paula del castillo I spoke with Chloe, the new owner, to schedule my appointment. I specifically told her four times that I needed someone experienced with ingrown skin and emphasized that it was very important to me. When I arrived, I repeated once again that this was a priority. However, the lady who attended me was a 2/10, and those two points were solely for her kindness. She didn’t clean my nails properly at all, so I had to finish the job myself and repeatedly ask her to clean them better. By the end, I gave up and just told her to leave them as they were. The way how she use the nail polish was also terrible.

Hannah Wesely It’s a good place but when you go last minute you probably don’t get the best, I’m not saying my nails are bad but I’m a little disappointed I’m to shy to speak up at nail salons so that’s probably my own bad, but I’m expecting to get proposed to this week my man paid for my nails and I’m just not as happy as I would’ve liked with the set you can easily see the nail tip and on one of the thumbs the French tip isn’t quite right if I’m being honest I got my nails done better in Utah when I visited, I went here because of the high rating and it was just so far from the pictures I’ve seen the pics looked amazing but my nails did not turn out amazing unfortunately… I would make sure you pick the specific person who did those gorgeous nails, it seems who I had was training as well which I’m suprised they wouldn’t tell me, yes the pics of the nails are good but speak up! Or you won’t have nails like That.

Raelyn Swanson They were very friendly and helpful. I showed her a design and she was very helpful giving me suggestions on how we could do something similar. The nail shape is perfect and she spent time making sure they were exactly what I wanted. It was reasonably priced and I loved the results. They were all very nice and we all held a conversation the whole time I was there. They are funny and they care about the work they do. This was the best nail salon experience that I have had and I definitely recommend everyone to come here!!

Sonia Blade We are currently having a heatwave so after a dip in the pool, I looked at my feet and decided to get a pedicure. This was almost at 5. So I googled places near to me and Smiles popped up. I’ve never been here before today but I think I found my new nail salon. Once inside, Jack asked if I also needed my nails done. The truth was, yes. So while I was getting my pedicure, he started to remove the old gel and started my ombré set. The service was great! Jack is very meticulous with his work. I am in love with my nails and my toes look great too!

Shelby Taylor Told the guy I wanted them shorter just not past my fingertips. He files them down to nubs to where my fingers were hurting the next couple of days. Continuously told him to stop and eventually that I wanted to leave. He continued to grab my hand back until another guy came over like he was going to fix it and kept telling me that it was okay. The gentleman told me that my nail artist didn’t speak any English and that I need to speak louder next time so the other employees could hear and then told me my nails look fine. Not to mention it was the wrong nail color, but I’m not too picky about color as long as the nails actually look good and didn’t hurt. I actually started crying in the salon. He gave me the total amount due and I was so mortified and embarrassed by crying that I didn’t even argue. Paid the total without tip and left. I have been getting my nails done for years and first time at this location. I have NEVER had an experience like this.

Jade Jones I came into this salon today to get a full set with powder, an eyebrow and lip wax. I got the pleasure of having these services done by Jackie! She was so kind, easy to talk to and she did an incredible job! I asked for very short almond nails with a neutral color with a hint of pink undertone. My eyebrows and lip wax also came out great. I highly recommend this clean and calming salon and I couldn’t recommend Jackie enough! I will be back to see her :) Thank you!

Olivia Simpson What a wonderful and clean nail salon that I stumbled into when I was visiting family members in Oceanside. The store was clean, very open, I was greeted right away when I came in. My the tech was very nice, asked me the style that I would like and how I would like my nails done. She took extra care of me, and took a lot of time to do my nails. I am a little picky on how I want my nails done, so she did all that and went above and beyond to get my nails to my liking. Highly recommend and would come back again!!

Gena Lipscomb I came for pedicure but had to change to polish change. Mgr came over and didnt like that... I had to leave. The kid gave me a card to pick prices of pedicure. When done he said 35$. Im sorry WHAT? The card said 15$ for polish change and 3$ for nail fix. She said 5$ for toes. Ok I agreed to 20$. She wanted 35$. Thats not what they advertise. Then she drop price to 25$..again I accused them of inventing prices. Liers. They said "take her polish off". They would rather remove my polish and make me more angry while I called the police because they were commiting..FRAUD then take my 20$ which is their advertised prices and make money. I paid 20$ and told them they were getting a 1 * review

Jaime V Jackie is AMAZING! She’s been doing my nails over the past 2 years. I get dip nails, great alternative to acrylics for nail health. My nails stay healthy between appointments & they last for quite awhile too. All the technicians are great here! Recommend!

Emily Rawls I see Kathy every two weeks and let me tell you I could not ask for a better nail tech. She makes me feel so special and I look forward to seeing her every other week!! She puts so much time and effort into creating intricate and tedious designs for me and is always transparent about price and doesn’t pressure me into to spending my money. I absolutely love her.

Chelsea Castro I love luxe nails. I have been in the O for 10 Years and never found a tech who could manage how hard I am on my nails. I have tried every different nail application type (dip, acrylic, pink and white) and literally - I needed Luxe. Their product and technique is flawless and finely executed. Picture of the holiday nails is 2 weeks past (and still look so good - I got a compliment today!) and I will go in tomorrow and follow up with my new year set! Follow up pic with my fresh set! Karin Hecox I came in for a gel x fill. Tobi and Daniel not available. I normally LOVE how my nails turnout, but not this time. So another nail tech did my nails. I should have come back another day when Tobi or Daniel were there. Not at all happy with how they turned out. Not a smooth finish; flattened my nails out; no clean lines; I asked for thin french. Totally bummed.

Olivia DeRobbio I had an amazing experience at Luxe Nails with Tobi! I came in to get a soak off and a new Gel X full set while I was in Oceanside for my wedding. I had gotten an acrylic full set before flying out to CA, but unfortunately, one of my nails broke just four days before my wedding. I wasn’t thrilled with the set I had they were too thick and clearly didn’t last, but Tobi completely turned that around and made my bridal nail dreams come true! He was incredibly kind, patient, and took his time to ensure every detail was perfect. I felt so taken care of, and the nails turned out beautifully. Almost a week later, they still look as perfect as the first day. I’m so happy with the results and will definitely be back if Im ever in CA again! Highly recommend Tobi and Luxe Nails for anyone looking for top-notch nail care! 5 stars all the way!

