The Best 17 highly rated medical facilities near Hayward, CA

E M I was admitted here many weeks ago. I have been in ICU and not. I like the ICU and the nurses there. the staff is friendly and most days knowledgeable about everything. Those that aren’t get someone who is. Speaking with the doctors can take some time but they are friendly and answer questions in a way I understand. Rehab is amazing. They are the highlight of my day.

Mark Larsen My Wife was transfer here after having a set back from surgery. I am happy for the most part on the care she is receiving from the nursing & rehab staff. Where I am disappointed & frustrated is the line of communication from the specialized doctors, Nurse practitioners & her case manager. My wife has been here for a month now & it took me rattling cages to finally have them call me to get an update. The update I received 2 1/2 - 3 weeks in was very unsettling left me feeling dismissed & like we didnt matter. I had a frank conversation with them all saying I dont need to hear an excuse, or to be dismissed. That I need to hear that I have been heard & that we will do better moving forward. That the updates can be as simple as everything is stable & we are happy with the improvements she has made this week. but to hear nothing or to be dismissed is unacceptable. Things seem to have improved after I called them out & I will update my review once my wife has been discharged. To be fair to all parties involved we are human, we are flawed. But we all need to have opportunities to correct our mistakes.

Sonya Cloud If you can avoid this hospital for your loved one avoid it. My husband was transferred January 22 he had shown significant improvements the week before. On the 23rd they had him in ICU due to elevated white blood cells. Still waiting on a call back about what happened during the transport and when he got there to cause this since he was perfectly fine the day before! When I went to see my husband the nurses weren’t speaking to him didn’t have the tv on just no care at all. He passed 1/25. I got a call from the dr and that was it. While trying to find a mortuary to get him too they sent him to the mortuary they use with no notification at all. I wish he never would’ve have went here! Still a month later no return calls from anyone. If I could go back I would’ve refused to allow him to go here. Just all around HORRIBLE

Kim Shiu From the very point of admission to the 6th day of stay, the wonderful staff (doctors, nurses, therapists, and security) had my fathers interest at heart. They took the extra mile to make sure they answered all our questions. Not only that, they are attentive to our own needs and comfort. At this point, they have exceeded my expectations. I feel very confident that they will help my father during his stay. If you are looking for an acute facility in the San Francisco Bay Area, I high recommend this one!

Gary Wortham My wife was there for slightly more than 2 months. While the hospital is a bit old, its clean and every doctor, nurse, therapist and reception staff member was compassionate and very skilled. We highly recommend Kindred. Only 4 stars because the elevators break down and the cafeteria only serves lunch.

phil endre Currently they are employing a nurse at one of there locations that has been stalking and harassing me, this nurse has tried to encourage and push me to commit suicide. Nurse Amador is a danger to any patient and is currently still trying to harass and stalk me. I’ve tried reaching out to administration about it but honestly they don’t care. If you use any service through them please be careful. The nurse has gone out of the way to take personal information that was given to her supervisors to harass and threaten me.

Kai Very unprofessional doctors and blood drawers, extremely rude, I have seen many people have the same experience, I dont understand why they continue to work there? Is there no one to control these unprofessional and rude people? I hope they will be fired as soon as possible and replaced by more professional and more worthy people

Lizet Cervantes Rheumatoid doctor is the worst, had the doctor and student laughing after denying more analysis on worrying tests that signal autoimmune diseases. He kept insisting it was either lupus or just age but theyre in their early 40s, can you imagine?! Shes complaining of her arms inflammation and horrible pains she cant handle and the doctor pretty much tells her to not bother with him?! Horrible, will be calling to complain and with medical board for medical negligence for omissions. He shouldnt be a doctor anymore if your business is getting patients out without a care in their treatment. If you got a horrible and negligent doctor you should report them too. Stop letting these clinics hire good for nothing doctors.

Dung Tran My dad has been there since December 2018. Current Date is 08/10/21. Theres times when it can get difficult to reach anyone by phone on the weekends, but they have treated my dad with the utmost respect and kindness. My dad sometimes has a hard time understanding the staff because he speaks Vietnamese mostly, but somehow they make it work. Thank you Hayward Hills!

Frisco415 California Horrible place. It’s old dirty and falling apart. The health care is terrible. My family memeber suffered there. Left in dirty diapers for 6-9 hours. The help isn’t helping. Don’t send anyone you love there. This is a place where people go to die alone. It pains me to know the things my loved one went through. Our family was always there with our family members a lot and we made our presence known hoping they would see see that he has people in his life, hoping they would do better but it never happened. This place is falling apart with no plans on doing any repairs. Every time I arrived there the employees where sitting down on there phones while patients yell and scream for help. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy.

