Susanne Nielsen I am not one to leave a negative review but if there’s one thing I don’t like it’s being lied to regarding pricing. I was told that the Dip manicure would be $53 and I ended up being charged $3 more. it’s not the amount, but the principal. Also Dip manicures if done correctly do not require UV lamps! And to add insult to injury she said because she used the UV lamp that they charge three dollars more which she knew I didn’t want to begin with! And she didn’t offer the dip manicure without it. They also only offer one week guarantee versus the usual 2 weeks, and on day 5 they already started cracking off (See picture) so a $56 dip plus tip lasted only five days, what a joke. This may be decent a place to go for gel manicures but definitely not dip manicures. Very disappointing experience. :/ Reply: I never asked for gel anything, just a dip manicure which usually includes just powder/ no gel or UV. I was on a business trip and no I did not alter my nails. Not sure why you bring up cutting my cuticles as I never asked for that. Since there are a couple of chips now, I’m just going to have them redone at my original place (they charge a few dollars more but I get a 10 day guarantee and they last three weeks). But thanks anyhow..

Rupa Prasad I recently started coming to this nail salon and have really enjoyed my experience. They do a great job with my nails and everyone is very nice and welcoming. The salon itself is cute and clean. I also love that you easily book appointments online. Would definitely recommend it to others!

Cindy Sun This is my go to nail salon in SD. The wait is short (if there’s any at all), the place is bright and spacious, and they always offer a beverage. Amy is the best! She friendly, professional, and fast. My last set that she did lasted a month and I always love all of her designs. The pedicures are also great - they have massage chairs and are always very considerate in making sure you’re comfortable. Highly recommend!

Gracell Mangahas RYAN AND KIM ARE SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!! Ryan did my Gel X Nails while Kim did my Gel Pedicure. I came in without any expectations but they simply just blew my mind. Their customer service in this entire salon is impeccable and rare in nail salons these days. I felt like a welcomed guest as opposed to just another paying customer. I showed Ryan a video on Instagram and he was able to recreate it and make it 100x better!! Kim is just extremely skilled in her pedicure skills and her massage at the end can put anyone at ease and relaxed! I genuinely enjoyed every moment!!

Monet Iams I came with my sister and mum to treat ourselves to a pedicure.. and boy was it a treat! These ladies are phenomenal! Laurie took care of me and gave me the best massage ever and managed to get off all of my callous… which is a task in itself! I highly recommend the European pedi which is a great deal and they offer complimentary mimosa, beer or wine! Best nails in San Diego so if you’re looking for a new spot to frequent or are just visiting, this is seriously the place for you! If I could give them 10 stars I would!

Michelle Nguyen This salon was recommended to me by a friend and I’m so glad that I went! The salon was clean and looked newly renovated. Sandy was my nail technician and she did an amazing job with my nails. I opted for a gel-x set and she was really quick with the application. I wasn’t exactly sure what kind of design I wanted, but Sandy and the receptionist, Mary, provided me with lots of great suggestions. We settled on doing a simple cat eye ombré with stars and it came out so nice. Sandy was very meticulous and made sure that there wasn’t too much negative space on my nails when doing the design. Overall, I’m extremely happy with my nails and will be coming here from now on!

Riley Ashley I have been coming to this nail salon for 3 years and every time I leave happy. Ben takes my design ideas and matches them perfectly or makes them better. He watched tutorial videos before my appointment to learn how to do the Hawaiian flowers I wanted lol. Plus I’m always picky about my French tips and he will wipe them off and start over if I’m not happy. I used to stay quiet at other nail salons and go home and cry over the imperfections. Ben makes me feel like I can speak up because he is a perfectionist too.

Charity Christie-Foster I am so pleased! Both of my nail technicians were so attentive to detail and made my nails look great! They spent a lot of time on them and didn’t rush at all, which made me feel very taken care of. It’s a little on the expensive side, but for the great service and results, it’s worth it! I will definitely be coming back here.

Gillian McDivitt May is wonderful! She always takes care of me and puts in the extra effort and detail on my nails. I work a job that is rough on my hands and since I’ve started coming to May my manicures last longer. No breaks, no lifting. I will come back to May for as long as I can!

Stephanie Nguyen My favorite nail salon! I’ve tried quite a few places but I can safely say this is the one I always go back to. Nice, clean place with very friendly staff. I never request anyone because anyone I’ve ever gotten has done a great job on my nails. I’ve gone to places with bad cuticle cuts or my polish chipping off a day later but I have consistently gotten great service here every time. I don’t live nearby this place anymore but I will make the extra drive to see them. Lots of different color options and lots of varying services for your manicure and pedicure needs. Give them a try, they won’t disappoint

Camille sulangi I had an amazing experience at Nails Paradise and Spa! The nail technician was incredibly skilled and detail-oriented, making sure my nails looked absolutely perfect. The ambiance of the salon was so relaxing—peaceful music, a clean and elegant setup, and an overall calming atmosphere that made the visit feel like a treat. What made it even more special was that they also do kids’ nails! My daughter had the best time picking out her color, and she absolutely loved her blue nails. The staff was so patient and kind with her, making it a fun and enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a talented nail tech in a soothing and welcoming environment, this is the place to go. Sarah A. This is a no frills salon that does the job! I was in the area looking for a quick pedicure and color change to my gel manicure and found this place on Google Maps. I was able to walk in without an appointment and got my nails done by Helen. She was super kind and easy to chat with. She did both my hands and my feet. I took one star off due to lack of decor/ambience. The salon is very clean but there is very little decor. It feels very empty inside. I think they could definitely work on making the salon more inviting in terms of decor. Overall, they do a great job and are very friendly. I would definitely come back.

Caroline Nalezny Garcia My first time trying InStyle Nails and I cant believe I havent been there sooner! Lora did a fantastic job on my nails! It was my first time trying builder gel. She talked me through it and listened to what I requested and matched exactly the shape, length, and colors that I requested. We had a wonderful chat while she worked on my nails. 2 weeks later and theyve grown out beautifully. I will definitely be coming back to see Lora. :) The shop is clean and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Alexandra Schober I have been getting my nails done here for several months now and I absolutely love them every time! Mindy does such a great job. I used to do dip and acrylic but she convinced me to do building gel and I get this every time now! They always last me minimum 3 weeks and they look great. Its always easy to get in last minute too which I love. The staff is so friendly and remembers you. Their prices are also very reasonable!

