Heather Pujals Called on a Wednesday and got a convenient same-day appointment for gel mani-pedi. The staff was very friendly and I felt welcome. The service took about 1 hour total and I’m super happy with the results! There was some hand/arm massage, foot exfoliation, and a foot wax, which all felt nice. I’ll be back. Btw I had gel on my toes (from another salon) and regular glitter paint on my hands and they removed both without an extra charge. My total charge was $76 (slight cash discount — I was quoted $80 over the phone, which I assume is for credit cards).

Joan Alley My sister and I made a last minute appointment and we wanted paraffin. We were happy to find out that they have a special until 2 $35 for mani AND pedi Monday thru Thursday. The paraffin is $10, well worth it. Very comfy and clean and they are friendly and do a great job! We will be back!

Jen Trent I really wanted to like this place. I even drove about 10 minutes to get there. Upon walking in there was only 1 other patron. They told me to pick my color and I was rushed to come to take a seat so I settled with what I had in my hand. The price for a "regular" mani-pedi was $35, which is a pretty good price, but they only did the bare minimum basics. They might have scrubbed my feet once - back and forth. No massage as advertised. I also asked for a callus treatment which was $10 extra, which they charged me for, but did not get. I wish I said something when he said my total was $45. The paraffin wax was on my feet for maybe 2 minutes before she took it off and rushed to paint my toes. When I was leaving, I asked that she clean up the polish around my toes, especially my pinky toes, because it really looked like I painted them myself, with the polish all over my skin. Youll see in the picture how much she got off my skin. She did ask if I like the color when she painted one of my fingernails, in which I didnt. Luckily I chose another color for my toes and just had her use that because when I asked for a different color (purple), she said, oh this is purple - but it was more of a deep pink. So I settled and also didnt say anything. The total time that they spent from start to finish painting my nails was under 30 min. I expected at least 45 minutes. They also were not too friendly and welcoming, and I believe I am and always greet and talk with people. Even though this service was poor, I still tipped 20%. I wish I did not. Im still going to give them 2 stars, as this is a small business, but I really think my rating should be a 1 star.

Marc Fernandez WORST HAIRCUT EVER. STAY AWAY. Im a guy with thick wavy hair and had been growing it out from a buzz cut for the past 6 months. My goal was to get to a layered shoulder length 70s kinda cut and I was half way there. I went to this salon in Potrero Hill because it was near my house and had a good haircut review from a guy. When I got to the salon, I was promptly seated and showed the stylist 3 different photos of my goal style/length, and reiterated I just wanted a minor trim to the ends and especially did not want the length over the ears or neck cut any shorter since it was finally getting past that awkward stage. The first thing she did was start cutting the hair falling over an ear. I stopped her and should have walked out then. She then recommended using thinning scissors which she said would not take away length and still give the layers I was looking for. Within 5min, she had randomly cut into my hair so much that it literally looked like I was going bald. Anywhere I parted my hair, I had a whole line of tiny jagged hairs sticking straight up. I stood up mid cut, paid $30 and walked to a barber down the street where they said the only recourse was to use a 1" clipper all over my head. I am now back to square one. 6 months of getting through the awkward stage gone in 5min. I know its just hair and Im fortunate this is a big enough problem in my life that Im taking the time to write this but hopefully it keeps someone from a horrible haircut experience at La Fleur Hair & Nail Spa

From gel manicures with intricate designs to ombre and cat eye nails, every experience leaves me thrilled. The longevity of their gel is impressive, lasting a solid 4-5 weeks. Considering the high-quality service and the reasonable prices, Le Fleur truly stands out in San Francisco.

Sam Gamble This was my first time at La Fleur. I live in the neighborhood and heard good things. I had a really complicated request for a design and Anna worked so hard to mimic my reference. She really went above and beyond! Im very happy with her work. I literally got compliments barely an hour after walking out the door. Ill definitely come back next time I need a manicure.

Amadeus I didn’t have time to get my nails done before I left for vacation. On the plane I researched salons and found this one and decided to try and see if they had time for a walk-in. The woman at the front very kindly found space for me later that day. Everyone was very nice, and the gel manicure with one acrylic fix (had a broken nail) was solid, and felt worth the price to me.

ES Had to come in to get my disastrous nails taken care of and was in love with the photos on their Instagram. Easily accessible location with street spots and a nearby paid lot. Tons of polish brands to choose from including a couple vegan varieties! I came for a soak off + new Gel X set ($80) with nail art in 4 colors ($40) + lip wax ($12). One woman took care of everything but the nail art — Lynn took over for that and *killled it.* My nails look just like my reference photo. She did my wax as well and all products used smelled so good. $130 before tip and well worth it! My only suggestion is that they get a nail table/desk or try a new method as a ton of nail dust got on me throughout my visit. Not a huge deal to me, as I’ll definitely be back for my next set, but could be a turn off to others!

Negin Falahati This place is the best one I’ve been to in all of SF! Friendly staff, very clean and the spa itself it very presentable and peaceful. Their pedicures are amazing. They do the classic pedicure but include paraffin, hot stone and a hot towel! Their lotion is even warm when they massage. All of this for $30! They spent over an hour on my pedicure and did not miss a single detail! They are so accommodating too with schedules. 10/10 recommended - you will not be disappointed!

Rachel Schwartz Got a regular mani pedi ($55) here when I was in town visiting a friend. I was super grateful that they took me as a walk in and my experience was generally fine. Staff were all very friendly. Only downside is a regular mani pedi took 90 minutes because they had me sit and let my nails dry for 45 minutes. Luckily I had no where to go but that felt excessive!

