Mandy Phillips My daughter was admitted and stayed for 7 days. She has Functional Neurological Disorder and we received such better care here than anywhere else we have been, including Cleveland Clinic. The Neurology team was amazing and I explained things to my daughter in a way she could understand. They did not dismiss her symptoms as being psychological and treated her with so much respect. I would not hesitate to return if ever needed. The nursing staff was also amazing.

Jennifer Conklin Absolutely the best care for a Child that a mom could ask for. My daughter broke her femur riding an e-bike and although scary, they definitely made us feel like we were in the best place possible. We received the best care during our stay. We are grateful for Rady’s hospital. Jennifer C. & Ava A.

Joe Shultz ER is a giant ripoff. Unless a life or death situation, I recommend to wait for improvement, go to urgent care, or look into crossing border for help. Do anything to avoid this place unless you have incredible insurance or money isn’t concern in life. Oh, then they’ll solicit donations…. God bless America and these health care heroes

Joshua Marziale Garbage hospital. They charge for parking and intentionally cause long wait times to up those hours. They are inefficient in their in processing and have worthless nurses going around taking vitals. Completely worthless. Go find something better to do. Waited over 5 hours to be seen and there is no process for them to tell you how long you need to wait. They never know and continually contradicted themselves depending on who you asked or talked to, so I was more confused. Had to do xrays two times because they didnt do it right the first time and take their sweet time doing anything. Waited 5 hours in the waiting room and once you go to the back you wait longer to get anything done. So many departments they need to communicate with other departments, but cant even do that efficiently.

Krista Williamson Its extremely unfortunate that I am put in a position to write this review. The staff at Radys, all around, has been nothing short of extremely disappointing. My 17mo returned to the ER for the second time in less than 12 hours. The second visit, this morning, was a wash. The staff spread misinformation about vaccinations using words like "immune" and "impossible" which is a major red flag. Its my understanding that vaccines only alleviate potential symptoms, and the one in question only has an 80-90% efficacy. My child was not provided care and was sent home in the same condition, if not worse than when she arrived. I requested multiple times to speak with a nurse or doctor on her case and was met with silence. After calling 7 times, being hung up on, placed on extended holds repeatedly, I spoke with someone. This someone advised me to "speak with my husband" regarding my concerns with their teams lack of providing care. She then disregarded my request to document their refusal to run tests or any diagnostics. Her last words to me were, "I cant do anything for you. Im going to have to hang up because I have more patients to help." Then click. Previously, my experiences at Radys were decent. After this occurrence, I feel so blatantly disrespected and disregarded as a parent, its unacceptable especially when I know they will bill me for providing us with absolutely nothing, not even an answer as to why this is happening to her. I feel as though this is medical neglect and I am considering taking legal action.

carla jay I came here for a walk-in appointment, it was the only place that was open after 5pm. Which I love! This location is local to me and easy to find. I had a great experience from the time I arrived til I left. Mona, the front desk coordinator was awesome. Very friendly and kind. Michael, the tester, was laid back, informative, personal yet professional. He made me feel very comfortable throughout my visit. Jenni, I think she was the medical assistant or nurse, she was nice too. Dr. Burk was the bomb! Very kind, patient, prompt and reassuring. Ezra in phlebotomy, was also wonderful. I told him my veins are small and like to roll, so I can be a hard draw, but he got it on the first try! The office wasnt busy, it was clean throughout, I was able to be seen pretty much right away. I had a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend and come here again. Thank you Mona, Michael, Jenni, Dr. Burk and Ezra!!

Karina Gutierrez Front desk staff, medical assistant and the overall atmosphere was hostile. I had been here before a couple of times and loved it. I am okay with waiting but not okay with attitude. I wasnt sure if I had been early to my appointment or not and these women were very cold and aggressive since I stated I wasnt sure what my appointment time was. I am not feeling well and hearing I can reschedule over and over was rude. These women need to learn customer service and empathy.

Charles Edmund Nutrition Bottom of the barrel when it comes to health care, listening to patients needs, patient support, internal communication, and lgbtq+ needs. Next time, Ill just pay out of pocket to go to a different clinic that cares and listens.