Sara Tish Mikoczi Love this place. Everyone here is so kind and always helpful when I come. I always have Susan who is such a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and that is why I always go back to her. The place is an older building but always clean and they keep up the equipment, nail colors (note they are all gel at $15 more than listed price which they tell you), etc. Also, they prefer cash but if you use their atm, they give you back the atm charge ($8) at least for the atm in cash. So that is a nice bonus. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Note I usually get the second highest price pedicure with parrafin, extra oil massage, etc. for $55. The nail color removal and previous gel removal were included.

Tessa Agape Went in early in the morning sat there for over an hour getting a fill done. The young lady was rushed the whole time. I didn’t say anything to her until I saw that her eyelash appointment came in. I suggested to her very gently very kindly someone else should finish my nails so she could get to her appointment. She didn’t want to have someone else finish my nails and 5 minutes later when I saw my nail polish was coming out ugly ,again I said to her honey it’s OK I don’t mind if someone else finishes my nails I feel bad because your appointment is waiting for you. Next appointment rude lady walks over looks at my nails and looks at me like if I’m bothering her and walks away. then I’m told that rude upset lady is the one that’s going to finish my nails when she’s done with her client. So now I’m sitting there waiting for her to finish my nails And I’m looking at my nails and notice that there’s red glitter on my nails and there’s lint bubbling up my nail, so it’s not on the surface. It’s inside nail requiring someone to fix this now. The color that I want is a very clear pretty feminine pinkish color with this bubbling up lent and with this red glitter, that is not going to be something I can do without this other stuff popping out through the color. Also a pinky nail has a dent across the nail. I asked for the manager they told me the managers not there. I waited another five minutes, here’s my Saturday morning I have to leave I’m obviously dressed up nice I have somewhere to go and again i said I just need to speak to the manager and they denied me the manager. I told them I needed to be treated like the paid customer that I am. I told them I need my nails fixed and I need my nails to look pretty. They just uh huh me, no one said anything but uh-huh. I told told needed to see the manager so that they could fix my nails. The ladies were not even responding to me. I hope the manager can make this right.

Kimberly Lorraine I went in for dip powder, and asked for white(DD11) dip powder. The nail tech proceeded to paint my nails pink, and insisted it was the right color until I showed him on the nail card and he realized I had been repeatedly asking for 11. He said he’d fix it, which I appreciate! However I’m still pretty disappointed with the end product. He never asked how short I wanted my nails to be, didn’t correctly file them (some of my nails are jagged) and the polish itself is uneven/ doesn’t even go all the way to the cuticle. I feel like I’ve got week+ old nails after paying about 60$ to get them done, and I’m not sure how long they’ll actually hold up.

Tifo Hoang 0 stars if there was an option! CUSTOMERS BEWARE! THIS BUSINESS IS UNSANITARY AND INCOMPETENT! My daughter and I went to Revive since they accept walk-ins so that she could get the gel off her nails, and have her nails cut and cleaned up. Pretty simple, right? Apparently NOT! The male manicurist working at the 1st station on the left jumped from his current customers station (when she went to wash her hands for 1 minute) to work on my daughter, then jumped back to finish the other customer. After that customer left, he moved my daughter to his station and did her nails without sterilizing the equipment and cleaning up the area from the previous customer including using the SAME towel that he had used for the previous customer! He had pulled the clippers out of an Altoid box that was full of nail clippings and when he cut my daughters nails, her clippings were flying all over the place. I could tell that he was hurrying up to finish my daughter but didnt think anything of it and wasnt paying much attention when he was working on her nails since I figured he knew what he was doing. On the way home, my daughter showed me her fingers and told me all about what I mentioned above. He had absolutely ruined her nails by shaving off the top of her natural nails! Now her nails are dull looking and rough. She used to have such beautiful nails. I dont understand how a person / business can do this stuff and be able to sleep at night.

I made the mistake of getting my nails done elsewhere the last time cause he was fully booked for a day, and I will never do that again. I included 2 clips of the sets that Tony did. Will always return!!!

Paola Aracely Ilescas Really wanted to give a chance to this place, but my gel French manicure did not come out great. It chipped within the first 3 days and Ive had gel French manicures from other places last weeks. The shape of the arch wasnt great either. I will say the pedicures are amazing, the hot stone massages is so relaxing. I will be coming back for a solid color gel pedicure but NOPE on the manicure.

Laura Ollis **Review for Happiness Nails** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Happiness Nails while temporarily in town to care for my mother during her cancer treatments, and I couldnt be happier with my experience! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and taken back without an appointment. I was fortunate to be attended to by a talented nail tech named Jason. Jason was incredibly kind and attentive, taking the time to understand exactly what I wanted. I requested Christmas-themed designs, and he exceeded my expectations! His artistic skills are truly remarkable; he hand-painted beautiful snowflakes and intricate details on my nails that looked as if they were stickers. The shape of my nails was perfect, just as I had envisioned. At one point, when Jason and I didn’t quite understand each other, Lily, another nail tech, stepped in to assist. Her help ensured we were all on the same page, which made the process even smoother. I truly appreciated their teamwork and commitment to making sure I was happy with the final result. It impressed me was that Jason effortlessly matched the red polish to my toes, which were already painted from when I was home, on the first try! It’s clear that he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his clients. If youre looking for a place to get your nails done, especially with festive designs, I highly recommend Happiness Nails and Jason. My nails look absolutely amazing, and I left feeling pampered and delighted. Thank you, Jason and Lily, for making my day brighter!