Tricia Peck This was such a terrible awful experience! I have a 1 year old so getting to go out get a mani pedi is an ultra luxury. The women looked beyond disappointed I was there & no one smiled. Like I was a burden being there. The pedicure itself was ok and in the end looked good even with the bad attitudes and bad energy. The seats are weird and the water being carried made me feel like I was a major burden. My babysitter said they could stay longer so I asked for a manicure and a lip wax. The wax was so hot burned my lips. It’s been 6 days and my skin is still red bumpy and looks horrible. I’d normally not get a lip wax but was in a linch and could never imagine such terrible careless service! She didn’t get all the hair burned all around my mouth and now I have had terrible breakouts from the burn at a family wedding. My nails look awful and I paid over $150. I will never ever go back here and highly suggest no one else does either. One star should be negative stats. Careless over priced meaningless service awful. So sad no one in the bay area puts care and love into their work because it’s just all about money.

Afsaneh Pahlavan I had been coming here for over a year. On my last two mani and pedi they managed to trim my nails in a way that they boke off up to tip of my fingers and the gel mani started pealing off after 24 hr. I have ingrown toe nails and although every time they acted like they were cutting the ingrown edges, they would totally fail to give me relief from the pain and every time I ended up coming home and fixing the issue on my own. So I stopped going for my nails. But my mistake was going back for full facial waxing. The owner, at check out decided to over charge me by $5. I just called her and she said it was because she also waxed my nose!!!! Last I checked my nose was a part of my face. Avoid this place they are dishonest and their work if terrible at the most.

Sophie Duster I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Green Spa and Nails. I went in for dip powder manicure and left with a mess. 2 stars for great color selection, cleanliness, and friendly staff. I just wished they knew how to apply it to your nails properly. The dip is messily applied to the edges of nails and each nail is a different shape/size. I tried to say something to the tech during the experience, but was dismissed many times. I paid and left very frustrated after being at the salon for 2 hours which is long for this type of service. I called to see if I could speak to a manager and they told me they were on vacation for the next month. They kindly offered to redo my nails at another time, but I declined as Im weary about the quality of their services at this salon. I really wanted to like this place since its so convenient, but take your money to the other nail salons in the area. Update: One of the kind techs called and said she spoke to her manager and offered for me to come in and get them removed for a full refund. I requested a refund without needing to come back into the salon, which they denied. The gesture was nice, but Ill just consider this experience a loss on my part.

Eve Munguia Ive been going to this place, most of the time the service is good even though they dont have variety of colors. The nail spas owner is a bit rough, so if you take on her as a manicurist, she will color your cuticles and leave your fingers very dry. She is always active and concerned about what is going on with the clients, which is excellent, but it is also detrimental for the customers with whom she works individually. She should have more manicurists or not take too many reservations in order to provide a better experience.

Dan Dascalescu Great pedicure + nice hot stones massage for $30. No useless frills like nail coating (which tends to go yellow over time, or peel off). Comfortable chairs, without massage capabilities. Slightly cheaper if you pay cash (so you can leave a tip). As a guy, a pedicure every 6 weeks serves me well.

Meghan Brown Its difficult for me to give an accurate review that one would assume summarizes my experience with the nail technician, her skills, and my evaluation. Unfortunately, like many other recent experiences Ive been going through, it seems as if theres an anonymous 3rd party contributing their basis and effecting my opinion. I tried going in without prior knowledge of the salon, but I could tell the technician had likely been doing her job for years and for the most part had an excellent set of skills. I think the salon was polished and provided a calming environment that was in alignment with nature.

Another time, when I came with my friend, she ended up not liking the color she chose and they took time to take off the color and then find her a different shade that would suit her better. They file the nails sooo much before putting the polish on your nails become sooo thin that they break so easily! They don’t even bother using hand files! They use electric ones!! If you ask them not to, they simply ignore you!! I asked them to make my nails even and this is how they did it! Also two of my nails look bumpy like there is extra nail polish on them after putting on the polish! Oh by the way, the gel polish came off even after all the brutal filling they did only after two days!!

Gel-x nail extensions were around $70 and you get a small discount with cash payment.

judy Navarrete It had been a few years since I last visited this place, and I noticed several changes, possibly due to new management. They used to provide disposable sandals, but not anymore. When I arrived, they simply asked me to choose a color without inquiring about my preferences. When I asked if I could pick the polish directly from the bottles, they told me it was better to use gel, even though I personally don’t like it. I’ve never been a fan of long nails, and yet, this was the least satisfactory manicure I’ve ever had. I believe they could improve their customer service to offer a more personalized experience.

jenny ferlee Liam was meticulous and so nice. He was good natured about my requests for no cuticle trimming (other places have tried to argue with me, but Liam was so nice about it). He kept asking if I liked my nails and was happy to change the base color a tad more pink for the second coat. SUPER fast too, which shows how talented he is (particularly in drawing the design). The whole thing under 30 minutes: consultation on design, filing, shaping, gel + design, lotion + hot towel. I brought in a picture I liked and he replicated it perfectly, plus added some extra color upon request. Great price too, highly recommend.

Maria Vasina This is my new go to salon! I’ve decided to get extensions starting in March and have had some HORRIBLE experiences since then. One salon gave me acrylics instead of the gel extensions I asked for, leaving my nails even more brittle and damaged. Another did a (very expensive) set of gel x nails that literally started falling off the very next day and you still need to book months in advance. Cc was my saving grace. I believe Caitlin did my new set of gel x nails and she was just awesome. It’s been about a week and they still look great and none are damaged, broken or peeling off. She also said that they can do a fill for gel x nails until my natural nails grow out and then we can switch to hard gel. None of my previous salons offered or mentioned that filling in gel x was even possible. Love it and will be back!

Aaliyah Barker The place is super cute and very clean. My only complaint regarding cleanliness was when she started doing my actual manicure. She didn’t soften my cuticles and rushed my manicure, and she ended up cutting 3 of my fingers. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and have never once had someone cut my finger enough to make it bleed, let alone 3 of them. They spent two hours on my gel manicure, so of course I still paid; but it was hard for me to put $65 down for that. I likely won’t be coming back. I wanted to give this place a try since I just moved in right next door, but my first experience wasn’t great. They were not the most patient or friendly. It could have just been an off day for them, which is why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 1. It was busy and based on the pictures, I’m sure this was just a fluke. Lastly, I asked for an almond shape, and the technician made some of them almond and some of them round. Shape wise, they look really bad. Which was surprising, because a lot of reviews looks great! Maybe I got a newer technician or she was just rushing. I can’t tell if I’m being too picky or not, but I ended up fixing them myself with a nail file and they look better. Usually I would have them fix it on the spot, but after being there for 2 hours, I was already late for my next thing. I have also never had a manicure take so long. I attached photos of my nails close up to show the cuts and poor manicure, but this was after fixing the shape myself.