Asha Kamnani Please do not trust your well being with FHCSD. The drs have poor knowledge and are disrespectful to patients. I was kept in a room and after 1 hour when dr did not show up, I found Dr Palma finishing her electronic charting. She had forgotten that she had a patient waiting for her. Then she shows up without reviewing my chart and after telling her my whole history, she says she is not familiar with my medical condition. Please save your health. I have tried them for several years.. they have never been good.

k gupta Very poor triage nurses and scheduling team. I have care established at the clinic, and I have been trying to get appointments since last one month, but every time they say they don’t have appointment with any provider for next 2 weeks and every time they try to send me to the urgent care. When I finally had the appointment scheduled for today, they cancelled last minute telling me that the provider is not available. Very poor customer service, and scheduling a simple appointment has been a nightmare.

Todd Burton I have nothing but praise about the staff of the UCSD-la Jolla primary care internal medicine group. In particular, I wish to single out Dr. Nicholas Daniels. His commitment to the health and well being of his patients goes far beyond my personal experience with the medical profession. His frankness and candor, but in a highly respectful way, has given me a new lease on life. I feel that he cares about myself and my family, rather then just as patients and clients . If you want a doctor who cares, be straight and reach the best path of treatment for you, then this is the Doctor for you. I wish I could rate more than five stars.

Jake Granger The worst! I went in for a routine yearly check up and the doctor ordered “standard” lab test. I end up with a $250 plus bill! After a hour on a three way phone call between my health insurance and UCSD, the insurance will not cover the lab work because it is not deemed necessary until I’m 40years old at least! I’m 30 years of age! Why are the doctors at UCSD ordering blood work so over the top for a routine check up! Now UCSD still wants me to pay for unnecessary lab work order! SKETCHY Shark practice here! Highly recommend going anywhere else, they were also rude on the phone! P.S. I have insurance through The aviation industry and is typically very good and covers above and beyond everything!

Heather Clemons I am a UCSD employee and Blue Cross was recently dropped from my insurance options forcing me to leave Scripps and join UCSD Health Systems. In the year that I have been a member I have been unable to secure an initial doctor visit appointment. I first waited 6 months for my initial visit with the doctor and then as luck would have it my son was sick that day and I had to miss the appointment. They told me there was nothing that they could do, that I would have to wait 6 months again to see the doctor and that, in fact, they are not taking any new patients but I am welcome to see a "family doctor" at another location instead. So still waiting....

sheila shmoozer Front staff insisted on canceling my appointment for being 7 minutes late. Meanwhile this same clinic has no problem keeping patients waiting for their appointments for extended periods of time. Clinic does not take the patient needs into account. Parking is a headache as well, allow yourself an additional 10 minutes for parking and elevator use during busy times.

Jade Id definitely would say its alright. I had gone here about 2 times for attempt and I would say its not that bad. Both times I stayed for about 24 hrs so not too long but those both times were horribly boring and though you were given books and coloring books not being able to move around and go out was terrible. Also considering my social anxiety having to ask for paper towels and small things all the time was a little scary for me. I did get free food which is nice. The first time was terrifying. I basically cried myself to sleep. Having all those people watch me was scary but I mean they did keep me safe so ig thats all that matters. I just wish people there would introduce themselves even if they switch shifts and I may not be able to see them again I think that would have made me more comfortable. Also I wish the rooms were not like in an office setting because idk it was just weird for me to wake up to rustling of paper and typing.

Sarah Green I have had my family member come to this facility on 2 separate occasions after having a major mental episode and not being safe to go home. It was supposed to be a 72 hour hold and they refused to keep them even for 24 hours. They dont take mental health seriously and try to be lazy with their work instead or truly helping the people in their care.

Joshua Michel Brown From my experience working with one of the nurses here was terrible. As a mental health professional she was rude, disrespectful, and culturally incompetent. Unfortunately there are not many option for some one experiencing sever mental illness to go to but if you can avoid this facility I would definitely recommend avoiding it.

Kristanne Richardson I was here not to long ago and it was TERRIBLE. You are confine to a room unless you are using the restroom, showers, or granted time outside (which rarely ever happens). Everything you do is written down you are given an assessment everyday until you change your answers to meet the requirement of not being a harm to yourself or others. You can socialize with the people that work there but thats only good for a day or so because the schedules change and the staff rotate around the building every 8 hours, so the chance of you getting to interact is slim to nun. The bathrooms are jail like and I had to request for a towel on several occasions because the floor was wet. You CANNOT wear shoes only socks or barefoot. My situation was a hard one but the only thing good about it was the 24/7 free food and water. When you first get there, there are a lot of pamphlets there talking about your rights. READ THEM! You may also not have visitors at this site which on the pamphlet says thats one of your rights. In my own opinion I dont see how this betters someone at all I am actually going to counseling to try and get back from this experience. Like I said before you are stuck in a room unless you can go outside and there are 3 gates around the outside facility which is very small, and the late one contains barbwire along the top. This is very jail like, I made my own suggestions on what could be made better and things that should be changed around the facility before I left. I was here on a 72 hour hold, and was forced to sign voluntary paperwork to make my stay longer until thy found somewhere for me to go.

