guy who was helping me made me soak my fingers in acetone to take the gel polish off, instead of wrapping the nails individually. I was getting another gel mani, and as i was waiting for my nails to dry i saw the most disgusting thing ever. The man who had helped was pouring the USED acetone back into the bottle and was picking out the polish. I was speech less, he looks at me and says that it is to expensive to throw out. I wont be returning and suggest you dont either.

Rowan Atwood My go-to salon, in fact I won’t go anywhere else. They maintain a clean and professional business, while also being able to have casual friendly conversations with customers. When sitting in there, I watch many other customers come and go, often being called by their first name and treated with respect and kindness. It’s always a good feeling to be recognized.
Not to mention Minh’s ability to go acrylic nails. I’ve never had a nail tech actually listen to what I want while also being able to offer good input and suggestions. They last a long time too and most affordable salon for full sets and fills, BY far. Thank you Minh.
I will continue to keep coming back for as long as i live in santa barbara, and also keep referring people their way when asked where I got them done, as I receive many compliments.

Cary Kresl I’m new to Santa Barbara and tried 3 other nail salons before finding Best Nails. They are awesome! I had my first gel manicure after years of “dipping”, and I wasn’t sure if it would last as long as acrylic, but it did! It was 3 full weeks until I got a crack on my forefinger. I’m happy that gel is not as hard and damaging to my natural nail. I’ve been back 3 times now and I love working with my technician, Carrie. She is very experienced, efficient, and friendly. And the vibe of the salon is sweet and happy. I highly recommend Best Nails!

Peggy Gray There are on state street where de la vina starts and across the street from evans relaxing station. This is my second time getting my nails done here. Scheduling appointments is generally pretty easy. Ive been able to get in conveniently with my schedule, which can be hectic these days. They are always very friendly and chatty. I think they are very professional, and clean. I dont worry about fungus or anything. They are reasonably priced as well. Worth checking out.

Arriaga Svetlana (Lana) This is my to-go-nails-spot in town. I’ve been going there since last year July when I needed a fresh set for my wedding (see video) and I honestly cannot say anything bad. One time I had to wait a little longer which I didn’t mind at all because I got use the massaging chair while waiting. I am definitely obsessed with my most recent set of nails. The color is beautiful and looks natural! The staff is always nice and friendly. I also love their pedicures. Highly recommend!

Sharon Jackson This review is based on all 3 of my experiences there, which makes it worse that as a repeat customer my business is not appreciated. First off, I asked for a new acrylic set since I’ve already had 2 fill-ins. One of my chief complaints here is that these people always tell me what I need instead giving me what I ask for. First time I was here, I asked for a full acrylic set and a manicure, they told me my hands looked fine and I only needed the set. This time I ask for new set, they tell me I only need a fill in. Anywho- I just got a French fill in earlier today, and after my hands were thrown around like a rag doll for half an hour, I leave but don’t realize until after how poor of a job was done. See photos. White paint smudges, and he didn’t bring the white down to the full corner of my nails on all my left fingers. The guy didn’t even prop my hands up on a hand rest this time. I am hoping this bad service isn’t because I’m black and they’re always assuming I won’t tip (even though I have EVERY time), but it truly feels like it’s a racial thing because the pretty white woman next to me got treated like a goddess that blessed their shop with her presence. I’ve always supported Asian-owned businesses without bias, but I can’t seem to get that respect in return so now I am avoiding them. Anyway, for anyone who cares, be advised this place is pretty to look at but the service is truly terrible in my opinion.

Elisabeth Haby I would highly recommend this salon. Phuong was attentive, patient and asked plenty of questions to make sure I was happy with my nails. I had to remove my dipping powder and he made sure to do so gently and with soaking instead of filing them down to risk any damage.
Sue was also fantastic with the design I wanted even though it was intricate. She took her time and I was very happy with the result.
In the hour or so that I was there, a handful of regular customers came in and were each greeted by name. After coming here I can absolutely understand their loyal customer base. This is a fantastic salon and I would absolutely come back.

