Dawn Trygstad We are blessed and grateful to have this gem at the heart of our community. Our rural clinic does an excellent job of providing primary care, mental health therapy, dental care and the unusual excellent benefit of acupuncture. Everyone there cares about the patients with kindness. Even upon walking in for the first time it’s obvious how well run it is because the employees at all levels are happy health care providers.

Anthony Novelli All good except finding out our primary care doctor left the network and we weren’t informed. When it takes 6-9 months to schedule to establish with a new doc this is a real pain and not creating a transition process for existing patients is insensitive.

Tim Gallatti The staff and doctor were excellent, my only issue was the office made a point to let me know the consequences for missed or late visits which I fully agree with. My time is just as important, especially after driving 3 hours to be there, and then to be made to wait an hour over my actual appointment time was a bit ridiculous.

Heidi Valle The phone number only works if you dial 2 after the played message. The message says dial 1 for scheduling, which leads you to Dr.Perskeys office. Dial 2 for eye doctors office. Other than that, this place is great! Ive seen a few eye doctors in this office. They are all great doctors. I have Graves Disease and I have a chance of T.E.D. with eye bulging, so I am seen quite often. They are patient and always answer all my questions.

Ashlee Doctors are pretty good with helping figure things out and getting referrals out. Had issues with them prescribing meds, ex. Not having it be covered by my insurance or not prescribing the correct quantity of meds and hard to reach to correct it..can take days if at all

My appointment was yesterday at 3 PM the referral group called me at 9 AM this morning. In addition she went beyond my knee injury to make sure I was up to date with other lab work.

Sunchera Garten Here waiting 2 hours for a doctor. We called 911 and we still haven’t seen them. We saw a nurse who said my daughter lodging a piece of plastic in her nose wasn’t an emergency. Longest wait ever for emergency service. Doctor did good and got us out though.

Maryann Lillo My appt was at 10am. They weighed me and did blood pressure. The assistant said nurse was running a little late. I heard nothing else. At 11am I left. I had to go back because I left my prescription in the room. When I went back to get my prescriptions, the receptionist asked if I rescheduled. Why would I reschedule. I made my appt. I told the receptionist I would cancel surgery. This is not professional service. I expect more from medical services.

Cathiemarie Fling The Medical Care provided by the VA Health Care Department is superb. It is the best benefit an honorably discharged or disabled veteran gets for their time in the military. So much better then medicare or medicaid. They will provide the best medical care its possible to get any where and if they cant, they will find out who can and send you there. Im glad Im a vet whos got full VA Medical coverage and wish every one in the USA had access to this kind of medical care.

Lovely caring folks that are now without a primary Doctor. Its pretty expensive to be left with the local hospital ER that we are very greatful for even so the preferred is using the local clinic. I think we need more here now for all the military use.

Shirley Kleim I needed to have x-rays taken at the Pavilion. The staff at the desk were very pleasant and the check in process went very smoothly. I waited approximately 10 minutes and was called back to have the x-rays done. The technicians were very pleasant and took their time to help me complete the procedure. The ER is the same as is the main hospital that I have been in several times. Thank You to ALL of You for taking care of US in Ukiah!!❤️

Baas Lacy (Rainy143) Great staff! Unfortunately the chairs in the waiting room next to radiology are very uncomfortable I was there for a few hours and my butt was going numb from sitting on them. Other than that everything was great the hospital is clean tidy! And the stuff is very welcoming.

Wanda Nursing staff is excellent, very disappointed in DrToo Imperato. Saw him once when he wanted to discharge me and i said i wasnt ready.i felt he was not professional. Come time to discharge I was out in 10 minutes. No discharged papers or information. Came home feeling no better than i went in.

Hayde Lopez The experience was fine at the day of service. Prior to my appointment I received a call demanding I pay my full deductible plus the cost of service at my appointment. It was made to seem as if I had to pay $2,200+ or the minimum of 25% which was $560+. After the fact I called billing and she cleared up the wrong information provided to me and how the previous person who called me was in the wrong for demanding I pay up front.