CRY SOTO My appointment was at 1pm. I arrived at 12:47 as they asked me to be 10-15 minutes early. I sat in the office for exactly an hour with my 3 kids. I finally get up and ask whats going on and they tell me the doctor just got back to them via text that "Hes on his way in" but they dont know when he will be here. I ask what happened and both ladies couldnt even give me an answer. The doctor arrived 10 minutes later. Its just ridiculous that people forget we all have lives and common courtesy is not so common! Needless to say the doctor was nice and gave my son the medication he needed until his next doctors appointment. Though the front desk ladies had horrible office etiquette the doctor getting us in and out was the highlight of our visit. Front desk receptionist are the face of the company!!! Hire and fire until you find the right people who are gonna represent you well.

Evelyn Manye I had an accident Jan 10th and was taken to the ER by an ambulance with a neck brace, broken lips and bloodied face and a lot of bruises. This place is a nightmare and I believe they watch people die everyday for the pleasure. The Dr was nonchalant, the nurse couldnt be bothered. She ordered CT scans and xrays, took 3 hours for me to get any information from them. She finally came to tell me I have nothing broken, I asked the neck brace be taken off because of the discomfort and sitting in that for over 5 hours. Doctor said nurse will come take it off. That took another 2 hours for the nurse to show up. I asked her why I am being ignored for so long and registered my disappointment for the horrendous treatment. The nurse blatantly told me she didnt ask the medics to bring me to the hospital. She then yelled on the hallway she will call security on me. I was astonished to say the least. The doctor came in another 2 hours later to tell me she has discharged me. Meanwhile my broken lips and bloodied face had still not been attended to. Also during the wait in braces, the billing department was too busy getting insurance to bill while I was not receiving any treatment. I was released from this ER with my still bloodied face and broken lips without any care. Two weeks later, they sent a bill of almost $21,000 to my insurance for things and treatments I never received. Unbelievable! This place is horrible! Avoid it like a plaque if its in your power Drs Name: Jon Ludwig We need to name and shame horrendous healthcare workers, thanks to them, I currently have bumpy and scared lips

collena horne DO NOT have your baby delivered at this location. I had my purse stolen right after I delivered. How low can a staff member be to steal items from a patients when they are at their most vulnerable state. Staff and nurses was not helpful with the situation either. Neither was security. 11/23/2024 my purse was stolen from labor and delivery ! A floor that highly secured but yet my purse was stolen and they tried to use it at 7/11 crazy and sickening. Not to mention the nurses are very rude during your stay and it obvious communication is not key at this site. I work in the medical field and the lack of communication between nurses and staff is unbelievable. Do better

peter dolan Was treated properly and respectfully at the E.R. recently. They were efficient and swift. Dr. Cunningham did everthing thoroughly and handled my issue correctly. There were some misunderstandings about information, and they said I wasnt being honest, but the notes showed the discrepancy. Also, my discharge paperwork lists a ton of medications, non of which I take. I did need some B/P meds prescribed for short term, but I didnt get them. Dr. Cunningham and the whole staff was smart and professional.

I have tried two other networks in San Diego but Scripps is really something else. Every single time I go here, I am blown away by the amount of care and respect I get from the staffs and doctors. It’s unbelievable how fast they would communicate your test results every single time. They have been consistently amazing, responsive and caring so this review is the least I can do to thank every single person who works in the Scripps Network to make it as awesome as it is!

Debbie Anderson The Scripps Torrey Pines support staff went above and beyond assisting me today. I entered the main clinic today and could not locate dermatology until I consulted with the receptionist. She explained that dermatology was in another building and noted my appointment was in 5 minutes. The zoo was right across the street from the entrance to the Balboa Naval Station Hospital as it was known then I believe. Thats what it said in the basement where my cousin worked in the mail room while he was in the Navy and I was in the Marines.

Tatem Chase Honestly, after reading some reviews about the ER I was a little nervous to go in tonight. However, every staff member was kind to me and I was in and out in a reasonable time. The provider was knowledgeable and very transparent with me about medical advice/ treatment. I’m pretty thankful I decided to come and not sit with the pain.