Tricia T I will not return, the guy that did mine was so rude to me. Never spoke to me except to repeatably tell me to NOT MOVE! He kept twisting and turning my fingers and scolding me. I have never had an experience like this it was terrible. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. At the end he had me hold my hands up side down in front of a tiny fan and left to torment someone else. 20 minutes later he never returned or even looked my way. Truely a nightmare experience! He was at table 1. I have never been told I move or been treated so unkindly and I paid for it!! I left a tip but really regretted it after I left! I can’t recommend this place. Spend your money where you have a good experience! Anywhere else! I got an acrylic nail fill.

Lindsay Gag V Nail salon is the best! After years of salon hopping I finally found my spot last year and have been consistently going back for fills and pedicures and am always very happy with the results. The owner, Steve educated me about bio gel and over the last year, helped me grow my natural nails super long. For a past acrylics user this was so exciting! Steve, Fawn and the staff are all so kind and skilled. My nails have never looked better and I always receive compliments on them!

Ayesha Mohammad This is gel nails (with some builder gel at the base) but all length is my natural nails! ✨ I loved how much effort the staff put into how my nails were done! Firstly, he made sure to talk with me about what I wanted and made sure to look at all of the details were exactly what I pictured! He even helped me match the colors to the reference! Secondly: he took care of my natural nails when removing the previous set I had and preserving the length (something I’d expressed I’d wanted). He even put on some builder gel since my nails were quite thin and explained what he was doing and why so I would be informed! I feel so fortunate to have found this lil gem! They really have fostered trust and respect with their community and I can see it in all of the people who came in while I was there. There were quite a few regulars!

Melissa Domingo Went here for a gel x and it was horrible. I live in Orange County and have a normal lady but thought since I work in Carlsbad let me stop in. Biggest mistake I made. She didn’t match the nails to my finger size. They didn’t even last a week and popped off 5 days later. 65$ for gel x, 20dollars more than I normally pay especially since I don’t get them long is ridiculous. What a waste of money. My ring finger is infected from the carelessness. And they didn’t even last a week. I wasted money for sure. Disappointed my experience wasn’t like everyone else’s. After I got my eyebrow waxed and the lady dripped wax al in my hair and face. So careless. Then making smart remarkers why I have long eyelashes and there to long. Will never go again

Nessa M Unfortunately disappointed with my experience. The lady doing my nails cut my cuticle to where I was bleeding. The color I chose was not the color I ended up with. They said the color you choose is not always what’s in the bottle so it can come out differently. So basically the color you choose that you want may or may not be what you get. I never get my nails done, this was a little treat to myself for getting a new job. Just super bummed out. :/ For reference: I asked for DD196. Darker shade and no glitter. What I ended up with was clearly a lighter shade and has glitter in it.

Samera Taki First time here; disappointed The salon is nice. Quiet, with peaceful nature videos on the TV. Cleanish... acrylic nail bits were just swept onto the floor and bottles were partially open. But the table and seat were fine. I got Gel Ex for the first time. Ive gotten my nails done a handful of times in the last 5 years, so Im no expert. But there was no cleaning of my nails before or after buffing, and the first coat of glue/polish was just applied on top of the dust from the buffing. Also, when she cut my natural nails beforehand, she just cut them straight across and did not cut/file the edges of my natural nails. I had to ask for the edges to be smoothed and evened out multiple times, and even then had to fix the sides myself where it was still rough and my natural nail was not filed to blend into the gel ex (as they had not initially been filed). There is also a small air bubble on one nail and a several "balder" spots where the polish was not applied evenly. She did my cuticles very gently, but they are not even and one finger has the base glue/polish extending into my cuticle. She also did the primary shape of the gel ex with great care, doing a short almond shape as I requested. Overall I was there for 1.5 hours. Im not sure if they are inexperienced in gel ex; if Im correct its a relatively new method for the industry. But for $65 (for just plain color, no design) I would have liked nails that I could walk out of the salon with and feel good going straight to a formal event-I did not. I had to finished the filing myself and I feel the need to buy a similar polish to cover the gaps. From other review pictures, that beautiful, perfect manicure look is achieved at this salon; but those manicures must not have been gel ex. I am hopeful that these will at least stay for a few weeks and give me some of my moneys worth, since I picked gel ex for the longevity. Edit: Im dropping my review from 2 stars to 1 because it has been 5 hours since I got my nails done and one already broke. Second edit: the nails were not great, but the shade was pretty so I figured I would keep them and see how long they lasted; I did not expect 5 hours. Not wanting to risk other nails being broken, I returned to the salon the next day to get the gel ex removed and was met by rude customer service. The nail tech who removed my gel ex was the same one who saw my review. He refused to refund me for the botched job, which I politely accepted without argument. Despite this, he seemed personally offended by my review; I had tried to word it nicely, pointing out both good and bad. Still, he initially disagreed with my request to just get the nails removed. He insisted they were nice, then said he didnt see any air bubbles (he had already cut that part off). I understand that negative reviews are not what any business wants, however the solution to this is not to try to convince a customer that their opinion of a poor service is wrong. He told me that nails done at salons break often, and that I wouldnt know this, since, per my review, I dont get my nails done very often. This is true; I dont get my nails done often. But I have gotten them done before with acrylics. Im also an adult with the ability to think logically, so I knew it was strange and probably bad form when, during my actual nail appointment the day before, my first nail tech buffed my nails, did not wipe them, and then applied the adhesive directly on top of the dust produced from the buffing. I also knew, from both experience and common sense, that professional nail salons should not be adding so much adhesive that it oozes onto the cuticle, should not be doing cuticles so poorly that they look worse than before, and should not apply polish messily along the edges of the nail. I also know that Ive never had an acrylic nail break like this before, and so quickly. So: $65 for worse nails than at home. They did a bad job and did not own up to it. The bad job was enough for a negative review; the bad customer service was enough to keep me away forever.

Lindsey Thuell Lovely spa. The relaxation area is open air to the ocean so you can sit and watch and listen to the waves before and after your treatment. It’s a smaller spa and all the areas are coed (so robe/swimsuit required) which doesn’t bother me. I got a really awesome 60 minute basic facial and it was a bit on the pricey side. However, my provider Sarah was fantastic and knowledgeable. All the product is top tier and high end and my face felt cleansed and super moisturized. I would come here again.