Becca Klarin Shade is my favorite nail salon! Appointments are easy, they offer SO many options, the salon is spotless, and the staff are incredibly friendly and talented. My recent gel mani and pedi (9 days ago) still look amazing, even with daily abuse from vacation sun, sand, and pool. And I brought my kiddo with me last time for their first pedi, and they loved their experience. Thank you, Shade Nail Salon!

Vikki Cerniglia I love this salon! I have been coming here for over a year now after trying so many salons, and love their attention and treatment. They are friendly, kind, clean, and gentle. They have a great diverse selection of polishes/styles. Its incredibly simple to make an appointment, and they have lots of quality staff and chairs available. I typically get the La Rose Mani-Pedi, which includes a nice massage. My recent gel mani, I got French tips with a chrome overlay, and it has lasted 3 weeks!

Jessica Mi I had an amazing experience at Shade Nail Spa! Le did a great job with my gel extensions and I was super impressed by the efficiency and attention to detail. This is definitely a high quality nail salon and I’ll be coming back!

Kimberly Rice I tried this place randomly, and I’m not happy. My nails were already super short and the nail tech decided to cut into my nail bed leaving jagged edges on all of my nails and my nails look terrible. They tried to make up for it by offering me a discount, which is the least they could do but you should know better than to cut into the nail bed if you are a nail tech. I’m very disappointed and they apologized but I def won’t be coming back here. I would have been better off doing my own nails.

Chi Hsu Overbooked but still took the appointment. Ended up doing 2 peoples nails at the same time and rushing paining my nails. I can see the rough strokes. Paid $24 for a regular manicure. Then they were alternating between customers so my whole thing took longer than expected. Did a poor job as they rushed the manicure.

Roxie Corrigan Stumbled upon Sarah’s when the other nail place I went to couldn’t fit me in. Hong is one of the best nail techs ever! So detail oriented, I swear he spent 15 minutes going over each nail to make sure they were even. The salon as whole is very clean and small which I like l, will definitely be going back here again and again!

Cindy This place was Ok but I wont be back. I got the signature pedicure but the value just wasnt there for paying extra. Massage as subpar, no hot stones and attention to detail was lacking. After I left, noticed several gaps in the polish.

April Anderson Wonderful modern environment, warm staff, and non toxic products. My gel manicures last at least 3 weeks here, they do not rush and make sure you get a very high quality mani. They have lots of nice colors and even some magnetic and color changing. I will only go to non toxic places from now on, not only for my own health but for the health of the kind people giving me a service, they don’t deserve to be exposed to chemicals day in and day out. Everyone is great here, June has been my go to in the past but they all do a lovely job.

Amanda Lomeli I am not someone who usually likes getting their nails done, but the environment at Green Beauty always makes me feel so welcome and relaxed. I love watching Friends and using their great massage chairs while they work! I recently tried out gel manicures because my nails are naturally long and tough, but I cannot express how IMPRESSED I am with the results! Lin Pham was my technician today, and did a perfect job! Could not recommend more!!

Teresa I had heard great things about this nail salon despite living far away, so I booked an appointment online in advance and arrived on time. However, they took a walk-in customer ahead of me, even though I had an appointment, and I ended up waiting over 30 minutes past my scheduled time. I chose the $60 classic mani-pedi, but the nail polish was thin and streaky, so I had to request a third coat. After painting my nails, the staff handed me a fan and left without any instructions on how long I should wait, and no one checked on me again. After a long time and thinking my nails were dry, I got up to leave, only to have them smudge. The staff was rude and blamed me for it. Although they fixed my nails and didn’t charge me for the "extra" work, the polish started chipping just a few days later. So after spending $60 plus $10 tip and Uber, I definitely won’t be returning.

Kelsie Groot This is the 2nd time I got gelx from green beauty nails and I am obsessed! They do such a great job and take their time to make sure you get the desired outcome. And they stay on for a long time. I received a gel pedicure a little over 2 months ago that still has not chipped. Very happy with this location!

Rachel Glascock I’ve had my nails done here twice. First time was fine, but the second was not good. I specifically made an appointment with Helen the second time because I had seen great reviews / had a friend recommend here. In short, Helen was there, but did not do the service. I didn’t realize after booking with someone in particular I had to verify that was the person giving my services. I get builder gel and have been for a long time. The tech doing it there did not seem to know how to do builder nor remove it properly. She was trying to pry off my old builder with cuticle cutters. Additionally, the shape/lengths of my nails ended up completely different between hands. I also asked for nude with chrome and they opted to use yellow green colored chrome. Not ideal. I would not recommend this salon for builder. Separately, I asked if I could get an aura design and was told no, which I felt was very odd. These are my natural nails, so now I just have to wait for them to grow out of the triangles half of them were filed into. By the way, this cost $90 + $20 tip. Photos attached show how bad this came out. Will probably have to get them redone elsewhere.

Church S “Boots” It was easy to make an appointment for 3 of us with only a few days notice. Theres plenty of good, hard-working ladies. Sometimes we had 2 ladies working on us at once. They did a professional job?!

Ryan Miller Cozy, comfortable, clean spa. This appointment was my first ever pedicure. Because of that, I have nothing to compare this to. The nail tech worked attentively. I have no idea what she was doing but I never felt discomfort and I was quite relaxed the entire time. Very happy with the results. If I was local, Id be back a lot.

