Victoria Strong This park is stunning, full of beautiful heritage trees, lots of deciduous trees that give beautiful autumn colors and leaf fall which kids and dogs love to play in. The lake is lovely with much bird life (but feeding not permitted) as well as a waterfall and some pretty bridges. It spans 4 blocks and easily joins up with Central Park… another lovely area with some outstanding cafes and coffee shops to break the trip.

Soo Isaacs Hedgeley Dene Gardens is a peaceful oasis in the middle of suburban madness. People stroll through these gorgeous gardens enjoying the surrounding trees, garden beds and lawns. It is a playground for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Great for picnics or lying under a tree with a good book! Enjoy your visit here.

Kurbie Lee Stunning little oasis in the midst of the Stonnington busyness. Kudos to the grounds-keepers. There is a large area of open water so be mindful with young children here. I have so many wonderful memories here from when I was a tiny takka and it hasnt changed a bit......

Sophie Charlotte Nice spot. Pretty walk and well maintained gardens. Lots of different plant species and a good spot for a picnic. Lots of chairs and plenty of grass space for a game of something. Nice lake with ducks and stuff. Easy parking. Id go there again. Good for family photos spot but no wedding photography or ceremonies allowed.

2.Urban Forest Reserve

Address: 1283 Dandenong Rd, Malvern East VIC 3145

Imges Urban Forest Reserve

Kaz Bar A lovely little walking trail that links the Boyd Park Trail and Gardiners Creek Trails. Whilst wandering through this reserve you can almost forget you are smack dab in the middle of an urban setting. The houses hidden along the perimeter and the traffic noise from Dandenong Road at one end and Waverley Road at the other end are the only hints. Birds and frogs abound - adding a beautiful cacophony of natural sound to drown those other sounds out. Australian native trees and shrubs with 2 ponds that are linked by streams during wet times. A couple of bridges on the paths are a pleasant place to stop and listen to the frog song. Hidden in the Forrest you will find a couple of treats for kids to explore. The first is "Gnomeville". A lovely little collection of Garden gnomes hidden beneath the trees creating a gnome village. The second little hidden gem is a large twig and log shelter surrounding a tree - which is a very cool little natural Aussie fort. Large enough to hide inside, explore and let the imagination wander. Whilst it is not a huge Parkland it does offer a lovely place to walk and escape the urban drudgery. Pros: well tended paths. Lovely place to walk. Cons: no toilets or any other facilities.

John G Great place for a walk lots of birds, sometimes ducks in the 2 ponds

peter oht This is not a big park but it great to see space allocated for a reserve to preserve remnants of what this area used to look like. This park is part of the Linear Park Network and runs along the Old Railway course - a bit of history. This is a typical australian park with native grass and local gum trees. While there were signs of animals within the park, I only managed to spot an Australian Egret. The stroll was nice and there were plenty of different flora varieties to intrigue me. Nice place to get lost for an hour or so and be with nature.

Pat R Melbournians dont have to go far to enjoy the beautiful Australian bush. Malvern Urban Forest is one of the many Urban Design projects around ponds and wetlands, which help improve the quality of our urban stormwater. This particular little park with wetlands at one end and abundance of colour and birdlife, enjoy a picturesque picnic. So get off the couch and enjoy our parks and outdoor activities.

George from In Focus healing and wellness clinic Thanks to this city council for having the intelligence to maintain such a precious space for urban forest bathing!

J R Very pleasant space, friendly, and quiet. Tennis courts, wide open grassy field for running, games, or picnicking. Plenty of shade from beautiful trees. A few benches, one picnic bench. Small childrens playground which is safely fenced because this is an off-lead park. Provision of bins, and dog poo bags.
5 /5
Rose K Beautiful little park. Always plenty of people with their dogs, people playing tennis on the courts and kids in the playground. There is a BBQ, toilets and a nice little picnic area. I find it just really pretty.
4 /5
james lawrence It’s a off lead dog park… dogs bark believe it or not… the fact that some dog owners think that barking is aggressive and only aggressive is insane. The nerve to be told off that “the bark is too loud” - take your dogs on a lead around the block.

karin penrose Beautiful park to sit and have a chat or a picnic. Great to take your dogs for a walk. Has a playground for the children.