Cami Ciaramitaro Its a beautiful, tranquil, and opulent experience at Sunnys Spa! I have had some of the most amazing massages of my life there! Most recently, Amanda did an incredible 90 min massage and Sarah gave me a facial that made my skin GLOW!!! I couldnt recommend this spa more! If you were on the fence, its definitely worth spending the day here looking out over the beautiful Oside pier!

Garrett Bubnack From the warm welcome at the front desk , to the most beautiful lounge space and amenities ~my experience at Sunny’s Spa was 5/5. The massage therapist was very knowledgeable, well practiced, and friendly! The massage room had the nicest table. It adjusted in so many different ways to fit my perfect comfort level . The sauna and eucalyptus shower was next level luxury. I will definitely be coming back . Marissa made me feel so welcomed and taken care of . Definitely fell even more in love with the Seabird resort today . Thank you!

Chloe Watkins I grew out my nails long so I could get the inspo photo that I brought in and showed her several times. It started with a pedi that was painful and she cut my toe so bad she made me bleed and said it was my fault for having short toe nails. After my pedi, I sat down to have a manicure and had the I inspiration photo on the desk for her to reference the entire time. She cut my nails so short and started filing them. When she showed me the first nail I asked if she could make it more of a point and so she proceeded to file my nails down to nubs. She struggled to finish the white tip and had someone else step in. I could tell the other stylist could tell she botched my nails. Super bummed about this and my fingers and toes are in pain from being cut so short. Oh yeah, my mani and pedi also took 3 hours to finish. I’ve gone twice before and asked for the same thing. Even used the same inspo photo and loved how they came out in the past! Sadly, I probably won’t be returning.

F Daminion “Dee” Tried to give this place a chance. The first time I went I got a manipedi asked for square french nails and ended up with almost duckbill nails. Asked her to keep fixing them and she brushed it off. When I returned to get the color fixed the next woman looked at them and said she would fix them since it was pretty bad(the shape) and that the whole nails were peeling off and kept commenting on how bad it was. Mind you this was a full acrylic set so why is the entire mail coming up like a press on? She did it perfectly so thank God for her. I went back just to get the color changed recently and ended up being serviced by the first woman who did my nails bad the first time. They were busy so I figured how can you mess up a color change? It should be fine. She changed the color after they kept saying I needed a fill which I didnt because the other woman had just done my nails the week prior. In the end I was charged $25 for a color change! I wont be back

Aurora literally love my nails so much and prices are so affordable. my acrylics were done by Van, definitely getting her again she was amazing! Thuy did the manicure which was also amazing and she was so sweet.

Maria Christie I AM LOYAL TO MARY! I refuse to go anywhere else to get my nails done after finding this salon. I live 35 minutes away and gladly will make the drive if I’m not nearby. Prices are wonderful and so is the customer service. First salon I have chosen to stay loyal to because of how well Mary does my nails. At times they last past a month and I’ll get compliments up to my next set.

Lauren Castonguay I’ve been here many many times and the quality is usually good, but today I received one of the worst manicures I’ve ever had. Maybe it was an off day for the nail technician but I don’t feel like it’s good customer service to let your client leave the salon with this as the final product. At $50 plus tip, it’s not worth risking it again, I will probably have to look elsewhere.

Brooklyn Beatty My fav nail spot! They always do such an amazing job on my pedicures and full sets. I was really pleased that I was able to bring in my own gel polish for them to use on my acrylics! Its a jelly shade Ive wanted to use for a while but dont have a UV lamp at home. The staff is very kind and accommodating, plus its a small crew so I see the same faces every visit. Absolutely love this nail salon

Lindsey Anne Ken is an absolute artist. After a TERRIBLE experience at another nail salon, which I won’t even get into, Ken was able to fit me in for a set of gel x nails with design. He was so lovely, we had a great conversation, and my nails came out AMAZINGLY. I wanted to do them with a theme of the elements for my Alchemy of the Elements birthday party that weekend. To say he nailed it is an understatement. His work was incredible. Every single nail design was amazing. And he did it for HALF the price that the other, terrible place had quoted me. Cannot recommend Ken highly enough. He is absolutely my new go to for nails!

Angela C Ken does a great job. I have been in twice now and his service is great. I do notice some of my nails are a little crooked and I think that maybe he was a little rushed since he was very busy but I appreciate that he is extremely friendly and keeps his appointments better than other nail salons. He is great at designs so if that is your thing I would recommend him!! As for the pedicure, it was well done but the amount they try to upsell you is is A LOT. My friend and I had nearly identical experience where Tina asked about 5-6 times to add or upgrade the pedicure services so it was a little uncomfortable. When I go I will only see Ken.

jessica pliego I got these done one week ago Friday. I go in and they say 5$ to remove gel she charged me 10 at checkout she said it took longer so it’s more. She quoted me $43 for dip then at checkout charged me $53 because the $43 was cash price and didn’t disclose that so I paid 15$ more and left $5 tip I paid over $70 for this to last a week ABSURDDDDDD the lady in the front was rude and seemed like she didn’t want the business I should have walked out! Taylor Lynn I didn’t have an appointment, i just walked in and got a spa pedicure and a full gel x set. There was no wait, the salon is large so even tho they had quite a few clients, i was seen right away. I had a female tech do my pedicure and a male tech do my nails and both were fantastic. It was quick, efficient, the conversation was effortless and not forced, both were very friendly and personable. My nails turned out perfect. I will definitely be back.