Callie Warner I dont leave reviews, ever... When I do, they are either really good or really bad. This place is amazing! Ive been to so many random nail salons throughout the years and Ive finally found a place that I would drive out of my SD pocket to go to. Never before... I get so many compliments from the work they do here. I see many women just watching my hands because of how pretty my nails look. Plus their prices are extremely competitive compared to others. J. S. Really wish I had a more positive review to leave- I can tell the technicians are actually talented and do great work. However, the service was terrible and they ended up rushing my fill after double booking my appointment slot. Everything started out great, then about 20min in I noticed he was really rushing through and layering on the powder very unevenly. When I tried to point it out he said he would file it later, but he rushed through that too and left the nails looking uneven and thick in spots. Then I was told someone else would be taking over because he had another customer waiting. I had to wait about 10min for another tech to attend to me because she had been finishing up an intricate design on another customer’s nails. When she finally got around to me, she aggressively rushed the polish so that she could go back to her other customer and photograph the work she had done for her. The photo of my nails is only one day after getting them done. The polish is clearly uneven, and the edges and cuticles are messy. As soon as she was done she rushed off to attend to someone else. I never even had the chance to show her the dips and gaps in the polish. I just paid and left, knowing I wouldn’t come back.

varshita gara I had a great experience before hence came the second time. Manicurist was good and attentive and friendly. Johnny was for pedicure. Great massage and ok cleaning etc. does not do ingrown so you know. Very serious and not very helpful. I asked if the nails were dry and could leave… he was short and would not give a straight answer. The staff is welcoming to regular customers and not the greatest to others! I will not be coming back.

Kathy Engleman Oh my God I love this place! I get pedicures and they all do such a nice job and theyre so nice. Lately Ive been getting more expensive pedicures with lots of scrubs and masks and massage and things which are amazing, but their Classic Spa which I used to always get is great, too, and very affordable. They recently redecorated and its quite lovely. Amy was amazing today, and theyre all so great Ive never really bothered to ask for anyone in particular. Gentle but thorough, and my toes always look great. Lots of polish to choose from, and you can bring some from home if you prefer. Been coming here for at least 12 years. Its easy to make and reschedule appointments by text - very convenient. Location is great, plenty of parking. Tip generously - their margins cant be very great with the prices they charge for the amount of time they spend with you.

Avani Sawant I called on the number on the website to schedule my appointment. It was clean and friendly. I was amazed at how quick they did my fill for my acrylic nails. The nail tech was nice and gentle. She did it exactly as I wanted it. I loved my visit and I will definitely go again. UPDATE I visited a second time and I got a purple gel polish manicure. It turned out super cute. The nail tech was really nice and let me test two colors on my nail before I chose one. It’s been more than a week and they still look so fresh and good! It was $32 w/o tip. I had a good experience UPDATE- I love going here and I have found Van to be my favorite for nails. She’s amazing and so detailed!

Beatriz Aguirre Absolutely terrible experience… a second time in a row. I went there for a gel removal and regular manicure. They left my nails paper thin. The lady kept passing on and on the machine file, even after there was no trace of gel. Now I can bend my nails inwards very easily. This will take at least six months to heal. Going on to the manicure, they didn’t even bother in pushing my cuticle (or cutting it), not to mention they didn’t clean the sides of the nails by removing dead layers of skin! So more than a manicure, this was a change of colour, although I paid for a regular manicure. The lady kept saying on and on how I should get a gel, and how a regular manicure chips after a few days (well… here it chips while you’re still inside the salon)! I guess gels makes their lives easier lol But the worst part, is to witness how manicurists speak in a different language and laugh between them about the clients. Completely disrespectful and very uncomfortable. They’re all about the gossip. They were rude after I asked them to repair nails they have chipped after hitting them accidentally with their own acetone cleaning pencil. Look at the picture, this is my “manicure” after a few hours. Never again! P.S. the last time I got an expensive French gel manicure and the bottom part unattached from my nail after only 3 days. Had to remove it before Christmas…

Molly Mullaney I went to Lulu Nail’s today for the first time for a fill. I had gotten a full set elsewhere a couple weeks ago and was not happy with the results (they were way too thick, wide and short..The shape was all wrong.) So I was nervous they weren’t going to be able to fix them. Wendy was my nail tech. I showed her a picture and explained what I wanted. I’ll be honest..anytime I show a picture, they never look like it. But this time was different. Wendy gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. I’m very picky and particular. She took her time and made sure I was happy throughout the entire process. She was so sweet and patient. Her attention to detail is amazing. I will definitely be back. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

Anna J This was my second visit to Lulu’s- I made a same-day appointment online for a DIP service. I highly recommend booking a time because they are very popular. I was greeted warmly by the manager/owner, Lulu. I was seated close to the front desk and saw every client interaction with Lulu- She treats every person who walks in like family and listens to exactly what you want for your service and answered all questions you may have. I’ve never seen such genuine interest in clients at any other salon. I showed a few photos for inspiration- I wanted a very light pink, translucent, natural look- and Lulu spoke with my nail tech, Tammy, to decide the best products to use. Tammy did an amazing job, I have never had such good attention to detail! I left with a smile on my face because I have never had my nails look exactly like the photo I bring in. The service was $55 and I tipped in cash- you can’t add tip to the credit card purchase so bring cash with you, or they have an ATM. My first visit few weeks ago- I went in to get a broken nail fixed. The man at the front desk was very kind and called Lulu over to look at the broken nail and help decide what the best fix was. They had it repaired quickly and I was very happy with $7 for one nail. It looked great and matched the rest of my nails which I had done at another salon. Very satisfied with both visits to Lulu’s!

Juliana DeMarici This is a great salon. I wanted a change bc my regular place is just too far and I tried Lulu’s bc of the reviews. This place is well run, clean and the service is great. I normally get hard gel with a gel color. They have a great selection of OPI colors. I went to Angela. I normally only get either Dutch tulips red or a maroon. I do love this color and when I asked her what the name was, she said “it’s #64, I’ll remember when I see your nails”. Definitely planning on seeing her again! Found my new salon!

