Karen Mason Always a 5 star experience going to appointment with Dr. Jacob Johnson. He knows his medical stuff, is up on the latest, is engaging with patients and is thoughtful in answering my questions (no matter how crazy). And his staff holds up the same bar of quality, engagement and caring. I feel like I know all of them, and am in really good hands. We just need more Doctors like Dr. Johnson coming through medical school, but there are too few schools and we need to prioritize access to such education. Thanks for asking -Karen

Even though I live in San Mateo county very far from his San Francisco office, I still insist on seeing him no matter what. For me he is number ONE no replacement. Highly recommend him for those people who hope to solve the problems right on the spot.

Joan Benjamin Marilyn, I want to thank you very, very much for others calling you for info--regarding some friends and like Lavell Carradine who takes me there when I have an appointment. Others who say I dont have the ability to take care of myself and again I thank you for writing that letter. It was criticized by Yelina Trubin, who is my dentist, that enough tests were done. I immediately told her they were done. I will look for a new dentist after all my years with her. They all want to take charge of me. Lavell has called you for some advice about some medicine I am taken, etc. and people call you and waste your time. You and I have a long history together and I treasure your thoughtfulness. Until we meet again, stay well and enjoy being with the large family you have. Sending love and "gentle" hugs, Joan

Jo Murray Dr Callander did knee replacement surgery for me a year ago. I could not be happier with the results! I can walk, hike and play with my grandkids without pain. I was thoroughly prepared ahead of my surgery regarding each step of the process. I highly recommend Cal Ortho! The entire staff is professional, courteous and kind. Their response through my chart were quick and efficient, and phone calls were returned promptly.

Mike N Dr. Callander was my (49M) surgeon for left-side BHR hip resurfacing surgery back in August 2024. He and his team did an outstanding job, They did the surgery in the morning and I was back on my feet and walking (with crutches) by the early afternoon. Their anesthesia team was great, I was out cold for the procedure. I had no complications, and was walking without a cane after about 2.5 weeks. 5 months later and I am able to walk, bike, and even run without any pain. I highly recommend him and the Presidio Surgery Center if you need top notch care for your hip. His PA Johnna Walker also provided excellent post-op care for me.

Lana Potels Doctor Peter Callendar is the best surgeon ever! I know him from 2011, when he did for me hip replacement surgery, then in 2014 other hip replacement surgery. Recently, in 2025, doctor helped me to cure excruciating pain in knee - took him 15 min to diagnose the problem and to help with couple of procedures, no surgery needed. While two other orthopedic surgeons I’ve seen before him suggested knee replacement surgery. I can walk again!

Kayla Lusk Dr Turek and his team quite literally changed our family’s life! After over 2 years of struggling with secondary infertility, and seeing multiple well known fertility clinics, we finally got a referral to see Dr Turek. After telehealth consultation, an in person appointment was scheduled, and the physical exam quickly revealed a significant problem that was likely the source of our fertility issues. Surgery was scheduled, and within 6 months of surgery we were finally able to conceive after years and years of other failed treatments. Dr Turek and his team are phenomenal and took amazing care of my family. My only regret is not advocating for a referral years sooner. As I write this, I am holding my baby boy in my arms, something I never thought would be possible!! A million thank yous to Turek and the team!!

Thank you, Dr. Paul, from the bottom of my heart. The entire team at the Turek Clinic is wonderful as well—they follow up with every detail and make you feel genuinely welcome

Noah B. Simons, MD, FAAP

Address: 3259 Pierce St, San Francisco, CA 94123

Images reviews: Noah B. Simons, MD, FAAP

(29) Reviews Noah B. Simons, MD, FAAP:

Ankit Agarwal Dr. Simons is excellent! We started with him when our son was a newborn. He is very responsive (both in person and via emails when we have questions as first time parents) and is generally very casual (but still attentive/detail-oriented) in his evaluations and his visits. I am a physician and value high-quality care - and Dr. Simons is definitely that! While not key to making a choice in physician, his medical office is also quite nice and scheduling/getting through to staff is relatively easy compared to many other offices. I have recommended him to friends and family and will continue to do so. Thank you Dr. Simons and staff!
5 /5
Gnome Chomsky Saw in another review that the adjective ‘excellent’ was used a few times… but that’s a complete understatement. Noah is the type of medical professional that all others should aspire emulate. His candor with adults, the playful nature with the kids, even his sense of humor is super on point. Add in the fact that his office is full of toys, fish tanks, free balloons, electric train sets…gum-ball style toy dispensing machines… Whatever a young mind would dream of or be put at ease by… it exists here to convince your kid that going to the doc is and will be fun! I can’t recommend this pediatrician enough. Cheers and keep on being super awesome my dude.
5 /5
Aaron We bring all 3 of our kids to Dr Simons and have since our oldest was born (5 years already). He is patient and kind with both kids and parents. He is moderate in his approach and consults with us on what we think is right, factored in as part of his recommendations. His office staff is buttoned up and his backfill Dr Klein is just as outstanding. Kids love it there too- aquariums, train, balloons for after the visit. Lovely people, lovely office, great care. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Thank you Dr Simons for being our partner on this journey raising as happy and healthy kids as humanly possible!
5 /5
Gorkem Eskici Our experience with Dr. Simon was very disappointing. He offered minimal information during our visits, necessitating repeated requests for essential guidance. When seeking advice on critical matters like feeding and sleep training, Dr. Simon provided meaningless, dismissive answers, insisting it was our judgment to make. Moreover, we struggled to receive timely responses to our questions on critical matters via email. Despite positive reviews, selecting Dr. Simon was a mistake for us. I would recommend other parents to find a pediatrician who is genuinely engaged in guiding them through parenthood. Dr. Simons "checked out" attitude makes him an undesirable choice for those seeking quality pediatric care.
1 /5
Alice Tseng Curtis Dr. Noah Simons has been our children’s pediatrician over the past 7 years, since their birth. He is thoughtful and attentive and genuinely cares about our children’s well-being. Dr. Simons listens to our concerns and patiently answers our questions, making us feel heard and understood. He consistently goes above and beyond, whether its responding to emails/calls, staying late when we’re running behind, or fitting us in for urgent visits. As a working mom, his dedication greatly reduces my anxiety, worry and provides reassurance about our children’s health. Our kids feel comfortable and at ease with Dr. Simons because he takes the time to explain what he’s checking and why it’s important, making their visits stress-free. They never fear going to see him. The office staff are equally amazing—kind, courteous, and incredibly patient. The office itself is a child’s delight, with thoughtful decorations including an elevated moving train, aquariums, and huge animal figurines that our children adore. Choosing Dr. Simons as our pediatrician has been one of the best decisions - I highly recommend him.

Boykoff Alla MD

Address: 2299 Post St STE 303, San Francisco, CA 94115

(11) Reviews Boykoff Alla MD:

Katya Pronichenko I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Boycoff because I was feeling very unwell and needed care. I appreciated that the office was able to accommodate me on short notice, but unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Boycoff was disappointing. During the visit, she dismissed my questions and requests, making comments such as, «У меня нет времени на вас. Вы знаете, сколько у меня пациентов?» (“I don’t have time for you. Do you know how many patients I have?”) and «Почему вы просто не пошли в urgent care? Если бы я знала, я бы даже не назначила вам встречу.» (“Why didn’t you just go to urgent care? If I had known, I wouldn’t have even scheduled you.”) When I asked to call my mom so she could ask a few clarifying questions, the doctor declined, stating, «Нет. Я уже сказала, у меня нет на вас времени.» (“No. I already said, I don’t have time for you.”) During my visit, I asked Dr. Boycoff if I had COVID or could be tested, she said, “I won’t test you. Everyone knows that you go to the store and do home tests for COVID.” She then proceeded to tell me that she believed I did not have COVID and prescribed the antibiotic Azithromycin. When I asked if I should go to urgent care, she said there was no need since I had already come to her office. However, not feeling confident in the rushed diagnosis, I went to urgent care afterward, where I tested positive for COVID and was prescribed an antiviral instead of an antibiotic. After the visit, I called the doctor’s office to request the doctor’s notes be sent to me. The office told me they would send them, but I never received them. Overall, I felt that my concerns were not addressed and that the care provided was rushed and dismissive. While I appreciate that the office accommodated me on short notice, this interaction did not meet my expectations for professional and compassionate medical care. I hope this feedback is only helpful for improving the experience of future patients, as I do not enjoy posting negative feedback.

