Augusto Peraza I am very disappointed with my recent experience at this physician’s office. My wife and I scheduled physicals to get routine blood work done, and we were seen together in the same appointment. The only difference was that I mentioned my history of high cholesterol, which I’ve managed through exercise after stopping medication three years ago. Despite this, I was issued a single lipid test, while my wife received the standard three-part lipid test typically included in a physical. To make matters worse, I was charged $115 for the office visit and had to pay out of pocket for the blood work, while my wife incurred no costs. Essentially, I received less care for a higher price. Furthermore, I called the office to inquire about this bill, and unfortunately, they offered no help or assistance. It has been a month, and the manager still has not returned my call. I would advise future patients to be cautious when mentioning any past medical history during a physical at this office, as it may result in unnecessary costs. Additionally, based on my experience, it may be more cost-effective to visit an urgent care facility for minor concerns, especially for those with PPO insurance, as my last urgent care visit only cost $65.

Lynnann AKA Grandma Made an appointment with Dr. Fishbein a month ago. Was told they had to verify my insurance before an appointment could be made, it was checked/approved, appointment put on books. Now less than 24 hours from appointment Im told its being cancelled because my insurance is not okay. Nothing had changed on my end. So I responsibly do everything as directed and now have to look for a new doctor and wait weeks - without meds - to get an appointment. This doctors staff is inefficient, unprofessional and cannot be depended on for basic administrative tasks. As a retired Medical Assistant, their complete lack of accountability, zero effort to make things right or voice any concern for their mistake was shockingly poor customer service. Beware. If they are making mistakes at the most basic administrative levels they are assuredly making far worse with prescriptions, electronic medical record maintenance and billing!

I shared my feedback and refunded me the visit on which I appreciated but it was not easy coming back for a while after that. Nova OuYang I am absolutely outraged and appalled by the service provided by the front desk at this clinic. My eldest son is currently in the process of legally changing his last name—a complicated and lengthy legal procedure that takes anywhere from 6 to 12 months, if not longer. Before moving to this city, we were always treated with understanding and respect regarding our familys situation, whether it was in Hawaii, Texas, or even at my sons school. However, the experience we had with the front desk at this clinic was nothing short of shocking and infuriating. The front desk staff had the audacity to express "curiosity" about why my husband and son have different last names, and proceeded to ask a barrage of irrelevant and deeply offensive personal questions: "Why is the last name different? Is he a stepson? Is he adopted? Is he not your biological child?" These questions were shamelessly asked over the phone on speaker, with my son right next to us. My husband made it clear that my sons biological father had passed away due to kidney failure, and that we are in the process of changing his last name, and we did not want to discuss this matter further. Yet, the front desk staff, in an appalling display of insensitivity and unprofessionalism, admitted that she was "just curious"! What kind of professional behavior is this? The front desk has no business treating a patient’s personal life as fodder for their own curiosity and gossip. To make matters worse, the front desk called us back later to inform us that she had discussed our private family matters with her "supervisor" or colleagues and suggested that I sign some kind of consent form. This is not just a blatant violation of our privacy; it’s an outrageous breach of patient confidentiality and basic human decency! We had already clarified that our insurance coverage was in order, yet she felt compelled to spread our personal information around like it was some kind of gossip to be shared. As a mother, I am furious and deeply hurt by the front desk’s behavior. Simply because my son’s last name currently differs from the rest of the family, the front desk saw fit to treat us with such blatant discrimination and disrespect, to the point of invading our privacy. I seriously question whether the staff here have any sense of professional ethics or basic humanity! This kind of ignorance and rudeness is absolutely unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.

Shea Feehan I went to see Dr. Lee for an annual physical, which is 100% covered under my health insurance. I also needed to establish a primary care physician. Dr. Lee did the bare minimum. He did not check my breathing/heart rate, he didnt take a urine sample, he didnt check for hernias. He actually had no physical contact with me, for an annual physical, which is ironic. His office then sends me a bill for $250 because I am a "new patient" and "the annual physical is not covered under my health insurance because I am a new patient" which is not true. I confirmed with my insurance company that this should be 100% covered but the doctors office didnt bill it correctly. Ive requested multiple times for the change to be made. They refuse to make the change, they hang up on me, theyve called me Ms. in emails which is actually all you need to know about how well they do their job - because they have me medical records and they know Im a male. Needless to say, will not be returning.

They keep you so well informed leading up to the surgery, they have someone by your side thought preparing to enter surgery, during surgery, and the post-op portion. All were absolutely amazing! I have already, and will continue to, recommend Hoag for all medical issues.