Bria Andrade I’ve been going here for 3 years and had the most horrifying experience today. I have an acrylic overlay over my natural nail and asked for a pretty simple fill, my acrylic ended up needing to be redone because it lifted which is fine. When John removed the acrylic he used a tip to pry it off, which hurt sooo bad and he even cut me (they normally soak it off). After that he trimmed 3 of my nails down before I could notice, I stopped him and told him I wanted almond and he said it’s fine we’ll just put tips, I can’t get tips, I use my hands/nails at work and tips always snap off. So I had to cut down all of my nails that I’d been growing out for a year. He didn’t even try to match the shape on each nail, they’re bumpy and acrylic was left all over my fingers. When I got to the front I said I really don’t think it’d be fair for me to pay this because it’s not at all what I came in for and I had a horrible experience- I was essentially swarmed around by 3 men (John, the guy at the front desk, and the owner) and told I had to pay at least half. I felt super threatened, especially being a woman surrounded by 3 men. I’ve attached photos - orange tips is what I asked for, the one with black hearts is how long my nails were before getting them done, and the short pink ones are what I left the salon with today and had to pay for. It was an extremely disappointing experience especially as a loyal customer. I highly recommend not coming to this place, but if you still decide to please do yourself a favor and avoid John.

Kate Kesling Mani/pedi with gel polish done beautifully!!! I apologize as I did not get the name of the lady that did my toes but they look great. Did my own all summer and she made them look so pretty! I chose the option with scrub, callous treatment and massage. Well worth the upgrade. I promise. My feet are like a baby bottom. I was then sat with Amy for my manicure. She did the most beautiful natural gel manicure. She is very gentle. I am a farm girl visiting from Washington State and my hands & feet get abused. These ladies made me feel like a girl again. They got me right in on a Friday morning. Salon is clean and welcoming.

Kimmi Austin Been coming here since January 2018. Nice place good prices nails actually LAST and they dont give you BS when you want nail designs. The only downside is that when you make an appointment (and you NEED TO they are very busy) expect to wait up to 15-20 minutes after your appointment time to get in the chair. This is due to how busy they are and how dedicated they are to making nice nails that last.

I hadn’t had acrylics since before the pandemic but I remember it being far worse than my experience with Michelle. So really impressed. The salon does have a very very strong smell and the decor is amusing. Lots of lights! But I was seen without an appointment immediately on a Wed morning and everyone was cheerful. And the nails look terrific! Best set I’ve ever had. Very good experience for the price and no appt.

heather schultz I came back to joshlyn after being out of the area for eight years and man did she not disappoint! I hated my nails and how curvy they were and she did an amazing job in fixing them, I will continue to go back to her even if I have to make the hour an half drive. It’s totally worth it. Anna did my pedicure and she was amazing as well! They are extremely busy so make sure you make an appointment or else you’ll be disappointed.

Ashley Campbell Highly recommend Mimi at Pearl Nails and Spa in Carlsbad! I have been going to Mimi for about 10 years now and she has always impressed me. I generally go in with photo ideas and ask her for very specific designs. She has NEVER failed me. I leave with a smile on my face every single time. I just went for a full acrylic set last week, for my engagement nails. I showed Mimi photos and she gave me the most incredible white sugar French tip nails! My engagement photos came out amazing thanks to Mimi! I’m a very satisfied customer! :)

Alisha Flanders Went in for gel mani and pedi. Was told dip was better for nails and I expressed that I had it done there back in 2020 which was my 1st and only visit. I told her I didn’t care for it as my nails were very thick. She promised nails wouldn’t be thick and would look natural so I went with it per our discussion. Assuming dip is more expensive. I also said because of my line of work I can’t have them too long but did want some length. When she was done my nails were thick and too long. She argued with me that they weren’t thick and I said they were. Made it uncomfortable as she removed some of the thickness off and spoke in her language clearly pissed, while I shouldn’t assume, talking about me. She then put a coat of gel on top and cured it. Might as well have gotten the gel nails to begin with but what I was really wanting was the tap gel that they do not offer. Long story short, I filed my nails down myself so after paying $60 it’s kinda ridiculous. Color match not even close. Hot pink on hands and more red pink on toes. I won’t be going back. Oh and she announced the tips across the salon when she received in which I was still generous for the service received. Strike number 2 and there will not be a third.

Angela G Don’t waste your time or money on this place. They are not up front with their pricing. I walked in on a Sunday, waited 30 minutes to get a chair . I got a mediocre pedicure that was just not enjoyable at all. The tech hardly did anything on the cuticles. The nail polish looked like I had 99 cent store press on nails on my toes, the entire mail was not painted. They proceeded to do my gel manicure while doing my pedicure, I hate that but thought what the hell I need it done. The gel manicure was fine but as I went to pay, they say, that will be $5 extra because they took off existing gel off half my fingers , 2 had no polish at all. Why are they charging $5 to take off my existing gel and why do they not tell you up front about these charges. You are nail techs, isn’t taking off and putting on polish your job? I won’t be going back. I did tip them for the services I received but it was just bad. Not to mention , they say a lady next to me that would not stop talking about her itchy legs and skin conditions. Omg

Amy Kha Manicures and pedicures are a special treat for me...I get them MAYBE once or twice a year, if that. With that being said, this was the best experience Ive had in a long time. I have never laughed so hard while getting a pedicure before. The new owner, Cindy, took her time and gave me the best pedicure I have ever had...Im obsessed! I have dry, cracked heels and dry cracked toes (no amount of lotion seems to help), and she diligently took care of it all. She was still working on my feet after my husband finished his mani/pedi! Tina, originally from Luxe Nails down the street, took care of him, and he was super happy with his nails being cleaned lol. He works a trade job, so it wont last long, but he enjoyed being pampered for sure. Tina has worked on me before, and she is amazing as well. I didnt get the name of the last lady who did my manicure, but she was funny as heck. Found my new nail place, and I might treat myself more often with how much fun I had here!