Lindsay I don’t know how they do it, but my gel manicure here had the best retention I’ve ever seen! After four full weeks with no lifting or chipping (despite how incredibly rough I am on my nails), I finally removed the polish myself. The only maintenance I did was a weekly filing to make sure they didn’t get too long. You can see how great they looked as they grew out in my photos :) The salon itself is quiet and welcoming. They have tons of colors to choose from, including lots of cat-eye/magnetic polishes. The staff were all very nice and I didn’t have to wait despite being a walk-in. My nail tech was also incredibly gentle, which I appreciate. I loved my experience here, but also know that this is not a typical nail salon. I sat in a cushioned armchair (no table). The nail tech pulled up a stool, put the lamp in my lap, and worked off the arm of the chair. It was different, but really comfortable. It’s a lovely change of pace from the intensity of other salons.

Preksha Daga I had a fantastic experience getting a mani/pedi here. It was easy to book an appointment over the phone, and easy to find. The salon is very clean and has a nice ambiance. The ladies were gentle and I felt comfortable despite how ticklish/sensitive I am, and they had great attention to detail. Im really happy with the service provided!

Maya Dluzak I called and they were able to book me in for a reg mani within 2 hrs. Phuong did me sooo good!!! I love my pearly nails. She was so gentle and quick with my cuticles, and immaculate polish application. They made sure my nails were dry before leaving!

ANGEL SANTOS Horrible horrible service I went yesterday to do a manicure and a Pedicure $50 .. that service usually take 40 min.. well it was done in 15 min they rust everything..because they had more customer. Very upset to pay $50.. I actually told the lady that was doing my manicure to stop because she was rushing the job that my nails look all mess up.. here are some picture of the horrible job this lady did.. A89sw I went to city famous today to get my nails done for my bachelorette party, having read positive reviews about their services. I requested ombré dip powder nails with extensions (which is a menu option they offer) and showed her a picture of my previous ombré nails that I loved. The nail technician, Quinn, strongly recommended gel x instead, claiming it would give my nails a more natural look. However, the nails that were ultimately applied didn’t resemble ombré and were not white at the top like I had asked for. When I pointed this out, she said that she couldn’t do ombré with gel x (then why recommend it?) and then proceeded to try and fix the mistake by adding dip powder on top, which was mostly ineffective. Despite my disappointment and the fact that the nails didn’t meet my expectations, Quinn just checked me out quickly and charged me full price. She had also started my appointment 20 minutes late because someone last minute requested to add eyebrows, and she was rushing before I asked her to slow down. The service was disappointing, considering the price, and I’m disappointed with the condition of my nails for a significant life milestone.

Megan Stoner I was so excited to find a salon in the Marina that does hard gels, but this place is not it. I left with three papercut-like cuts on my hands and nails that look like I painted them myself. I overheard the other woman getting her nails done complain to her gal that her nails weren’t what she expected so I don’t think this is an isolated experience with the woman who did my service. Really don’t think it’s worth your money. So sad because I wanted to love this place! Photos show them immediately after and also after trying to scrape off the extra paint in the shower

Mindy Walsh Staff is very sweet but do a poor job on nails. I got an acrylic fill and gel pedicure. While the hot wax felt nice, the polish is very uneven on my toes. Now for my hands, yikes. Clear polish all over my cuticles, inconsistent nail shape on the ends, uneven color on my nails, and uneven texture. I mean take a look at the picture. Unfortunately won’t be returning to this salon.

Courtney Clevenger Quinn is my girl. I have been coming for over a year and she always always always gives me the most amazing manicure. Be it tips, gel etc she is the queen of knowing what you’re looking for and what looks great with your nail bed shape. She also works super hard to keep your natural nails healthy even if you have extensions, which I very much appreciate. She’s wildly talented and is always up on the latest nail trends. Never leaving her.

Estefania Teruel The experience was nice, ladies kind. I didn’t like the job, I’m going to have engagement pictures tomorrow so I have to go to another place to fix it and was the best decision. $105 for hands and feet absolutely not coming back. I went to fix it to 448 California St. and I highly recommend you that place.

Allena Ikehara First time here and I went for a gel mani with removal. They didn’t remove my old gel completely and put the new gel over it and now it’s bumpy. I can feel the lumpiness when I rub my nails…I voiced my concern but the nail tech said that was just my nails. Unfortunately I’ve never encountered this before with having my nails done. You can see from the side how uneven the gel overlay is…I really wanted to love this place but I can’t justify paying $65 for gel polish with this end result :( super disappointed.

Diane Today was my 2nd visit to this business and Lien was my nail tech. The first time my nails were done well by Kim, but the gel did start lifting a little bit in less than 2 weeks. I made an appointment in person yesterday and did mention that the polish lifted from my last mani. The lady at the desk said that is the way it is with gel polish. Why I didn’t take that as a sign to not return I don’t know! Today I came in with beautiful long and well shaped nails and just left with one of the worst gel manicures I have ever had. I literally want to cry. The polish is too thick, the tips are bulbous and the edges are rough! When I told the nail tech I wasn’t happy she had the nerve to argue with me and tell me it’s the polish. I paid and left, because I was so upset I just wanted to get out of there. I cannot believe I even tipped her $10. It should have been free it was so bad. Several of my nails were tender from over filing. Avoid!

Gabs I have been coming here for the past 10 years- this is my go to spot in San Francisco. All the staff are so friendly and attentive. Everytime I am here, it’s truly hard to leave. Freedom Uninterrupted C.E.P It was a quick-service although from the moment I sat down my stylist was back and forth doing my hands or working with someone else through my service. I asked if she had time available and she should have said no if she wasnt finished working with the other people. She kept leaving me to do somebody elses nails and whenever she came back to do my nails she sped through it and was not careful with her application. I ended up getting clear gel polish. I wasnt sure if I could be confident in getting anything else besides a solid color. It was really disappointing that my nails are not filed straight. When I tried to tell her she got frustrated and told me not to worry about it then filed nails I didnt even ask to be filed again just to create the same issue. They also painted the gel polish too high up which is why its hanging off my nailbed in the one photo. Im sure the quality of work would be much better if she slowed down and didnt put too much on her plate.

