Riot Maker My wife just had a child, the nursing staff and doctors and midwife were great, but our room seemed dirty. Four days later, now we all have Covid. In the ER, security wouldn’t let me and my 4 day old baby back to my wife for over 20 minutes, general lack of disregard. Luckily a nurse was annoyed and brought us back. Again all of the medical staff were great, but the cleanliness was lacking and the shared bathroom was disgusting. Really wish the janitorial staff did a better job. And security should prioritize the health and safety of newborns.

cynthia Antioch Kaiser has been the worst Kaiser location I have ever been to. It’s very unfortunate that their medical staff are negligent and seem to be very desensitized in their career with the way they treat patients. My surgeon Dr.Tzadik along with many other medical staff in addition to the nurses and E.R. Team should be reevaluated in the positions that they hold due to negligence and lack of care they provided me during my 4 day stay at this facility. All beginning with triage in the E.R. On early morning of 1/29/25. I was post op from a laparoscopy surgery that happened on 1/28/25. In excruciating pain and already have been discharged by another hospital, I come to Antioch Kaiser because this is where I had the initial surgery not even 24 hours prior, and the care I received was poor and disappointing. My mother and I arrive and I was unable to walk and in unbearable pain, triage did not allow my mother to come back and help me. They wanted me to sit in their chair, being I was already in a wheel chair which was painful enough, I ask the nurse if she can lift my feet for me and she tells me that she can’t bend down. Why are you hiring nurses that cannot bend down? The staff learning that I am hours post op of a surgery did not make them move any quicker or did not give me quicker priority in what was happening in the ER that morning. I was being ignored by nurses in there and did not receive a bed until 3 hours later. They would not make eye contact with my mom and I. I would ask for a pillow or something, anything to help try to make me more comfortable while waiting for a bed, didn’t receive it until I kept asking and asking because they did not want to help me. They made it very clear. You have to be in the most pain and desperation to receive some kind of care if you are considering dialing 911 while already in the back of the ER which is what was going through my mind. There were very young people in there as well (staff) not sure if they were lvns or cnas, but while getting me to a bed I asked to be lifted or helped in some way to get me from the wheelchair to the bed and they just looked at me. I’m not sure why they did not feel the urgency to help me but I felt that they don’t take their career serious. I felt so unheard of my pain and like a burden. Some more hours later after that I was admitted into the hospital and put on the LABOR AND DELIVERY FLOOR. They didn’t know what to do with me. No one, not even my surgeon, after learning that I am readmitted in the hospital after a SIMPLE surgery thought to do further testing to investigate what could be happening internally after an ovarian cyst removal? They swore that I was constipated. They all undermined how much pain I was in. Told me this may be my first surgery and that I am sensitive. On the 4th day of being there, they told me I can do this at home. They discharged me after I begged them not to because I knew something was wrong and I couldn’t make it through that same night, I was throwing up throughout the car ride after being discharged and then through the night. The following morning I went to a different Kaiser location and soon found out I was leaking fluid in the abdomen and septic being Dr. Tzadik had punctured my intestine, perforated my bowel) which led me to a month long rollercoaster in the hospital. Risks come with surgery but absolutely SHAME ON ANTIOCH KAISER AND THEIR MEDICAL STAFF. The issue here is the negligence and lack of care these nurses and doctors showed. When you rely on medical staff for answers and they aren’t doing their job in doing the best they can to provide that it leaves you feeling like you can’t trust medical professionals with literally your life in their hands. They could have figured out sooner that I had leaking fluid in the abdomen but were fixated on me being constipated and dismissed my pain and concerns. Never did a cat scan. The way my case has been handled has been such a shock to myself and my family being affected by all of this and me undergoing so much pain and suffering and still recovering.

David DeJohn I arrived and got emitted quickly. The lady assisting me was patient and very helpful. The Dr was also patient and did a wonderful job. They were supportive and did the best they could to keep me calm and cool. If this is the type of surgery your seeking to have done then this is a good facility to do so. Thank you.