Kylee Wilhelm My first time at Lavish Nails was great! My nail tech Nam asked many questions about my preferences and he was very meticulous with each step. Lately when I get my nails done, salons will spend 2 seconds on my cuticles but this was not the case here. This will be my new go-to salon!

Deborah Shirley I went in to get a perfect manicure and spa pedicure, but ended up with a SHOODY WORK on my fingernails. I enjoy treating myself, so today, I had a couple hours to enjoy a relaxing time of pampering - I decided to drive over to Lavish. I had been there a few weeks back, and the nail technician was very nice and did my nails to my liking. I was very pleased the first time. I should have left a review, and then I would have remembered the lady by name and booked an appointment with her. I decided to try Lavish again because Its near where I live. I was a walk-in. Ohmy what a miserable mistake I made. I asked for the classic service. I felt it should be done correctly because its easy. Just Polish. No designs. Classic. The lady who guided me over to the spa chair started off really nice and pleasant. She began the services running water in the spa for my feet. Then she took my right foot, and used a little bitty tiny amount of nail polish remover, soon after that she started to use a nail drill on the top of my big toenail, then moved to the next toes fairly quickly and removed some of my top polish using different nail drill bits. I should have asked her immediately what happened to using only polish remover, and then I should have asked a follow-up question about the purpose of using a drill to remove nail polish. I waited because I tend to be very trusting, and I was thinking to myself shes the expert. It took me 2 more seconds of watching her filing off the blue nail polish and watching the nail dust shavings before I asked her about using a nail drill. When I did inquire, her reply was that it was $8.00 in addition to the classic pedicure service. "For what?"I kindly asked. Her reply was gel nail polish takes longer to remove. I was mildly upset. She told me sorry. I smilingly mentioned she should have told me beforehand. She then sold me on the cost of getting the gel again. I gave in to the upselling. I like how my pedicure turned out. But I should have been advised about the $8 before the service was started. I should have been advised to let me know the cost of everything up front, no surprises! I get a little annoyed with being told one thing and then get started only to find out theres additional cost for the services. The reason for this review is the way that my manicure looks. Im disappointed. The nail polish wasnt dry all the way when I was told that it was. She checked two fingers by rubbing them. Then she thanked me. So then I went to the front desk receptionist to pay. I gently pulled my car keys out of my loose fitting wide pocket light jacket, and my polish hadnt hardened, and it smudged. I showed my 5 ruined nails to the front desk. I was still standing there because I had just paid with my credit card. Btw, they charge an additional 3% to use a credit card. Bring cash. The front desk receptionist will tell you that the owner will only accept cash. To finish up my story on my experience... I was left sitting at the front door, getting my nails fixed. Whatever the polish was, it melted as soon as I stepped across the threshold. The smell of the polish is that of epoxy paint rather than nail polish. It smells bad. The strong smell gave me a headache. The nails, after just a couple of hours, have air bubbles and are shrinking away from my cuticles, and that isnt cute. Im hiding my hands in public because Im embarrassed to show my shoddy manicure. "$75!!! for that!!!"My husband said when he saw the credit card receipt and my manicure. He had initially thought that I watched a YouTube video and did the manicure myself to save money. Thats how bad it looks. See for yourself.

Rose Earle I went in for a fill and mani pedi added extra foot message and gel polish. $107… I give the younger lady 5stars, the pedicure was done well. My fill and manicure was a bit of a rush job and it shows in the results but if the older lady had taken her time I would have rated 5 for her as well. Polish was a little uneven and bled to my cuticles. I didn’t check her work before leaving. :/

Kiley Knight I have been here a few times and both Nancy and Le have taken great care and done a phenomenal job on my nails! I have gotten anything from chrome, magnet designs, and french designs, and each experience has been amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I got a bio gel manicure and my daughter (6) got a kids manicure. We love our nails and a week later they still look freshly done. The staff was so sweet and professional. Highly recommend. Theresa Norton Love this place! My nails always seem to last forever when I get them done here with Lee, she really knows her stuff. Tom probably gave me the most meticulously detailed pedi ever. So much care! If you come in on the weekend and theyre busy, it can get a bit chaotic so try to come in on a weekday before 6 or early in the mornings on weekends. Its so convenient since its in my neighborhood and I havent had a bad experience yet.

alyzza villarreal I have now been here 3 times and all 3 times have been amazing! First I saw Holly, then Nancy, and now Lee. All 3 were amazing at doing my acrylic fill. I just got basic gel polish the first 2 times. And now with Lee I got a design on my hand nails and she did a great job. My pedicure was amazing too. I forgot to get the ladies name but her massage was wonderful and much needed! Definitely will be coming back, as it is clean, they’re do amazing work, and they aren’t overpriced either!

Amina Emenena I really love SK Nails, but I’ve had a bad experience with one person two times here out of many great experiences and decided to share. I got my nails done on Saturday by a different nail tech than I requested. There was a mixup when I booked and my preferred tech was out. When I arrived I was placed with the tech, who I won’t name but I’ve had a bad experience with her previously. There is no way that my nails should be looking like they did. Fortunately I was able to fix them myself but I had to share this experience since it’s the second time. SK is great, just be weary of the nail tech that you work with. I didn’t feel comfortable enough calling this out while I was there unfortunately.

Glory California I didn’t know it at the time but I was the last pedicure of the night. Rosy treated me so wonderfully I wouldn’t have even known I was the latest appointment. I love that. Leaving a $20 tip for her on top of a $70 pedicure. It was completely worth it. Her hot stone massage almost put me to sleep. The pina colada pedicure smells amazing. I 1000% appreciate it.

Kayla Mora Joanne gave me an amazing pedicure! I was so relaxed and enjoyed talking to her. She also double checked I liked my french tip to ensure I loved how they came out. 10/10 experience i’ll definitely be back!!

Nasiq Yusuf Very beautiful and clean space, first time there. The experience wasn’t the best but also wasn’t the worst. My cuticles wile hurt during the filing and I got an acrylic shirt mommy nails for $60 which was overpriced. But I like how clean and comfortable their space is and the ladies are super friendly.

Tierra Stoute I love this place and have been going for a while now. But I had an interaction today that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I’m not an aggressive person nor am I confrontational but I could not have this poor interaction go unnoticed. If you have a job that entails customer service and you say something to them but they clearly can’t hear you, you don’t need to catch an attitude and start tapping your hand on the desk right in front of the customer. It’s hostile and not professional at all in my opinion.