Cara Christian I’ve been coming here consistently for well over a year now. Anytime I switch salons I regret it and always come back to them. They are great at dip manicures and take the time to properly remove the dip to avoid nail breakage. They are always easy to communicate with whenever I am looking for special style or shape. Highly recommended! Also recommend to call for an appointment, (they are always busy due to returning clients). Photos of dip chrome pink manicure

Michelle I was very happy to see that this place had good reviews, and after I walked over there to ask what the prices were, I was even happier that they were extremely reasonable. They said come back in 10 minutes, which I did.
But, now I understand why the prices are reasonable. I have never felt so rushed in my whole life. The entire experience was hurry hurry, hurry. It wasn’t relaxing, and she was in such a rush to get me out of the chair, she messed up the nail polish on my toes, had to redo it, which took even longer.
I spent more time waiting for my toes to dry than the entire experience of a pedicure with paraffin, which was about 20 minutes. My feet didn’t even need that much work, but the whole reason a woman goes to get a pedicure or a manicure is to feel pampered and relaxed. That didn’t happen.
I felt like their most important customer was the “next” one. Money money money.

Lindsay Kent I’ve been to many salons over the years, and Star Nails is by far my favorite. (They’re so good that I live an hour away now, and still drive to Goleta for nails)
Some of my fav things about them…
- Attention to detail: they’re meticulous about getting the perfect length, shape, consistency of overall nail (especially for acrylics), clean cuticle line, etc. I never have to ask for any little fixes!
- Gentle: They are so careful! I’ve never had cuts or burns from filing, which is amazing
- Long-lasting: I get a full two weeks from acrylics with zero lifting. I could go longer if I wanted!
- Friendly: they’re overall just super nice people.

Tiffy Lou I walked right in and they got me in a chair. A little on the pricey her side but not too bad. Nice people. Not much English. The thing I’m most impressed with is my pedicure has lasted longer than almost any pedicure I’ve ever had. The only reason I didn’t give them five stars is because I like there to be a little edge left unpainted around the nail.Like a border. They didn’t do that and brought the polish right to the edge. But that’s just my weird pickiness.
So basically I’d give this place two thumbs up.

Vanessa W I got builder gel with extensions and it cost me $88. The guy working on my nails seemed like he was in a rush and when he was using the drill on my nails, he kept brushing up against my skin which hurt and caused both of my pinky fingers to bleed. The skin around some of my fingers are slightly red and inflamed because he kept drilling onto my skin. From afar the nails look fine but when I look closely, I can tell that he didn’t paint the edges of my nails well either. There are spots on the sides that are missing polish as seen in the picture. Overall, I don’t think it was worth the money or the pain to get my nails done here.

Jessie Prodromos I have been going to Champagne Nails on & off for a couple of years. The place is welcoming & comfortable; playing chill music and is well lit without blinding you. Let’s not forget the available champagne (or lemon infused water). :)
While all of CN staff are wonderful, my recent visits with Jessica have about turned me into a regular. Jessica is always friendly and works diligently at her craft. She takes her time with nail shape & designs so you leave HAPPY. I broke a natural nail and Jessica was able to fit + perfectly shape an extension to match. These may be my favorite nails I’ve ever treated myself too. Will definitely be returning next month for fun/new designs.

Michelle Tahan I discovered Champagne Nail Bar about a year and a half ago and have been a regular visitor ever since. Its the best salon Ive experienced, not only in Santa Barbara but anywhere else Ive been to. It excels in every aspect: quality, service, personnel, and ambiance.
The staff are highly professional, friendly, and exceptionally skilled. Im always met with warm welcomes. The salons environment is spotlessly clean, hygienic, and elegantly decorated. It has a great vibe, and Im always offered champagne or water on arrival, a gesture that makes me feel like Im on vacation.
Every technician Ive encountered is attentive and meticulous. Ive never had any issues with the quality of service.
Champagne Nail Bar is a true gem in Santa Barbara. A special thanks to Jessica, Tu, Miza, Victoria and the entire team for making my visits so enjoyable.

Crafted Cocktails Tu is very nice the place is very clean and I get the best first impression. But after my last visit I’m questioning if I’ll ever go back. They cut my cuticles so short they scarred the next day on 6 of my fingers, I had to go back in after the visit on the same day because they lady cut my nails crooked. I was getting them done for my best friends wedding and I was a groomsman, I don’t typically expect much when I get a pedicure I don’t get them often but they charged extra for things that should be included and are included at most places and my fingers literally hurt I just had to leave a review. Hopefully with my complaints to management and this review they will tighten things up because I’ve always heard great things. Price was out of control for a man’s pedicure and manicure. $125 with tip
That’s a lot for the little they doo

Megan Pawlak Went for an acrylic fill with gel coat. ($55+ tip) A day later I had several nails chipping. Ive never had this happen before. I also observed someone else coming in to get chipped nails fixed. I dont think they let their gel polish cure long enough. Even as I was getting it done it felt shorter than other spots Ive been to.
Shame because I was very happy otherwise. Friendly tech, and they looked great. Would be a better spot if they just slowed down.

