Luis L Legend says once you have been to a Japanese salon, you will never go back to other places. So for the past 15 years, I have only been going to high end Japanese salons and have even gone to a few of them in Japan. To be completely frank, the first time I’ve been here, there are some bad stereotypes going on in my head. But once you get pass that stereotypes, you see real legends. Kaz is my stylist and he is easily the most skillful one I have ever been with. His attention to details is his second natural and is a perfectionist (which is the best trait for a stylist). Recommend him 10/10

Xiran Zhang A real hidden gem in dtla. Yugi did my hair and it was awesome, he was very patient and detail oriented. The hair cut was definitely worth more than its price, including shampooing and blow drying. I would recommend this salon to all my friends and will come back again for a haircut!

JO Na Love Yugi! I drive over 50 miles just so he can take care of my hair. I always walk away happy.

Panda Ivy I had been indecisive on a haircut for a while and decided to stop in here. Most of the staff, if not all, speak fluent Japanese. This place is Small, personal and professional while still having an "at home" feel. I managed to come in at a good time with only a 30 minute wait. Yuji cut my hair, and Im so very happy with it! While I couldnt give something exact that I had in mind, I gave him the kind of feel I wanted to go for. He totally understood, made sure I felt good about it and made it easy to maintain. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back!

Lisa Phan Highly recommend this hair salon. Ive been here multiple times and wished I lived closer. The place may not look fancy but the staff are skilled and attentive. I usually worry about how my hair turns out because I have wavy thick hair. When its not cut properly, my hair can have excessive volume at short to medium length. However, my stylist is very careful and does an amazing job everytime. She would check to make sure the lengths were even and asked me along the way if its ok. She also explained to me how my hair would look tied up and when it grows out in a few months. Not all stylist would provide that level of care. Overall, the quality of their work is still great. 10/10.

Naomi Lee Hair was left frizzy, she didn’t do a proper trim and she used a horrible smelling oil on my hair. I felt rushed and my hair definitely was not silky when I left … within 2 hours my hair was puffy and frizzy!

Lee Montenegro The experience was definitely memorable but this was the first wash n set and blowout that didn’t last me my normal three week let alone 3 days. There was one point where The owner, I believer was the only one there with like five customers and she was doing an okay job keeping up with all of us. However, it was still a long wait for certain things. The overall environment was nice and inviting. I left there looking gorgeous as Princess Lee. The same day, just a few hours later some frizz but I ignored it and kept it pushing three days later hair all frizzed up so I braided to just have a braid out look. My scalp was so badly burned that my scalp was already flaking. I had to give myself a long hot oil treatment after the fifth day. My overall take is it wasn’t worth how much I paid. I’m from New York and even they were cheaper for their service and they were very careful with their tools and clients. They didn’t book you to come in if they were already overbooked.

Eunice I was a first time patron. Maeven was very professional and had 20+ years of experience. She addressed all my requests and gave me a gorgeous cut. She also gave me tips on hairstyling since I expressed I am quite challenged in that department. She was very patient. I really appreciated that. One can tell she has a true passion about her profession. Way to go for a self-made boss babe! Street parking only. Shop is in an area of dtla that is bustling during the day but get really quiet after dark. I walked there at sunset for my appointment & ordered ride share afterward. She locked the door during our session and we had a great little chat while I waited for my ride. I recommend her service and would return for another hair cut session.

Fee H Lola did a fantastic job straightening my hair. I called for a blow out but after coming in and assessing my needs we determined that hair straightening would be better. She was efficient but took her time. She didn’t burn my hair or ears which used to happen to me all the time. The only criticism I have is curly hair needs to be combed from the bottom up. But even then she didn’t hurt me or hurt my hair when combing. When I need to get my hair straightened again I’ll definitely be back.

Sarah B Paolo cut my hair and while I waited she made sure she checked in and made me feel comfortable. We talked about what I wanted done to my hair and Paolo made it happen and once that was done she styled it. I love the way it came out and I will definitely be coming back here.