Pat Howard Everyone in this office is courteous. We love Dr. Powers. She gets right on the floor with our Golden Retriever and examines her. Our dog is not traumatized at all. We bring our cats here as well. They understood euthanizing our old kitty was very emotional for me. They did their best to make me feel comfortable and cared for during this process.

S L I have had two cats spayed (about to be 3) at the hospital and the caring attitude, helpfulness and kindness of the staff is exceptional. They are super professional and very careful with the animals they handle. I have full confidence in the knowledge and skill of their veterinary staff and I highly recommend them. Also, their prices are excellent.

Bri Derveaux I highly recommend for rodents, especially rats! Mendocino Animal Hospital and staff took excellent care of my rat! He had a couple of tumors that needed to be removed. Carlie was super informative and able to get him into an urgent care appointment right away. Christina made a swift and friendly exam and provided an itemized treatment plan and gave me clear expectations for the surgery appointment. They were able to get him in for surgery the next week where Dr. Tara Venezio did a wonderful job taking care of my baby removing his tumors and educating me on proper after care. As soon as he came home from surgery he perked up and has been so happy to have the giant lump off his chest! He was a little stressed at first, but now that he understands the tumors are gone he seems happy to have gone to the vet. I think overall it was a good experience for him. And Im so grateful to the staff for being patient! Vet bills arent cheap, but overall the cost for initial exam and surgery were pretty reasonable and I didnt have to break my wallet. I will definitely be bringing my rat back to this clinic for any future health concerns and look forward to bringing him in for his follow up visit. Thank you so much everyone!

Diane I took my two 10 month old cats to Dr. Venesio. The appointment went very smoothly. Everyone in the office was kind and helpful.

Francesca Defatte The Dr was very nice and helpful. She explained the results of my MRI and XRay. Referred me to a specialist. I later found out that because of the type insurance I have. I did not need to have a referral. It was the Dr office and Adventist healths system that does. This resulted in a two week delay in gettin an appointment.

Tamah McQueen Because I had symptoms of sore throat, fever, congestion, etc. in the last 14 days, I was told I had to sit outside! I was NOT symptomatic at my appointment and was NOT offered a mask. I was directed to one of 2 chairs that were outside the office door. It was a cold day and I did not have a coat. It was miserable sitting outside. My appointment was at 4pm and it finished at 5:45pm. I spent over an hour and a half waiting. At one point I went into the area where the staff was and asked if I had been forgotten. I have had great care at this facility in the past. This apppintment was awful!

Lily Ricardi The doctor was awful—the nurse was Fabulous. I had a terrible pain on the base of my skull. It made it difficult to swallow and hurt my ear so I thought it might be an infection. I had it for two weeks going on three. The doctor just wanted to give me something for pain. Didn’t have any idea of what it could be. The nurse asked if I ever had shingles. And then it dawned on me that that is what I have. I had my shingrex four years ago. When I did get shingles, I had it on my trunk and I never broke out. It was the nerve type. There is a name for that type of shingles. It is just as debilitating as it is so Painful. That doc needs to go back to school.and Also needs to speak up. I could barely hear him. I will never go back to the hospital again. I’ll go somewhere else if I need Emergency Care.

Jillian Jones This lab is FANTASTIC! Both times I’ve come here start to finish everyone is kind, friendly and FAST! I’m a wheelchair user and can go in without my caregiver knowing without asking staff steps in to open doors and assist me every step of the way, again without me even asking for help. The check in desk people are so kind, and lovely they set a very nice tone that is continued throughout the experience. When you’re really sick having such friendly happy people genuinely welcome you feels so huge. At the lab I never wait more than a few minutes to be taken back and they are very talented and efficient. I’m notoriously impossible to get labs on due to a rare illness and they were able to listen to my needs, and assess me well enough to get my blood draw first time which for me is unheard of. They have also been very helpful and great with ADA access for me start to finish as well. It’s such a relief to know I have such a great lab to go to!