The insides of my nails were not cleant properly after they were done so that’s a little weird. I was surprised that my nails were not prepped before putting in the acrylics. Elsa Solis Emmy and Jenny have been my go to nail ladies for the past 10 years. They listen to you and are very respectful and accommodating. Their customer service is excellent. I’ve been getting my nails done for 25 years! I am very grateful to have found Golden’s Nails for their comfortable atmosphere and genuine customer service. This has been my happy place on a weekly basis for the past 3 years. Jenny gives the best hand massages and pedicures with hot stones while massaging my feet and legs! Emmy is the best at threading and giving soothing manicures! Soon I will be bringing my daughter to enjoy a manicure. She has special needs and I’m confident that she’ll receive the best service from these great ladies. They are always very patient and understanding with elder clients that need special assistance and extra time. This is actually the first time I take the time to write a review. These ladies deserve it.

Nikki Camarena Closest nail salon to my house so I thought I would give it a try. They did not have much to choose from for gel acrylic colors. I like shiny and glitter I had to pick a plain color. My nail shape was coffin but they were a bit uneven from the other hand. She didnt even paint the color and clear coat all the way to my cuticles.(so it already started to look like I need a fill.) Ill drive a bit farther next time

Alexis McCrimmon I have been going to this location and specifically to Daniel for 13+ years. He has consistently been an example in my nail world, and I always find myself coming back even if I cheated on him with other nail people. New location reminds me of Vegas, I love it - clean, friendly, and always responsive. I have never been pushed to get more when I say what I want, I have never left with a bad experience. I appreciate knowing if I have had a long day I can come here and not have to worry about how my nails will come out, on the other side of the token, I know if I want something different or there is a problem then I can say something without feeling judged or talked about once I leave. Carley May I’ve been here a couple of times now. The first time was ok despite the wait. The second time it took over three hours for a basic pedi and fill. The paint looks acceptable but the shapes and lengths do not match. They are now all lifting and falling off in chunks where they were last filled. My hair gets stuck in them, super disappointed and I won’t be coming back. My toes did come out ok but the tech acted like she understood me but did not. I tip well and am very understanding but this was a waste of time and money for me.

Yessenia Baeza First time coming here and I will definitely come back. Its hard to find a good place when you are from out of town and Tracy was great. We also had two kids pedi and one adult pedi and a childs mani and they all enjoyed it as well. Whole staff were accommodating and super friendly!!

Nerissa Zhang I visited Royal Nails in Oceanside last night after a friend initially recommended another salon, but their poor reviews led me to look elsewhere. Royal Nails had higher ratings, so I assumed it would be a better experience—but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. From the moment I walked in, the service was lacking. The real issue came at the end of my appointment. Instead of the usual finishing touches—like a proper application of lotion—the technician simply threw on some cuticle oil and told me to wash my hands and leave. It felt rushed and impersonal. The technician who did my pedicure was fantastic—she took her time, and the results were great. However, Tina, who did my nails, fell short in both service and professionalism. While the nails themselves turned out fine, she was rough during the process and even made one of my nails bleed. Rather than acknowledging or cleaning it, she just kept going as if nothing had happened. It genuinely felt like she didn’t want me there. Overall, I won’t be returning, and I honestly don’t understand how this salon has four-star reviews. If you’re looking for great service and attention to detail, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Maygen Sutton I went in for an appointment at 2pm and they didn’t do anything for me except put the nails on. There are bubbles under my nails and they are already coming off. They did not push back my cuticle or do anything else so it already looks like a weeks worth of growth even though it’s been 2 days! When I asked why they didn’t do anything to my cuticles they said they didn’t have time and still charged full price.

Delora C Nice atmosphere, it did not smell of nails as you walked in you could breathe without fumes . I have not had other services but first pedicure which was good. So will try out other services and review . ( I’m a qualified nail tech and manicurist- so like to get pampered every now and then rather than do it myself ) First visit made me want to go back again.

Nichole Fincannon I should have viewed recent reviews before coming here. I used to come here frequently over five years ago when I lived in the area. I used to get full sets and have my cuticles pushed back, trimmed, cleaned up. I got a full set and pedicure yesterday. The full set only consisted of nails and French tip, no cuticle care. Before leaving I had the man file the underside of my nails as they were incredibly sharp still. It wasnt until I left that I realized how much extra polish was all over my skin and how dry my nails looked. Thankfully I had nail polish remover and cuticle oil at home.

I love that I can walk in & they are accommodating and accurate on the times someone can see me. I picked a color that was a little too pink and I mentioned I wanted more of a natural nude and Amy knew exactly what I was looking for. I almost don’t want anyone to know because I want to keep it all to myself, but sharing is caring and I believe great businesses and people should be highlighted. Wendy T Just left here i told them 3 times I wanted a manicure once when I walked in again when I sat down for my pedicure and a one of the people who worked there asked me what kind of manicure I wanted so that would be the 3rd time I told him. Needless to say No one did my manicure. They ignored me and a lady walked in a hour later and they put two people on her Will never get my money again. This is the second time I shouldnt have given them a second chance.

Charlotte Williams Had a wonderful experience here with Amy! I asked for gradient blue french tips (acrylic) and she did an amazing job! I had square nails before and was looking to try a new shape and she did exactly what I pictured! I’m literally obsessed with how good they look and she did a perfect if not better job than the inspo picture I showed her!! Would 100/10 recommend this place for a cute manicure and the prices are super reasonable as well! They are super sweet and detailed and always check to make sure you like the shape, color, and design before solidifying it so you don’t feel anxious to speak up about it if it isn’t how you like. My friend and I went as walk ins and we were immediately warmly welcomed and multiple staff assisted us with choosing what type of polish we wanted for our pedicures. The ladies who did our pedicures were so sweet and always made sure to ask if we were ok, if the temperatures were right and whatnot. Very pleased with our experience today! I also love coming here to get a full acrylic set with french tip design. They always make my nails look perfect and make sure I am happy with the finished product.

I went back right away to the salon and addressed my concerns. They immediately sat me down and applied a new clear coat to all my nails and fixed the issue at no charge! Nice and shiny. They are always so kind and exceed expectations.