Emmanuel R The doctor suggested that my mom go to a nursing home after her hip surgery and this place was 1 of 3 options. I was reluctant to send my mom anywhere because of the bad rapport from the news and social media of how these places treat our elders. I chose Hayward Hills because they went beyond expectations to make sure mothers stay was comfortable and the care given was genuine. They were first to respond after calling each nursing home and I was given a virtual tour immediately by their Marketing Director. They made the transition very smooth and easy that I had forgotten about the other prospects. The nursing staff took care of my mom very well and attended her every need. My only concern now is that my mom doesnt want to leave. My review was based on post pandemic June 2021-July 2021. I hope by telling my experience will help another family in their decision making process during a difficult time in their life.

Jay doggy Walton This place is horrible. Do not send you love ones here. My dad has been in this place since August, I have little to no communication with his guess. I have called everyday for the last weeks, left messages and spoke with the receptionist, no one has even called me back. I have requested for the doctor the nurse or my father social worker to give me a call still I have not received a car. I have requested either email address or a direct number in which I have not received either. When I am transferred to the nurse or social worker by the receptionist Irma, all of their voicemails are full so I can’t even leave a voicemail for someone to give me a call back.Obviously they have Covid restrictions, that doesn’t allow for anyone to come to the facility. So I am left to keep calling with no response or answers as to what’s going on with my father, not to mention he has tested positive for Covid. They have not given me any updates on his condition. I warn anyone please do not send your love one to this facility. Signed a worried daughter

mary reilly The facility is very clean and the nurses are beyond the best, they are kind, loving, and know how to make you feel comfortable. The food is not have bad, not like when you cook it yourself but darn close. I WILL GIVE THE FACILITY A 100 STARS IF I COULD. LONG STORY SHORT, IF I HAD TO COME BACK IT WOULDNT BE TERRIBLE, IT WOULD BE NICE AND I WOULD DEFINITELY TELL OTHERS TO ASKED TO GO HERE THEN ANY OTHER FACILITIES.

VIOLA terrible place, terrible receptionist. My child came with toothache for the 2nd visit and was not admitted to the doctor because the receptionist told me that I was late. I was even 2 minutes earlier. Horrible service, the child suffers in pain because they did not want to work today Dr. is very nice but the receptionist should leave this job.

If he brings problems from home, he should leave them before entering work. He should not be in that place. It is my first experience in this place after so many years here in this clinic with a person as arrogant as he is. I asked him several questions and he answered me reluctantly and waiting without doing anything. Finally, I asked him his name and he told me that her name is Vanessa Días. Jon Langshaw After scheduling specifically with this facility because it ties into an aggregated app for my company’s healthcare, I arrived at the appointment 10 minutes early. After 60 minutes, we still did not see a doctor. When I asked why we had not been seen, expressed my displeasure, and stated I would leave, the nurse simply said, “ok” and smiled. She also could not give me a reason why we had not been seen and almost acted as if she was trying to ignore me and my daughter. Don’t go here, go ANYWHERE else. Go to the 7-Eleven for a diagnosis before you come here.

Mary Kaili I absolutely love this hospital. I have went here for myself and my child and I have never received better care anywhere else. The receptionist are always so nice and efficient, and the doctors and nurses care about you and listen to you. They dont let you leave feeling okay, you leave welhen you feel great. Everyone is so sweet and so kind an caring. ♥️ Unless I have to go to emergency, this hospital is my go-to for urgent care.

Christopher Borges For COVID Testing: Arrived at 8am on Dec. 29 in the drive-thru line, no appointment (appointments right now are only available about 5 days in advance). It took about 2.5 hours to get through and get tested. When Monica (nurse) arrived, she was very friendly and I even remarked that I had to do ANOTHER test that weekend due to an international flight. She helped me get an appointment (which you can only do if you talk to someone personally). I was pretty impressed, but the wait is really long (when I left there were cars out into the street and I imagine close to a 4h wait).

I am Slay3r11602 HORRRIBLE SERVICE put my family into a panic over a false positive covid test a few weeks before our first family trip out of california ever. The doctors were extremely unhelpful in trying to figure out what was wrong with me, they tested me twice on things that had already been negative and refused to test for anything new. They then told me it was covid which made no sense im fully vaxinated and wear my mask literally everywhere. My family and i got tested as a whole the very next day in oakland and all of us came back negative myself included. Will not be returning and would never recommend this place to even my worst enemy extremely dissatisfied with your service

Chidinma Barrett Please avoid Dr Johri at your own risk. On 12/20/23, She was unprofessional and hostile during a video visit. After repeatedly yelling at me, she hung up on me while I was trying to explain the reason why I needed her medical attention. This is the second time, I have experienced this cruelty. I have complained about this doctor during my last office visit on 08/17/23. She was nice to other patients, but she was very mean to me. The hospital didn’t reprimand her. She is the cruelest doctor I have ever met in my entire life.