A $42 gel manicure should last way longer before it starts chipping.

Kristy Hamilton I received one of the worst manicures from a younger man who worked there. He cut my cuticles too close, making them painful the next day. He also used a technique of messily putting the gel polish on and then scraping the edges of my cuticles with a sharp object to remove the polish on my skin. On top of that, he didnt buff my nails so the gel polish started peeling within 48 hours. A total waste of $60.
The older women who did our pedicures did a nice job and they deserve their flowers. I suggest asking for them if you go.

My nails were cut extremely short (they look like stubs), one of my big toes are completely crooked, there is nail polish on my skin in multiple areas, one of my big toes is missing a good portion of nail polish. For getting the most expensive pedicure I would not only think the polish would be on my toes and not on my skin but they would also be completely covered in the polish. I was really disappointed as I only treat myself maybe every 6 months cause its so expensive...

Worst experience ever! First, during my pedicure I was not asked if I preferred my toenails trim cut or filed the guy completely cut all my toenails down to the skin & was completely uneven. Being an everyday sandal wearer, I prefer them long.
Secondly another nail technician comes to the pedicure station and started removing my old
Acrylic set by a nail clipper& she started cutting the nails very rapidly when she got to my index finger she went down to the skin when I said ouch she kept going and cut me til I started bleeding.
I yelled please Stop Im Bleeding! please get the
antiseptic she put the solution on my finger it burned terribly ,and all she said was sorry.
After my pedicure was finished, I went to the nail station and another lady Tina started to finish the
removal of the nails and at this point, I’m so seriously in pain that I decided to not get the full set that I intended on getting but asked for a gel
manicure instead. Finally, when my services were done The woman Tina ,charged me $101 for the service and by this time , Im super shocked because she knows that I’m not happy with my experience, and when I paid the money that she charged me, she then had the nerve to ask me for a tip! I will never go back to this shop I will always tell everybody I know to never go to this place they are insensitive awful people.

Today and the last few times however, Ive felt like Ive been rushed through (despite having an appointment) and had very mediocre pedicures compared to what I experienced in the past. Just don’t go n a Sunday when she’s not there. It’s free game and the people that work there don’t seem to care or pay attention. The last two times I have been there, I walked away with 2 open cuts on my fingers and today I walked away with a little chunk off the top of my toe while I was getting a pedi. When I said that it was sore, the girl said it was there before. Of course I know that is total BS. I would have known, because I’m on my feet 10 hrs a day! Sarah Nauta I couldn’t be happier with my acrylic nails! The nail technician was incredibly thorough and did a great job shaping them. They looked so good before she put paint on I was almost considering doing a sheer paint. It was my first time so I’m so glad I went here.

Mia O these people have no idea what they are doing, especially anything about customer service. i had one nail tech take off my polish and tell me to go wait for the only other nail tech so that she could snack and be on the phone. i’ve been waiting for 20 minutes and will probably wait more

Brianna La’Shae I used to come here and stopped because the guy that worked there was disrespectful as hell and clearly only cared about certain clients. These past couple weeks I decided to give them another chance and same mess. I made an appointment and still had to wait two hours for my daughter to get her POLISH CHANGED because an older, WHITER couple walked in and wanted pedicures. When I told them that I’d appreciate it if my time was valued as much as their other customers, one of the women there just laughed and rolled her eyes. The only saving grace was the young man who explained to me that he was having car trouble and was running late. It costs waaaay too much for you guys to be disrespecting your customers and I imagine that’s why that place is always so empty. Save your coins and go somewhere else.

Hannah Hobson I got a dip manicure on my real nails at Famous Nails about a week ago. Within just a few days the dip began breaking off when I picked up anything or used my hands at all. This has never happened to me before, so I assume the dip powder is not of high quality. I’m very disappointed that for the price I paid my nails are destroyed within less than a week.