Nobody can ever make them as gorgeous and last longing without lifting like she can. She always fits me in and she’ll make time each time I break a nail. Iris Martinez Went in because reviews were good. I asked for Gel X, which they were able to do. However, the lady that was doing my nails did not size right. Had to redo one of my fingers about 3 times. Each time she was trying to file down my nail until my nail was sore. She did not clean up under my nails and I had glue all over. I managed to clean them when I got home. There is an insane amount of glue in every nail. Pictures below. (Do not mind the red, I had red polish before)

Diana They do not charge the prices listed. The quality of work is not the greatest. On several occasions nails start to break within 24 to 48 hours after service performed. Technicians do not speak English and have to involve others to carry out simple conversation. At the beginning of the service I was given different price by the technician and at the end he charged me $20 more then for what we agreed on. Environment was uncomfortable and it was very hot and stuffy too as they dont use air conditioning and dont have enough fans to accommodate all the customers. For the price the experience should be much better. They did make improvements to the environment which made it feel much more comfortable.

T.A Wolff I really dont like leaving bad reviews, but after paying $70 for a full set and having my set start falling off after only 3 days was very upsetting. 2 starts for the lady being nice, but I asked for stiletto, but looks more like an almond shape, I had to ask to reshape some of the nails because they were uneven. I asked for cat-eye polish, But you cant really tell its cat Eye. When I hope my hands up to the sun You can see right through the polish. Even after reading some of the bad reviews, I wanted to give this place a chance. Unfortunately it will be my first and last time coming. Even though I was the only customer I still felt like it was rushed and they didnt really care much to see if the nails were all evenly cut or shaped. Even after Asking to have some of the nails reshaped. I still had to end up going home and shaping my nails myself. In less than a week the rest of my nails came off.

Jess Visiting my family in Carlsbad who told me this is her favorite nail salon. We walked in on a busy Sunday and they saw us both within 10-20 minutes. I asked for short almond acrylics and they came out very nice. This is my first time getting acrylic, I’ve only gotten tips with dip before. The manicurist didn’t try to upsell me on any services which I appreciate because I don’t want paraffin or massage or anything.

mekakay Lee I took my kids to Barnes and Noble thought I would get my nails done while I am out. I stood at the door for a few minutes until they decided they could see me. A guy finished a ladies feet then comes to the table. I hoped he washed his hands when he walked to the back to go talk and grab a bite of food. This experience was horrible I couldnt wait to get out of there that Man was so rough! He burned me twice the cut me so deep blood was dripping out! You know he didnt even stop to put something on it! He says something in their language and she said put alcohol on it! Seriously! I asked for a coffin shape that I always get he told me he would do square for me thats not what I ask for! He did the Ugliest thick square nails I hate them and I have a very painful cut that Im watching for infection. They got gel polish all over my cut as if it wasnt there. One of the ladies offered to fix my nails but after that experience would you give them the chance to hurt you more?! I paid 50$ for the worst nails Ive ever had in my life!!

Gloria Calvache If I can give 0 stars I would. It was my first time getting my nails done there and to request for a fill to my ombré nails. I am in the Marines and with being in the service it is critical and important to obey and uphold the standards and regulations when it comes to grooming standards. I pick out the closest color to my nails for that natural look and only to be informed 30 minutes in they do not do ombré nails. It was shocking to me considering the fact I have never heard of a nail salon that does not do ombré but only gel and / or acrylic. The man that did my nails one kept scratching his head and resumed doing my nails at the same time. He was well aware that my nails were ombré designed and chose to color the whole nail and didn’t think I would say anything. I informed him to keep the white because it is an ombré looking I’m looking for. He then tells me it’s too late and so I start pulling back frustrated for wasted time and money. Then one of the ladies came to the desk and said “sorry. We don’t do ombré.” But yet still charged me $40 for the worse nails. Now I have to go to work tomorrow and explain to my chain of command why my nails are not appropriate in the work place. If the employees were that apologetic they shouldn’t have either charged me for the nails I didn’t want or at least try to fix it to where it looks appropriate and not half done

UceBa Deuce I’ve been coming here for about 4 years since we moved to Oceanside. Although the staff is very nice and welcoming, what I don’t appreciate is that at least 3x I have made an appointment, get there on time and I’m still waiting 15-20 minutes past my appointment time. I get it that things happen but taking “walk-ins over appointments made” have been happening more lately than usual. I had some where I needed to be and asked for a gel manicure and gel pedicure but because they took a walk-in a few mins before my appointment time, the expectation was I wait even though I made an appointment and was on time. There was even another young lady who was waiting for a pedicure at her appointment time but was also told she had to wait so I saw her leave and in the parking lot she told me she is a regular but after today might go elsewhere. I ended up leaving as well because no one else was available for another 10-20 minutes. I found another location who had an opening right away and I was happier with my gel manicure and gel pedicure, which is where I’ll be going from now on.

If you are looking for that life-changing experience, this may not be your place, but if you want a place that is quick, clean and efficient, Happiness Nails on College would be your place. Janel S She rushed through my gel manicure and stopped in the middle of doing my nails to check her phone not once but TWICE. Worst French tip gel manicure I’ve ever had. It looks like garbage. Lines aren’t straight (there wavy), and she didn’t even file my nails straight across. My thumb nail is significantly slanted on the left side. Update: not even one week later and one of them peeled off and another is chipped.

Deena I was recommended Perfect Nails by a friend. Since moving to San Diego County, I have had a really hard time finding a decent nail place. All I want is a pedicure and gel manicure that is not going to cost an arm and a leg. I went to Leslie for my Gel Manicure and Judy for my pedicure. I am sold on the place and love that Leslie has the matching gel colors with regular nail polish so its the exact same color. I used to get bothered when you had to figure out what was the closest color to match the gel. Judy is very good and sweet. Now I make sure to schedule my appointment for the same two people every two weeks. I noticed this place has low ratings but I am to understand Leslie took over the shop. Please give this place another try if you have had a bad experience in the past.