Radha Jhatakia Service wasnt bad but it was so busy that the nail tech had to bounce back and forth between me and someone. Perhaps the lack of taking the time to do it led to my dip coming off in just 1.5 weeks.

Kris Weisman First appointment here. Small place, but METICULOUS attention to the details of my manicure. I got gel removed and just a simple manicure with a clear coast. The technician Larra spent a lot of time and care on the process. Very happy with my nails as I begin to grow them out without gel for a couple months.

Danielle I I’ve been a regular at this salon and feel compelled to address a recent review. The owners have a smart, beautiful, and extremely helpful little girl who loves to help out in the salon. Unfortunately, the reviewer visited on a day when this little girl brought in a rabbit. Having frequented this salon, I can assure you that this was an isolated incident. I’ve never seen the rabbit before, nor have I ever experienced disruptive noise from children. Its disheartening to read a comment questioning the mothers attention to her child. I find it inspiring to witness a mother who skillfully balances her business with her parental responsibilities. The mother is always attentive, ensuring her daughter is respectful and engaged appropriately. This salon remains a professional and relaxing environment, and I look forward to my continued visits.

Keira Chu New management! So clean and so immaculate! Also love all the natural light - feels so airy and bright. Best part is the service is amazing - we are so well taken care of and pampered and we NEVER feel rushed at all. Plus there are 2 massage rooms downstairs - Now we can get a mani pedi AND a massage, wow. Best bonus: they have their own washing machine and dryer downstairs so all their towels are so clean and fluffy. I care a lot about cleanliness and this place is it for us. Thank you!

Sarila Young I haven’t been able to find a nail salon to stay loyal to since moving to the city, but have fallen in love with Upper Hand. Everyone there is so sweet and greets you like an old friend or family. I love having colorful, fun nails, and they do a spectacular job of bringing my visions to life. They even make suggestions to make my nails even more like me. They are very quick, friendly, and do great work.

Suzy Hong Ugh, really wanted to like this place. Cute and relaxing ambience, super nice ladies. BUT! Dirty tools (no cleaning between clients) and uneven polish. We’ll see how they hold up next couple days. For $27 for manicure, I at least expect them to have individually sterilized tools to use between clients. My polish coats were uneven (see pics on coverage). Cuticle lines are uneven. I could’ve done a better job myself at home or at a different salon down Church for 20 bucks.

Shannen Baie Their dip powder lasts forever and looks great. I go 3-4 weeks without chipping, cracking or the color changing. The salon is clean and relaxing. They have the latest high quality polish colors. The ladies are super professional and nice to chat with (or not if you just want to chill). This place gets super busy on the weekend, so make an appointment. Highly recommended.

Kristin Whisenand I was in town for work purposes and needed to have my nails done, this causes A LOT of stress when someone new does my nails. I didnt havent a choice as my nails were starting to chip. I called to make and appointment and Lynn was wonderful. Once I explained to her my situation, she was very patient with me as I was trying to explain to her what my normal home nail salon does for me. When I got to the salon, I was very welcomed and Lynn took special care of me and did my nails herself. She did a wonderful job and took great pride in making me feel at ease with a new nail salon tech. The prices were very comparable to what I usually pay at home. I would highly recommend this nail salon whether you are from San Francisco or just visiting!!

She provides the incredible services. I cant go more then a couple weeks without seeing her for a deluxe pedicure and gel manicure! She is so thoughtful and meticulous at what she does. The salon itself is so clean and calming. Exactly what youre looking for when youre trying to relax. Dont look anywhere else! Youve found the best SF has to offer. Ashley Zimmerman This place is the best in the neighborhood! I was waiting for my 2nd visit to leave a review to make sure my first time wasnt just "beginners luck." Ive done a gel manicure both visits and a pedicure on the 2nd as well. They do *not* rush through services and take time to ask and listen to your preferences. The pedicure is awesome with a bonus hot stone part of the massage! The owner did my manicure both times and is able to get the polish super close to the cuticles; my nails grow fast, and I wait 2 weeks between appointments, so with most other salons they look grown out after a few days. My polish choices might not be your preference, haha, but adding photos to show the consistency between two visits. Heads up: they dont offer any kind of nail art/designs, but do a fantastic job with with traditional paint jobs. One of the best parts is they seem to really honor their booked appointments and dont appear to take walk-ins they dont actually have time for...and theyre open Sundays!!!!

G Sr. Professional staff who are friendly, warm, accommodating, respectful and the salon is so pretty, decorated very classy and atmosphere is always relaxing despite always being busy with customers but cannot ask for better with all of the foliage everywhere. It is clean and reasonably priced for SF. I am satisfied to keep coming year after year, right in our own Beautiful Bayview Backyard*+.

Laura Abangan I am deeply disappointed with the service I received at Olivias Nail Spa today. Typically, I have had excellent experiences here, with staff who genuinely care for their customers, providing thorough and meticulous care for both manicures and pedicures. However, todays experience was drastically different. The group of ladies working today did not offer the same level of service that I have come to expect. My pedicure felt rushed, and my concerns about the quality of the work were ignored. The nail polish was applied sloppily, showing a clear lack of care. To make matters worse, at the end of the service, the technician demanded a tip, questioning how I would tip if I were paying by card. Out of politeness, I tipped $5 on my card, but this felt inappropriate given the poor service. Moreover, the cost of the pedicure was unexpectedly high. What normally costs $25 ended up being $42, including charges for sandals that are usually complimentary when the owner is present. I was charged an additional $2 for these. I have always wanted to support local businesses, but this experience was a waste of my money and left me deeply disappointed. I hope this review will be taken into consideration and prompt changes at Olivias Nail Spa. Unfortunately, I will be seeking nail services elsewhere from now on. ---

Edith Gonzalez Came to do acrylic nails and pedicure gel no appointment. Walked in and they attended to my mom and I right away! They are attentive and listened well to my picky requests with friendly service. My mom was supper excited to show off her gel pedicure and overall it’s always a pleasure to be attended to with so much kindness. The owner always make sure you are happy with the results before you leave!

