Tere Mose Walked to this local event last year from my place. So good. Amazing artists, delicious food trucks and it was packed but still room to just wander the industrial area admiring artists painting their murals. The vintage market is a must visit, Bayside breweries, urban Mordialloc etc... No tickets for this event

Sean Nairn Possibly the longest pier along the coast between Port Melbourne and this spot? Regardless, it stretches out into the water and is popular with people swimming, fishing watching the sunset and just walking. Offers panoramic views up and down the coast, and a short walk to nearby shops, cafes and the pub. Recommend for a visit.

Jody Mahmoud Had an amazing time there. Its a very calm and beautiful place also nice for fishing. Only a few people there. The sound of the water keeps you in a calm mood. Would definitely return when possible.

Sean Nairn Located just behind Mordialloc Beach, this park offers a relaxed vibe and space to escape the beach and traffic if needed. Easy to access by car or train and less than 5 minutes walk to cafes / restaurants if you didn’t bring your own picnic with you. Plenty of space for kids to run around, or you can go for a walk along the beach or to the Bridge Hotel to rehydrate.

Ashlee Jayde The Peter Scullin Reserve is a beautiful spot, perfect for a family day out. With beach access and all the amenities you could need. There’s plenty of space, with shaded areas among the shrubbery to stay cool on warm days and a variety of little gazebos and shelters. The balance of open beach space and storefront access is ideal. Right beside the road, there’s also a park packed with play structures for kids to explore, making it a perfect beachside destination close to Melbourne. There used to be a popular bar and bistro, Sunny Boys, right on the beachfront, but as of October 2024 when I went, it was undergoing renovations. Fortunately, there’s a small stall near one of the car parks by the pier entrance that serves great food and drinks, making it a convenient lunch stop. In warmer months and on weekends, an ice cream truck makes regular rounds in the area. For those who want to bring their own food, there are plenty of BBQ facilities, and shops across the road offer additional options or a place to pick up snacks. The beach is very accessible from the reserve. The nearby lifesaving club provides an extra layer of safety during the warmer months, and the calm bay waters make it a safe, family-friendly spot. You can also change in either of the two toilet blocks at opposite ends of the reserve, however they aren’t super well maintained. There’s also plenty of taps to wash your feet and get a drink of water for you or a pet. If you’re looking for a fantastic day out in the sun, Peter Scullin Reserve is a great spot!