Arwin June Vicente I work for Stanford after having Kaiser for decades I decided to switch to Stanford. My wife make her first ever appointment (ob) after 2 weeks of waiting they cancel her appointment they called us late in the morning also. Dr. Stays will be on procedure thats why we are canceled they offer us another appointment with in 3 weeks OMG. They dont have any available Md to take over that day unlike Kaiser. We ask for day off for this and its wasted. This place is a Joke. Planning to move to Kaiser next year. Stanford should check what they affiliate first.

The Dr.s Ive seen have been great I see Dr. Karnani and she is a great Doctor. Ever since they became part of Stanford Health Care it has become difficult to get through on the phones for an appointment or just to speak to anyone but thats like that almost in every medical office. Their new phone systems do s...ck but everywhere you call is the same thing.

I have a full time job & cannot come & go as I please. I called yesterday & they urged me to book an appointment to avoid longer wait times. So I come here on time for them to completely disrespect my time. If I’m gonna wait a hour or 2 I might at well go to the emergency room, which I’m doing as I type. Yet you’ve confirmed my appointment and have taken my insurance info. I can’t even leave your staff a voicemail. Terrible and unacceptable service for a patient who came for an urgent medical issue.

For one I’ve been a patient there for quite a while so they should know me and would have thought there was some respect but apparently not. So long story short went to get medicine they gave me a shot I ended up drowsy after I was going to pull out of driveway so I waited for a moment and all of a sudden a car comes through very impatiently honking their horn so I turned to look because I was out of it for a second wondering what the hell is he holding his horn for next thing you know Dr . Bhandari the “Medical Director “ came banging on my window i didn’t feel safe at this point because the anger he had then opened my door without my permission and threatened to call police on me saying this is private property that I need to leave I felt unsafe and very confused because I’m a patient here and the way I was treated was not OKAY AT ALL. Told him I was a patient after he called police on me when I just had a shot from your doctors and I felt very drowsy . I felt he could Of handled that another way but didn’t and was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL .

Bette Garcia There is nothing "Saintly" about this place so Im not sure why its called Saint Francis. More like Lucifer. Walked in for an appointment, the male receptionist had the sassiest attitude ever. Acted like he owned the clinic. I sat outside in the hot summer sun per his direction to complete paperwork and when I went inside I asked if they did chest X-rays as I was told to get one per an online urgent care doctor. The receptionist said they dont do chest X-rays there. I also asked if they could bill me for my copay and was told that was not allowed even though I was told by my insurance that they do. I wouldnt take my dog there for treatment. Go somewhere humane, professional, and competent.

Eneechii Branch Some of the staff, SOME are good but the physical therapy department is fairly good. The problem is the other staff are rude and lazy. A lot of the patients are drug addicts getting high in the bathroom and allowed to do whatever they want. Guests sleeping overnight making noise you cant rest. Ive been to three different nursing homes this is the worst one Cant wait until Im released, Ill run into traffic before I come here again

Angela Lacayo Almost two years ago I had to place my Dad at Hayward convalescent and I dont regret my decision, Everyone has helped me in process and I see how happy my dad is. The entire staff is very nice, sweet, kind, helpful,friendly, I couldnt do it without them. My dad is well taken care of he enjoys his daily activities, he is singing, dancing, he loves the staff. My dad is always clean, They keep me updated with his progress, medication, etc. I am very happy to see my dad happy. Thank you everyone at Hayward Convalescent!! Gema E.

Willa Tennant I will give Hayward Convalescent 5 stars again because Hector and Salitha have been very supportive since my moms arrival (08/2017)...Like family to my mom. If I have an issue theyre very responsive/helpful. Val, the nursing director, was also helpful recently.

Tee Dee Im only giving 1star because its the only option. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS INFORMATION ON THEIR WEBSITE, ITS A LIE. The staff werent wearing mask on November 19,2020 and the adminastrator knew and refused to address it. Contact the Dept. Of Public Health and The CA Dept. Of Licensing to get factual information by requesting a Request for Public Information to be obtained the truth. This place owner operates a few facilities which are jeapordizing the HEALTH and SAFETY of the most VULNERABLE people. Incontinence care, infection control, communication is significantly deficient. The activities director is pleasant but, the activities are the same boring repetitive games etc. Hayward Convalescent Hospital was problematic prior to Covid-19, and its much worse. Recently, Channel 4 Kron-TV did a story on the facility which didnt cover the real story about this place. ALL REGULATORY AGENCIES FAILED TO ACT, THEY RESPONDED BY BEING REACTIVE. Its sad that these people are mandatory reporters but fail to di their due diligence. I will provide contact information soon. I dont want anyone to be duped by this facility.