Vanessa Allen I arrived right on time for my appointment and was sat right away but still ended up waiting about 20 minutes for a nail tech to become available. The chairs are a little hard and the foot rests don’t have any padding so half way through my pedicure my arches were sore from resting against the hard surface while the tech worked on my feet. This was my first time at this salon so I opted for the basic $35 gel pedicure. I booked my service online a few days before my appointment and upon arrival I reiterated to the receptionist that I was there for a basic pedicure. The service is listed as a dry pedi with cuticle clean up, nail shaping and polish. Very basic but it’s all I really needed and I wasn’t prepared to spend more at a place I’d never been to before. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the the pedicure I chose did, in fact, include a soak, callous removal and light leg massage. The pedicure was completed meticulously albeit a little rough. The tech burned me with the drill a couple times while removing my previous gel polish. She apologized and was more careful. For $35 my nails came out immaculate. The chairs hurt, the foot rests leave a lot to be desired but for the price the quality of the pedicure is incredible. I would go back again for sure.

Rhonda DuPar I really like this location for pedicures. The spa deals are good. This last time I was there during COVID, there were 2 employees, one masked and one not. There were 3 customers, decently spaced, but again 2 masked, one not. Coming from a household with an immune impaired person, I was uncomfortable. If they want to remain open, they need to insist on masks.

Disappointing Manicure Experience
I had a manicure today that was unfortunately not up to par. The nail technician seemed inexperienced and didn’t appear confident in her work. Throughout the session, she seemed unsure of the steps, which affected the quality of the service. The polish application was uneven, and there were visible mistakes that she didn’t correct. I expected a more polished (literally and figuratively) experience but left feeling disappointed.
Hopefully, with more training, this tech can improve, but based on today’s experience, I wouldn’t recommend.

Arman I am writing this on behalf of my girlfriend who got the worst service she has ever experienced in her entire life. Her and her friend decided to go get their pedicures done to what seemed like a normal place at first until they started dealing with the employees. Both girls got told a price that wasnt the same in the end and were ripped off completely by this terrible establishment. They prey on people who arent from the area and will take advantage of anyone anyway they can. They completely cut my girlfriends toe, blamed it on her, and attempted to charge her for the "extra services" of cleaning it up. This was including them talking shit to them in their language, harassing them to get an extra "gel" service over and over again, and trying to rush the process as quick as they can so they can move on and scam the next customers. The way this was explained to me was like nothing I have ever heard of before and highly recommend everybody to stay away from this trash can of a business. This place has money laundering written all over it and I will continue to see that they get shut down.

Amber Woods I decided to stop by this business while visiting family in Santa Barbara. My nails were in pretty bad shape and I needed them to be cleaned up ASAP. Nga was my manicurist and she did an AMAZING job. She throughly cleaned my cuticles and recommended that I choose a polish that was more durable than the previous one that I was wearing. I appreciated her willingness to take her time during the process along with being very gentle. If I lived in the area I would definitely go to this salon regularly! I highly recommend going to Lilys Nails of Santa Barbara with all your pedicure/manicure needs. The staff is wonderful.

Monique Sanchez Literally absolutely so crazy. Please read all the reviews about this place before going. I’m from out of town but I was charged $65 dollars for a gel removal. I initially went in to get a full pedicure but the first lady was taking a while to remove the gel, which is totally okay but the owner came in speaking to her in a rude tone and took over and started to cut my cuticles and I had said she did not have to but insisted. So I decided to just do the removal because the vibes were already so off I couldn’t stay. We go up to pay and she said it was going to be $65 for a removal and a full pedicure. Keep in mind I just got a removal which the price had stated “$15” so she told me that I was charged an extra $50 to cut my cuticles. They are absolutely crazy to charge that price and will definitely try to scam you and play dumb. They know exactly what they are doing. Please go to any other place before this one. Terrible service and will scam you.

Deborah Johnson I visited while traveling thru the area on vacation. I had a great massage from Rehanna followed by a meditation session in the salt cave. Constance AG This is a unique and affordable stop for an hour on a trip to Santa Barbara. You can enjoy a 45 minute session in a well designed salt cave to detox. The cave is tranquil and relaxing with meditation sounds and music. They do require reservations. This experience was very affordable. They also have a soundbath experience that is a bit more and on the higher end they offer massage. I found their shop filled with affordable items to buy. I went home with a bag filled for about 100.00. And I got about 20 different items! I highly recommend a stop in.

