Johnny Blues Been here so long waiting almost 2 hours now. Barely anyone here and they keep skipping me. Havent even called me for the check in exam. The place is dirty tonight and smells bad. Its really hot in here. The bathrooms are disgusting and the vending machine is broken and took my money. Ill never come back here.

pshoan Wife had severe abdomen pain.
Called 911.
Guys showed up in 7 minutes.
Took her here in 10 minutes.
Sat with her until she got a bed in ER (30 minutes)
All the doctors and nurses in ER were attentive, very polite and professional. Never refused to answer my stupid questions and discuss my amateur theories.
Ran a bunch of tests: blood, ultrasound, MRI
Discovered appendicitis after 7 hours of testing
Surgery in 1 hour after the diagnosis
Done
My wife is alive and well all thanks to these incredible people
P.S. on top of that the hospital is very clean and modern

Bea Catapang I’m so grateful for my experience at this emergency department. From the security team to the medical staff who helped me exit, everyone on Nov 5, 2024 night shift was incredible. Their calm, efficient and friendly approach put me at ease during a stressful time. The place was also organized and clean. They were friendly and accommodating and my friend who waited with me also felt comfortable. Even though it was a busy night, the team managed everything quickly. I was done within two hours. The x-ray staff was as kind and even took the time to ask how to pronounce my name correctly and also explained the entire process politely to me. I’m truly thankful for what you all do and appreciate each of you. Keep it up. Thank you!

Mary Cheung EMERGENCY ROOM is Very disappointing so far. I had tested myself for covid. Went to urgent care and was told I could only go to emergency room or my physician. Reason being that at the ER hospitals they will have an Isolation room so that I dont inffect everyone else.
I though they would take covid pretty seriously. Only to find they have checked us in, with no seemingly urgency to the fact that I have covid. There is no room in which to Isolation me. So I am just sitting in general population and am sitting 6 ft away from anyone else... thats it.
It seemed like their staff was pretty efficient and quick. But I had to keep telling them the same info over and over again. And over an hr and a half later am still sitting in waiting area with everyone. My daughter came to get tested to make sure she Doesnt have it. And in alllllll this time... they have yet to give her a covid test yet.
Honesty if I knew it was so hard to get that done...I would of grabbed a home test kit and had her tested by now.
We were told, had to jump through all these hoops in order to get the Covid treatment by all the web site info I have searched. Only to find Every thing is not as what you read or..
As easy and simple as it should be with covid.
So! It seems... you should have the decency to catch covid during hrs where you can go to your regular physician, or...... have all the time in the world to sit in ER with everyone else while you have a high chance of infecting everyone. The restrooms didnt even have the foot door pulls. So you know, everyone else is touching the handles....
Ok. This is ridiculous.... we have talked to 4 different people at different stages... and NOBODY knows anything that the person b4 them asked. Even though. People are writing stuff down and taking notes..... and they keep asking the Same... questions. Again... why arent they reading the chart and the notes??? Soo unefficent!
We finally get into the "inner" room and they asked why are we here and what do we hope to happen while here?
Ahh I dont know.. youre only the 6th person weve told that I have Covid! and would like to be treated for it... as well test my daughter to see if she is safe or not.
There has GOT to be a better system. This one isnt working. There are so many problems I see that need fixing with our medical system. And you would think that , at least this.. Emergency room can do better to serve the public and... their employees better. I am very very disappointed indeed with this place. Had I know this was how it ran...I would of waited till tomorrow morning then go to my regular physician.
1. See physician
2. Test for covid
3. Get treatment
Thats it!! Thats how it should be!!!
Approaching 2 hr mark here in the ER......
Oh... and there signage directions are HORRIBLE I keep going around and around.. never quite finding the entrance to the ER or parking entrance for the ER. Really they need to fix that...
UPDATE
3 hrs later, we finally talk to the nurse who saw us. And I have to say, I appreciated the Wisdom of her decision for the choice that she made for why she didnt give us the Covid treatment. And if I wasnt so irrated, stressed & annoyed at how the entire evening went, I would of been more appreciative. So heres the conclusion:
1. Sent home with printed instructions for what to do. Didnt need any covid treatment because we were healthy and strong enough to just deal with it as per printed instructions.
But had to ask them, wait... what do I do? Because Ive never had covid.
2. Was never isolated while in waiting room with everyone else.... once identified as to what I have the minute I stepped in to the ER, shouldnt they of put us somewhere separate as to not infect the other people .
3. There needs to be better communicate btw nurses As well with patients as to what the"steps & procedures" are, so youre not just sitting around waiting not knowing why, just getting more pissed. Knowing & understanding what their game plan for you is, goes along way too being a better & less angry patient.

Mikey Harmon If someone is experiencing symptoms of appendicitis, you don’t make them wait. You get them on a gurney and order a CT scan. That’s exactly what they did. Every staff member I interacted with was extremely thoughtful across all departments I had to go through. ER, OR, Oncology, and Radiation. Really can’t thank them enough.
USC had me waiting on the floor of the ER for hours before we just left. Wish I had come here first and should I need to in the future, I will. Avoid USC Verdugo at all costs.
