The Best 7 Hair Salons in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz (part 4)

Abraham Jason (Jason Abraham Photography) Had an amazing haircut/new look. I came in and had no idea what I wanted or needed and Jose took care of me. I had been rocking the man bun for years and wanted a low maintenance and professional look. He nailed it. Everyday this week I take no more than a few minutes after my shower to work with my hair, and have had so many compliments from people at work and friends in different social groups. Gotta trust the professionals at Get Faded Barbershop. This was my first time getting a fade or this style of haircut; so I was a little nervous at first. But I have been happy all week with this clean new look.

erin ellis Ricky has been cutting my hair for over 5 years, and always does an awesome job. I come all the way from the mountains to get my haircut from him!

shaborn sessoms Great experience, Oscar is one of the best at Get Faded. Really takes his time and is great at communicating to ensure the customer is satisfied with the end result. Will definitely go back.

Caitlin McCuiston My 7yo son loves to go here and he always requests Andreas to cut his hair. He’s very patient with my son and always does a really nice job with a more complicated cut. Super grateful! and the costs is the same if not cheaper than other salons which is a bonus!

Lori Heineman I have longer hair and just wanted a trim. Maria did a great job giving me new bangs and a trim, she cut exactly as much as I asked, and even educated me a bit on self-coloring. The true test is when I go to style dry myself at home and Im very happy with the results. The hair lays just as it should. Her prices are so reasonable, depending on your needs and I paid half of what the salon up Portola asked for. (with no one in the Salon).

Taten-Jinmu c I would suggest avoiding this place unless you want to look like a blind man tried to cut your hair. Simple request for a fade and got a "huh?" back in reply. I should have walked out right there but I walked over to their board, pointed out about what I wanted and thought it would be cool until the gal grabbed the back of my hair and just went at it with a buzzer and now I have a HUGE A shaped wedge in the back of my hair. The entire back is choppy and uneven no matter which way you look at it and its freakin terrible. "Oh no, thats alright Im not done yet" okay..... Proceeded to attempt to join all my hair together at the thinnest point of her buzzer attack in an attempt to basically cover it up.... Made the A more noticeable on the back of my head and while doing her laughable attempt at a fade managed to royally screw up a very meticulous line that I have to keep getting re-cut into my hairstyle because people keep absolutely destroying it. And she did it again........

SC Muller Fast and friendly service for walk-in on Saturday early afternoon. Marialuisa offered great suggestions for my thin straight hair and showed me how to style it with curls. Thanks for the cut!

Jamie OSullivan AVOID THIS PLACE !! I received a bad haircut from this salon the last time but decided to give it one more try as it was a different stylist the 2nd time. I made an appointment in advance for the next day and showed up at the arranged time. As i live a bit remotely it took me 40 minutes from my home to the salon. When i arrived my chosen stylist was there but was just beginning working on a lady. She said "I got confused this morning"..."Can you wait ?". I could not as i had a work call an hour later. She told me she had just started on the other lady AND had a second lady in the salon who was also before me ! I politely said that i had driven 40 minutes to get there and had arrived at the exact time we had agreed for the appointment the day before. She just shrugged. So i drove for 80 minutes round trip just to be told "i got confused" and leave with no haircut.

Lia Robles Love this place! Wait times are always short and the owner is so sweet. I take my kids ages 4 (girl) and 11(boy) and she does an amazing job with both!

Cel F Integrity. Honesty. Accountability. These are all basic attributes a business should have, especially when dealing with something as sensitive as hair. This salon seriously LACKS all 3. Credit where credit is due, but also accountability where accountability is due. The stylist completely mishandled my keratin treatment by neglecting to use the product properly. My hair was left stiff and dry. After talking to another stylist/owner and confirming with the MANUFACTURER, it was clear the product was mishandled. They offered a redo, which was the bare minimum. The stylist even admitted she doesn’t like doing keratin treatments and removed it from her card. The service should have been reassigned to someone else when I requested an appointment. Terrible management, miscommunication nightmare. Proceed with extreme CAUTION if you care about your hair at all!

Jorja Sebastian at Faust is my go to for all my hair needs! I first went to him a few years ago and he did a balayage on my hair that turned out uhhhmazing! I was a bit nervous because I had asked for similar at another salon a couple years prior to finding Sebastian, and the lady completely butchered my virgin hair! Most recently I had him do partial highlights and a cut that he totally nailed. My teenage daughter wanted some highlights, so for Christmas I gifted her with a trip to Sebastian. She absolutely loves how it turned out! She’s been in his chair before for haircuts but this was special. So glad that I’ve found a hair stylist that I can trust with not only my hair, but my daughters as well!

Samantha Spartano Got my hair done by Amanda and it turned out SOOO GOOD. She’s done my roots a couple times but today I asked to go platinum and it absolutely exceeded my expectations!! After blow drying my hair she noticed that there was still some yellow tones at my roots and went over it a second time just to make sure it blended perfectly! I am so happy with how it turned out and I would highly recommend Amanda for any of your hair needs :)))

Kiayna Gour Amber is absolutely stunning! I went in to get my money piece redone and the color for the rest of my hair. She was so kind, patient, and exceeded any expectations that I walked in with. I have used hair dye from Sally’s for years. I have truly never felt so good with a salon experience. It’s usually so intimidating but Amber made it so comfortable and warm. She knew exactly what I wanted and gave me a full transformation. After hunting for someone in the beauty industry with such kindness and compassion for their work, I’ve found my new forever go-to ❤️ 10/10 recommend

andria gaskins Worst customer service ever !! So unreliable. They will not go to work for you after they charge your card. Good luck getting an order on time and make sure your charges are correct. There is a reason why Nordstrom and Amazon is successful. They get the job done from start to finish.

The girls are always soo welcoming not to mention Perla. Always making sure im up to date with new products & somehow always convinces me. Anyways nothing but good vibes from all the staff!

Chelsea Marlais Ive been hear 4 times in the last year. First 2 times I had the same person and they did adequate. Cleaned me up. No complaints overall. I would give this person a 4/5 if I could rate the people separately. The 3rd time I had a different girl and thought she did a really good job, so the next time I went I requested her. This next time, this girl did such an awful job that I literally had to go home and re-cut my hair because I didnt trust her to fix the trash job she did. I have an asymmetrical haircut, with my left side being longer; When I looked at the layers, she actually managed to cut the length of the under layers going the wrong direction! The bottom layers had the left side shorter! I had to lose so much progress in the length of my hair just to even that BS out. I never knew someone could do SUCH A TERRIBLE JOB. I wish I could give her personally a 0/5. I am not sure if I will ever go back, but if I do, im definitely refusing to work with certain artists.

Eve Wagner Difficulties following verbal or pictorial instructions for my son’s hair. Just lost six months of growth when working toward a longer on top hair cut. They seem to only know one way to cut a boy’s hair. So if you want something other than short layers, try somewhere else. The staff is very pleasant and says they understand the instructions but may not actually follow them. It’s clean and well lit. Hardly any wait time.My son likes the lollipops, so I’ve given multiple chances and have tried multiple times. Same haircut every time, no matter what I show or say. I’m a little sad because they are so convenient and I think that they can do better given that they have licenses to cut hair.
