David Quilantan Receptionist are rude and they keep you on hold for their convenience. I was called for an appointment by Open door because I was in emergency for my heart condition. I wasnt able to make it to my appointment however I asked them if they would be willing to make an appointment for me supposedly there was an appointment come to find out they never made one for me like they said they would have. With this place really needs is to record their phone calls. Im tired that my physical needs are not being met at this place theyre being taken lightly. They need to train these people. If you ask for a supervisor they should just transfer you over to a supervisor to speak with them not just hang up on you. I hope things get better at this place. Bad enough we really need good doctors and nurses here in this area. People who actually care about your health not just about the money theyre making.

Stephan St. Claire-Méfret Located in a beautiful location, off the waterfront trails. Clean. Wonderful staff from receptionists to nurses and other health professionals. Its organized by what they refer to as " pods", aka, waiting areas for your specific conditions. Its organized. The workers seem to take pride in their work and the doctors are dedicated. I recommend it, for pediatrics to general medicine, getting blood tests, and more. You can take a nice walk while you wait. Plenty of parking. Specifically for cars with children. I recommend it.

Sarah Pettit My son has been dealing with some pretty serious health concerns and everyone has been so amazing. Dr. Byrd is going above and beyond to find answers and is so patient with my little guy. The phlebotomists in the lab have been absolutely amazing, supportive and kind to my son while having his blood drawn. They make sure to thoroughly explain what they are going to do as well as talk him through the entire thing. I cannot praise everyone enough for their support and making things go smoothly.

Zachary Cochran Every damn month, I have to call these people up to request my medications be refilled, and EVERY DAMN MONTH, SOMETHING GOES WRONG. Ill inevitably end up having to call the pharmacy and see which medications they missed this time, then call back Open Door, tell them what they messed up, and hope that they fix their mistakes before I start violently throwing up stomach acid. I dont understand why its so difficult for them to just call in the medication, but they make my life way harder than it needs to be every single month, and if we had any better options for medical care in Humboldt, Id switch doctors in a heartbeat.

Shay Konradsdottir Providers are amazing, but their teams/administration have been poor. Im a type 1 diabetic, and require various prescriptions to keep me alive (insulin, glucagon) and functioning (technology, pump supplies). Although the appointments themselves are remarkable in the examination rooms, the prescriptions are failing to be filled, the suppliers are not receiving requested information, and this goes on for over a year at a time. I was without sensors for my final academic year because of this office refusing to check a box on a faxed form. I highly suggest anyone seeking diabetic healthcare to seek providers outside of the area. If you live in the area, dont leave their clinic until they hand you a paper prescription to bring to the pharmacy. Furthermore, I have been lied to over the phone and been given false information multiple times (such as phone numbers that dont exist). It shouldnt be hard to be transparent and honest with your customers. Ive read other peoples comments on this clinic and agree that there is an attitude problem with administration. Some of the medical receptionists roll their eyes and can become very demanding and intimidating, but I dont think thats worth such a negative review. I do think the lack of Health & Wellness the company supposedly provides is the bigger problem,

Michelle Kelly I went to this place cause I was having trouble breathing. Then they tried to charge me close to $8000 after they did virtually nothing. And before anyone says "thats just how much medical stuff costs" - no its not. They tried to charge over $1000 for a simple urinalysis. These people do not care and while I was waiting the 5 hour wait, I saw them be incredibly rude to several people. One staff member got pissy with someone who was literally holding a towel to his head to stop bleeding.

RIchard Gillen Ive had to take my wife to the hospital several times for extreme constipation, difficulty breathing and a bad cold and they do nothing for her even when shes coughing up green phlem. Were strongly considering filing a malpractice lawsuit.

Ladelle Tomson This is a horrible hospital and has been for years! I dont know why the community doesnt make a bigger deal about it! They have hurt people and let people dye and have help several find there addiction. There is a proper way if you have someone on addictive medication to ween them off of it before discharge. They have no clue what they are doing, one doctor does this another doctor comes and does a totally different thing! Get it together! I went to the ER today and I didnt even get taken back! They seen me and discharged me without looking into the problem at all! horror show! I seen them do it to patients worse off then me! No wonder nobody wants to get health care help!