Dyanna Volek This place is fantastic! The space is gorgeous, and the ambiance is very jungle vibes and clean. They have an army of aestheticians, and we were able to get in quickly for pedicures. The pedicures were pricey - around $40 - but I guess thats the going rate in the city? They also offered snacks and drinks to people. My aesthetician wasnt too chatty, but she was quick and efficient and gave a great leg massage. They also have decent massage chars. Its definitely worth coming to the Bayview for!

Fiona Sweeney The lovely ladies at Spectrum Nails go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, safe, and taken care of. They even have personal mail kits with your own tools in them so you know they aren’t being reused, which is super important at a time like this! The service itself was great, and you cannot beat the price for SF. Highly recommend!

Celine Guadamuz-Cruz Nail artist was late to the appointment which wouldn’t have been a problem if she hadn’t been so passive aggressive. I brought my own nail polish as I just wanted a simple nude nail but when she arrived she was trying to persuade me to do something else. However, everything I was interested in she said I was “too dark” for. I decided on a simple design from their instagram to which she said was “too expensive” despite my willingness to pay which I thought was rude. To avoid not liking a last minute design I decided to do my original simple nude nails to which she said looked “too old”. She then attempted to persuade me to do a design to which I declined. At the end of the service she called me difficult for not going with her suggestions. Never going back.

Noelle Mabutas I’ve been coming to this place for years (since they opened the salon). The quality of service has drastically changed. My nails used to last me weeks without chipping. However, the past few times I have gone, they have chipped super quickly.. I noticed this time they cut my cuticles after dip/painting my nails which left an indent from my cuticle line to where they painted. The dip/paint lasted me three days, you can tell from the photo that the dip/paint was beginning to lift where the cuticle line meets the dip, which super unfortunate. Mind you, I do not use harsh chemicals on or near my hands that would cause this. Considering the amount of money I’ve spent here over the years to present I would hope that they would put better quality out there. I hate to be the person to write a review but after being a long time customer and the experience I continue to encounter enough is enough. (The first photo was taken three days after getting them done. The second is a week later)

Robin Kincade I love this Shoppe. I’m a difficult client because I don’t always like to go get my nails done but every time I come here that only do they do a great job. They are so nice! I highly recommend this business. They do a fantastic job on my nails

Magdalyn Kerslake Im giving a 2-star rating instead of a 1 because, being a hair stylist myself, I recognize that its challenging to satisfy every client. However, the service I received for $140 was unsatisfactory. After seeing how well they seem to do 3D chrome nails on Instagram, I was so excited to give this salon a try. I showed them the inspo photo and made it clear that understand that it wouldn’t look exactly like the inspo photo however, they assured me they could deliver. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired as I felt rushed and received nails that bore no resemblance to the inspo photo, yet alone any decent looking nails I’ve ever seen. Despite requesting adjustments, after 2.5 hours, they appeared even worse – clumpy, thick and messy. Given the price I paid, I had expected a higher level of professionalism. Furthermore, as a cosmetologist, I was appalled by the salons lack of sanitation, evident in their use of dirty instruments and using single use instruments on multiple different clients. I’ll include the nails before and after the adjustment, and the inspo photo.

Jasmine Chen Unusual technique. My technician (Sky) insisted on doing cuticles AFTER applying acrylics when I asked for it before application. It’s only been one day and the lunula is already exposed. For $85 I would prefer a manicure that lasted longer.

Sarah Lynn Marion 10/10 would recommend to anyone! I got a full set of Gel X (with a soak off of a previous set) for $85 + tip. I’m not local to the area otherwise I would be a regular customer. I came on a Monday morning and they were not busy at all. The salon was clean and spacious, and had a generally pleasant atmosphere. My nails were in pretty rough shape when I came in from a previous full set I had gotten elsewhere. Britney took her time and was extra careful with my nails because she could see how damaged they were. I get Gel X nails regularly, every 4 weeks or so, and you can tell when someone is good vs. bad at doing this type of nail extension. She was very good at the application. She had exactly the shape and length I wanted which is always a good sign. (Often times salons will only carry one size and length of gel x tips, and then they’ll make them they shape you want but they’re not always uniform). I’m very happy with my nails. I have to have them done a specific way for work, and they’re perfect.

Amaiya S Horrible. I came here yesterday 10/30/24 to get a simple gel manicure. The nail artist suggested that I try getting a hard gel manicure instead and I agreed. I don’t understand why someone would suggest for me to do hard gel instead of the regular gel manicure that I wanted when they have no idea how to do it. Every single one of my nails is lumpy and crooked. There are awful amounts of crusted product left underneath my nails. She also cut and caused me to bleed several times. They did a horrible job and did not offer a refund or even a discount. I have never in my life gotten “professional nails” that looks so terrible. When I brought it to their attention About how crooked and terrible my nails look, I was told that “different people do them differently” instead of them offering to redo them or give a discount for these horrible nails. I feel scammed and upset. Do not come here.

Yamilette Carrion SAMMIE IS AMAZING!!! I love my nails to death. I showed her a picture of the gradient and I added the dots and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I got a fill in and a nice guy took his time shaping my nails to perfection & then Sammie slayed my nail art. She took her time on each nail. And she’s fab! I have been to over 10 salons in SF and they all disappointed me because they could never do what I asked - Mani Pedi is my new favorite and go-to spot!

Shayla Benoit Wow! The best experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon. Lucy did an amazing job cleaning up my cuticles. When she didn’t know how to do the ombré, Sammy was able to get it done while also showing Lucy how to do it. They really went above and beyond and spent their time making sure it was perfect. Also, at some point Lucy gave me a shoulder and arm massage! I am blown away with the service and treatment that I received. Thank you guys so much for such as amazing experience. 10/10 recommend to everyone, not even expensive and I feel as if I got more than I paid for. ♥️

Caldonia Meehan I came in to Valencia for a fill with nails I had gotten done somewhere else. The woman who did my nails was SO sweet and fixed the old ones (the old ones were mishaped and done poorly) She took her time, even though we were there late. I wish I got her name!! So so so beautiful and a wonderful clean environment. Would highly recommend ♥️ Thank you so much!