Jabeliz Valdez Nursing staff were overall kind, helpful & attentive.. Doctors, however, were not. Doctors were extremely uneducated about my chronic illness & hid behind the scenes w/out reason or explanation as to why they were trying to administer medication that could potentially worsen my condition — keeping me out of the loop of what my results from testing & procedures were + having me sit in my room for hours w/out an update. Instead, they would sent corpsmen & nurses to administer medication + draw blood for labs they had no clue about (I know they had no clue because I would ask them and they would either say 1. they don’t know why, its just bc doctors ordered it or 2. they would explain the basic function w/out knowing the effects it could have on my condition & so I would have to sit there and explain to them why before declining). Doctors here should sit down and educate themselves for a minute on a patients condition even if they are unfamiliar with it. Having improper care = potential, unnecessary & preventable injuries + fatalities. I’m grateful to be well educated when it comes to my chronic illness, because I guarantee you if someone else with a chronic illness wasn’t — they would end up staying admitted for more days or even weeks having to recover from the mess that the doctors themselves created. Need basic care? Sure. Need proper, well-versed professional care? Do not recommend.

Then when I asked it back, they said no I saw security lighting their cigarette outside with it. Do not come here at all. When I went to go also use the bathroom. What kind of hospital forgets? They have a patient sitting out in the hall. They stripped my gurney and forgot all about me. Ill say it again. I will never come here ever. I will forever be going to another hospital who actually cares

Sharon Bullock Last time I was here at the ER I had a better experience. This time the doctor in charge wanted to tell me about her degrees. If she has these degrees then she should know every patient needs and medical issues are not the same. Also, the nurse could not draw blood correctly. This head doctor does not believe that anything that happens to one part of the body can affect another part of the body. She does not believe that problems within the body is connected to each other. Meaning a high TSH is not connected to a high A1C. The two can be connected in various ways, especially if have a condition like anemia or lupus. She seems to make judgments based on how I looked. She left out and has not returned it has been 35 minutes now. Still waiting on an update. So still here at almost three o’clock. The IV in my arm was causing an allergic reaction, I told the doctor and the nurse at 2:14pm it’s now 2:58 pm. She has now come to take the IV when I had already taken it out most of the way. The nurse then tells me that they are releasing me within anyone talking to me. This is pure racism at its finest here at UCSD Hillcrest. No one seems to be concerned about my diabetes, loss of appetite, fatigue, stiffness in both shoulders. Is this really good the standard of medical treatment here at UCSD. Attached is a picture of of IV before and after. The after picture is me removing the tape so my skin can breathe. Is this how they treat there long term patients or just black women in general? I am going to share this in as many place I can. I am sick of being discriminated against by same of the staff at UCSD ER in Hillcrest, San Diego, CA. I have had enough. Not every black person is violent or mean they just want to be treated like everyone else. They say that this is the best hospital in San Diego but they don’t mention that the hospital also has racial issues when it comes to black women. I was debating on whether or not to post pictures of my arm after I left the hospital. I decided to post them to give you a glimpse of what my arm looked like after I got home.

Joseph-Blue Sun I say this from the most unbiased pov really, but this hospital really just depleted my faith in the healthcare system. The nurses here, don’t care about their patients or their kin. It truly turns my stomach the way my patient was treated. Being literally neglected, visitors/family being mistreated, not doing their job, etc. It is utterly disgusting. Not all nurses were bad, there was an amazing nurse in the CCU named Alyson. As for the rest of staff, nurse after nurse, doctor after doctor, whether it was the neglect, constant attitudes, or lazy behavior the 20+ caretakers i’ve came across in my two weeks being here have been truly horrifying and gut wrenching. I am not over exaggerating the way my patient was/is treated is appalling. It makes me scared for when I need to be admitted into the hospital. After speaking to the supervising nurse about all these issues, he literally said nothing, like not gibberish, nothing… like 0 words. Shame on UCSD Health. Truly.

After some wait I went in to the room and there was a nurse named Ashley (forgot her last name) who was wearing a mask with very bad altitude, she was typing behind the laptop while asking me questions. One of the questions wasnt clear to me because she was wearing a mask so I asked her to repeat and she just yelled at me with that question with very bad altitude. Ive never seen a nurse that unprofessional. Its not because she tried to speak up its like she didnt want me as a patient. I tried to waited for a survey to make the clinic aware of such a bad apple in it but the survey didnt have this kind of question.