She was neglected in her care and I was not notified of any changes in mood or care. I had to be the one to speak out there was something wrong with her and then they did something about it. My almost 2 year old went here and was perfectly healthy, and comes back home with Hands mouth foot disease! Their unsanitary childrens "play area". Is the culprit for this! I felt she disregarded my concerns so she could hurry up and clock out. As a women’s doctor, you’d think she would be more attentive to other women’s concerns but no. Filosenia Filimoehala I highly do not recommend coming here. Staff are rude & very unprofessional. My first & last appointment with them. The doctor called me back & rushed through some question. She then told me to fully undress myself once she leave the room. As I am taking my pants off, an assistant walks right in without knocking. I quickly rush to cover up when she walks in talking smack about the doctor. (I do not blame the nurses/assistants. The doctor was very rude to them and all of her patients.) After she leaves, I start undressing again when the doctor & another assistant barge in without knocking. Instead of the doctor apologizing for barging in, she says “Why are you not undressed?!”. RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. They leave, I quickly undress in fear someone else will just walk in. When she finally comes in with the nurse, they are bickering the whole time. The doc saying “I’m quickly doing my part first then you guys can come in and do yours!” Just listen and do what I say type of energy. My poor nurse was sweet but the doctor was so rude!! She didn’t even tell me what test she was doing on me, just did it. She was going to leave without even doing an ultrasound. Then she sees the machine & says “Oh I forgot I have to do this.” while rolling her eyes. She used a glove to cover the ultrasound stick. ghetto. She rushed the ultrasound & didn’t even offer me an ultrasound photo. TERRIBLE treatment. After all that, I had to wait for her to fill out paper work for labs. She was purposely missing a certain piece of info & her excuse to the registration workers is that “I don’t have time for that! You can call my cell phone to get ahold of me.” UNPROFESSIONAL. Luckily, this isn’t my first pregnancy so I know what to expect & what is unacceptable. If you want to have a happy experience, please do not come here!

Balors Princess Tutorials Dont waste your time, Ive been here a few times..it was fine back in 2016 but it fell off. They no longer answer their phones, they dont care about patients. My dr said I only came for medicine when I didnt get medicine for a long time!.

Ruth Blais Worst experience. The front desk was nice in person, but trying to reach them through the phone is impossible. Had to wait 30 minutes past my appt to be seen, even when there was no one there but me. I could hear the doctor yelling at the front desk staff and being so rude. The room looked nasty and dirty. And when the doctor came in she looked busted she looked straight up hungover. Hair a mess makeup not even on her face the right way icky. She didnt listen to my responses to the questions she was asking, just rushing through the questions. When I asked just for an ultrasound because after seeing the state of the doctor I didnt feel comfortable doing a whole-body wellness check, She refused so I left. Definitely would not recommend anyone going here, these doctors need to be put into check, for bullying their staff, their unprofessionalisam and the state of the building being so nasty. Such low standards.

I have been waiting for almost 2hours for the doctor. and in the end, the doctor refused to take the test for me just because of her procedure. She has to follow her procedure to help me to process the test. then why do I waste my two hours there just for that answer？ why do I need to take the appointment just for your explanation about the test following her procedure？

Steven French Not a pleasant experience at all. I arrived worried I might be having heart issues. You will not be greeted by a person just a sign says to fill out a form. After some time, maybe 30min, I was interviewed about my issue. Maybe 30min later I was given an EKG and told to wait in the lobby. Three hours later I was advised the Dr was still too busy to discuss the results. In the end I never actually spoke to a Dr. Just a couple of nurses who only could say the Dr said the results didnt look too bad but that I needed to stay. Why stay if the results were OK? This had me still very anxious and nervous. I understand emergency rooms help in order if severity but I cannot accept that after that long not knowing if I was OK or not,that I wasnt worthy of 2 or 3 minutes from a Dr to calm my anxiety about my test results. I will not go back.

Sue D Worst ER. Incompetent doctors and nurses. They will experiment on your body until they can’t anymore and then transfer you somewhere else. Asked for a cup of water all night and nothing. That’s how they take care of their patients.

Ismo Baig Worst ER experience ever. They always have only 1 doctor who works 12hrs shifts per day. Been here multiple times same bad experience. Waited for many hours to be seen by doctor and wait again for discharge. Hospital is dirty and smells. Don’t waste your time. Drive few minutes to Fremont or Castro valley. Way better service. Worth the 10 minutes extra drive than waiting for hours.

GURISHAR SINGH I came here on 3/3/22 at 2.30pm and and they called me 5.30pm and get my urion sample and said wait out side. 6:50pm they called me again and get blood sample. 7 to10pm no one come and I asked on window they said we don’t know anything. Before I left I request to one of the nurse and I request her of you can ask anyone inside and help to my wife. I would say if you can wait go to Fremont hospital. Don’t go in this hospital.