May-Li Khoe Finally has a chance to try this place! Will did a fantastic job with my nail shape and helping me pick a color, trying out a shimmery top coat on pinky nail first to decide whether I liked it, moisturizing, checking in on me, finishing off the details by cleaning up edges with a soft thin brush dipped in remover etc. They did a great job with the interior decor and the regular polish color selection. They carry Deborah Lippman and Bio Sculpture regular polish (and a wide selection of gel, though I don’t get gel manis anymore so I didn’t look too closely).

Mahika J In the year that I’ve been in SF, I’ve tried a few nail salons and this one is by far the best. Rich & Tina have done my nails a few times and their attention to detail is unmatched. The salon itself is also very well maintained and modern. They do get very busy in the evenings and I’ve had to wait, so definitely call ahead for an appointment. It is a bit pricey, but I don’t have to worry about my nails chipping/breaking in between visits.

Lilia Ruelas Always love getting Gel-X with them. These actually last me 4-6 weeks and help your natural nails grow on their own with minimal damage like acrylic usually does. Theyre well worth the price.

Oksana I am super picky about where I get my nails done. This place is super on all levels! Amazing techs who did a phenomenal job (very detail oriented) and it’s very clean. Best part: they carry Dazzle dry and other high end polishes. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

rachel f I never normally write reviews but I had to for this place. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and now Phuong has bought the business. The place is clean and a very comfy neighborhood salon. The people have always been so kind. Got a gel mani the other day and noticed there was a little problem with the top coat (nothing big, just something with the texture. We’re human). I went back the next day and Phuong was immediately on top of it, helping to redo the top coat and it came out perfectly. Prices are fair and quality has always been good or if there’s a mistake, they definitely make it up. Thank you so much! I love my nails and will continue to be a loyal customer.

Judy Kong The place was so convenient (I took the N to get dropped off less than 20 feet from the location) and got seated in 5 minutes. I made an appointment for a pedicure and their shop looks more catered towards pedicures than manicures (although they can definitely do both). The basins look like sinks and the ladies working on you are very meticulous and quick. Great service and I’ll definitely go back there again!

Emily Carey I don’t usually leave reviews but saw reviews that they don’t take walk ins and are very rude, but I’ve been to this place 3 times now and the staff have been nothing but extremely nice. One of those times I did just walk in with no appt and they took me. I spent a really long time working with the person doing my nails to find the perfect colour for what I was looking for and she took a the time to make sure the design was what I wanted. The gel pedicure I got lasted weeks! I always need to take them off before they even start chipping because they last so long. I’ll admit a bit pricey but similar to others I’ve seen in the area. Overall I continue to come back here time and again!

Mary Vlahos Very good on nails but sketchy on price. Twice the price differed from what they advertised. Make sure you know the price first. 77.00 for a deluxe manicure and 35.00 for a gel color change..wow. she told me gel pedicure I dont have to wait but neglected to tell me it was 20.00 more until she ramg everything in. Also $35.00 for a color change when a gel nail color is 45.00...pricing makes zero sense. No wonder why they dont advertise the prices

Kate H Best place ever for acrylic designs, they always do the best! I always go here and my nails always last for at least 3 weeks and they always turn out so nice. I have pictures of sets I have done here before. I have also enjoyed my gel manicures and regular pedicures done there.

Kay Bee Came here with a friend for a mani pedi. Tried nail art on my ring fingers to get into the season. Glad that we made an appointment. A couple of girls came in without and squeezed them in but they had to wait a bit. My gel nails lasted about a little over a week and a half before it started chipping. Pretty good for me as it usually starts chipping after a week.

Miles This is my second time ever getting a manicure done (I’ve had pedicures before). This shop was really patient with me as my friend gave me the wrong place and I arrived 15min late for our appointment. The place was in a good area and the place looked well kept/clean/nice. They had like 3–4 people working on at any given time, but always made sure I was comfortable. The pedicure went well and relaxing. For the gel manicure I asked for the silver detail and they gave me the all inclusive cost which was a really good, fair price! As I was getting my pedicure the workers cross checked and made sure it was up to pare. Jennie recommended a lighter clear nude base so the silver can pop. Then Lan or Linh (forgive me I have bad hearing) came in with the designs! She’s amazing and has been doing this for 7 years. She even asked if I wanted to do a pop of spray gradient underneath and swatched the colors so I knew which one was right. I AM SOOO HAPPPY with the result!! I’m definitely coming back again!

Efigenia Dominguez I dont like to share my favorites for selfish reasons but Ziva Nail Salon is absolutely one of the best true powder dip shops in the city. They know how to remove the powder easily without injuring my nails, and have ample colors selection. The salon is neat and tidy and the girls perform AMAZING shoulder and feet massage.

Nicole Violet I went in there with a picture and I came out with dirty misshaven nails. I will never go there again. I had to pay $50 and go to lux nail salon to have them fixed and now they look like the picture. Dont waste your time or money, theyre rude, they price gouge and it was just a horrible waste of time!

Josephine Foucher I really enjoy this salon. I live close by and come regularly for pedicure and have always been happy with the results. They have massage chairs, the staff is nice and they do a good job (I love that they use real oranges with the hydrating cream on the legs), and I think the prices are very reasonable. Sometimes a little wait when busy but thankfully there is a coffee shop nearby, and usually you can just walk in, and its great.

