Jess Dixon I have driven past here so many times but never knew what it was. Honestly it was a great experience, my 2 year old and his friend of the same age loved it. The way you can climb in and out is actually really fun! I would love to do a photo shoot here some time!

Carl Halpin Been wanting to visit this for a while and glad I finally was able to make it. The old tram workshop is packed with vintage trams restored beautifully giving a sense of what tram travel around Melbourne was like throughout the evolution of the Melbourne tram network. You can climb aboard all the trams and quite a few have working bells that the kids love to ding (a quiet hour would be good tho). As well as the trams themselves there are 2 exhibition rooms with information and tram and ticket related memorabilia. Climbing aboard the old trams brings back memories of travelling on these with my mum as a kid where a conductor would push through the crowded tram and get everyone a ticket. A museum well worth a visit. Only a shame that it has such limited opening days.

Ranaan Rajeeb Had an excellent time at the Tram Museum! Was so much fun to learn about the history of the hawthorn tram depot and the Melbourne tram system in general. It was also very cool to see some of Melbourne’s historic trams in the depot as well, some of which were more than 100 years old! I happened to arrive at the same time as a free Tram Talk tour was starting and enjoyed the little tour through the depot and trams. Our guide, Klaus, excitedly took us through the history of the trams and the Melbourne tram system itself. Would highly recommend people time their visit to make the most of it! It starts on the hour every hour, and made my visit a lot of fun. Everything was preserved very well, and they even had a cool little gift shop at the end. Would highly recommend!

Jean Z All the staffs so lovely and get so much to learn, to experience here. The park nearby is a gem too. Highly recommend

Lorraine F Fantastic, well preserved display of trams from the earliest ones. So interesting. Anyone who grew up in Melbourne would love to see all these old trams again - they bring back so many memories and it was wonderful to have former tramway employees there to reminisce with. The grandchildren also loved seeing and playing on all the old trams!

John Locke The name suits it because the view is fair and the atmosphere is relaxing. There are large areas of grass, trees, chairs, tables, public toilets, BBQ facilities and an oval. Nice for dog walking, picnic, jogging, sunbathing and sports. Bring your kids and dogs. Dogs can be off leash. There was a duck in Yarra River on a cold winter day in my video here.

Nick Came here with my partner and had a really nice time. The park is really clean, although a little bit hilly but not necessarily a bad thing. The elevation changes would be really good for tiring out a dog very easily and with it being a dog park makes it sort of perfect. The area is very nice with all the big houses around too

Cath C This park is an excellent place to bring your dog for a walk and a play. Such a beautiful, big, open area, and all of it off lead. My dog absolutely loves playing here and meeting lots of other doggy friends. She fascinated watching the rowers go past on the river. Fenced in playground is great for kids too. Love being here early in the morning

M L Really nice old park by the Yarra River. This place is great for coming to relax and having a picnic. There is a playground for the kids, benches to sit on by the river and wide open space for playing or bringing a dog. This park is definitely worth a visit and the layout itself is very unique.

Ailish B This park was huge, lots of space to have a picnic, kick a ball or bring your dogs. It was nice to see the autumn leaves, and I loved the little walkways down to the park.

Chevy Leahy Really disappointed that the council decided to swap out the beautiful, art deco style, green bench seats for some cheap, uncomfortable basic, benches with no style or personality. I understand that things needs updating and the ones closer to the play ground might have made sense but there was no reason to remove the original Heather Summons bench. I would love it (and I’m sure a lot of other people would as well) if you put it back. Can I please get a reply on this?

Xiaoli Jiang How beautiful and gorgeous! All of us enjoy the lovely park. It’s great for kids, families and friends. It’s also a wonderful place for picnics and parties. It’s the best garden park in Hawthorn.

A. L We had our little weekend picnics here, and its such a nice place to stay and play. My three year old girl loves the rocket slides, the ladders in the rocket could be a bit challenging for some kids, but its fun. Toilet is very close to the playground, but its not very clean.

peter oht Lovely park near the Swinburne University campus. I was impressed with the amount of trees in the park providing shade for all the groups of people enjoying their picnics. The public toilet is housed in a really cool old building. Love the place and the feel.

Christopher Lai Nice little quiet playground with BBQ area There is very little parking so best to park on the street. Good BBQ area with seating. Self cleaning toilets up on the street The playground has a really good water play area. Kept the kids entertained for a very long time. Its also partly fenced off so its rather safe.

Richard Blakeman Beautiful little park in an historic setting on the banks of the Yarra. It was the site of the original punt across the river, and is near one of the oldest steel bridges in Australia. Great spot for a family picnic or bbq, accompanied by a stroll along the banks of the river.

Robert Brown This is a beautiful reserve filled with native plants. Gardens are well maintained and although small there are many quiet spaces to enjoy the lovely view

Claudine Faerie Beautiful, majestic old building in the heart of Hawthorn- used to be the Town Hall. Carefully restored and maintained, it is spacious with some lovely architectural features. Main room has a stage area, and would be ideal for weddings, lectures, performances or events- with high ceilings, decorative painted walls, grand light fittings and stained glass windows. I attended the Witches Night Market and Ball here on the weekend and the main hall was perfectly suited to display a range of stalls in a lovely setting.

Mano Thevathasan Terrific location with ample parking around the back. Beautiful venue with italianesque plaster work and good acoustics. Staff are lovely helpful and efficient. I understand from people that organised the concert that they were also easy to deal with. First class for small intimate events.

Linda Hubby and l visited the Hawthorn Arts Centre to enjoy the Jack Earl Big Band. We arrived 90 minutes early and were warmly welcomed into this beautiful building; a lovely blending of historic with contemporary architecture. We were free to wander through their gallery, an inspiring prelude to a great night of music. The staff are an asset with their friendliness and helpfulness. The bar was a nice touch, too, for those wishing to imbibe/quaff, but l would have (almost) killed for a tea! Perhaps a coffee machine would be an excellent addition?

Doug Eves Nice little park along the Yarra river. Includes a soccer pitch and childrens playground equipment. Beautiful for a picnic on a sunny, quiet weekend.
3 /5
Elgin Lam Nice park next to the river. Would have given 5 stars if there were more bins for throwing dog litter.
4 /5
Sebastian B A quiet spot along the ever so busy Yarra. After a long awaited brand new fenced playground and picnic table, the park has benefited a lot. Dogs are allowed off lead and has great easy to walk, walking path alongside the river.

Richard Paton Great park for dogs and walking. The play equipment has recently been revamped and modernised and also enclosed. Also couple of good spots to let the dog off for a swim. Watch out for the snakes in the spring season onwards.