Justin Gutierrez Was rushed into the ER by my mom and dad at 9:30 PM due to Anaphylactic Shock to an undiagnosed allergy that we have yet to test for. Once we went through Triage and they saw the hives and difficulty breathing, they rushed me into a room and urgently brought me medicine and had albuterol on a nebulizer for me. 10/10 medical care. All the doctors that came to see me were super kind, reassuring, and super cool. They all were very urgent in their actions and got me care immediately. Even being there till 1:30 in the morning, I still received exceptional medical attention

Chai Antioch Health Center isn’t what it used to be when they first opened pre COVID. Now you have to wait an hour even if you’re on time, pre checked in and confirmed via text. When you do arrive, the front office staff will just let you stand there until a line starts to form. Then- they will call everyone who came in after you before you. After waiting an hour to establish care with my PCP, The nurse had to keep rechecking my blood pressure because she was measuring it by my elbow. When my doctor finely came in, she rushed through my visit in 5 minutes and then ran out of the door. They just love to waist people’s time here

Diane Salomon I have had only positive experiences. Dr. Lee and his staff are the best. Professional and I have NEVER waited for go hours to see my Dr. and I love the new facility so far. The OLD Antioch facility had a brutal hill to climb if you were on foot. I love that the new one is more accessible and more room. Thank you to Dr Lee, his Care Coordinators and staff for the health care and professional support the last 9 years. Great job

Tiffany Hanson I went to the ER 2 days ago after many visits. I needed blood draws multiple times. Frankie a phlebotomist was so kind and gentle and made me feel really at ease . I now have to do more blood work. Pamela at registration went above and beyond to special request Frankie for me as I am terrified of needles. Both of these wonderful people makes situations that are not so pleasant a great experience when going through a tough time. If ever visiting this hospital I hope you can request Frankie. I hope Sutter knows what asset to their medical team these two are! Thank you so very much !

Darren stallcup This hospital has been failing for 20+ years not sure how they are still open. My uncle died here in 2000’s. Our family thought the medical care he received back then was horrible. Fast forward to the 2020’s and everybody from Oakland moved to Antioch, you KNOW what that means… Anyways. The healthcare system in our country is horrible. So factor in all the newcomer negativity in our community and you have a recipe for disaster. Super long wait at the ER and even longer wait once you get in a checkup room. I gave it a second star because the nurse Jasmine was beautiful. Other than that, one star.

khali rene RIDICULOUS! for 1, the security was rude as hell. they made fun of everyone single person that walked in sick, when people got upset with them they got attitude right back with no understanding people are sick and irritated that we have to wait this long in an er room. question for the security , DO yall get paid to talk bad about every person that walks in? 2 the receptionist were more worried about there starbucks and lunch being there on time than actually getting people signed in, oh i was LIVID. i also asked for a cup of water and they tried to deny me water intill i threatened to sue them, then i got the cup of water. i will NEVER go here AGAIN.

Clarissa Keeling The only reason Im given Sutter 2 stars is due to some of the Dr and nurses were nice. Others were not nice at all plain rude. My 83 year old mother sat in the waiting room for 3 hours and after sitting in a uncomfortable chair for so long with back pain. She said take me home. I dont want to wait. After we left we received a call from the doctor stating she should be on IV and had an infection and should come back. This place is terrible and some of nurses need to be retrained and they need to have compassion.

Meadow Cook Typically, i don’t leave reviews for places. This ER is always incredibly busy, and usually the staff doesn’t have much time for people. But a specific nurse in the ER named Gary made the experience so calm. Naturally i was very nervous, and he took his time even though he was also quick and running patient to patient, to explain everything to me, and make sure i was alright. Man deserves a raise.

Melissa Luna Great experience last night in the Emergency Room. Had to bring my daughter in for stitches and because of the timing and the storm I chose this place. It was VERY crowded but Isaiah the ER tech got us checked in quickly and we were waiting a while but once we saw the triage nurse, it moved quickly. Jason, a physician assistant was fast, friendly and did an excellent job. Even though it was very busy, the entire department was well run and it moved smoothly. Every person was great. I don’t want to have to go to an ER, but I would return here.

Robert Martin Had a seizure and was told by my neurologist to go to the emergency room. After 5+ hours of waiting i was never seen, given pain medication or helped in anyway for my disability and extreme light sensitivity. People were talking on speaker phone in the waiting room completely self absorbed not caring that people around them have real medical conditions. People spilled water on the floor soaking into peoples pants and left it there only for my mom to finally go to the counter and ask for it to be cleaned up. This place is disgusting. Poop all over the toilet seats piss everywhere in the bathrooms. Id rather suffer at home at least i can turn off lights lay down and eat when I need to. Hunger, lights, headaches are all seizure inducing for me and they didnt care told me id be waiting hours.