David Brown 14 HOUR wait in emergency waiting area, doctor in charge of entire emergency wing had absolutely no idea what she was doing, dumped 7ccs of anesthetic straight into my arterial nerve felt like my whole arm was on fire for 20 minutes (at this point all medical practitioners present looked down at the floor and shuffled off). Nurses took turns doing 2 stitches each and all of them slipped on every single one. BILL WAS 5k FOR 6 STITCHES ON TOP OF HAND. Went back a year later for a double j stent removal and the head of Urology didnt know how to read an X-ray, it was upside down and backwards for 5 minutes, when corrected she was snarky and rude. NEGATIVE A BILLION STARS GET TREATED HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Ray Kuryla As a Navy Vet that needs to come here quite often for various things, I can truthfully say that the staff is so very courteous to and hard-working for us Vets. Also, its a very nice facility. For you Vets (and friends / family members of Vets) that havent been here yet but will be, you will love the views of San Francisco Bay, Ocean Beach, and Golden Gate Park from the hill on which the Hospital is located.

Camille D Now that many of you will be losing your jobs. Maybe you can start being kinder to patients and their families. KARMA, I don’t think UCSF residents and students call themselves doctors. Why most VA doctors are always on vacation☹️ You’re hospital is next on the chopping block. Go update your resumes. The joy ride is over dumbasses.

Jeric Wilhelmsen Recently moved to San Francisco and went about the process of transferring all my services from my previous VA facility at West LA. The process went very smooth. I called to schedule my orientation and initial visit with my new primary provider. I told my primary doctor of all the specialty clinics I attended and she provided referrals to them all. Within the next few days all my specialty clinics called to schedule appointments. I’ve been here three months now and have fully transferred all my services and seen all my clinics. Came in today for a follow up. Found parking easily in the lot. The gentleman at the info desk pointed me in the right direction. After my appointment I went to the cafeteria and got an omelette. The food was good and inexpensive. There is a great view from the dining room. It’s a nice facility. Afterwords one can take a nice nature walk with a great view of land end. All in all I’d say I’ve had a positive experience at the SF VA facilities. They’ve been very responsive and proactive to my needs. There are a couple less than motivated employees but very few.

Alan Tweed Arrived during Covid19 and the staff were helpful interviewing and since I was being admitted, I needed and got a Covid19 test. Negative thank you. Admission was extremely helpful walking me to the various sites that I needed to go to. The nurses that attended to me were fantastic. Always a positive attitude, even when faced with some extremely difficult patients. All my nursing staff were excellent in their jobs and were polite and funny carring out my needs. The Doctors were understanding and explained in ways that I understood what i was going through. The surgery staff was both friendly and supportive. I am very appreciative of the services that the staff of all the Veterans Hospitals and Clinics that I have been a patient. Thank you so much for all that you do and carring it out in a friendly and knowledgeable way.

C C “Montea” Just because its clean doesnt mean its great service, one particular doctor had a very jaded attitude, lots of Privacy Act violations and HIPAA laws violated with doctor sharing patient information and be heard across room, I do not recommend this place unless youre dying and have no other option. After reading other comments, it looks like the doctor medical staff have not learned a lesson ignoring patients and taking over 2 hours to address the patient. I was refused services, and the doctor kept trying to push a certain drug that I refused to take, I felt very unsafe at this hospital, I wonder how many patients have been abused, mistreated, disrespectful, belittled. Extremely unprofessional, hire doctors with experience and compassion.

Wilma The actual healthcare received was great, got assessed for a knee injury and received PT for it. All that was fine. Now when it comes to billing? Horrific service. Terrible and will never willingly go back, unless I suppose Im in an ambulance and have no choice. If you want to get an itemized bill to figure out what youre actually getting charged for, be prepared to wait a few months while you play phone tag, then they have to mail you a form that looks like its been Xeroxed from the 90s, you mail it back, then spend more time in limbo until they finally mail you your itemized bill. Now if you want to contest that bill for any reason, apparently you need a dispute form, that will probably be mailed to you in another month. At this point, youve likely passed the time where they will send your bill to collections, which will hit your credit score. EVEN IF you are attempting to dispute an incorrect charge, that has NO impact on them still sending your bill to collections. If you want to receive healthcare from this institution, you either better have health insurance from the gods, or be prepared to just close your eyes and pay whatever bill comes your way. An itemized bill doesnt seem like too much to ask, but oh my word apparently it is.