3 in 2 Art I highly recommend Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Irvine. From the outset, issues with my knee were addressed professionally and in terms that I could understand. When I finally had my knee replacement surgery, everyone from the doctor, nurses, staff and supplemental personnel were thorough, helpful and kind. Even in the weeks following the surgery, the doctor or someone from his office would give me a call to check up on me until the date of my follow-up appointment. When finding out that you may have to have surgery, things can be overwhelming. Hoag helped to ease my fears. What a blessing that such an institute still exists.

From the very first moment in pre-op with Brina and Becky, to the anesthesiologist, to checkout with Tay (PT) and Charlene, my case manager. Every detail for a successful recovery was clearly explained. Dr. Barnett is quite simply the best surgeon I could have asked for. His attention to detail, and to me, the patient, were far and above the most reassuring aspects of this experience. For that, and my new hip, I am forever grateful.

(My mom is a lung transplant recipient so as her caregiver, I have seen hundreds of doctors, specialists, nurses, etc and I can spot a diamond in the rough very fast.) Dr Singh’s bedside manner is wonderful. She’s a great listener, very knowledgeable, detail oriented, and she radiates positive energy. I would recommend her to anyone in need of an OBGYN in OC. But after a couple of months, I started to get more comfortable and it was like she’s been my doctor for years. The drive is worth it. I also saw the imaging department and they too are extremely supportive and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this facility!

Pat Ellis All my doctors are excellent. The parking and accessibility are horrible. Wheelchair assistance does not exist. I have to hire a person to drop me off, park, come back to push me to dr office. there is now way for me to drive and park by myself. I really would appreciate a response from a person who has authority and I would like more than "sorry."

Elaine Lang I have had many appointments at The Joe C. Wen and Family Center for Advanced Care of UCI, and have had excellent, efficient and friendly care. Beside the medical benefit of expert doctors, the facility is beautiful, pleasant to be at, and easy to park or to be dropped off. Even if there is a short wait for my appointment, it is a relaxing time, light, airy with beautiful art work. It makes my medical appointment a better and easier experience.

Since she is widely known for her exceptional skills, her schedule was always fully booked, which meant I had to travel between Irvine and Laguna. Despite that minor inconvenience, I was very satisfied with the overall experience.

Erin R Dr. O’Toole is hands-down, no questions asked, the greatest medical care practitioner I’ve ever worked with. I have never felt so prioritized and cared for; she goes above and beyond to look after my wellness. I’ve never left a visit with any questions unanswered, and she’s never made any of those questions feel silly or small. I run on the higher side of anxiety and Dr. O’Toole has found a way to ease every concern and be present for me throughout my entire pregnancy. I am so proud of the baby she helped me build, and wouldn’t have been able to get through this process/an unplanned c-section without her support. Thank you, Dr. O’Toole!

John Lee While I’m sure they have exceptional doctors, the front desk service leaves much to be desired. I called to make an appointment for my daughter, and the person on the other end of the line sounded disinterested, almost as if she didn’t want to be there. I understand it was Friday afternoon at 3 PM, right before the Thanksgiving holiday, but I still believe customers should be treated with more professionalism and courtesy.

Karin Bassford Fantastic staff! We had stopped coming here in the past because the nurse who was always here was horribly mean and had no tact or bedside manner. The staff her now that she is gone is absolutely fantastic! We are so glad we can come back here and feel taken care of. This place is amazing. Always such a pleasant and quick experience.

Keely Kline The front desk person who checked me in was great and super friendly. The wait time was great, less than 15 minutes. That being said, the person who took my vitals and tested me was very unprofessional and negligent. When writing my symptoms down she put a few and then told me she didn’t need anymore. When taking my blood pressure she went to use the blue cuff and I notified her that doctors typically use the red one since the blue is too small. She said it is fine and then put the blue cuff around my elbow to take my blood pressure. Once the doctor arrived I asked if this reading provides an accurate reading and she said no. I requested it be redone due to having high blood pressure and was taking decongestants. When she came back she turned the screen away from me and when it was done she just stared and did not tell me the reading. My husband ended up needing to tell me. Also I feel that she did not do a good swab for strep throat because it came back negative and once I got it redone at the ER the next day it came back positive. Also the nurse at the ER said that a good swab would make you gag which did not happen at urgent care. I notified the facility of my complaint over a week ago and have not heard anything from them.

Talal Malki Excellent and professional staff. I didnt have an appointment. I just walked in around 8:10 am Saturday morning because I was feeling sick., they took me at and I only had to wait like five minutes before they started taking my vitals. They tested me immediately for covid and flu. A few minutes later, the doctor saw me, talk to me. And, ask me a few questions. Then he informed me of my test results and gave me the proper medications. I had to pay a reasonable copay at the beginning of the visit because I have magical insurance, then I left to go to the pharmacy and get my medication. Im very happy with Hoag urgent care and recommend it to everybody.
