Vickey Flores I just got my nails done at JS Lovely Nails, and I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Kim was my technician and she did a great job! I got a french mani pedi and she did it thin just as I requested.

I’m your client too and I paye you 81$ for what I don’t even like .. now u just want you to take it down…that is the picture of what she did to me it was soooo hungry but I do pay expensive for that … I will never go back

Rashida Carter Very friendly staff. When I went in today at 6pm there were 3 ladies, and only 1 of them was the nail tech! She was great. My nails came out great. She couldnt do the original design, but what she did looked great! She didnt clip my cuticles, which I actually prefer. She fixed a nail and buffered off the previous gems. It was a great final result. The salon itslef is older, but I enjoyed the ladies.

ORD OAK Been going here for years. When other salons have folded, these guys seem to keep things going. The owner-guy is always welcoming and even if he doesn’t know you, he does a good job pretending he does and makes you feel welcome. I have an outstanding pedicure recently. Very thorough. I didn’t want it to end. Sadly, my experiences are not consistent. Some technicians seem to do the bare minimum and rush through the job rather than give you an experience. I will be directly requesting this tech next visit. Prices are fair. They prefer cash, but take cards. Massage chairs are beginning to look a little worn and televisions are usually not on, even though they have them.

Wired Weird Entertainment The best in Oakland and the east bay. Nails always look extremely gorge and flawless. Best mani/pedi as well as service. I got my Brazilian and underarms waxed as well. Been going for two years and the business is queer owned and comfortable for queers.

Rita G/medhin Didnt listen at all. Rushed. Just did what ever will take her less time asked for a clean up or new set on one stained nail. She literally said its OK while me telling her to stop and added on top of it. Up on paying we saw some uncolored nails took me back and added on top of it. Now color is chpping its looks messy after 2days of getting it done. Very upset and charged me 50$ for a messy refill. Messy, tick , not smooth, ugly. Will never go back there.

Christina Alexis I really want to love this place but every time I go, my gel manicure chips after only 3 days. They give great service though just wished the manicures lasted longer.

Elaine Kim Hiens specialty is senior citizens pedicures. She expertly helps older folks avoid ingrown toenails and other foot problems. Hanhs nail art/gel nails are fabulous. She is a real artist. Elegant Nails is spotlessly clean and follows all pandemic protocols scupulously.

neha shah Amazing!!! We booked an appointment, and even though we came a few minutes late, they were ready for us and took their time. Space was super cute, App of the artists are super skilled, welcoming, and open to ideas. Prices are also super reasonable for the work that they do- especially the design work and being in the Bay Area. Would highly recommend and plan on coming back.

Katie, Tommy, and the woman who did my pedicure (I didn’t get her name!) were all so talented, patient, and kind. Each of them took their time doing their work and had such great attention to detail. These are the smoothest acrylics I’ve ever gotten! I’m excited to keep coming back!

TaJa M I’ve been a loyal client at this salon for over two years, but after my most recent visit on New Year’s, I’ll never be returning. I came in specifically for a pedicure, but out of sheer greed, the staff coaxed me into getting a full set with a nail tech I’d never worked with before. Against my better judgment, I agreed—and it was a decision I deeply regret. The nails are absolutely atrocious. They’re lumpy, misshapen, and filed completely wrong. On top of that, they started lifting after just three days! It’s clear this nail tech had no business working on anyone’s nails, let alone mine. I can’t believe the salon thought it was acceptable to provide this kind of service. To make matters worse, when I voiced my concerns during the appointment, they completely brushed me off. I refuse to let them touch my hands again—not to fix, redo, or even remove this mess. The greed and disregard for quality or customer satisfaction are appalling. What was supposed to be a relaxing New Year’s appointment turned into a nightmare. If you care about your nails, your time, and your money, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This salon has lost a loyal client for good.

In addition to all the regular great features (excellent massage chairs, super lovely staff, very good quality manis and pedis), I got some excellent help with an ingrown toenail. These women know their stuff. Location is also so nice! Easy to get coffee lunch etc. and they accommodate friend groups really well. They have gotten me into the habit of having my nails and toes top notch.

Katniss Meowskewitz I typically don’t write negative reviews because who knows maybe someone is having a bad day, but this place was possibly the worse nail experience I’ve had. I came in to get my acrylics off and get a manicure. They left powder on my fingers and nails, they put on the polish coats uneven, the second lady working on me (the first left to work on someone else) just blatantly put nail polish over this big piece of lint that was very visible and didn’t attempt to fix it until I asked her too. There were multiple pieces of cuticle not fully taken off, just there like a hang nail (and they came from them cutting they weren’t there previously). When I pointed some out I was told “that’s powder not skin” as if that was ok. The powder should have been fully removed from my hands yes? When fixing something else she clearly left a large dent in the polish with her tool but once again didn’t move to fix it until I asked her to. I was told my nails were dry when they weren’t, and one of my nails *still* has a dent. By that point I just wanted to get out of there so I didn’t point it out. You can see there is nail polish on my actual finger, powder places, the paint isn’t even around the finger and the edges. And the massage lasted 22 seconds (I counted on the second hand). First time here because my usual place was busy. I won’t be back and I can’t recommend it.