Terri Eliazar-Stevens I’m sorry to have write a one star review. But since moving to So Cal. The struggle is real to find a good not great nail tech. These nail shops don’t take much pride in their work anymore just the money and what kind of pedicure you want. I have been here for just mani and pedis with no color and this past weekend I was headed to Vegas for a birthday weekend and this happened too nails chipped before we even got there. By the end of my concert I lost a gel polish completely on my index finger. Where I don’t know and this morning Just picking up food at a restaurant my ring finger gel Polish just came off. Our price for my husband and Me was 172.00 plus 30 dollars tip and I didn’t get I day with the damn polish. I am beyond irritated for the dismissive attitude of the nail tech. Cause yes I did call the day after to let her know what happened. She had the audacity to tell me that after 33 years of doing nails this never happened to her. Hmm I going to beg to differ since I am a former cosmetologist. For these prices that nail salon charges I’ll be searching yet for another nail salon.

Brandon Keaton Awesome place, especially if you have an electric car . I charge my car and get my nails done and then come again to charge my car and get my pedicure . You have to figure out what to do when you have to wait a 45 minutes for your car to charge you have to start planning better. “Vicky”does my nails and she is good with the tools. Amy Feeley I NEVER write bad reviews…but I feel like I had to this time! I have been to this salon in the past many times…my experience is always hit or miss. But because of convenience with it being so close to my house I sometimes end up there…today was the last time! I was treated so rudely I am still in shock! I had dip on my nails previously from there and I didn’t like it and wanted to go back to gel…she kept insisting I do the dip polish instead! I think they push this for many reasons…they charge more, easier application, and you definitely have to come back to get it removed. So after we agreed I wanted gel instead she started removing it. I was yelled at several times for my fingers popping up when one is pushed down which is what my hands do naturally and then she was very rough with my fingers bending them in ways they are not supposed to be bent. I was not gonna sit there and be verbally and physically abused for an hour! So I told her I changed my mind and just wanted the removal done. She kept asking several times why and I just said I changed my mind. After it was removed I paid and left. All the nail techs in there know me for always being very nice, making conversation, and tipping well. I’m the type of person who is too nice to a fault. I for sure will NEVER return to this establishment again! And I will make the drive to La Costa where I’m treated kindly and they do an AMAZING job.

The next day two of my nails came off and the others felt like they were going to fall off if I put pressure to them. Called and hope said I could come in right away and she would take care of me. She gave me really cute pearls that made the nails look 10x better ( terrible paint job and see through, you could see bubbles and want filed correctly near the cuticle. ) I was satisfied when I left but the next day (today) all my nails came off after taking my shower. I cannot believe I paid 150, 250 bucks in total because I got my toes done as well ( bad experience as well) I am livid. I will never ever go back to this place. The price was ridiculous. I felt like I got my toes done by someone they just hired without any experience which doesn’t make sense because she said she worked there for three years!! Really want to talk to the owner because they are definitely jacking peoples money for crappy nail work!

Taylor Wiestling I’ve been going to Tina for about 5 years now because she does the most durable set of acrylics I’ve ever had. Her sister, Helen, works at this salon with her and is equally as talented. For my most recent set, Tina did the short coffin shape exactly how I wanted, and Helen did the beautiful airbrush/ombré design. If you come here asking for either one of them, you will not be disappointed!

Molly Mullaney Just went there last week for the first time in years. The new management is so warm and welcoming. They make you feel right at home and really go above and beyond taking care of their clients. Helen did my nails (tap gel). She gave me exactly what I asked for and was so kind, patient and took her time. I really appreciate their customer service in making sure I was happy with my nails. I will definitely be back.

I went in for a SIMPLE nail removal of my acrylics and the lady removing my acrylics was being so rough and aggressive which left my nails in pain. Never have I ever received this type of treatment for a SIMPLE nail removal. I will not be a returning customer. If you’re looking to get your acrylics off, you’re better off doing it yourself at home. I would not trust this place.

Luz Helena Thompson Health standards not followed. I asked the nail tech to change her gloves after watching her clean out a pedicure chair and bowl from the last customer and she would not. She instead ran her hands under the sink and said no. I would NOT go here and I do not recommend this nail studio. Just a matter of time before someone gets an infection, sick, or worse. Also: made an appointment and waited over an hour with my feet sitting in a bow of water before they bagan. Terrible service.

Ken Wall I went in Tuesday for a walk in. Service was okay. Customer service could improve. 48 hours after getting serviced I noticed I have contact dermatitis. This could have been avoided by acrylic and monomer being left on my skin. She also didn’t use sterilized tools nor new un used hand files. Was wanting to give hope on this place but I will not be back and will have to go to a dermatologist now for this.

M. A. This place has a modern/Vintage vibe to it. Their super clean and seem to have sterilize all there materials. They have the trendiest nail polishes from shelf to rack. As well as a broad variety of gel collections. I only wish they would not charge you for every little thing. But I do have to admit they are worth it.

Arisandi Avelar I went in to get a pedicure. The women that did it looked middle aged. She was excessively cutting my cuticles on my toe and I literally moved my foot back and looked at it and said that it hurt and she had absolutely no concern, didn’t even say a thing. She also never asked me if I was okay during the pedi at all. My friend came along with me and they said it would be a 15 min wait. It took them 30 minutes to start my friends manicure and told the other clients coming in it would be a 15 min wait everytime which was a lie. Do not recommend.

Elizabeth Hidalgo I dont really know how to describe this place. I went 1 time the owner shes not friendly, had my nails done she cut me 2 times, she didnt even said sorry. I pulled my hand I was bleeding a little. Since I had them done there. I gave it one more chance. Nothing changed. I will not be returning.

Elizabeth M Matheny This place is absolutely terrible. I walked in and asked to have my acrylics removed. I sat down and she was just going to peel them off. They’re fairly new I’ve only had them a week and a half but since we are moving next week I needed to have them removed. I know that it is not healthy for your nail to have them peeled off so I kindly ask if they could do the soak method, they stated that they don’t do that there. What professional nails salon does not soak off acrylics? I’m sure that they just choose to do the peel method because it’s quicker. They surely don’t care whether or not it affects the health of your nail.