Don Baldwin I hurt my knee a few years ago, and tried for several years to get an MRI done, and they refused to do it. I finally had to change insurance companies and switch medical facilities (to Palomar Hospital). They did the MRI immediately, discovered a tear in the meniscus, and did arthroscopic surgery to correct it. Its only been a few weeks since the surgery, but already my knee is better than it was before the surgery. I feel like the doctors at Scripps Clinic are only pretend doctors. They go through the motions of trying to diagnose issues, but then throw up their hands and say "we just dont know" and dont do anything beyond that. This is not just with my knee, but with several other issues as well.

John S Anthem abruptly and recently dropped Scripps as a care provider as they couldn’t come to terms, Scripps wanted increase costs, too high apparently. Just came down w Covid, requested script for Paxlovid from primary care at Scripps because haven’t had time to switch to a new (Anthem Scripps divorce happened in January) Had pax script almost same time last year but didn’t want to do telehealth because insurance wont cover it now and it’s a 5 minute conversation for likely several hundred dollars. Long story short primary said no, wanted telehealth or Scripps Express visit before issuing. Scripps, obviously for monetary reasons and in all fairness Anthem likely has culpability, has otherwise ditched the well being of their former patients. So it doesn’t surprise me as a result that primary care providers aren’t going to do us any favors despite the chaos having zero empathy to simply execute a mundane script. It’s not like it’s a controlled substance or they don’t have access to current medications (none). There was a time when providers were a bit more human and understood that exceptions were apart of provider care. No longer, not even under the slightest duress. What about out of network care? Yeah Scripps has also stated they won’t file OON claims, pretty much a step off to former patients let alone we’d still have to meet OON deductible levels first. Edit: Cleaned up for slang and post heat of moment rationale.

Tiffany C Avoid BRETT MOORE at all costs. I was treated horribly in one of my recent dermatology visits and he was very rude. Didn’t tell me anything that was going on and used a bunch of equipment that my insurance doesn’t cover. The sad thing about these complaints is that these doctors (actually hes not even a real doctor so I don’t know why he is at scripps) have no real consequences. Save yourself the hassle and go see a real doctor because this guy is not it and does not have the proper knowledge to do his real job

JH Nonomura Today I’m in Scripps Clinic Infusion Center on the second floor. The facilities and staff are considerate, well organized and pleasantly professional. My Infusionist is Monella, an RN. Monella and her colleagues are a delight. Monella is the best kind of professional you could ever meet because she made sure that I was comfortable, and she gently and verbally prepared me for each step of the process including the removal of the needle at the end. She and the other staff were clearly and impressively focused yet happily chatty; yet in the knowledge that they were each highly trained and credentialed, and prepared for eventualities well beyond the routine. Yes, I felt comfortable; but I recognized professionalism and I knew all was well. (In turn at subsequent visits Cheryl, Wendy and Kristin each approached the same process remarkably differently and competently. They’re all wonderful Professionals.)

My personal primary care, Lori Lapina was beyond amazing! I truly feel that she saved my life. I appreciated that she truly listened to me, Heard what I have to say and directed me to get the help that I needed. I’m very grateful that I have access to this community of healthcare professionals.

Anna Phaimany I have experienced ongoing challenges with communication and professionalism at the North Park Center. The medical assistants often appear impatient and engage in arguments with parents over the phone, which undermines respect and creates unnecessary conflict within the referral process. Unfortunately, I have had particularly negative interactions with individuals such as Daisy and Kiara (one of them), where I felt that my concerns were not being properly heard. The role of a medical assistant is to listen and facilitate care, yet these interactions suggest a lack of attentiveness and professionalism. This small office seems to operate with noticeable bias, which negatively impacts families who rely on these services. It is disappointing to encounter this level of disregard in a setting that should prioritize support and understanding. I hope these concerns can be addressed to improve communication and patient experience. Do not bother reaching out to Rachel the center director she is only skilled at business nothing further

Joanna Jade I usually go for Family health center for care for my pregnancy since Im 31 weeks pregnant now but not usually on this location. I went here today for an ultrasound and non stress test, but more importantly is to talk to a doctor about my condition, since I was just diagnosed with GD. They didn’t really care about their patients and the doctor wasn’t really being attentive and helpful, she looks like she’s in a rush. I wanted help for my early disability also a letter for my absences for my work since my work is strict she just told us to just tell it to the case manager in a rushing voice. Worst is the case manager was more rude, giving us an attitude and didn’t really helped us, didn’t helped us with the paperworks and letters we needed as proof for my work. I will avoid this place as much as possible if you needed care, go to a different location. I went out of this place confused and really felt like I wasn’t heard as a patient voicing out my concerns.

