The Best 7 Hair Salons in Santa Rosa, Sonoma (part 4)

BagOTrix On the fence and not sure if it’s fair to review based on service from one individual since there are several people to one may select. First time in and didn’t receive a great haircut but wasn’t hideous either just wasn’t exactly what asked to have done. Inside seems nice and open floor plan with stations on both sides. Everyones experience of a haircut varies and depends on what you like, that’s the obvious so perhaps you enjoy a getting your hair washed along with a scalp massage and conversation getting to know your new stylist or do you prefer not to have any conversation? I prefer to try and know my stylist with light conversions since we are mutually getting to know each other and figure out if I’ll become a long term client. My stylist happened to be uncomfortably quiet and had to talk so there wasn’t dead silence also wanted to know if they were cutting how I requested. If decided to return, will try a different stylist and update review.

Erin This is a 3 part review. One of my daughters has a haircut with Jazmin. We liked it very much, and booked a haircut with her (she herself booked it) for my other daughter 10 days later. When we came for my other daughter’s appointment, which we confirmed, and got the 1 hour reminder of before, we were told that Yazmin was running behind, wouldn’t be able to cut my daughter’s hair, but that Alex could. Since we had driven from another city for this appt, we agreed. We liked the cut, and then I decided to book a cut and color with Alex for myself. I should have known when they did the switch to not book anymore here. On the Saturday before my Tuesday appointment (which I had booked in person with Alex), I received a called from a receptionist who told me “It would be better if you could come Monday at 10.” I advised her that I couldn’t come at 10. I was totally out off by that, and we will not be coming back. I think some work on phone skills would be helpful too.

Ava Wessels got my hair done like a year ago here and i forgot the stylist name but she was blonde and literally does not know how to do hair. i asked for blonde on my dyed brown hair and she gave me streaky stripy highlights with a horrible money piece that didn’t even touch my root. not only that but she left a huge brown spot stain on the bright blonde money piece and when i went back to fix it she said the stain “couldn’t come out” and so just bleached over the already bright blonde money piece and fried it.

Katrina Parker Everyone at the salon is very friendly and knowledgeable. Sydney was AMAZING with my daughter! I am so glad we found this place and look forward to going back.

Di Anne Padovano I severely needed some help with my hair as it had been over 6-months since my last cut it dye. I was up in the area during a trip and passed by Salon West. I decided to stop and just see if they had any availability. The employees were all so nice and helpful. They were also very accommodating and made some tile for me at the end of the day, and were patient with me when I called and mentioned id be a few minutes late. My stylist already knew the color I’d like and really helped me make decisions based on my hair type and color. She was also helpful regarding my curly hair. I had to tell her my horror story getting my hair cut by a stylist that had no idea how to cut curly hair and how traumatized I was. She was very kind, listened, and made sure to cut my hair dry and get rid of the dry, damaged areas while keeping the length. I honestly thought this was a great team of stylists and can’t wait to visit again! ❤️ I added some before pics and then a pic later with the beautiful red and tighter, healthier curls. Melanie Popov My hairdresser, Sarah Puckett, is just so amazing! She has been doing my hair( long, thick, and blonde) for at least 5 years now, and I am always beyond pleased when I leave the salon. D Gonzalez It was my first time going to montage hair salon, I was told that they did a good job, so I went there to get my hair done, I told the girl how I wanted my hair to be done, how blonde I wanted it, and I showed her a picture, she told me she was gonna try to get it as blonde as possible. So then she did my hair, it took her a few hours, then when she were finally done, she showed me the top of my hair, and she told me that, that was a good start, but even then on some areas it looks uneven and pretty dark. As we were getting home my husband started checking my hair because he questioned, why were you charged so much if it looks like you bought Walmart’s hair dye and did it yourself. He saw the sides and the front of my hair, and then he pulled my hair forward, checked the bottom and it wasn’t even done, and the coloring it’s uneven, my hair looks awful. I don’t mind paying almost $500 dollars, as long as the job is done right. I don’t think they should be changing that much if your hair isn’t going to be done correctly. I am going to be contacting the owner of the salon to see if I can get refunded. I am going to be adding a picture of how I wanted it.

Shilo Nicholls Sarah was AMAZING! She really listened to my daughter and took the time to understand what she was looking for! It was like watching a master sculptor at work! My daughter has tons of hair and we knew it had some curl, but Sarah brought out the full potential of it, revealing hair that you would see in a magazine! She is truly an artist and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for that stylist to bring out your hair’s natural beauty!

Sonia Lola Montage salon with Sarah Puckett she is the absolute best stylist takes her time with her clients as pertinent questions listens to what her clients wants and needs are and then she performs absolutely beautiful. You will never be dissatisfied. Highly recommended five stars for Sarah.

George L. From Jennifer, wife of George L.: Rachel did a fabulous job trimming, shaping and tinting my brows. The arch is natural and my brows pair nicely now, even though one has always been slightly higher that the other. Rachel is also a very lovely person who listened to what I wanted and made it happen! I would recommend Rachel with no reservations.

John Ford Accompanied wife. She complained about poor service, overcharging and bragging without any trace of modesty. Would never recommend such a place.

Sydney Cameron I had the "Express Facial" by Samantha and it was incredible. She was very gentle and eloquently explained the process. I wish I wasnt from out of town otherwise id go frequently! Loved it.

Shana Bull I have been getting my eyebrows and makeup done in Sonoma County by Veronica since she was in beauty school. She has always been super talented, knowledgeable, honest and welcoming. When I got married earlier this year, Veronica did my makeup and I looked amazing the day of my wedding, and (more importantly) in pictures! She is definitely the best makeup artist in Sonoma County!

Nancy Dami Veronica is such a sweetheart and has passion for what she does and her community. We NEED more businesses like the beauty spot. Thank you for being so wonderful.

Jack Crow Its okay. Its pretty fast and cheap. Ive gotten 10 haircuts here 2 of them bad, 6 of them ok, and 2 that I really liked. At the end of the day I rather come here because barbers take over an hour per customer. I got things to do so this suits my needs.

Sarah Mayers Have not had my hair cut by a professional in years! Very happy with the pixie she gave me. Understood exactly what I described I wanted. I recommend booking a slot, as it was very busy and a walk in would have been a wait

barbara beckmeyer I have no idea what the service is like because they have a message that says they have no receptionist, and by the time someone got around to calling me back, I had found another Aveda salon and booked there. Just seems kind of crazy not to have someone answering your phones and booking appointments if you’re such a busy salon. Sabrina was very nice when she did call me over a week after I left a message.

David Chavez I travel all the way from Calistoga to get my hair cut here as well as my son. Recommend calling ahead and make an appointment as it gets busy for walk-ins. Great service and great cuts.

They ignored you I never come back to this place I ask for one haircut and they make me different hairstyle Plus smell bad and the Custumers they don’t used mask protection The owner never used sanitizer or anything.

Katherine Harwood Worst hair salon in Santa Rosa- greedy owner… no one cares if you are unhappy after a bad service- run in the opposite direction! There are so many great salons with kind people in Santa Rosa… do not patron this place, you will regret it.

Tara Corrales This salon is bright and clean and very busy. The wife and husband that own the salon are very friendly and care for their clients! I began coming to this salon because my sugar waxer was hired here recently. Juliette owns a sugaring business housed inside the salon called Clean Smooth Skin. Check this place out!! It has accessible parking on site and its conveniently located right off the highway!