John Thomas I went in for a colonoscopy procedure, a few days ago, and Ive got to say, that despite all of the anxiety that came with the anticipation of this procedure, the nurses, doctors, and staff, were very nice and did their jobs well, making the experience as comfortable and easy as possible. Sarah, Amanda, and the other nurses were very considerate and sincere about looking out for me during my brief time with them. Dr Trieu, and my anesthesiologist, Dr. Erez, both, took time to speak to me and ask if I had any questions. We were chatting in the operating room, and for a moment, I wondered when I would notice the anesthesia, then I woke up and I was done! Lots of anxiety and worry over not much! Sarah offered me various drinks and healthy snacks, but all I wanted was ice water. I was treated like royalty during my few hours at Providence St. Joseph Hospital.

David Howard In 40+ years here and raising a family. The local hospitals have been 100 % consistent. Every diagnosis has been incorrect. 100% of the time. They are not a hospital, they are a fraud. You cant get worse than 100% inaccurate. You are much better off going to any other hospital anywhere else. And by the way, they are just trained parrots.

Rachel I gave birth to my first child at this MRCH’s birth center and the staff took great care of us the entire duration of our stay. I had multiple complications that required an emergency cesarean birth. I felt all staff near me were attentive and I am sad this birth center is closing. In addition, I have had ultrasounds, X-rays and admission to the emergency room here over the years. There were sometimes long wait times ranging from 45 minutes to 2 1/2 hours, but the medical system in general is under strain and this has been a growing issue at all medical facilities. If I can, I always prefer to come to this hospital for anything I need done locally.

Becke Wright Arrived at the ER at 4am on Mon. 2/24 with pain. They did not listen to me AT ALL. Ran a uti test even though I clearly said multiple times I did not have a uti. Dr comes in my room says I dont have a uti. Im like yes, correct. They decided I could go now. And try taking a bath to help sooth my pains. Ive never been more gaslight by a group of doctors than I was this night. Lady nurse tells me, Im not swollen she doesnt see it. Mind you my typical boney feet are fully swollen with no ankles. I proceeded to see my doctor the next day and guess what everything they gaslight me with, I was correct. After running blood tests, they found my inflammation. I will not ever go back to mad river hospital, ER.

Mike Lempinen Got a surgical referral in Dec 2023, it took until March 2024 to have a surgical consult & X-ray. I lost count how many times I called, left messages or talked to Trish with no response. I have never received such a runaround, and empty promises. Months later, she passed the buck to someone named Melissa. I started leaving messages, and calling her. More runaround. I finally got a new referral in Nov 24 to UCSF. TODAY(Dec 5th, 24), Melissa calls me back LOL. I held my tongue, but understand that these folks have NO compassion, and youre more likely to receive follow up care from a fast food restaurant than these incompetent fools. Avoid at all costs, your condition will get worse before the games are over. SMH...Karma is what they say it is. I hope they find themselves in a situation like they have put me through. Only then might they understand.

John Lewis Im a resource parent and one of my children is really sick. We have been sitting in the waiting room for over 2 hrs. We are currently in the waiting room as my child sleeps on a terribly uncomfortable chair. I suspect Ill be here for a few more hours without being seen.were at 1 patient being taken back every hour. They clearly only have 1 doctor in the emergency room. He must be soooo busy. Or hear me out... they have several er doctors but help 1 patient an hour. I see I see. Will update as I wait. Kim Hoffmeyer Spent several hours waiting at Mad River Hospital to be seen for a possible allergic reaction to a medication. Finally got a room and chance to see a Dr. When Dr Lui walked into the room my heart sank and I knew I would be sorry for trying Mad River Hospital ER again! He was rude and would not listen to anything is said. When I explained to him what I had been experiencing and who I had talked to previously about my issue he interrupted told me to go back to them because he didnt see anything wrong with me. When I tried to tell him what I had been using for my illness he interrupted me and said "You dont need to tell me I know what it is." My toung was white, swollen and had sores that were very visible. He said he didnt see anything. When I questioned him about his reply he said he could only tell me what he sees and he didnt see anything. He insisted on checking my lungs, heart, and liver then said there youre fine there is nothing wrong with you you can go now. He dismissed everything I tried to say. He should no be practicing medicine. I will never recommend that ER to anyone as long as he is there. I only went there because its close by and it had been such along time since I used that ER that I had forgotten Dr Lui was the ER Dr. Never again!!! Edit 1. Went to my dentist with my sore dry mouth issue. He said my entire mouth was dry and said I needed to have blood work done because my symptoms were related to diabetes and sjogren disease. Sjogren disease is an autoimmune disease.