Mary Vertulfo I’ve been going here for 6 months and it’s consistently been the best manicure I’ve had! I get acrylics and gel. I always call ahead and either schedule or just ask if they can take me right away. Great color selection. They take a while but are very meticulous and precise! My set will last 3+ weeks with standard wear and tear.

Andrew Lee Got haircut here, I found the interior to be very comfortable, not to mention large, with several rooms inside as you go in. While the front area seems to mainly be a nail salon, there is a haircut section with couches and several seats for haircuts, there was also waxing and other services in other rooms. The person who cut my hair was above average, and not just considering the price. While the price is on the lower end in terms of bay area pricing, the quality of cut, evenness, minnimal stray missed hairs etc. is reflective of a haircut maybe about twice the price. So its a great value

Rashell Cabosmalón Becerra Bad experience. I went with a design for my nails, they told me they could do it but in the end the lady couldnt do them after 4 attempts, so I asked her to do a simple design. They ended up charging me almost the same. If you dont know how to do a design, dont commit to doing it.

Cella Destan Lyn did my nails and I absolutely love them! She was friendly, detailed and accommodating. Mine was a fill too so it wasn’t a full set price. Update: 3 weeks later and they’re still going strong!

halley leta-pombo The women were extremely nice and took me in right away. I had these done a week ago and they have not chipped, broke or faded. I came back to get an eyebrow & lip wax. Nails were gel and feet were regular paint. I like that she asked for the hands if I wanted it pink or clear for the full portion. Would highly recommend this place.

Eva Ramos Went in last week for my mani, pedi and asked for gel on my hands but not my toes. Asked for purple but my toes came out burgundy. I called to let them know and have them fix it. I went in this morning and she wanted to charge me $15 dollars more for their mistake. I had already spent $100. She did a horrible job and terrrible attitude. Will never come back! Too many good nail salons to choose from. STAY AWAY!!!!

adelita gonzales The sign says mani and pedi for $32. The man tried to charge me $42. I went ahead with service anyway even though he was clearly trying to rob me. They said 32 was the price ten years ago for mani pedi, which I could believe, except every other price on the price list was correct according to them. Then he grabbed a drill, ran it across my nails, scraped under my nails with a dirty used wooden stick, and grabbed the paint. I asked him how much I would ah e to pay to walk out. He said $10. I gave it to him and left. The photo is of my nails AFTER the “manicure” and just before he was going to paint. The manicure was running a drill over the nails, the dirty wood stick. A quick soak in dirty water (that he pulled from under the desk), filed two nails, and then he was going to paint. Do NOT come here if you value hygiene or attention to detail. Worst manicure ever.

Sokha Graham Very rude and unprofessional its very unclean they dont clean they use old scrub brushes on everyones feet unless you say something everyones uses the same bowl to wash their hands Ive never seen no soap clean those bowls the whole place needs to be shutdown and cleaned Im very sure every nail tech doesnt have a license its cheap but u pay for what u get horrible service they dont do good work their just cheap and u can only use cash so they can get over on paying taxes Shut this nasty outdated place down asap

Yongyu Wu As you can see from other reviews, the ladies are ok but the manager was super fake. I paid $34 and $11 tips for this. My nail just been done for a week. I called back and ask the manager, how many layer that they usually put on for manicure, he was saying depends on the color. Oh man, don’t lie, you knew that day was busy so you didn’t do the right service to your customers. YOU PICKS YOUR CUSTOMER! Never come back.

Liz Hart This place is GREAT! Everyone is always super friendly and fun to be around. It’s a high energy place with people working hard to make your nails look fabulous. I’ve had great pedicures and gel nails done on a regular basis. I tend to do things last minute so I don’t have a regular person I go to. I feel comfortable with all the people working there and know I’ll get a fabulous manicure. They’ll work hard to fit you in. I like the owner. It’s easy if you need to shop at Safeway. It’s a good sized mall. So far I’ve only had very good experiences here! Six months later after a long trip back east and failed manicures by others Im back and really happy with the service!