Tracy L. Carnahan I spent 10+ years at Hillside. I even moved away and came back then moved away and tried another doc for a whole year. I still came back and drove the 3 hr. round trip to see my doc. Sarah Alvord there. Im what is called a complicated patient meaning Im very sick with a couple here serious issues. I never had to wait long and had the number for her nurse if anything went wrong. I cant do the trip anymore or Id still be there. I have never seen such good service and wonderful docs from a county med. center.

S L Hillside Health Clinics are such a gift to our Mendocino Community. They offer excellent care by dedicated doctors and nurses as well as their support staff. I have never had a bad experience at Hillside Health, and I would recommend them to anyone who would appreciate excellent healthcare by people who are concerned for their patients’ welfare. They are especially helpful to our low income community as well.

Christina The Dental assistant was very nice and put me at ease. I dont remember her name, but she said there were two of them with same first name. Dr. Nguyens assistant. ( Of course, Dr. Nguyen was also wonderful).

Andrea Lippincott Brought my dog in 4 days ago for a neuter. They tell me he has a descendent testicle. Mind you this dog has NEVER been an aggressive dog he’s a big love. They pinned him down to check for his other testicle and kept doing it for about 5 minutes. He tried attacking everyone in the room. We are now in Santa Rosa 4 days later he can’t eat and is drinking excessive amount of water. In a ton of pain in his abdominal area. I wouldn’t bring my dead pet fish there if my life depended on it. HORRIBLE PLACE. And he said he would go ahead and take out the one testicle that he could see. WHO DOES THAT? $2,100 later the VCA saved my dogs life. And we have to go back for a bunch of testing again. The vet in Ukiah obviously didn’t do a thorough exam like they said they did. We was literally dying and probably wouldn’t have made it another couple of days. It was an easy find if they would do their job right. There isn’t any records to be transferred. Because I won’t be going back to your low grade vet. I’m almost 8k in the hole now over you guys absolutely not caring. We were at your place for not even an hour. So what kind of records do you have?

Bonnie Riley We had our recently-acquired rescue spayed here and they were wonderful, including with all our follow-up questions. Then most recently, our dog became suddenly ill. They got her in right away, ran diagnostics and got her on the road to recovery. When considering a plan of care, they discussed options and included the financial aspect, as well. Fortunately, I had the forethought to get pet insurance, but I still appreciated the discussion. The staff was kind and caring, and we think theyre terrific. I will add that we live over an hours drive from them and they are not our regular vet, but our normal office is so booked up, short-staffed, and busy, that Ukiah Vet has become our backup. if we didnt live so far away, they would definitely be our vet of choice.

Lawretta Dawkins I bought my dog here about 2 weeks ago when I discovered she had an ear infection. My regular vet was full and I had called a few places before this one that was all booked up(some until july) but they were really nice and had an opening. At the appointment everyone from the receptionist to the Dr was so kind, patient and gentle with my dog (who is a giant baby, unfortunately because of covid I wasnt able to socialize her like I should have so shes very fearful of new surroundings and people). Along with the ear infection issue I asked for the Dr to clips her nails and express her anal glands. Her nails were actually a lot shorter than I realized so the Dr said she didnt need, it would be unfair to charge for clipping maybe one nail so he didnt do it. Which I really appreciate because I see that her really cares and not just in it for the money. Overall great place and will definitely come back if I ever need to.

Krista Monk The only reason I go there is because I have a rabbit and no other vet around will treat a rabbit. I feel like he price gouges when Ive had a 75 lb dog cost me less to spay out-of-pocket no snap certificate. The rabbit belongs to my daughter therefore Im going to try and save him the best I can but he had abscesses on his ear and it cost me over $1,000 just to end with an amputated ear and my rabbit was the first one he had ever done it to. Im happy and grateful he help me out in saving my rabbits life but the prices are ridiculous especially for a first. I was quoted one price and charged a whole different one. Not cool

Shelby “Shelolly” I had a pretty good experience. I called at 8 am for a same day appointment. I made the same day appointment with staff and was in and out of the office in 45 minutes. All staff were really nice and helpful. No complaints.