Sara Silberstang Great local place to take my son. We see Dr. Khawla Hanna Suleiman and she is incredibly smart and on top of it. Better than the doctor we used to see at Scripps. There’s a lot of bad reviews here and they aren’t really accurate and give you a bad impression. If you don’t arrive on time and your doctor won’t see you, that seems like your own problem.

Need a biopsy and hysterectomy yet can get anything scheduled or answered. 2nd try doc was great but can’t get back into her . The scheduling is the worst. Office doesn’t care. Just fronting for call back. No one cares you’re in pain here

Karrie Falkner Dr. Houghton is the best Dr. I ever had. I have had many insurance changes over the years because my Husbad works for contractors and insurance changes when contracts change. But when Dr. Houghton is in my plan, I am there. I had to have Kaiser for a few years, and dreadfully missed the hospitable service I received from his office. Just signed back up with him as my primary care Dr.

Ellen D Dr. Houghton is a straight to the point, easy to talk to doctor, who will help you on your medical journey. All his referrals were fabulous. His office staff are so kind, so helpful and very efficient. The office vibe is one where you really feel everyone cares for you. Great office, super staff.

Dana Elken Terrell Dr. Houghton gave me necessary advice and prescriptions for my overseas trip. Very few offer this service so I appreciate him! It is not easy to reach the office, however, because you cant leave a voicemail, and have to reach them when they are not busy with other patients. This is frustrating.

brandon Watson I can’t express this enough, WORST front office I have ever dealt with in any capacity. Not only did they lose my X-ray results multiple times forcing me to call imaging health and have them resend, but every time they did find them the doctor had “just left for the day so check in next week.” I’d give it 0 stars but the doctor was at least nice during my single visit.

Travis Pluss Waste of time. The STD testing may be free, but my time is valuable too. Takes up to 2 hour wait just to receive the testing kit so that I can take my own test just to give to the lab. My first test here also had an IT glitch for the results and had to get a verbal with no fix to the proof of test result. 2 stars because at least the staff are super nice.

Jesse W Access to free testing and HIV care is fantastic kudos to AHF for providing services to low income peoples. But free doesn’t mean good. If you can afford to seek testing elsewhere I would say go elsewhere. No easy way to make an appointment. Without an appointment you’ll wait hours! And you’ll see a lot of employees (techs and pharmacists) doing a lot of nothing. Staff is usual rude. 1 star in general, 2 for being there for low income people (or Down Low folks).

Matty Muniz After losing my insurance I decided to come here. I’ve been here once before which was fine but after the second time, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. No hard feelings I just feel like I can’t get the proper care I need from here. The good is the staff is friendly but as for the bad…..there just seems to me a lack of communication between the staff and the pharmacy. 1.) after speaking to someone about getting on prep for free (since I didn’t have insurance) I was told I was gonna get a normal capsule 30 day refill since they “ran out” of the samples to hold me up for about a month till my meeting to get approved for free prep. I was told by the pharmacy that if I didn’t have insurance I was gonna have to pay full price out of pocket despite being told this was the alternative since they were out of the samples. 2.) during the same time, I was called back in to receive treatment for a health issue and was told by the gentlemen who talked to me that I needed a shot, and medication which I was to get at the pharmacy. I got the shot but when I went to the pharmacy (remind you it’s literally in the same building) they didn’t receive the order for the prescription. I waited 45 min for them to figure out what was going on but I had to leave and told them I would be back tomorrow to pick it up. Came back the next day and they told me the medication was denied by the same guy who told me I needed to pick it up at the pharmacy (I believe his name is long). The pharmacy told me I needed to go back and talk to the front desk which all they told me was “I only see you got the shot but there was nothing for prescription”. I had enough being pulled in different directions so I left. Hopefully the shot is enough to do the trick I guess. Thankfully I just got insurance again and I’ll be able to see my dr next month. Again, the staff is friendly but because of the lack of communication, I just feel like it’s not right place for me.