S S I want to say thank you to the first round of Dr and nurses before shift change happened and then a nightmare happened so after . I went in with abdominal serve pain I know I felt it . Well the second round nurse he wouldnt flush my IV before I could inform him I think my IV not working he walks out . I have no call button had a hard time getting out of bed because the pain was that bad . I go to CT scan again no one checks to see if Im alright or check me prior CT scan I notice all the flush fluid the CT people put it was coming out . I inform the CT scan guy hey I think it been like this for a few hours I tried to tell the nurse but he walk out before I could . He calls in a different nurse because I explain the issue I was having with that nurse he like okay well have the nurse fix it so they can see it been like this . Then I try to stop the nurse and explain he like were waiting for the CT scan he walks out before I finish talking . I get very upset waddle out the room asking for a Dr thinking hey they would help me . They would tell the nurse why hadnt he check my IV before giving medication why he didnt check my ER band to make sure and inform me what type of medicine I was getting . No the Dr gets mad at the patient and I hear her saying it just abdominal pain and started blaming me for DRug seeking !!! FYI I dont do drugs Im new mother to a 8 month old child !!! . It not just abdominal pain it was ovarian cyst. They take my IV had me paperwork tell me to leave . Without having my vital signs taken for over 3 hours . And no I was not drug seeking liar I was upset how your nurse was treating me and not listening to me . This is not how you treat people you dont assume the worse !! . This is what is wrong we with San francisco health system people who need help dont get it we get punished for having pain . No women should have there ovarian cyst it is very painful. They didnt explain to me how to treat it . I went in the next day because I was puking all night and couldnt keep the Tylenol down . When I went in the next day thanks to the Dr prior the one who discharged me without explaintion of what to do when I get home . I felt like now all the staff went to those comments . But there was no notes on how I was treated by the nurse about my IV coming out . They put vital before I left which was not my vitals this not okay I reported it to UCSf I even told UCSf if you dont believe ask the ct scan look at the cameras the another nurse did come in . No he never check my IV he never flush them before mediation went in no he didnt say what he was giving me . If youre in this profession I do respect the time you spend to help people . But if your just in it for money then quit because now Im too scared to go to the Drs because of how you treated me .

Mario Santacruz Yesterday my spouse and I went to get some labs at around 4pm. To our surprise, lab closes at 4pm. However, we went to admitting office to set up an appointment for the following day at 8am. In the middle of the process, the person doing the admitting ( I believe his name is James??) called the lab and to our surprise, this nice lady named Tasha accommodated after hours labs due my spouse. Mathew Dunbaugh I cant ask for more, except perhaps some withholding of judgement... But of course,...it could be me, the silence when I enter the place and say "hi" and get no reply ... Otherwise, the place is doing its job... Although I wonder what the official job title and description is (Of Veteran Case Managers or anyone assigned a potential influence over my fate) ...and what freedoms they are given to recommend a vet to, say, a place they know the vet wont fit in... ...we all know when someone bears you Ill will, and when its those assigned to your care, however minor, it Instills distrust in our institutions.

Jonathan Ellmann Seeing as I am here on a weekly basis I felt it only a must that i write a review. As you walk through the main double doors and come to the front desk you will be met with nothing but the utmost respect and decency. The men and women that take position here are lovely individuals who genuinely care about your health and well being. No matter if you are a regular or if you are on vacation or just on your way though, I can guarantee they will do there absolute best to help you in what ever you current issue or situation may be. If they are unable to solve your issue do not fret they will not shy away from making you aware that your issue is best suited for the actual VA Hospital which lay just up the hill. You can sit back and relax but dont get too comfortable the wait times are short and you will be in and out in a flash. Yet you can be confident you are getting the best possible care. Comparing to any other VA Clinicss or any VA affiliated medical facility this by far exceeded my expectations and has been such a gift to have in these past months.