Vicky/Vinh did my gel manicure & suggested the wax moisturizer treatment because of my dry skin & upcoming winter weather. I asked her to not sand my actual nail, she said she wouldnt, but all of my natural nails have drill grooves + not all of the polish was even removed. I expected a soak off, not purely drilling it away. Do not come here for this service at all if you want to preserve and protect your natural nails. Otherwise, nice, clean, efficient, etc.

Camille Berry I love having my nails done at Finesse Nails. The salon is so clean, and the technicians are the best. Today I had a spa pedicure. The spa pedicure massage chairs are brand new this year, and upgraded, they warm and massage and vibrate. Most importantly, everything is lined, single use and sanitary. For pedicures, I always request my nail tech Gina. She gives the greatest pedicures. She really takes her time and focuses on every step. I am so relaxed and happy. For my nails, I get a gel manicure by Tony. He is incredible with his attention to detail and perfection in every step. He really cares about the results being exactly right. Tony is an expert at acrylics, gel nail art, and extra long nails. I have been coming here for over 2 years and it is the only place I trust to do my manicure and pedicure. The managers on duty are always very attentive. Come to Finesse Nails and experience an elevated nail salon experience.

I called and they were able to see me within 30 minutes (the time it took to drive over), she worked quickly (but did not rush me) and without lowering the quality at all (which I appreciate, my time is important). I make same day appointments typically within a half hour from when I call. The salon typically offers a beverage including sangria. I do wish they used the hard gel for 3D art but the several applications of gel overlay also works. Definitely recommend. Very clean.

Diana Paloma Fantastic experience. Highly recommend. I walked over while getting my car serviced at the Volvo dealer. What an amazing find. The owner Viet welcomed me as I entered. The nail spa is peaceful, super clean and airy. Emmy gave me an amazing pedicure and manicure that was so relaxing. They pay close attention to detail providing the total spa experience. The hot steamy towels on the feet and legs and a special massage with cbd cream made me feel like I was on vacation. They also use quality products. Viet does flawless French nails. They even had a special nail dryer for the natural nail manicure. They are very gracious and offer you alkaline water and Vietnamese coffee. Viet brought me a Vietnamese coffee with whipped cream. It tasted like a special dessert. Just overall wonderful experience with very kind, caring people who take pride in their work.

I’ve been to other places and they just tell you after the service was done. Cash is king so if you come here, be sure to bring cash. If you ever have a question about something, they’re very friendly, so don’t be shy.

Kimberley Jwa They’re super nice but unfortunately my gel manicure chipped super quickly. I got my manicure done on Friday only to have my thumb nail chip by Monday. Again were really nice and willing to repaint the nail as is their policy but I went to repaint my chipped nail and it chipped again the day after. I only washed my hands, nothing strenuous or labor intensive on the hands. For over 80 dollars I would’ve hoped it lasted more than a day. I think there’s a chance it might not be gel since my gel manicure from a previous salon lasted over a month without chipping. Unfortunately I am out of town and won’t be able to get my manicure fixed again but don’t think that would fix the issue. Maybe for acrylics or other services it would be more durable.

Samantha McCoy I found Kensington Nails and Spa during the 2020 pandemic when everything was shut down but were allowed to operate outside. I could not find a nail salon anywhere that was open other than here. It had great reviews so I took a chance and the rest is history. I met the owner Kate when I first went and I just loved her efficiency, sense of humor, and overall professionalism. I have gone through most of the nail techs at the salon and theyre all great. However, I stick with Tiffany when I go now. I do acrylic sets and gel pedicures and they are always long-lasting and stunning. They also offer complimentary drinks like water, orange juice, etc. They accept cards, but also have an ATM, and some techs accept Venmo if needed. The bathroom is also impeccable and Im comfortable to use it whenever I need to.

Gabriela Mendes I just had the worst experience of my life. I had a pedicure appointment ( that it was awesome) but unfortunately I also had a gel manicure service that it was terrible. The quality of the service it was awful. My nails looked like a one month growing up nail. My cuticles were 90% still on my fingers and the color started almost in the middle of the finger. And besides that, the color was super thick. I will be traveling tomorrow and I thought I was going to have a good nails for my trip but it was so bad that went back and asked to be removed from my finger and now I’ll do by myself at home. It’s a place that I won’t recommend and won’t be going back. It wasn’t worth almost $40 for this kind of service.

Eleonora Milo The older lady that did these nails was horrible and took forever. We begged her to clean the old nail polish off and she left the black all under her nails saying it was “too strong” to get off when that’s her literal job, we even offered to pay more just so it would be cleaner. It was so messy the pictures speak for themselves, we could’ve done a better job without paying over 50 dollars. When we complained the manager was completely unhelpful and rude and denied how bad they look trying to make up excuses and didn’t care. She would only reimburse half of the service and she wrote down our debit card number saying she will “call tomorrow “ to have us refunded which is very shady and suspicious. Overall horrible customer service and skill and that old lady just needs to be fired because other workers there like May are very good.

Jack Me Based on reviews I gave it a chance. Im a guy who isn’t too experienced in nail grooming. I went yesterday, got a pedi/man. The (gel)mani: polish uneven, chipping already (hasn’t even been 24rs), and they have some little bubbles in them. From what I’m told my cuticles don’t looked touched. The(no gel) pedi: was not pleasing, the lady who did them had a really nasty attitude. But, she could have just had a rough day, so I excused it. To the contrary the more experienced (in age) woman, who did my nails had the sweetest smile and was warm and welcoming. However, for what I paid I’m sure I could have gotten a better job done elsewhere. Once again, I’m not a nail expert, but even I can tell the job was done poorly. Nonetheless, I tipped well, bc I admire artistry and respect the craft, but I won’t be back :).

Khuyen Phan This is what my nails currently look like despite only getting them done 3 days ago - on Jan 23rd. It looks like I’ve had the nails on for at least a week. An older lady did my nails and her gel-x application was quick, hence the sloppiness. I can assure you that probably only 2-3 nails actually turned out good and doesn’t look overgrown. This is not my first time at the NewMe nails but it is the only time that I have left unsatisfied with the experience.