Cara Christian I came here for the convenience since it was close to an appointment I had later and they could fit me in. However it was the worst manicure experience I have had. I’m not sure of the guy’s name that booked me but he was not gentle. Never have I gone to a salon that removed my dip powder with a cuticle cutter and an acrylic nail! My old dip was starting to lift off my natural nail so he said it was easier for him to cut parts off where it was lifting with a cuticle cutter and then used an acrylic nail to get underneath and pop off the rest of it. Immediately I told him that it felt weird. On the second nail I said this kinda hurts. On the 4th nail I said this is hurting, do you use acetone soak? He said no this is better. I told him “I’m okay with soaking them, I have the time for it”, but he didn’t listen to me. He went on a tangent that everyone does it differently. I would also like to mention that I was the only person in the salon, there was definitely time to remove them properly with acetone. After removing 7 of my nails and splitting the tips on two of them, I asked for the nail drill. He did switch to the drill but he was also quick to burn me.
Finally the old dip was removed. He did not offer to cut my nails. Once I realized he was ready to start setting the dip powder, I had to tell him I wanted my nails cut not just filed (mainly because he broke two of my nails and I wanted it to be even). When we got to the dipping part, he repeatedly dipped each nail in the powder making them thick and uneven. This isn’t all that bad since you can smooth it out with the drill later, but it did take longer this way and caused the color to be less bright since he had to smooth so much of it down.
And because he had to smooth so much down, he cut me 4 times at the cuticle beds with the nail drill!! It’s been two days since I got my nails and they are still stinging!! I’ve been putting Neosporin on because I’m worried about infection.
To top it alllll off, I had to pay an extra $10 for the removal of dip!! A removal that wasnt even properly done! This 50min appointment cost me $70!! I have never not tipped before but this was a time I for sure felt no tip was needed. I did clarify the price of dip on the phone before, but I was not aware they charge extra if you already have dip on. Every salon I’ve been to includes removal in the price if youre getting a full set.
The end result is nice, but it was the worst experience ever. And overpriced. I feel scammed and I don’t not think this salon is up to regulations for dip nails. Never have I seen a manicurist remove dip nails like that before. I highly do NOT recommend coming here for dip powder nails.
This first photo is right after I got them done, you can see 3 of my nails on this hand are cut at the nail bed. Also when he was doing the top gel coat, you could clearly see they were bleeding and he didnt mention anything about it. The second photo is two days later, my nail beds are still reddened and sting.

Shawna Kinsey I got some long French acyrilic nails done the other day by Tammy she was very friendly and nice and did a good job and was fast. Only complaint I have is the price it was $110 but she says they will last so it’s worth it, I will see I guess. Also she left a little glue and stuff around the nails which took a few days to come off which I don’t know if that’s what salons normally do cause I never get my nails done. I thought the nails were going to be $75 as they said acrylic nails cost that much , Tammy says they cost more cause of the pink color and length.Overall I enjoyed the experience and love the nails.

Zenil Vaghasiya I was disappointed with my recent visit to Nail Palace. The staff was notably rude during our appointment. Specifically, we were told to ‘keep quiet’ in a manner that felt disrespectful and unwelcoming. It’s important for a service business to make all clients feel comfortable and valued, and unfortunately, that was not the case during my visit. I hope the salon takes this feedback into consideration to improve their customer service.

CrossFitGirl This was the WORST pedicure experience I ever had. They don’t care what You (as the paying customer) want - they do what THEY want. I wanted a “mini” pedicure. Would have paid anything - it’s not about the money. It’s about what I want done to my feet. No dice. They insisted on doing everything & spoke in another language the entire time - to each other. SO uncomfortable - as Elaine (Seinfeld) said, you KNOW they are talking about you! To top it off, both manicurists were sick. They were wearing masks (barely), but were coughing & sneezing the entire time. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Beverly Burr Usually a good value at this nail salon in Montecito. Be sure to request your nail tech. Most of them are quite good and well-tempered.
I was assigned the owner’s 70-year-old mother for my mani and pedi this time. Maybe she just needs new glasses. But for my visit she could not make contact between my cuticles and the cuticle tools, and could not see well enough to notice her filing job had left snags behind. I had to ask her to stop the mani.

Ann Levine Appointments for me and my daughter at 3:30 - we werent done until 5:45 pm. I knew it wasnt going to go well when I sat for 15 minutes before she wrapped my nails to remove the gel. I wanted a gel manicure but was bullied into dip. I was cut twice and Alice said "I didnt cut you" (as though I dont know when Ive been cut). She worked on my daughter and me at the same time, back and forth, helping with someone elses pedicure in between. When I said something about it taking 2 hours and 15 minutes, she said it was because my daughters nails were difficult (she got GelX). Alice had no business taking these appointments. We got no hand massages, no lotion, no service, no kindness, no acknowledgement of mistakes or delays. I wont be returning, which is a shame, because I live a block away.
