Cya Rosen The hairdresser took advantage of me because I’m a visitor, she charged £65 to wash and blow dry my hair without asking what I wanted. That price would be high in a salon with a bookings and appointments, this is a wait in line service in a just about fit for purpose backstreet room, I did not expect that price, and don’t feel good about any of it.

T Goertz I was looking to get some layers done for the first time and was calling around town. Mi was the first place to accept my last minute appointment 20 minutes after I called. I simply showed her the picture of the layers I wanted and she did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job. The owner herself cut my hair, and she was so amazing and talented. My new go-to spot for sure! Raquel was a great listener as I explained what I wanted and had a wealth of knowledge to help me decide what cut would be best for me. The whole staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The scalp massage was the best Ive had. Very pleased with my cut and will definitely go back for my next one.

Kent L Im a 61 y.o. man who is fortunate to still have a thick head of hair and so had been growing it out for 6-9 months hoping I could find someone to do something with it. I was in town to spend some much needed quality time with my woman (long distance relationship right now) and decided it was time to see if I could find someone to do something remarkable with my 1970s looking Covid hair. I walked in to Raquels salon on a whim and not only was I thankful my timing was perfect and she could take me, but I had the best experience of my life getting a hair cut! I know that sounds over the top, but its the reason Im making the effort to jot all this down. With very little discussion and her running her fingers through my hair, I was confident she somehow knew what to do when I didnt even know what I wanted. I think all I said was "Hey..if I was a movie star or other famous person I know somebody could do something special with this long mop of hair".. and she did. Not only that, but a scalp massage, shampoo and rinse massage were all included for $55! Really? in Santa Barbara? I went to look for the correct spelling of her name on the salon website and so came across her Bio. You should read it. It resonates perfectly with the experience I had there.

Rodolfo Zambrano You got to know what cut you want. Also juanita will usually personally cut or style your hair. New quarantine guide lines are being followed that means wear you mask and social distance.

Rose Largent Very knowledgeable on hair color she fixed my over process bleached hair. I would really recommend her for all your hair care needs.

Francesca Patent Alex is by far the best hair stylist Ive been to. Ive been to at least 10 different hair stylists in the past 3 or so years and have maybe left only one of those appointments satisfied with my hair color. I have thick, black, Asian hair and I get very bright blonde highlights done, which is why its super hard for me to find stylists who satisfy my expectations. He does my hair very quickly (about 2 hours which usually takes other stylists 4-6 hours), and the color is always exactly what I want. Alex is phenomenal at what he does.

ava Ghirann Excellent salon, impeccable service. They are masters at what they do. I have had the privilege of working with both Alex and Ashleigh. Their attention to detail and perfectionism is unmatched. So happy I found this gem.

blingnbubbles 8/10/18: online appointment requested for 5pm 8/16. Noted to look at my last appointment to ensure enough time was reserved. Advised the appointment was not considered reserved until email confirmation. 8/11: Received "Appointment Accepted" email 8/13: Received email to confirm myappointment via a link; "Appointment reconfirmed" 8/15: Reminder email received 8/16 - Day of Appointment: 11:40am recd email & text "Appointment Cancelled" not enough time to finish my hair! REALLY? You wait until the day of the appointment and cancel an appointment?!?!?!?!?!?! After accepting, confirming, and reminding you have the audacity to cancel an appointment that was to happen in 5 hours! I immediately texted back stating I would come in early and they said it was too busy. The appointment would take 3 hours and they closed at 7pm. So, help me understand why you wouldnt honor your appointment and stay open an hour later or perhaps call more than hours prior to address. I immediately called at least 8 times and no one would pick up the phone. I had to leave voice mail messages and have not received a call back in 2 weeks. Serious customer service issues. I have since called and left messages to discuss with the owner, Alex. He has not returned phone calls either. NOTHING. Disappointing. The silver lining is I found a new stylist at a new salon that is among the best Ive ever experienced and appreciates my business. Additionally the billing practices are somewhat subjective. As someone new to town, I have only visited the salon twice, had the exact same services, and was charged $50 more the 2nd time. I questioned the charge but the receptionist was dismissive.

Emily Wouts Virginia did an amazing job with my hair! It was my first time getting a keratin treatment and she walked me through the process and aftercare for it. She is so sweet and my hair turned out amazing! I will definitely be coming back to this salon.

Allison Francis Alex is amazing blonde hair coloring specialist. He’s saved my hair as I had so many things done to my hair trying to get the right color blonde and every time I go to him he nails it every time I never have to worry. So if you’re wanting Your hair, soft and luscious after every treatment plus looking amazing you need to go See Alex at the Santa Barbara salon. You will not regret it.

Jesus Sanchez My wife went in with my kid to get a haircut for my mother-in-law and he was playing quietly on the couch when Angelica the stylist asked my wife to put my kid on the ground. My kid is not an animal that has to be put on the floor. If she cares to much about her couch and place she should put a sign on the front saying no kids allowed. Very unprofessional and disrespectful with her customers.

coran beck I get my hair done here by Cindy Franco - I love this salon - it is unpretentious with friendly and welcoming staff. Due to COVID restrictions for salons, they created a large patio out back in the parking lot that is fully shaded by a tent and surrounded by large potted plants - creating a lovely green hedge. (As of now appointments are back inside with all employees and clients wearing masks at all times)

Diana Candiss…every inch was a different length. This might’ve been due to the fact that she was literally yanking my head between every snip. I do have to say she did an awesome blowout most likely to disguise her hack job.

Fatemeh Farahmandfar This place is 1 out of 10. If I could Id rate a 0. She over booked and didnt communicate. I made an appointment with SHANNON who, in my opinion, is "THE WORST" person to go to. She is IRRESPONSIBLE, INEFFICIENT, UNPROFESSIONAL, and absolutely IGNORANT. Your time and values are her least interest. I might have had a different experience if I booked with another hair stylist. She made excuses to my face thinking I was clueless! Just to give you all a heads up that dont waste your time with SHANNON and make sure to read the reviews before heading on to book an appointment at this salon. Very disappointed!!

KC SB Ive been getting my hair cut with Maria Esparza since 2011!! Shes the best!! Her scalp, neck and shoulder massages cant be beat, and I always leave feeling like Ive gotten the best haircut in town! The atmosphere at The Oak + Violet Salon is calming. They use Aveda products so going there is instant aromatherapy. I highly recommend this salon and Maria Esparza!!