M J From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a girl who was dealing with a rude patient/ visitor. The front desk handled everything so well and worked as quickly as possible to get everyone taken care of. I received the best care from nurse Jaime and Dr. Ohtani. Dr. Megan and the intern were also great.

Lexi Russo Horrible service. I came in Saturday 9/7 to get a medication I had to get in the emergency room. I waited from 2:30-8:30 pm until I finally got seen and got that medication I was out by 9:15 pm. All they had to do was see my med on my file and dispense it to me. I was told I had to come back today 9/8 to receive that medication again in the ER and I couldn’t get sent home with it. Well I decided to go to Walnut Creek ER today because in my experience they were always quicker. I was right. I came into Walnut Creek ER Kaiser at 12:50 pm and right now at 1:57 pm I’m already inside the room, and receiving my medication as we speak. That’s amazing service. They just always have their stuff together. If you want prompt service, go to Walnut Creek Kaiser, They always have been faster for my needs and they are just great at coordinating care, and treat me with much more respect than I have dealt with at Antioch. They care! Their Check in and ER process isn’t confusing either, and you don’t go back and forth to different rooms. The other time I went to Antioch 1 month ago, I went in at 6pm and left at 2am it’s a nightmare there. And NO outside seating to wait for a ride either I had to use a wheelchair outside that I happened to see. Plus it’s way confusing, you get sent to tons of different rooms over and over, that seem like they’re not even set up right, it feels out of order. And the check in process takes forever. I’ve never spent more than 2 hours at Walnut Creek in all my years.

JIAO SUN After my child checked in, they asked us to wait outside. My child had severe abdominal pain and had to endure it for an hour. I asked the nurse if I could be faster, and she told me that I needed to wait for an hour. I could only watch my child have severe abdominal pain, which is too bad for the emergency room…. Its very terrible!!

PATRICIA SERRATO Hi! I understand that the emergency room is packed most of the time, and staff is slammed with patients. At Sutter Delta, they have an ETA of patient service. Here I asked one staff member, at the same time I mentioned how Sutter Delta will be prompt in assisting patients with excruciating pain. He just replied, " If you feel youll get better service there, you can go there. Is that how you communicate with your patients at the ER?????? Im a CNA , I know hospital staff needs to be more compassionate. What us this??? And then why do you put security guards in charge of patient lists at the waiting room, You could hire certified medical assistants, could you?

Heather N. I witnessed  something very disturbing here when I was waiting at the ER. An older gentleman came in because he was having heart problems. He had a limp and a cane. He was very red and appeared to be having a cardiac emergency. He was sweaty and having trouble standing, and he said he was frustrated because he couldnt find the building to do some sort of heart test. The ER nurse was unsympathetic and told him not to raise his voice. He tried to explain why he was frustrated and she cut him off to police his tone further. She did not direct him on where to go or care at all that he was having an emergency. Then security came and yelled at him to leave when he was not even being belligerent or yelling - he just seemed frustrated and unsteady. He said "fine, Im going home to go back to sleep." Im not even a medical  professional and even I know that agitation is a symptom and precursor for stroke and heart attacks, but none of the trash employees here cared. I suspect that he likely died at home based on the condition he was in. All of the security guards spent the next two hours laughing amongst themselves and making fun of the old man. They were so pleased with the way they used their tiny bit of power to bully an old man that they told everyone who would listen the story of how they kicked him out. Ive seen other things here with the staff, but this is the one that disgusted me the most. Emergency departments are supposed to have staff who are equipped to handle crises where people are not at their best. I didnt realize that when you are in a crisis, the emergency department can say, "youre not being polite enough, so Im going to let you die instead of helping you". Truly the most important thing here is the ego of the nurses and security guards, not saving lives. Its safer to take the drive to go to an emergency room somewhere else than risk your life with the "hero" staff here.

Justin Gutierrez This is my local hospital, and this ER has definitely done me some good. First off, a few years ago when I was like 8 I broke my foot and went in, nurses and doctors were very helpful and assisting. 2nd time was during covid, when the disease caused me laryngitis, which I was brought to the ER for. They were again, very helpful, and issued me a new inhaler while I was there that actually saved me when my larynx swelled up and I couldn’t breathe