Ramish got my dreads re-twisted by a guy he was cool and i liked my hair but there was bugs and roaches everywhere and there was a woman doing hair across from the chair i was sitting in and she was very aggressive and seemed like her and another worker was high off some type of drug maybe coke or some pills. they made me very uncomfortable and there were kids around as well. the bathroom was very outdated and had bugs but overall i am giving a 1 because the environment and the way some of the workers conducted themselves

Luxury Love what went from the best to the worst hair experience ever! walked in and god seated by christina she was nice until the whole situation went through. i asked for a color (root touch up) press and curl and a edge trim , she started to color my roots i offered her my own dye but she declined and said that she will use her own black dye. she washed my hair and blowdried everything was fine but then my scalp started to tingle i notified her she put the cool drying on and then we proceeded. i did not want to complain since i was a walk in so i let her continue. when we were done i liked the style and everything but my scalp was still tingling i left and went about my day why by the time i went to get into bed my hair was stuck together like plastic. no seriously like my hair got burned off or she used a chemical in my hair im not sure but i know something wasnt right ! i had to cut off 7 inches of my hair because of this. i went back up to the salon multiple times and i was always told she would be back later in the day. come to find out this information. christina is not a licensed hair stylists she is only allowed to do braiding on peoples hair and her sister tia is the shop owner. now like i said i dont know too much but isnt that illegal ? you are allowing your sister to braid (legal) and do hair like shampoo and conditioning (illegal) at a legalized Hair salon. im so upset with myself that i did not even notice she did not have a license on the wall at her booth. it is partially my fault but also as a business that is not safe or practical to have non professionals at the salon. And the fact that her sister tia was covering for her as the owner ! so ridiculous. DO NOT COME HERE

Phyllis Lovelace My stylist is the best, Michael Powell. Does a fantastic job every time I go in. My washer Niecey also does an excellent job while washing and massaging my scalp. They both work well together as a team, are accommodating, and make it a joy to come in.

Bryan I have only this one experience, but the day before my hair was wrecked by another shop. I was frustrated and emotionally fried. I walked in to Ziggy’s immediately made to feel important and my interests and concerns were heard and addressed as expected. I will return. Price was very fair. Also there are some nice shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Made for a pleasant afternoon. Rescued my weekend!

Claudia Noelia i LOVE my hair. Thank you to Jonathon! I explained to him how nervous I was due to bad experiences in the past and showed a couple reference pics. He made me feel comfortable and heard! I can’t stop saying how much i love my hair.

Gayatri Parmar Very bad experience with them. There is on girl name with chrishlove with whom I had an appointment. Firstly she started with wash then after she started with normal cuts but in that she is not properly divided my hairs in equal parts she doesn’t even know how to start she roughly cuts my hair without any proper way I told her I want bouncy with the more layers but my hair is neither look like what I told her not layer one I don’t know what she did with my hair. My money is wasted my hair is shot still front desk ask me for $80. Added actually if we got what we want we will pay happy $80 as well but when it’s not satisfied then there’s always waste of money. She doesn’t know how to cut hair because I think she is just doing training right now.The way she is cutting my hair. It’s not look like she knows how to do. Crishlove doesn’t know how to even cut the hair with the scissor like in which direction says just cutting with the simple way as anybody can cut. In between I was saying that I want more detailing please two more detailing. Started with the blow dryer and then after again it is cutting my hair in between I don’t know what type of cards is doing. It’s totally worst. I’m not going to visit them again totally wasted.

Jasmin Esmeralda Schonberger I had a Brazilian Blowdry here 3 times. The first 2 times I loved it, made my hair really straight but went back to normal, but the last time I went my hair has not been the same since. It is pin straight and over processed - extremely damaged and its been over 7 months and it is still pin straight --> usually I would have to get a retouch at this point but my hair is so straight that it is breaking off. I hate to leave a bad review, truly the first 2 times were great and Im not sure what changed, the stylists were super nice too, just damaged my hair really badly the last time :(

Suzana Ruben Such an amazing salon and such welcoming people. I got my hair done with Shirel who did my organic hair treatment. It’s very difficult to find someone who does this exact treatment with the perfect product. She did such a great job with the treatment and also gave me a mask and haircut as well. It was so worth it. I recommend Shirel if you are looking for a great and long lasting hair treatment! She was amazing!

Audra Hanson Shirel does an amazing job with me extensions. I do tape ins and she has done the best out of anyone I’ve seen in LA. Location is great and easy to get to.

Salma Amrani I scheduled an appointment for a blow-dry, but when I arrived, the salon was closed. I rang the doorbell and called multiple times, but only received a response later claiming they had tried to reach me to reschedule, which they hadn’t. Very unprofessional ! Now I have to seek a reimbursement from Groupon.