M W If you are looking to waste TWO HOURS to get your nails done (just a regular mani, not even a pedi mind you) this is your spot. We walked in at 5:20 pm and did not get done until 7:20 pm. We had to wait over 1.5 hours because they were “busy and behind”. Maybe learn some decency and basic customer service and let your patrons know it won’t be a “5 minute wait” and instead a 1.5 hour wait? What is most vexing is that they started on our nails then switched to people who came after us, telling us it’ll only be a moment but ended up being 1.5 hours. I had initially wanted a pedicure as well. They told me while they were doing my fingernails they didn’t have time and to come back tomorrow, fine. But after all the wait and the poor work, they even had the AUDACITY to ask us to PREPAY for the imaginary pedicure I was going to get tomorrow. EXCUSE ME. There is no way I’ll ever be coming back here. Such a shame really since it’s only a 5 minute walk away. See photos for what waiting two hours gets you- no better, likely worse than what you can do yourself at home.

Nancy Benedicta Poor service and quality. Its my first time coming here cos its close to the apartment i just moved in. The fact i always go with dipping powder that lasts at least 1 month, i came back to get some of my nails redone cos they cracked within few days. Sadly, they didnt last long again! So i came back and the stylist rudely told me dip powder aint just for me. She would gimme gel instead. Not only that, she did the service harshly with her tool and long nails and said ive got sensitive skin.

Ive never had acrylics before but new I had to try the vampire nails. She did such a great job recreating them that Im definitely going to do them again. Best price on town for quality work. They did a great job on the wifes nails too. We always leave with a smile.

Melissa Archie Man. When I walked in I appreciated that they acknowledged me with enthusiasm. The ladies I worked with were very nice. An older woman did my gel manicure while another worked on my regular pedi. I could see the manicure wasnt going perfectly, the polish went over the cuticles, but I was short on time and hopeful it would get corrected. It did not. The pedicure clean up work was good and looked good at completion. 3 days later my gel was chipping. 1 week later I was able to peel what was left all the way off. Nothing fancy was required. Just my natural nails.

Clarissa Gayton Leann and everyone else here is amazing !! We came in by chance once because my husband had a hair appt across the street and they fit us in. We went back another time and I finally got my nails done as well. I prefer gel nails because it lasts longer but I stopped getting it because every place would ruin my nail and it would actually break off with the gel. Not Leann’s ! The polish lasted almost 2 months (I have a newborn so can’t go as often as I’d like) and my nails just grew and flourished. I can’t wait to go back.

Mariam Tiwana Ive never ever been treated this way and I need to discuss this. I made an appointment at 3:30 for a regular mani pedi and I walk in on time. They have 3 girls there and do not seat me for 20 minutes. They did a great job at my pedicure and while I am getting a pedicure I see them deny two groups of colored women who came in wanting to get pedicures. They let them know theyre booked and full...shortly after a group of 4 elder while women come to sit down and get pedicures....they dropped EVERYTHING and left me with acetone soaking on my nails....FOR 45 WHOLE minutes while they worked on these women who had appointments wayyyyy after me. Guess what time I got out for a regular mani pedi??? ALMOST 3 hours later!!! The acetone was on me for so long it dried on my skin, they also had absolutely no fans or dryers for my nails so they were ruined and had to be readjusted after I was already told they were dry. Please Never ever judge your customers status by the way we look. How come you didnt drop everything for me or any of these other customers when they walked in but you did for those ladies???? A shame. Ive never been treated this way and plan to share my experience everywhere I possibly can.

Mxd Chx My daughter brought me here a few years ago and we used to go together sometimes but stopped since the pandemic. I’m glad they are still open because they ladies here are so nice and do a really good job. The location is convenient because the parking garage is close by and also the bus stop (not sure what line) is also close. The ladies do such a good job and it’s always quiet. Something to note, it’s cash only on Sundays. Anyway, I think I’m ready to get back out there and make this my nail place. I need some me time:)

Staci Palmer I went in to get a gel pedicure and a regular manicure. I have been coming to this shop for 22 years. This is the very first time that they did a horrible job. Yvonne the owner did my gel pedicure and as you can see from the photos it is absolutely horrible. Her daughter Qui did my manicure and she didn’t even rub my forearms as she did a quick hand massage. I love them I truly do but this is not acceptable. I will not be patronizing Tulip Nails anymore. I paid $63.00 and it was not worth it at all. Their quality of service has really deteriorated. If anybody has any suggestions for a good quality Nail Salon please advise. Very Disappointed Customer!

Courtney Willing I’ve never wanted to review a nail salon after a bad service but this place is not good. Terrible job. Nice people but not recommended. Took 2 hours and I’m still walking out of the salon with dip powder all over my finger tips - totally unacceptable.

We brainstorm some cool designs together. Honestly, the customer service here is unmatched. Big shoutout to Tulip Nails!
