Arturo We had an appointment for our baby 2 weeks ago, we waited for vitals like 30 minutes, they sent us to the room a waited in there for like 1 and a half hour, doctor never went we decided to leave and complain about it… today we went back and seems they skipped us in purpose all people went first before us. We asked like three times and said they didn’t have enough rooms but other people were coming and leaving, I guess they can’t take criticism… they just don’t care

However, getting an appointment has been an incredibly frustrating experience. For the past week, Ive tried to reach a scheduler, spending at least 30 minutes on hold before the call gets disconnected. This has been extremely disappointing. Brittany Baucom I highly recommend that you go somewhere else if you don’t like your time wasted repeatedly and want staff that actually care about your wellbeing. It’s clear these people are only there for a check and have communication problems with the other staff there. They take hours just to discharge you, send you to get lab work done when you don’t need it (according to the lab services) and don’t follow common practices like giving you your discharge paperwork? They also expect you to ask and know everything about pregnancy and the genetic tests for it. Very chaotic place, I wouldn’t suggest my worst enemy to come here. If I could give it less than one stars I would. Shame on these people.

Mitchell Madison No matter what phone line options you choose it is unlikely anyone will ever answer your call. Ive spent greater than 7 hours on hold across 2 weeks and gotten through to them only once in that time, (I often gave up after greater than 1 hour holds on most occasions) and the only time I got through the person who answered was unable to answer my questions and said theyd leave a note with the question and I would be called back. Its now been over a week later with no call back.

Johny Cage It is a good hospital to have your new baby born, I give it 2 starts because of the waiting time is ridiculous, I took my baby for a bleeding in his pop and we wait one hour to be registered and another hour to check his virales, then they took us with another infants to a different room and we wait another hour and half and I believe it was only one pediatrician to see all the infants one at the time, me and my wife decided to leave the place because no one was communicating anything about the waiting period and we where getting so frustrated especially our baby boy. We took like a whole 3+ hours waiting and idk how long they would have take for them to call us to see what was going on with our baby. We end up going to a different hospital and we only wait couple hours for the whole process. But I wouldn’t recommend this hospital for any type of emergencies.

Sabrina Nevarez I cannot thank the staff at Kern Medical enough! From the ER staff, Radiology, surgical staff, Pediatrics, and Nutrition, thank you for the care given to my son. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure he was taken care of. If it were not for Kern Medical, I could have lost my son. Thank you for listening to our concerns and running the appropriate tests to get him diagnosed. I am beyond greatful for the care he received.

Morgan Middleton As an otherwise healthy & young woman I came here to deliver my 2nd child. I waited for 8 HOURS before leaving the waiting room to be sent home to labor more, came back with my water broke- I was forced to WALK across the whole hospital, waited 2 hours, and eventually had an emergency C section. Well from that I contracted MRSA which I battled for 6 MONTHS with no treatment regardless of multiple trips to their ER which I spent literally 14 hours in the lobby and couldnt go anywhere else because of the fact it was a KMC surgical issue- after 6 months I developed an abscess in my incision- it ruptured leaving me with a forever crater in my stomach. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO DELIVER YOUR CHILDREN ELSEWHERE. Oh and to add to the horror the surgeon began to cut me open with ZERO PAIN MEDS OR ANESTHESIA OR AN EPIDURAL

Monica santana After a major car accident with OBVIOUS injuries, they neglected care. We demanded x-rays or at least some type of scan and they said no because the foot was “fine” only by looking at it. When we went to Mercy hospital, they found the foot was broken. They also did not allow other people to enter emergency rooms because it was “too full.” This was the most unsatisfactory hospital experience I’ve came across.

Collaboration I recently visited Kern Medical and, unfortunately, had an unpleasant experience at the reception desk. The receptionist, who had golden hair, displayed unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior. She was not helpful and failed to provide clear or adequate information regarding my visit. As the first point of contact for patients, receptionists play a crucial role in creating a positive experience, and this encounter left a lot to be desired. I hope the hospital management addresses these issues to ensure patients feel respected and supported upon arrival.

Tate Lamas If u need to see an ENT literally go anywhere but here. This guy hates his job so much he was pretty rude and judgey for someone WHO IS NOT A DENTIST. I wish I never wasted my time with him. His medical assistant was an absolute angel so sweet and kind and very personable which I appreciate greatly. Some comments you just shouldnt say out loud. Everyone else in this office was very sweet especially the front desk lady who checked us in upon arrival and the medical assistant.

