Judith Dimalanta Was a patient of Dr McQuinn as I was referred due to constant debilitating migraines. I was told that the prior auth for Nurtec would only take a week. Dr. McQuinn is a lovely doctor but whoever runs this office needs to rethink their career choice. I called the office for MONTHS ON END and they never got back to me. Eventually they updated the answering machine voicemail and said Dr. McQuinn moved offices. Why did it take so long to update the office voicemail if they supposedly check it everyday. I call the number of her new office. Crickets. I call again and get someone on the phone (who was kind) and she said Dr. Mcquinn RETIRED. So I spent $15 for a co-pay each time I visited and each time they said the Nurtec prior auth was getting done and months later after endless calls I get news that she retired??? The front office said “You need to find a new neurologist to write then your prescription.” Why couldnt the office I had been going to FOR MONTHS do it when I was there?? They dropped the ball and an INCREDIBLY disappointed. There are no excuses. I have done prior auths at previous jobs and it is EASY. It’s a phone call to the insurance company and some cross checking and it is complete. Completely and utterly dissatisfied. If you want subpar care, come here! Otherwise I would suggest anywhere but here. I while the doctors at this office are wonderful, the office staff were HORRIBLE. They get paid to do what exactly? Sit around and not pick up the phones not check the voicemail? Not do the prior auths?
I have never left a bad review about a medical practice but this left a sour taste in my mouth. For all that is good, fire the office staff or get them retrained.

Annie Jackson Dr McQuinn is a great doctor! Knowledgeable, helpful, caring and kind. Her staff is professional and helpful too! Dont know what would have happened to me without her guidance and skill. God bless her.

Otis Morgan 3 phone calls, over a month waiting, emails asking for my appointment after my doctor referred me and finally, after all of this, the medical assistant says they dont cover what I need. Neurology isnt something you can wait on. Dont waste your time with this unprofessional office.

Paige Peterson Ive never left a bad review for a medical office before, and hate to do it, but absolutely must in this case.
First off, Dr. McQuinn is amazing. She is incredibly kind, caring, and detail-oriented. She helped determine exactly what I needed and really helped me get on the right path towards treating my migraines.
Her staff and office, on the other hand, are a disaster. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional office before. She started me on a new medication in May, and told me to take some samples home while they worked with my insurance. A couple months later and there was no update, so I picked up more samples. I reminded them I needed the prescription filled and they said they would work on it. More time goes by with no update, and I decide to discuss it at my appointment at the beginning of September. I spoke with the receptionist who promised me and the doctor she would handle it that day. I told them I would not be picking up any more samples after that, as I am disabled and its a lot of work for me to drive all the way there every month to get a sample when it should just be sent to my pharmacy.
After speaking with my pharmacy two weeks later and them telling me they have faxed the office three times requesting a prior authorization and had not heard anything back, I began calling weekly. No one at the office ever picked up, but I left a detailed voice mail each time. After a few weeks I began calling and leaving voice mails every other day. The patient portal would no longer work for whatever reason, but I did send some emails to the office as well (including one with the subject line "ATTN: Dr. McQuinn"). Never heard back.
FINALLY, last week, after advancing to daily calls, the receptionist (the same one who claimed she was working on my prescription) answered and had no clue who I was, even when I asked if they checked messages (she said they do every day), if the phone number was correct, if the email address was correct, or if there was any other number or email to use. She told me to use the portal. I told her the portal wouldnt work for me and that I would like to speak to a tech department to figure out why. She said there was no tech department (Im pretty sure AthenaHealth must have one....) and that in the meantime just keep calling. I told her that I couldnt reach anyone on the phone, so she told me.....use the portal!
Because of my phone conversation with her, she finally requested a prior authorization that day. A few hours later, my insurance company told me it was denied. That happens, so I wasnt too concerned, but I knew that I would need to get a hold of the office again because it seemed unlikely they would try to resolve this on their own. I left a voice mail every day until the weekend, and again today.
Finally, this afternoon, that same receptionist answered the phone. She told me that they were not contracted with my insurance and never had been and that I needed to find a new provider. This is the doctor my insurance navigator directed me to, the doctor whose bills have been paid for by my insurance, the doctor who has worked with them on previous prescription prior auths, etc. What the hell?
I have never been so disappointed or disgusted with a medical office. Im a relatively understanding and forgiving person and tend to put up with bs probably more than I should, but this is just insane. Besides one or two voicemails where I was obviously irritated, I think I have been incredibly patient with them, despite the poor management. But the few times I actually spoke with anyone, she was incredibly rude and just made things 100x more difficult. Im incredibly thankful that she wasnt treating anything more life-threatening or serious than my migraines because I literally would be dead by now and they wouldnt even notice.
The irony of this being the doctor to treat my chronic migraines is just too much. If I wasnt already prone to them, Id certainly have a migraine after dealing with this office.
