4 /5 Jeniffer Morales: EDIT: Owner contacted me and offered to come in and have my hair fixed free of charge. I went in and after a several minutes of going over my hair, she brought in the specialist, Taylor. She came in and in seconds was able to address the issue and came up with a solution. To say that Taylor swooped in and saved the day would be an understatement. She took over and ensured that everything came out looking well. She was able to make the roots brown so the contrast between the black and blonde was less stark. Walked away happier for sure.
I sent a message to several salons in my area using Yelp. This salon was the first to respond and the lady I corresponded back and forth with via text was very prompt and nice. She was able to give me information and was in constant contact throughout the day to ensure I got my appointment scheduled and information on their website. Pretty smooth process. I arrived to the salon which was very nice and bright (parking in the back, first entrance on the right), looked clean and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I had Kayla as my stylist. My roots were grown out and I have very dark hair. Via text, I was quoted $200 for roots and highlights. Once I got there, Kayla said that was correct and I was willing to pay an extra $25 to have the bottom half of my hair lightened. I usually get partial highlights. I told her I wanted my roots light and she told me basically she does "natural" look. I went with it because I thought maybe something new wouldnt be too bad. She did say, of course, that for an extra charge, she could bleach my roots. I showed her pictures of kind of what I wanted and she started. Long story short, she mixed color 4 different times, I sat in the heater for about 20+ minutes ( 3 times for 6-8 minutes), laid in the bowl for another 20 as she put toner on my roots and finally got everything washed out. Needless to say, I was not happy. I thought it was because it was a drastic change from what I am used to but no, it just wasnt what I wanted at all. The filtered pictures look amazing, I do give her that. However, the next day you could really see what was done. I have white and yellow streaks, ashy blonde throughout and when I text her to ask her about the color, she never got back to me. All in all the salon is nice, Kayla herself is very nice but I think she is just used to doing one type of hair style and it was not what I wanted. I paid over $220 to have my roots look like they have grown out for a month and hair left feeling like straw. So it would seem that I paid that much money only to have highlights and a lighter color done to half my hair. Really disappointed.