Stephanie Pyle I decided to give this nail salon a try and immediately regret my decision. I requested almond shape and the work is so poor. This was not only a waste of time, but also a waste of $60. I received uneven, crooked, thick nails, that are actually painful given how they are angled up (which is NOT how my nails grow, and even if it was - a good tech knows how to make them straight.) The nails are way too angled up, it feels like they are being pulled. I’ll have to go get these removed tomorrow and redone. I can’t say that a single nail lines up or is even, and the guy was actually checking this the entire time. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Melissa K Unfortunately a chop shop. I was nearby and it had great reviews so I popped in to see if they had time just to remove my acrylic set I had gotten done on vacation (which were still beautiful) as they were quite long and my job requires a lot of typing so I just wanted to take them off and have a gel mani done on my almond-shaped natural nails which were still present underneath the acrylics. I probably should have gotten out of the chair when the nail tech asked me the price of my bracelet which I found strange but I decided to stay and proceeded to have my nails and cuticles be butchered. She chopped the acrylics off so short with no consideration for my natural nail underneath, and dremeled off the rest which is fine except that as she got closer to my skin she didn’t slow down at all and proceeded to nick my index finger (again, fine, it happens) and then just straight up dremel into my ring finger so badly I jumped. She then proceeded the press down on it while apologizing and put the acetone soaked cotton BACK on my finger to soak which hurt so badly and prevented me from seeing the cut, which I didn’t realize was as bad as it is. She kept cutting my nails shorter and shorter and using the dremel a bit haphazardly but I eventually called it quits completely when she dropped the buffer on the ground by her feet and instead of getting a new one just starting to buff my nails and cut cuticles with that one. I have no idea why she was rushing so intensely (I get I was a walk-in, but if you have no time don’t RUSH and ruin my nails, just say NO) but I ended up paying this place $16 to destroy my $250 Japanese manicure and ruin my natural nails. Eventually they’ll grow back out but I definitely will not be returning here once they do. See pics to reference the gorgeous mani I walked in with (albeit two weeks grown out, but ultimately unblemished and unchipped) and what my nails unfortunately look like now.

Valeria Coronado I give 2 stars because the person who did my pedi was very nice and kind and my nails looked nice. I wanted to love this place and be my regular salon but nope. I did my nails on a Friday by Sunday one of my nail broke a little bit out of nowhere I was out of town for a weeding so I wasn’t doing any housekeeping or anything that could accidentally brake my nail. On Friday when I arrived I asked for acrílico with gel on top, I needed something mucha stronger than gel because I was having this issue with other salon. One lady told me she could do powder nails since it was stronger and they will last, well 2 days later… here I am in the same annoying situation. I called on Sunday and see if they could fix it and they just say that they didn’t have a spot to attend me. I feel like if you want to give a good customer service you could try your best to fix a job you did wrong in the first place. I don’t think it takes too long to fix a nail. Maybe some people don’t care about it, but others (like me) do.

They prefer cash, however I wasn’t aware so zelle for a tip and Apple Pay to pay. Also, be mindful of parking, street parking using an app to pay. Also, the wax lady is not present everyday, so I wasn’t able to get my brows done. Next time.

Crissy Leen So Happy for this beautiful family business that just opened their Nail Spa. But I’m Tom’s client for more than a year and simply love his art. He takes his time but at the same time is so focus in doing an amazing job. His designs are not only unique but well done. His wife also do manicure and is such a sweetheart. Katie Burlington AVOID. Ive been attempting to go here since it was Rendezvous nails but havent had a single good experience. They cant do designs of any type and somehow the length of time for the same service is always inconsistent. All but one of their techs cant communicate with you. They literally shame you if you dont cash tip. There is no massage, drinks or anything else high end other than the price. The Breaking point was me making a appointment for a very expensive acrylic set and pedicure (which by the way runs usually $160 + tip) for a wedding - parking was hard so I walked in 9 minutes late and they said "youre 15 minutes late and we took someone else" ....except I wasnt 15 minutes late and the entire salon was empty sans the one person who took my spot. I walked out. I anticipate they wont stay in business long at this rate.

Danielle Polendey Finding a nail salon where you get consistently great service and quality work can be very difficult to find. Apple Nails has been my only go to nail salon for 8+ years. I am never disappointed in their services. The effort and care they all put into making sure you have the best experience and service possible in unmatched in my opinion. Henry & Mimi are my absolute favorite to have do my nails. Henry did this new cats eye color on me today and I love it! It was my first time trying cats eye and I am in love. It is stunning. Danielle Polendey Finding a nail salon where you get consistently great service and quality work can be very difficult to find. Apple Nails has been my only go to nail salon for 8+ years. I am never disappointed in their services. The effort and care they all put into making sure you have the best experience and service possible in unmatched in my opinion. Henry & Mimi are my absolute favorite to have do my nails. Henry did this new cats eye color on me today and I love it! It was my first time trying cats eye and I am in love. It is stunning. The pictures don’t even do it justice. Emily always give me the best pedicures & massages, and is just the sweetest person. Everyone here is fantastic though! Natalie Me and my friend were able to walk in without appointments, very convenient. I got a gel manicure, and me and my friend both got pedicures. The total was like $113 before the tip which I think is a damn good deal for what you get. Im happy with how my cuticles turned out, so many other places will drill your cuticles or cut too far and make you bleed and this is one of the only salons that got it right. Our feet were so crusty before our pedicures and now they are soft and look great. Plus the lady who did my nails was super sweet.

Ririz Buu I was a walk-in on a Saturday morning and got a gel pedicure. I didn’t have to wait long for service, although parking was a bit difficult given the area. I like that they don’t skimp out on the massage, which is a pleasant and rare surprise, and used a scrub + clay mask on my legs and feet. They take their time, which gives more time in the massage chair :) The salon is a no frills kind of place and gets the job done.

Vika Crisostomo First and last time here. Tim did an amazing job and was super friendly and did everything I wanted for my nails. Great customer service and attention to detail. I love my nails. Only thing is the price. I usually do my nails in Tijuana Mexico because it’s more affordable. Over the phone when I was price checking I booked with them because they stated acrylic was $55+. I didn’t realize it would go up to $20. These acrylic nails with design cost $75 without tip. This is why this will be the first and last because of the price is so high. Back to Mexico I go. Other than that great time there.