Angelina Guzman Thank you Dr. Michael Eagen for providing me with little to no information on how to care for my elbow and fractured right arm. Because of you, I will lose full range of motion because you and your staff failed to advise me on how care for myself once I left surgery. Paperwork provided says “remove bandages after 3 days”. Yet you put me in a cast to treat a fracture? Nothing makes mention of my cast in the post op paperwork. When I called and even showed up to your fresh fracture clinic for clarification on why I am still in pain and whether or not I needed to keep this soft cast on or “take off after 3 days” along with my bandages, you Dr. Eagan refused to see me even though I had waited 2 hours as a walk in to for clarification on aftercare. I was sent home with no information on how to manage the pain and still no clear cut answer on whether or not I needed to remove my soft cast. They told me they would not see me until my appointment on 6/6/24. Fast forward to today I wait 2 hours after my 9:30am appointment just for you all to cut off my cast. I expressed that I was still in pain and insisted I wanted it back on just until this Sunday. The cast has been protecting my fracture and elbow surgery but both the NP and Dr.Eagen refused to put it back on or give it to me to put on at least until Sunday. I promised him I’d take it off and start my PT after my concert this weekend but he said no. Forcing me to be out in the elements with a stiff and painful arm from 1pm to 11pm this coming Saturday. Because I was not being told to remove my cast sooner, I will lose my range of motion in my right arm and elbow. (Your words, not mine) which is unfortunate. This was Information I begged for over the phone and in person and was ignored, so thanks to him I will be disabled in my right arm. So with all this being said, why not just put my soft cast back on if I am requesting it? I am only planning on wearing it for 2 more days. It’s been on for 2 weeks already and because of your negligence post-op, the damage is done. I’ll be in touch with a lawyer regarding the mismanagement of my injury

Tony Hambrick I have been going to this office for over 10 years and used to love it. They seemed to really care abotut there patients, definitely not the case now. In the last 3 years something has happened it has gone down hill. Today I had an appointment to get cleared for a surgery. To have a CANCEROUS bump taken out of my mouth. I have been trying to get this taken care of for over 6 months. They tell me they cant do it . They need some paperwork. I explained what was going on but that didnt matter on top of that there next appointment was a month out. The person at the desk seemed mad when I asked who told her this. She eventually told me DERICKA a nurse. I really like the doctor I see. By the time this all gets done it will probably be the beginning of the year before I can schedule the surgery. Hopefully this hasnt grown to much by then.

Jonathan Herrera Every time I or my wife come here, we wait over an hour in the waiting room. Don’t come here if you want to sit forever to get results. Had x-rays done and never got a call for the results. We can go to urgent care and get the results of an xray within 5 minutes of taking them. We have currently been waiting for 5 days to find out the results. All while the foot is still in pain

DeAnna Jacobs This is the worst place for patient care. My mom went in for an x-ray on a Saturday for her foot, 11 days later my mom called to find out what the x-rays showed. Oh she has a broken foot. She has been walking around on a broken foot for 11 days, she is 74 years old.. She had to call them - they never called her to give her the results. Talk about bad patient care, no patient care. Dignity Health has gotten horrible with patient care.

Rafealla My experience with Dr. Zeba Yamin was the worst experience I have ever had with any doctor…. and I wouldn’t want anyone to have to go though this. Dr. Yamin isn’t just in a rush and extremely impersonal…. but she was even rude in showing lack of care in listening or helping me with my issues and concerns. I’ll never go back to her.

Lisa Scovill I took my 91 year old mom for an appointment here following a short hospital stay. She saw Phyllis, the NP. She was greeted warmly by the staff, and Phyllis took the time to listen to my mom’s concerns and answered her questions. My mom is still talking about her nice visit. Well done!

Christie Rodriguez Do not use this office if you can avoid it. They are terrible to get in touch with. They do not answer their phone most of the time. You will just circle back through the prompts continually. When they do answer, they are not professional at all. I have had them schedule my mom for an over the phone appointment and when the appointment day came, no one called. I had to call in to them and they said they never set the appointment up even though I spoke with Dr. Gearhearts MA, who set up the appointment directly with me. It is a joke there.

Jessica Coughran I will admit the front office staff and communication, trying to get a hold of the office, making an appointment are awful. I would give 0 stars! It is awful!!! They are open but never answer their phones. But on the other hand Dr. Shelia Mendoza is a God send. She is a wonderful doctor who is compassionate, listens, and actually really cares about her patients. I would give her 5 stars. So if your willing to deal with a crappy office but a wonderful doctor then I would recommend Dr. Mendoza.

Briii Dr Diane G is AMAZING I’ve never felt so listened to and understood by a neurologist! I read reviews and was skeptical (especially since it’s quite a drive) but going to see her as opposed to the other local neuros I’ve seen closer to me is WELL worth it !!!

Stacy Nevins UPDATE: I have left multiple messages for the MD nurses staff, the front desk and tried calling every extension and NOBODY answers the phone OR returns calls when you leave a message. I even left a message with their answering service that is a third party company that answers during lunch hours. They were more polite than the actual staff. She assured me that my message would get to the manager. So I know it did and I am just being blatantly ignored. I finally left a nasty message for the woman at the front and have contacted our doctor who will be sending a referral to a different pediatric neurologist. It’s pretty sick to treat an 8 year old patient like this. In fact….. it’s disgusting. I have been trying to get my daughter’s MRI orders fixed for almost a year now. My little girl is 8 years old and suffering with bad migraines. They are only getting worse. The woman that answers the phone is so rude and will hang up on you if you ask to talk to a manager. I asked to talk to a manager because they rarely answer the phone and when they finally do you get promised that they will help you and fix the problem and never do. I have left voicemails and have NEVER received a call back. Literally NEVER. I spoke with the manager over a month ago and she assured me that this would get fixed and here we are over a month later and the MRI place has still not received the new orders. I called multiple times and the lady finally answered and was so rude and when I asked to talk to the manager again she said to call back and I questioned what she meant (eg. is she not there? Can you not help me? What do you mean by call back?) She then hung up on me and will now not answer the phone. It’s disgusting how this person acts. So unprofessional. If the doctor wasn’t so good with my daughter I would have left a long time ago. It’s really sad because this place could be great with the right staff and phone system. Not sure why that lady hasn’t been fired. There are way more talented people out there that could take her place. Customer service is dead nowadays. Awful. I will be going to the medical board with this. My little girl is suffering and they don’t care! If something is seriously wrong with her and they could have helped her a long time ago…… just know I have everything documented. Hire the right people!