Lisa Houdei Immediately after walking into this nail salon, I was greeted so warmly by the lovely women that work here. I looked to my left to find the mother of the owner of the salon hugging an 88 year old customer who walked 30 minutes just to get her nails done by her. My nails were carefully and beautifully done and I’ve never had a better experience. They also squeezed us in last minute, so that was very much appreciated. Unique, special, and a warm environment. Charity Farre I’m a regular at Thi Spa & Nails and I have never left disappointed! I go in for gel x nails and pedicure! I receive so many compliments on my nails and I love my sets every single time. The staff are so kind and welcoming everytime I go in. I usually go for walk-ins and that has never caused any issues. If you are busy like me and only go in for nails when you have the time to then place is definitely for you! They will do their best to ensure you get the result you desire. I often ask for their suggestions after showing them my inspiration pictures and they always deliver! The area is also a really good spot, close to everything. If you want to grab something to eat and drink before/after your nails, you have a variety of options in the area. Transportation wise, there is a lot of public transportation as it is in the heart of downtown. It is also a walkable area, so walking is accessible. Seung ah Lee Bumpy texture and details are low quality. My technition was new at her job I guess. When I complained to the manager, she was just ready to defense not to genuinly communicate. Since the jell is not covered fully, my thumb nail is already tearing on the side. I have came here four times but now I am not going anymore.

I had a very pleasant experience , and my nail tech was quick and ensured I was very comfortable. I am definitely going back , and super grateful for the wonderful experience and beautiful nails .

Sravya Basvapatri Fast service, was able to accommodate walk-in on a Sunday evening. Did a gel manicure and it’s beautiful, but some of the nails are shaped unevenly, there’s a few bubbles and dust stuck in the polish. My nail also started bleeding during cuticle removal because it was a bit fast and rough, wish she’d been a bit more gentle. Not sure I’d come back, but I like the finished product.

Ami Cai I had an amazing time!! All the women were extremely diligent in their work and had a very positive and friendly demeanor! I had just walked in and had the absolute best time getting my dream nails and given the best socializing from everyone being so kind. I had a very popular set of nails at GDC and had tons of people excited to go next year! Definitely am planning on coming back next year when I’m in town!! ^^)

Maureen Zhang First time here and I got a gel manicure on my natural nails plus three gel extensions on three broken nails. For transparency, it is $41 for a gel manicure with removal ($36 if you come in with bare nails), $15 for ombré, and $7 for the gel extensions. My total came out to be $63, which is not the cheapest but not a bad price either. You can get a loyalty stamp card and get a stamp for each cash payment of $30. Inside was small but clean, and they also offer a free drink menu (just sodas/sparkling water/water). Amy did my nails, and she was super quick and knowledgeable!

Audrey Fremier One of the best gel manicures I’ve had! They took off my old gel polish with a nail file then soaking them as opposed to just buzzing off and really destroying nails like some salons do. Then they provided fingerless gloves to cover your hands from the UV light. Would come back!

Liana Trobaugh This place is extremely expensive for the bare minimum work. I went here with my friend hoping to get almond plain French tips and when I went there they put the longest square nails and send shaping them to almond would be 20$ and French tip would be 40$. So we decided to get plain white because color was also expensive and I asked to get them shortened at least sense I didn’t even want them and the lady was very rude and barely shortened them. Although they did have really good glue so when I tried to take them off at home they ripped my natural nail off. The final amount for me and my friend ended up almost being 300$ for barely nothing

Audrey Fremier Pretty good gel manicure so far. Fancy looking chairs for pedicures but the manicures are at a bar in what feels like unofficial seating spots. Lots of color options and was easy to get a same day appointment.

Jordan Aceves I had an amazing experience at Mac’s. My boyfriend and I called ahead at 6:15pm and asked if we could be taken before they close at 7:30pm. Not only did they say yes, they were READY for us when we arrived. We were offered green tea, water, juice, etc. and made my boyfriend comfortable (his first time getting a pedicure). The kind women who did our pedicures were amazing, they paid attention to detail and were VERY nice. They prefer cash for gratuity and conveniently have an ATM inside the shop. I will literally never go anywhere else, the service and kindness is top-tier and I always leave happy! The woman doing my pedicure even asked if it was okay that one nail was shorter than the rest due to a break! The hot stone massage was also a super nice addition to the whole experience. Thank you so much!

Sarah Lynn Marion This salon is great for classic services like regular manicures and pedicures. My pedicure is great, I’m super happy with it. I came in on a Friday morning and got a gel pedicure and a new gel-x full set on my hands. I would not recommend you get your gel-x nails done here. I think the salon and all their employees are lovely, I just unfortunately had a bad experience. My Gel X nails started popping off like dollar store press-ons just 2 days after I got them done. I’m not sure what happened, as I get Gel X nails regularly, and I’ve never had this happen to me before. The nail tech did a great job shaping and painting the nails, and I was really happy with how they looked, but the application must have been wrong or something because they started coming off on Sunday morning. I came back to the store that afternoon and the salon owner was very apologetic and gave me a full refund for the manicure.

Rozelle Cronin Absolutely thrilled with the mani/pedi I had done on Weds morning. Such a professional job and great value at $45. Welcoming and friendly staff, helpful to me picking a colour from their extensive choice of colours. 2 staff members attended to my nails so it was done quickly and efficiently. I see a previous bad review from someone who (by their own fault) went to the wrong Salon. Very unfair, that salon has a totally different name!! I have no hesitation recommending Sutter nails!!

Sofia S I’ve been going to Sutter Nails for the past two years because their prices are affordable and they’re located close to my job. However, last three times that I went, I was completely dissatisfied with their work, but I kept coming back because I thought that mistakes can happen and I’m not usually very picky. However, last time the employees were kind of rude to me and I didn’t feel very comfortable. Plus, it feels like they completely stopped caring about the quality of their job. Also, the place feels a little bit unsanitary since of lately (or maybe because I started paying attention). They are definitely reusing their nail files on multiple clients and the sterilization pouches never have a processed mark on them. The customer service is below average, I don’t feel welcomed there.

Karla Alvarez This is my second time here and I love how my nails came out. I got the Gel X this time. Also I think is a good price for the job they do. But I do recommend to go if you have a lot of free time! They get really busy and is only 4 workers. Even if you have an appointment. I did an appointment for me and my sister at 10:30am we got out at 12:30pm and one worker was working on both of us at the same time. We had the time to spend and I really like their work so it was worth the wait! :)