Corinna The first time I went here there is no doubt in my mind I would have given them 5 stars. I still stand by that as long as it’s the wife or husband owner that does your nails. The second time I went the girl I had about cut one of my little toes off (exaggeration… but she got me good)and nicked two of my cuticles on my fingers making them all bleed. She painted them beautifully but for how much I had to bleed for it was crazy. I was also not happy she did not soak my gel off and instead sanded it off and made my nails thinner than necessary. At the end of it all she still asked for a tip?!

Zoe Miller I absolutely love this place! I used to get my nails done every once in a blue moon, but I have been getting them done 4 months in a row now because it’s just so good! The gel they use doesn’t peel up at the bottom (even after 4 weeks) and it is very strong so it doesn’t chip. Also, all the nail techs pay lots of attention and care when doing your nails. The prices are very fair, I usually pay around $50-60 after tip for a gel manicure with removal of the old gel, cuticle care, and a short hand/arm massage. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

Latasha anderson I had to make this post before I even left the parking lot. The $150 I spent on my nails and toes were wasted. I finally found an image of the nails I wanted and showed the young lady- she then got an attitude and started speaking her native language and started laughing with everyone else when I didn’t like the initial PURPLE color she put on my nails. Another lady stepped in to try and assist in creating the cat eye design I wanted and at that point I was over it so I just said ok. The nasty attitude girl then finished my nails while I was still in the pedicure bowl, handed me my shoes (I put them back on myself- which they normally do for paying nail customers) THEN PROCEEDED TO STAND BEHIND ME AS I PUT THEM ON AND PUSHED TWO CARTS AND THE CHAIR SHE WAS SITTING IN OUT OF THE WAY JUST FOR ME TO GET TO THE COUNTER AND PAY. Her attitude was insane. Everyone else kinda laughed and joked saying let her out which I found extremely disrespectful as a black woman meanwhile there are 10 other people in the business getting serviced with the kindest interactions possible. Will NEVER set foot back into this disrespectful shop. Go somewhere else. They talked mess about me, laughed at me and then did a terrible job on my nails!!!!!!!!! Tatem Chase While this was my first time at this salon, I did not have the greatest experience. The man who did my nails was very aggressive & seemed to only get worse because I asked him to be a little gentler. I was uncomfortable & could not get the true salon experience of being able to relax due to this. Also, I wanted short almond due to my work and he told me to get square because short almond is too hard to do. He did end up still doing them how I wanted and they turned out okay which is why I give them a 3 star review. They also only accept cash to which you have to use their atm and it is not disclosed at the beginning. However, there is a small sign for it in the salon.

Yesterday was no different and I really appreciate how thorough and precise the technician was. My dip manicure looks super clean with great coverage and she did a good job clipping away dry skin and cuticles. I get the iNailology manicure and pedicure that includes salt scrub, lotion and oil massage and warm paraffin. I very much appreciate the lovely arm, hand and calf massages that are so relaxing. Ill always come back here when Im in SD

Jessica Leplomet HEALTH HAZARD. My friend and I just left this salon and we are upset! My friend had acrylic nails and asked for a fill. The technician did not understand that she had powder on top of her acrylics , so the technician soaked them in acetone for an hour and they came off! My friend did not want the nails to come off! She repeatedly asked for a fill with powder and the tech did not understand. So, when her nails came off, my friend was upset and asked for a gel manicure instead. The technician was rude, yelled at her, and had the audacity to charge her $10 for acrylic nail removal! We tried to tell her why we were upset and that she should not charge us the $10, but she kept telling, yelling actually, us “you wanted powder but then you changed to gel”. They also need to update the numbers on their nail polishes. Had a hard time matching regular colors with gel and they got frustrated with us and made us change colors several times. Never coming back here again! Last thing, when my friend came home , the nail polish on her toes rubbed right off!!

Guy Y I am an elderly gentleman and only started getting pedicures. I tried Uptown Nail Salon on November 5,2024 for the first and last time. The technician was not very good. Trimming my big toe, she cut into the flesh and I bled for 15 minutes in the salon. The toe was painful all night. To her credit she was very concerned and attentive to the toe after the accident. The massage chair did not work properly and there was no sign that the technician had clean tools. Unfortunately, the place is dangerous and I have only ½ foot clipped (badly).

Che C All the ladies here are absolutely amazing. They are so kind and generous. I love how sweet they are. They are so good to me and my kiddo. This has become our new and only nail salon that we will frequent in San Diego. Our nails always look so beautiful after and they take good care of us if our nail paint chips. Everyone here is so kind and welcoming.

C C I came for a pedicure and cuticle trim/clean up and was talked into doing a manicure instead as the price would be similar. That was no big deal at all. An employee sat next to me as I’m reading a book during my pedicure, placed a pillow on my lap and begin grabbing my hands away from my book without saying a word or giving me a chance to put it away. Again, no big deal just kind of inconsiderate. The “manicure” was the problem. I attached pictures of the final product after returning to my car. There was still polish on my cuticles, dirt under my nails and she did not file or shape my nails before standing up and saying “thank you” after less than 10 minutes. At which time I asked if she was going to file them and showed her the oval shape I would like. I also asked if she can make them look cleaner and pointed out the polish and dirt. She again said “thank you” and stood up after brushing them with acetone and filing maybe 5 of my nails. I then asked politely if I can just do it myself since I usually do anyway so she gave me the file and I shaped them up myself. I paid in full and left a tip, even after hearing them talk about me in their native language as the only word I understood was “oval” and then was rushed out by what I assumed was the manager. I was very passive and kind throughout this experience and it was just oddly unpleasant. I wish I spoke up at the time so I write this to encourage others to speak up and be assertive. Standing up for yourself with kindness does not mean being passive. Do not leave an establishment until you are satisfied with the service provided. Or just avoid this spot. Either works.

Hannah Clitheroe I’ve been to multiple salons here in San Diego and got annoyed at my nails either chipping or not looking how I wanted. Seaport Nails is the ONLY salon that makes my nails look how I want them too and they last 4+ weeks without chips! The salon is gorgeous inside, clean, and the workers are all amazing and nice! The pricing is really good too, $55 for dip nails is much better than $60+ at most salons I’ve been too!