Imges Central Park

(1163) Reviews Central Park:

Victoria Strong This park is a local slice of heaven. It’s beautifully maintained with annual floral displays and stunning trees. There is a heritage glass house with an orchid display and a beautiful sunken fountain. The local council put incredible events on here too, concerts and carols and light shows. It’s a significant feature of the area and also surrounded by amazing restaurants and coffee shops. Love it!
5 /5
bao Great place to run. 500m around the oval or a quick 1000m around the perimeter of the park. The gravel is great to run on rather than grass especially when it rains or is wet. Love the family vibe of this place.
5 /5
Jacqueline Allen Glow winter arts festival, Central Park. Wonderful interactive and colourful. Great food trucks. The only negative was the path and kerb lighting non existent, several people including me tripped on the kerb as it was dark and there was no lighting or reflectors to show the lip.
3 /5
Ashton Samuel Central Park is a nice peaceful park in the City of Stonnington local council. The park is a good meeting place to see other people and walk laps of. It has beautiful gardens and overall is beautiful park which if you want to/can, should go and visit.

Charles Grinter This is an amazing little Museum. The volunteers are passionate and informative. The lives and art that are celebrated are extraordinary.

Charlie Soon A tiny yet full of story house, nicely tucked away in Malvern East. Often people would drive past without realising this beauty ☺️ they are open two afternoons per week and open on one Saturday per month. Make sure you visit this place at least once.

Merrowyn Deacon I havent actually been to the Studio, but I met the owner of it, Eva de Jong Duldig, at DRIFTWOOD, the musical, on Friday night at the Alexander Theatre, Monash University. I have it on a list of places to visit fairly soon. Also the musical show was superb. On @ Chapel on Chapel until the end of May.

Trish Lucas Fascinating to visit. Stimulating all round. It’s a real learning experience hearing about the original owners and viewing their sculptures. Very arty home. Plenty to look at. Fulfilling experience

Deborah Lee I did a sculpture workshop here with my sister on 14 July. After multiple follow-ups borh phone and email, where they hadnt taken the initiative to give updates and then kept saying itll "be a couple of weeks", I was supposed to pick up the sculptures today (nearly 3 months later) at a specific time. I live a fair way away and came here to find the place closed up and they hadnt notified me, AGAIN. Extremely poor customer service, would never do a workshop here again. Still havent received our sculptures.

Laura Yuile Cute but not many gnomes. Good for my toddler but we created a bit of theatre. The surrounds and the rest of the trail are great so it was just an on-the-way stop.
3 /5
Chad Aizicowitz Lovely little gnomes. They’re my best gnomey friends. I believe them to be the mightiest gnomes in all the land. 10/10.
5 /5
Ria The gnome population has shrunk a bit since what earlier photos show.

Pete Seems fun, worth a look during lockdown if its on your regular walk

Imges Peverill Park

Rintaro It is a wonderful park surrounded by a large lawn. There is a lot of fun and unique playground equipment. There are benches, trash cans, and a water area. I think this park would be much more attractive if they installed Toilet and BBQ facilities.
4 /5
David Brudenell I like this place. Quaint small park, with a small range of great play equipment. It’s usually fairly quiet - doesn’t get the crowds other local parks do (Phoenix Park for example) so it’s a nice alternative, with a huge grass field and a sport wall ready for action. Complete with covered seating area (though no bbq) it’s a nice place stop for a while.
5 /5
Alex Jabornik Another cute little park and playground for local people to take their children to. Well maintained by the local council, but unfortunately positioned near the M1 exit, with quite a bit of noise pollution. Not enough to bother children, but enough to annoy adults. Which is a pity as the nice lawn areas and small pagoda would otherwise make this small park an ideal picnic area Has no wheelchair accessible play equipment.
3 /5
Llewyn Henderson We go here to throw a basketball around. The ring itself is great, the paved area around the ring is to small. Great play equipment and a nice clean half oval. All round a nice quiet park that kind of hidden.

Caroline McGettigan Lovely stop off place. Has picnic benches, childrens playground and lots of shade. No toilets but a short walk to a Cafe.