Kimberly Masiello Scripps lab Hillcrest messed up my arm pretty seriously during a routine blood draw. I had to go to urgent care due to a possible blood clot. It was incredibly painful, and I couldnt sleep for a week in addition to the large amount of bruising. I incurred copays due to all of this. I wrote to Scripps asking them to withdraw the copays, and I received a letter saying that, "the charges are appropriate for the care and treatment provided." No kidding they are, but I would not have incurred these charges had my blood draw not gone so poorly. The lab called twice to apologize, and I appreciate that. But I should not have incurred these extra medical expenses due to no fault of my own. It was incredibly painful and continues to be. I will be writing reviews across all platforms about how poorly Scripps handled this.

Emily Ruiz SCAM SCAM SCAM. Read all the reviews prior to going. Unfortunately I did not. I called to schedule an appointment for a physical in April. The earliest appointment was in July. When I arrived I told the receptionist I am just here for a physical nothing more. I repeated it because I was just there for work as in incentive, so I wanted to make it clear I couldnt afford to pay anything more than a physical. I was then charged $182 (I think for being a new patient) AND then $253 for a Office Visit. A physical is covered under my insurance. I made it very clear I was just there for a physical.

Estephania HC I told the guy I have cancer and will start chemo therefore I need blood lab work done. I have already gone through double mastectomy and my good vein is scarred up from constant procedures. Guy was dismissive about it while he made a great show of setting up all the bandages, needles, etc. He poked my forearm and caused me a lot of pain and then, didnt even draw any blood and had to call someone else, without an apology. His was arrogant, dismissive, apathetic and most of all, incompetent. My bruise lasted over a month and he caused me unnecessary pain. The other guy drew my blood through my scarred tissue without any problems which is why I give 2 stars. There is no reason for any patients to get poked twice.

The office was accessible, very well run, and had the nicest staff I’ve encountered. The app/online portal are among my favorite parts too. Extremely easy to use and helpful for every aspect of the appointment. So stoked to have found great care in the area! (I promise I was not paid to write this. Just happy!)

Luis Carmona On April 8th at 8:30 am, I visited the Elm Street Family Health Center to submit some important medical forms that needed to be completed by my psychiatrist. I had a future scheduled appointment, but upon arrival, I was told that I needed another appointment. This turned out to be unnecessary, as my psychiatrist later informed me that I could have just dropped off the forms. Normally, I go to the Hillcrest Family Health Center to see my Primary Care Doctor and have never faced such issues when submitting documents there.

Alyssa This location violated a couple of laws regarding service animals, humiliated me and canceled my appointment. I was seen at the Logan heights location with my service animal with no issue just last month (for a painful procedure, mind you). However when I came here they asked if I had a disability... Ok fine. But then they asked what my condition was... Which is not allowed by law. However I answered, they did not seem to find my condition a disability even though the federal government considers my condition to be a disability. They asked if my dog had been trained for a specific task.... And in the past 8 years he has been trained for many tasks to aid me with the symptoms I face in my day to day life. They kept asking for his "License" which was vague and I did not understand as there is no "license" for a service animal. I had already submitted what paperwork I had with Logan heights so I didnt understand why that didnt transfer to another FHC location. At this point I was extremely upset as this appointment was planned a month ago and Ive been dealing with potentially life threatening issues that arent emergency room worthy but need to be addressed by a primary by submitting referrals, etc. and I was being told to have someone watch my dog. That is not possible and should not be expected of me. The entire situation was absolutely not handled at all the way it should be handled. I have been in the hospital for extended stays over a dozen times in the past two years for my disability... That FHC felt they could decide wasnt valid for some reason. The manager never even came out to properly explain what documentation they were requesting. The meek little man at the desk just kept repeating what he was told by his manager and neither him or I knew what license exactly was being demanded. Absolutely unbelievable.

The doctors a particular doctor Kelly is a terrible doctor my mother is going here and they have a refilled her medicine. They dont listen to you youre the patient they do what they want to do and then complain when your health is not the way they think it should be. They have one girl that was going to this particular doctor she had diabetes she told her that she didnt need a diabetes test machine this woman is unbelievable if you do decide to go to this doctors office I advise you not to pick Dr Kelly thats my advice to anyone coming to this place the service at the front desk has gotten better but they still need work if this woman does not refill my mothers prescription I will be reporting her.