Jennifer Engel The pedicures are amazing here- I splurge on the deluxe with 2 optional treatments- ( I got the paraffin wax and callous removal- $51 seemed like a bargain. Pretty salon that is clean and comfortable. Tami is fabulous. you can find this in the shopping area that fronts Harbor Drive at Seaport Village-behind the Cheesecake Factory - you can use the Seaport parking to pay $5 for up to 2 hours on Fridays and Saturdays- the same courtyard has a great Poke place and wine bar too. Gem. I always wait for the pedicure chair by the window! (2nd picture is the view from that chair)

Ajanae Matthews I’ve had an outstanding experience here! Lisa and Vicky are the two who’ve done my manicures and pedicures, and I absolutely love both them and their work. The salon is clean, spacious, and even has an ATM on-site, which is super convenient for tips. My mom’s been a regular for a while, and I’m so glad I decided to come with her. My nails turned out perfect—exactly how I wanted in terms of shape—and even after two weeks, they still looked great. Honestly, I could have gone another week and a half before needing a touch-up. Next time, I’ll probably wait three weeks between appointments. I paid $120 for a gel manicure and deluxe gel pedicure, and it was totally worth it!❤️

Natalie Mercado Dip nails are my go to. Every other time I go I have a great expierence. I put dip on my natural nails which are fairly long. I had to start requesting they apply the base clear layer to help strengthen my natural nail. I didn’t have to request before. And nail tech was hesitant to apply the base for me after I explained when they don’t apply my nails break and chip within days. I’m hoping my next visit I have better results because I really loved this place and their creativity when I’m stumped on what to do next.

They came out cute and everything but the same day I had to come back because one of the bows fell off, the lady fixed it whatever later that day both bows fell off and the paint on the nails staring chipping. Sara Burkard Concholar Overall, this is a nice salon, and I know many women who come here. However, I think Im done. *Things do seem clean, their prices are competitive, and everything appears well-organized – especially during the day. I’ve visited a few times without major issues, though each time there were minor things I didn’t love – just not enough to write a review about until now. Unfortunately, my most recent visit made me feel uncomfortable and question whether it’s worth coming back. I understood a little of what the staff were saying, assuming I didn’t understand. I couldn’t follow the entire conversation, but I caught enough to know they were talking about me, other clients, and even the owner. When I first arrived, I asked for advice on a nail color to match a bridesmaid dress. Since I’m not particularly into general beauty, I was hoping for some guidance. As soon as I asked, the woman made a comment to her coworkers that I couldn’t fully understand, and they all laughed. It immediately made me feel uncomfortable. During my manicure, the nail tech mentioned something about adjusting the cost to the tech who appeared to be the manager and told her to just let her know what price she should tell me. I ended up being charged an extra $5 because my nails were supposedly “long” and needed to be cut. When I asked about the extra charge, she said it was because of the length of my nails, which were natural and not long at all – she barely trimmed them. Isn’t trimming part of a manicure? Earlier, I heard them saying amongst themselves that they sometimes make up their own prices, which I initially brushed off. However, when I was charged an extra $5, it felt like they might be doing this to many others. Now, about two weeks later, my gel polish is peeling. Not sure if thats a standard time for gel? This was my first time getting gel, and I was careful to preserve it, especially since I was so happy with how they looked. Interestingly, my toenails, with regular polish, still look fine and aren’t chipping. My husband also got a simple mani-pedi with no polish. They strongly recommended a callus removal add-on, which he agreed to, but he received the same treatment I did, without any extra service. Now that I think about it, it seems to reinforce the impression that they make up their own prices and add-ons. I understand that some clients may not tip well, but this approach of assuming we wouldn’t tip well and adjusting the bill instead doesn’t seem fair. At the end of his manicure they left his nails quite long and seemed to only have shaped them. It wasn’t a big deal, but we had to repeatedly emphasize that he wanted them as short as possible. Overall, it’s a nice salon, but it seems like the night staff have their own approach. They should be more cautious with their comments, assuming others don’t understand. I feel for the owner and hope they maintain the salon’s standards even when they’re not around.

Last night I went in and got a gelx manicure I was not really happy with so I came back first thing in the morning and Vivian was happy to redo my nails and make sure I left satisfied! The lady did mine gel nails she didn’t know what she was doing with the magnetic design With my friend, they took their time with her and her nails were fabulous and I was the one who paid for her nails. I like to give nail places a second chance. went again on Saturday 5/11/24 same gel different design. Now this time Rush through my Nails some The nails are not paint all the way you can still see through my nails and I don’t know what kind of cheap nails they used because my thumb nail is breaking. One of my nails are crooked And I don’t appreciate that they use me as a guinea pig The nail tech even said to me I taking $10 off because I’m just doing this for fun. I paid $70 for my nails. I was not there to be somebody’s guinea For you to try new ideas. I didn’t have time to look up my nails cause I had my daughter with me and they serviced my daughter. They did a good job with her. But my experience was not that great and I don’t think I’m coming . Especially when I tip I tip $20. They are nice but they rushed my nails again and used me As a guinea pig again.

Aarika Lorenscheit I saw Demi for about 6 years at Terris and never left a review because she is Terris best kept secret! Now that I have moved away, I wanted to give Demi the spotlight she deserves. Demi is so speedy, efficient, consistent, and very detailed. The cherry on top is that no matter what application I got, the nails did not lift or chip. The only reason I would go about every three weeks was due to outgrowth. Lastly, the salon is also renovated so well and has any color/ brand you could possibly want.

Alice Henderson I specifically started going to this salon because they were the only place I found that did Bio Gel manicures near me. Since then, I have been getting my nails done with Sarah. She does an absolutely amazing job every single time. The Bio Gel keeps my natural nails growing long and the way she does it, they never peel up. She is quick, yet I can tell she is very meticulous, and cares to make them perfect. The shape is always amazing and the polish is always done perfectly. Highly recommend!