bobby Joe VASH social workers are unfriendly and unhelpful, they lie a lot about veterans and seem in the business of hurting veterans rather than helping. if you go to this clinic make sure you go to records on 2nd floor of the main VAMC hospital (ft miley) at 4150 clement street and get a copy of your medical record from SF VA healthcare system because downtown clinic social workers are not advocating for veterans and write insults and destructive remarks in your "treatment notes" ("progress notes") before you go to too many workers at this clinic make sure you know what slander they are saying about you behind your back to suit their agenda the social workers for VASH, Ilya Weber is especially toxic and rather than help will hurt you. do not trust him and Adriana seems nice and friendly by appearances, but trusting her leads to being stabbed in the back

Sally Yong We were visiting SFO and my husband fell ill unfortunately. The hotel put us to the clinic. Called at 11am and managed to get an appointment with Dr Savage at 1pm. We were attended to and triaged by the nurse who was very warm and friendly. Waited about an hour before we saw the doctor, believe he was out for another consultation. Anyhow, Dr Savage was thorough and informative about my husband’s condition and gave some good and useful advice and tips to manage and prevent sinus-related problems, and even dishing out some sound advice on parenting :) quite a funny guy! Fees including medicine is not cheap compared to home, probably 5x more, but this is America, healthcare is not cheap and accessible especially for non-residents. All good though, we get peace of mind with a good consultation and meds. Would recommend his clinic.

Lauren K Ill give 2 stars because the manager finally decided to work with me, but still frustrated. Dr. Savage while friendly will talk about a lot of nonsense that when sick and exhausted is not what I wanted, however, I did get the antibiotic I needed in order to get better before flying home. For months Ive been back and forth with insurance, beware this is a regular doctors office, NOT urgent care. I did not realize I needed authorization from my PCP before being seen. The office took my $40 copay and didnt say a thing. Several months later I get a bill for nearly $200 and my insurance wont cover it now because its past 90 days. Ive tried calling to talk to a manager at Traveler Medical Group, finally after 3 or 4 tries I talk to the manager who tells me to call my PCP and ask for a letter of authorization and I told her its too late but she insists on it. I call my PCPs office and they say the same thing that its past the 90 days and its too late the system wont allow them to. Almost a year later I finally worked out a deal on the bill, but SO much time and energy was wasted. Please make sure you call your insurance company to confirm coverage or what you need to be covered because this office wont tell you otherwise.

Roberto Tiscareno I cant tell you how many times Dr. Savage has literally saved my life over the 15 years Ive been his patient. The very first time I saw Dr. Savage was to treat a sinus infection in 2005. One the time I ripped open my knee after a scooter accident he stayed open late to clean me up and called St. Marys ER for me. Ive literally watched his kids grow up in that office. And when my insurance wasnt covered by his practice, I gladly paid out of pocket because I trust the work he and his team does. Thank you Dr. Savage!

Jim Dzúr Dr Savage is my regular primary care physician. Recently, I had a problem with my ear that required a specialist referral. My ear was giving me hell and I was going nuts and could not sleep. I called Dr. Savage at 4:45 AM just to leave a message in order for them to get back to me in the morning when they check their voicemail. Dr Savage returned my call immediately at 4:46 AM. You are not gonna find very many primary care, physicians who will answer your call in the middle of the night, but Jim Savage MD will.

An Adverb Dr. Savage has been my personal physician for nearly 20 years. He’s always been able to “squeeze” me in on short notice, and he’s one of those rare doctors who makes it a point to really know his patients. Even more, his priority is to provide you with immediate relief from whatever ails you. Whether it’s the flu or a strained back, Dr. Savage listens carefully and administers a healthy dose of empathy and medical knowledge. Sometimes you don’t even have to tell him what’s bothering you—like the time I was experiencing vertigo and he was able to determine that just by looking at me. He did an exam and determined that I had a sinus infection. One round of antibiotics later and I was right as rain. In the old days, doctors made house calls because in order to make a sound diagnosis they needed to see how their patients lived. Meaning, to be an effective physician, you have to really know your patients. Dr. Savage understands this like no other physician. Many thanks to you and your wonderful staff for many years of great care, Dr. Savage!