Mike I went here for lab work. Was process quick. Took about 15 to 30 minutes since the covid-19 I thought I was going to be there a long time. But It was really quick. I return to here to day and the emergency waiting room is empty. Theyre not letting anyone in but the patients which is a good thing all the other times I been to this hospital it was always packed. But I was told that inside the emergency room they are super busy. Bathroom is very nice and clean.

Leticia Crabbe If you have an emergency call an ambulance you have a better chance to be seen faster. The ER set up is like an old war scene , you Waite in one room for hours then you Waite in a second room for hours it’s like they are hoping you get better on your own. Such horrible emergency care.

Torch Tails Best ER in town, have an emergency? Go here. Got a room within an hr, they immediately decided I needed scans, they treat you so so well here. Staff are friendly and check up when they can (remember they have other patients!!) And always come when you call them. I will say it sometimes a little bit of wait on meds so you could be in pain for a little bit when you need your second dose but best ER in town.

Franberry I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this facility. I came in with severe double vision and was discharged without any scans being recommended or performed. Instead, I was referred to an ophthalmologist who does not accept my insurance, leaving me without proper follow-up care. When I informed the hospital the same day that the referral wasn’t covered, I was told I could return for scans—but that I would have to pay for another full ER visit, despite this being a continuation of the same issue. In other words, I was sent home without proper testing, given an unusable referral, and then expected to pay again just to get the care I should have received in the first place. This is completely unacceptable. A patient with severe double vision should not be discharged without proper imaging or an appropriate referral. Patients deserve thorough evaluations and referrals that actually lead to treatment, not dead ends and unnecessary extra charges. This experience was a complete failure in patient care.

Eros Zamora I’ve been here for over 8 hours. With a IV syringe in my arm waiting for my results for the past 4 hours. The service for getting treatment was fast and reliable. But for the results? INSANE. I asked if the results were ready, and they said it was and to wait, but other patients where being discharged while I sit here and wait. If my results are ready why are patients who were here after me getting called in? I asked if they could remove the IV from my arm since its in a tight vein and they said to wait until discharge and see if I need more bloodwork. When will that be? In another 4 hours? I am sorry but this cannot be the only hospital that accepts Kaiser. Please do better with communicating with patients on why the waits are happening. I work in the mornings and It’s ridiculous to wait 8 hours in an empty ER room.

Her name is Dolores I believe she is in Triage and how dare her underestimate or idk what word to use that my pain level is minimal than what my real pain is? My pain was from 1-10 a 10! Erik Bucher To all employers/employees: your time is valuable and thats why Im writing this. This facility has a complete disregard for your time. They seem to be completely understaffed and therefore cannot see patients in a timely manner. If youre coming here because its cheaper, think twice. Youll end up paying with your time 10 fold. This is a poorly ran clinic and it would be in your best interest to take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of other industrial health clinics in Bakersfield that are much more professional.

Yeah the wait is a bit long and people may get mad that people are seen before them, but the staff is friendly and even though I felt a bit awkward, they went out of their way to make conversation and lighten the mood. Rabeyia Jones I really liked this place originally, but all appointments are two weeks out if you have to reschedule. The one time I got a teledoc appointment I was told I couldnt pickup MY copy of my health documents after because my appointment was over the phone and they send everything to my employer and workers comp. This doesnt make any sense because every time I go in person, they give me two copies...one for me and one for work.... be consistent. Another issue with teledoc is you seem to get swept under the rug, I had a great appointment with the doctor prescribing new meds and the prescription was never called in, so Ive been sufferring because I thought there was just a delay due to the holidays. My rating was high before I asked the office staff to do anything, I feel bad for the doctors and the medical staff because their office cant get it together. ****Original review is below**** This office is a lot better for workers comp than the last place I was at. Doctors listen to you and work with you to find the best solution for you. Office staff is prompt and efficient, and Im always in and out in no time! People forget that getting medical care is a collaborative effort between patients, doctors, office staff, and nurses. If you do your part, they can do theirs and take care of you properly.

Erika Pulido WORSE PLACE EVER FRONT Receptionists BAD Attitude it’s always their way ……filling out paperwork that you need and they charge you for it after they make the mistake of filling it wrong, they still charge you again Worst customer service also with physicians. Smh I’ve worked in the medical field myself and never seen it this bad like This Office, they are always right never make a mistake. Take responsibility and if you don’t like your job go somewhere else be kind.