Villanelle Vondemon I had an appointment with my dr Pam Difranco this day in October. She said don’t miss it, it’s important, we’re going over your test results. She never showed up and no one even called to reschedule. I’m very upset and angry about this. Plus the nurse had no idea why I was there and threatened me with putting something negative in my chart. So rude and unpleasant and unprofessional, all around. No one there cared at all and no one apologized. Not happy guys, not at all. I’ve had so many horrible experiences with Adventist health over the past 20 years it’s ridiculous. I’m tired of this attitude toward me as I go out of my way to polite, friendly, and make it a short visit.

Alberto Zaragoza MCHC is always great. This recent visit i went to the Willits site and the staff was great. Jackie was the physician who attended me and Jessie the LVN was awesome too. I switched over my whole family from Adventist. I will be establishing care with Hillside from now on. They always go above and beyond especially for same day appointments.

Shannon Meeks I highly recommend Dr. Caleb. Dr. Caleb was kind and informative, 2 thumbs up. The ladies up front and the dental assistants were professional, very knowledgeable and kind.

Aly Hughes When I had my second baby Seema was the Dr who I went to and it was a high risk pregnancy. In the delivery room I was left alone pushing by myself and Seema didnt come in the room till I was fully dialated. There was no nurse helping me through my breathing. I wish I never went to Seema. I felt like she didnt care. My son had complications and had to be sent off to UCSF. I truly believe if someone was there helping me through the breathing and pushing my son wouldnt have had complications. Seema is the worst delivery Dr in my opinion and a high risk Pregnancy Dr at that. I felt so alone and scared.

Kayla Griffanti-Bowers She was great with my first pregnancy with her. Recently went through a misscarriage and didnt get the care I should have received. She didnt tell me my options, allowed me to go home and wait with no information on what to expect or what to do considering how far along I was. I had a follow-up appointment that needed to be rescheduled and the staff told me to call back if I needed them and didnt reschedule an appointment. Hopefully no one else has to go through an experience like this.

Jenness Hartley Dr Nayak was amazing! She took incredible care of me and my baby. We ended up needing a c-section, and Nayak performed the surgery like a badass and my scar is beautiful. She is a gem and ukiah is lucky to have her!

courtney glass Dr nayak is amazing. Her bedside manor is remarkable and she made me feel very comfortable. She was my ob with my son and she literally saved his life. I was in bed rest from 11 weeks until birth at 36 weeks. She dis everything she could and was very on top of it. I just recently had her with my daughter who is 4 months old and same thing she was awesome! I had gallstones from 24 wks on she took great care of me and met me at the hospital any time I need was just a phone call away. At my my delivery I hemorrhaged due to a tear on my cervix and she had to take me into the operating room and she did so quickly and efficiently making me feel very comfortable. She is a great dr and I would recommend her to anyone!

Jasmine Johnson Dr. Nayak is absolutely amazing! She caring, thoughtful, and explains everything. I had a very complicated pregnancy that Dr. Nayak delivered my last baby. She has been hands down the best OB/GYN I have ever had. 10/10 recommend.

Garrett Williams Dr. Ploss and his staff were beyond all expectations helpful, alert, calming, and clear about my options through an ablation operation and a short time after installation of a pacemaker, which he did himself. It was necessary on very short notice as I was moving and he made that happen. I am very grateful to have had him as my doctor. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating in 1987. He completed a residency in internal medicine at University of California San Francisco followed by a fellowship in cardiology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. He then completed a second fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to joining the Adventist Heart Institute, Dr. Ploss grew the Pacific Heart Group to become the largest cardiology practice in Humboldt County.