Maris м I came here for the first time, I was looking for a regular manicurist nearby. Before that I read the reviews, there were a lot of positive ones, so I decided to come in. Manicure was done by a man, removal of the old coating was quick, then he immediately started the coating, until I stopped him and asked him to cut the cuticle, he cut from the top, after he saw that I was looking at the nails, he started to push back the cuticle and cut normally. He applied the coating with splotches and drips, trying to fix with more coats of varnish, but it didnt work. Tried to use two colors, but that didnt help either. I asked him to fix it, but it felt like he didnt understand what to do or how to do it. We ended up changing the color to a different color, but the same story happened again. I didnt say anything, I just wanted to leave. At the cash register, I paid without leaving a tip, as I believe that for such work to leave a tip is not worth it. My nails look worse than the ones I came in with originally. Severely over-sawn, drops of nail polish and different shapes. Its a shame for the time spent. Not recommended. Ilsa C I am from out of town and was hoping to find a good nail salon to fix my builder gel manicure that had gotten pretty rough. I came into Downtown Nail Salon and was given the fastest and best gel fill I’ve ever gotten. Anh was so sweet and did an amazing job, I cannot recommend her enough! As I type this I came back in the next day to get a pedicure I was so happy with my manicure!

Alicia Juarez Jenny and all her coworkers are super sweet. Great customer service. My husband and two sons were waiting for me and brought them water for them. I was not the only one taken care off also my family. Love my nails. I will definitely come back. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Patricia Reed I am very appreciative of this shop. It took me awhile to find a place in the city that actually did good quality nails. They are fast with the services and still manage to give me acrylic nails that last. I can actually go a solid month with no lifting or breakage. I recommend calling and making an appointment as something they get very busy.

Jasmine Lee Be careful who you go to for nail art. I made an appointment with Jenny (per suggestion from a friend), didnt get her to do my nails for some reason, got them done by some other random person. Once he started I knew it wasnt going to be done like I wanted and its my fault for not stopping at the beginning. I was trying to trust the process. The nails are lumpy, the color and gel go onto my finger, they are super chunky, its just not good. My fingers actually look fatter. Honestly, you can just tell that the art of doing nails doesnt matter here(the person that did my nails at least). I have had my nails done by people who really like doing nails and that was not the case here. So again...if you want NAIL ART, dont come here unless you KNOW the person. If you just want a pedicure with your nails painted...sure, why not. Pop in.

El Moondragon Yesterday I came in to get a manicure and I can say I will never come back. When asked what kind of manicure I wanted I said “just a regular with gel”. When the tech was cutting my cuticles she ripped a big piece of skin off. Her apology to me was “Oh sorry. You have a lot of skin.” And moved on like nothing happened. After I picked my color out she began to pain my nails and then randomly said “This is regular polish. You asked for regular. If it chips tomorrow, you asked for regular.” When I told her that a I wanted gel, she continued to paint my nails and respond “No you asked for regular.” Now my nails are chipping and my finger is infected. -10 out of 10. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Alessandra Recht I’ve been coming here for years and get an acrylic overlay manicure from Ming and Yen for my pedicures. They never disappoint! My design requests are not simple and Ming always makes my nails look fabulous!

Patrick McElroy This is something I wouldn’t just go out and do on my own and I have very limited experience with pedicures or manicures, however it’s something my girlfriend enjoys taking me to. I’ve been here twice now and both times the service has been top notch. The techs are kind and polite. 6 star customer service on a 5 star scale. The atmosphere is pleasant and the salon is very clean. I will continue coming here once a quarter.

Jules Shumate I am completely in love with these nails and the price I paid for them wasn’t even close to the prices I pay back at home in Cincinnati. All the things I loved: -tons of booking/times online, easy to book -they TEXT me (not automated) to confirm details of the appt. almost immediately. Very personalized. -the services: gel removal, manicure AND gel nails with chrome cost a total of $60 -the above only took 60 minutes tops. -for the massage part, they bust out a timer for so they are equitable about time! -there were four of the workers standing around these nails by the end telling me and the nail tech how beautiful they were (and they weren’t wrong) One thing to note: the location is not the same as the google maps location. They have a nail salon at 255 G Street, San Diego, CA 92101 so they may text to send you there. It was just a wonderful experience and anyone traveling into downtown San Diego should go here.

megan rowlands I really wanted to enjoy taking my daughter to get a manicure and pedicure at Bayside nails. However, we waited over 20 minutes past our appointment time to get started on the pedicures. There was no communication about when our manicures would start and after 45 minutes I let the manager know we no longer have time for a manicure. She offered to just have our nails painted so I’d be done in time. I agreed to have our nails painted and she tried to charge me for a full manicure treatment for myself and my daughter ($50). When I explained I would not pay those charges because I did not get that service she pushed back a few times. They do not validate parking which was $15 for 1.5 hours. I will not be going back because it was rushed and not the experience I expected. Additionally, my cuticle was injured.

ellary cohen Caitlin (or Kaitlin sorry) was absolutely amazing with my nails! The shape was perfect and she took her time making sure everything was 100% perfect. She took the time to really give me a wonderful massage too! Her mom, Lee, and Seven both worked on my toes. My pedicure was also given with such care & incredible massages. Highly recommend 10/10- so relaxing and amazing quality! Came here before a wedding I’m in and super proud to show my nails & toes off!

J. Andrew Speas I wanted to enjoy my experience here so bad. It had been some time since I got a full mani-pedi and I needed to treat myself. Bayside nail and spa was suggested by a friend who had a wonderful experience, but they do not usually get gel manicures or pedicures, but they take care of themselves so I trusted them. When my manicure was finished which happened simultaneously as my pedicure, the Manicurist had nicked my finger without saying anything in the moment. It was not until she sprayed alcohol across my fingers that she decided to tell me as I shuttered. There seemed to be a need to rush and I had already obliged them by coming in a half hour earlier than my original appointment time, so I was not pleased with the nature of being rushed through my services. The Pedicurist was equally as rough and nicked me a number of places on my feet, and spoke nothing of it. Because the last few minutes of it was dry it wasn’t until I got in the shower later that day and water hit my toes that I realized I had little cuts all over. Now it’s been less than three days and my gel polish is chipping on both my hands and feet. I got it done because of a wedding I’m attending this week so I am not pleased. Additionally, there was a massage section as one usually occurs with these and I have never wanted someone to just stop touching me so bad. I thought I was very knotted up because I am a performer/dancer by trade so sometimes things can be tender but no, they were not gentle. I am being gracious with a two star rating because for the most part the staff was kind. However the services were not cheap and by no stretch of the word worth the nearly $120 I paid for a Deluxe Manicure Pedicure. Finally, the system to pay did not work with my tap services so I had to pay via Venmo. At that point I paid without argument and left. I would not suggest their services to a single soul.