After xrays and a 400 dollar copay for nothing, they broke hipaa protocol by speaking about diagnosis and meds in front of the waiting room. What a great hospital, not!!! Ashley Arnold If you can go anywhere else for care, do. Avoid this urgent care at all cost. Extremely rude receptionists and poor training when it comes to insurance handling. Was sent to this facility from sharp reece as my group had changed, no problem. Was greeted with a snarl and awful attitude by the older receptionist with brown short hair. Explained why I am here, and was told immediately “well your card says this so we can’t see you here”. Confused I asked if it was possible to call the hospital I was just at to see where the disconnect was. She rolled her eyes, huffed and said “and what do you want me to talk about” Turns out, the other gal just didn’t read the insurance card correctly and that they did take my insurance. Decided to go elsewhere. If that is the type of treatment the front desk gives, I don’t want to find what it’s like from the doctors. Do better. People go to your facility because they are seeking help.

chloe gulick While the girls at the front desk were warm and friendly, my encounter with the male doctor this morning was very uncomfortable and upsetting. I came in after two days of fever, chills, and severe body pain, hoping for clarity/relief. After explaining my symptoms, the doctor told me I had the flu. When I responded with, “Oh, you really think so?” he replied very matter-of-factly that I did, seeming annoyed that I questioned him. I asked if he could flu test me just to be sure, but he insisted multiple times there was no need for a test. His dismissive tone made me feel like I had to argue with him just to get the care I was seeking. After reluctantly agreeing to check for a test, he finally sent a nurse to do a flu and COVID test. When he returned with the results, which were negative, he seemed even more irritated. He told me I had a virus, that the treatment would be the same as for the flu, and that I just needed to go home and rest. I asked if there was anything else that could be done to help with my pain, explaining that I was struggling to rest and had come here out of desperation. His demeanor became angrier, and I felt dismissed and unheard. When I started to tear up from frustration he begrudgingly said they’d give me something for the pain. A nurse brought in a shot, but by then I no longer trusted the doctor and told her I didn’t want it. The doctor then slammed the curtains open and stared at us angrily for several seconds before looking at me and saying “You don’t want the shot? Why don’t you want the shot?” His aggressive attitude made me very uncomfortable, and I just asked to be discharged.

Michelle Geribo This is the second time in 6 months we have gone here (at 5:30) which is still during business hours by the way- and we have been turned away. Don’t advertise your business hours if you won’t take patients during that time. No one even answered the phone when I called (before posted closing time). This is a major inconvenience for those of us who work normal business hours. We don’t want to come to urgent care. We have to. You should fix your business hours so people can plan accordingly and not come here if you won’t take patients.

Fox Maxy I went in Jan 27 2025 for chest and abdominal pain. I was there from 8pm to 2am. I was seen by Dr. Siyuan Wang at 1am, he angrily told me that I should not have come to the ER because, in his words, the ER is unable to diagnose patients. He was condescending when telling me that he did not know where my pain is coming from, but asked me if I knew what ibuprofen is. He racially profiled me. He was skeptical about my pain and he insinuated that I was there for false reasons. Dr. Siyuan Wangs racism and dismissive behavior is dangerous. If you are black or brown, I would not trust Dr. Siyuan Wangs discernment or treatment.

Brady kaye DO NOT COME HERE. DO NOT. I’ve had a lexapro prescription for 4+ years and just moved to San Diego from Murrieta. I currently don’t have primary care and work 6 days a week so it’s been tough to find time to schedule with one who accepts my insurance. All I needed was a refill (any other urgent care does it when I need it, it’s an SSRI, not an opiate or amphetamine or anything crazy.) they deny me and tell me to figure it out with primary care. LITERALLY. do not waste your time.

Raelynn Davis If it wasn’t for my insurance I would have not gone to this UC based off the reviews. It was a little tricky finding the bldg, you wouldn’t think an UC would be located around the corner in the far back on the 3rd floor. I guess I’m use to Sharp. Check in at 9:24am (They opened at 9am) process was fairly easy. Had lots of paperwork since it was my first visit. I was called back quickly but the wait time inside the room was 1hr and 15min!!!! This was the absolute longest time I’ve ever had to wait especially since I have severe asthma and was having difficulty breathing. I almost walked out and went to ER. However the Nurse Practitioner Sarah Evans who helped me was literally the best!!! She was very knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding and actually listened to what was going on. She quickly ordered treatment and made sure I had the appropriate medicine to take until I followed up with my primary doctor. I can’t thank Sarah Evans enough for being so attentive to my needs. I wish she could be my primary doctor because that’s how great she was! I finally checked out around 12:30pm(3 hr visit) but honestly if it wasn’t for NP Sarah Evans I would never go back to this UC and this review wouldn’t be so nice.
