1 /5 Essential Heating and Air: ZERO STARS – CROOKED AND SCAMMING SHOP If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My wife took our Mercedes GL 450 in for a simple oil change and to check a coolant leak. What followed was a complete scam operation. First, they told her three hoses were leaking. The next day, that number magically jumped to nine. By the time she went to pick up the car, suddenly it was TEN hoses. Then they had the nerve to try and charge us $3,000 to replace them – without ever giving a proper, detailed diagnosis. Just vague nonsense like, “the hoses are leaking.” They clearly tried to take advantage of my wife, thinking she wouldn’t question it. No transparency, no breakdown of the supposed issues – just a $200 charge for a “diagnosis” that told us absolutely nothing we didn’t already know. And then $300 for a basic oil change? Outrageous. What makes this even worse – I have all the paperwork to back up everything I’m saying. Every contradiction, every unexplained charge, it’s all documented. This wasn’t a misunderstanding – this was a straight-up attempt to scam us. To Add to this the gentleman at the front, named Alan, had the audacity to tell my wife he was doing her a favor and going above and beyond for her — as if we weren’t paying for the service, as if we couldn’t set an appointment just like every other customer. Completely condescending and disrespectful. 0 training=0 stars!!!! This place is completely crooked. Predatory, dishonest, and shady as hell. No wonder the shop is always empty – how they’re still in business is beyond me. We picked up the car and walked away from this joke of a company. I WILL BE TAKING THIS TO THE BBB Avoid at all costs. Zero integrity, zero professionalism, and ZERO stars.

I love my older Mercedes and everyone at Autobahn Motors has done an exceptional job of serving it. Parts do were out and things do have to be replaced, I like that they only use Mercedes OEM parts. It has 254,000 miles and still running strong. Thank you to everyone at Autobahn Motors.

My sister brought her Mercedes to Autobahn Motors in Tracy for what should have been a routine oil change and a diagnostic test — both of which she had scheduled in advance with a confirmed appointment. Instead of being treated with professionalism, she was told she was being "squeezed in," as though the shop was doing her a favor. That tone set the stage for what turned into a deeply concerning ordeal. A service that should have taken a few hours ended up taking three full days — with no clear explanation. When she finally got the bill, she was charged over $500 for a diagnostic test, which they then refused to share the results of, claiming she might "take the information somewhere else." That’s outrageous. How can a business justify charging a customer for something and then withholding it? That is unethical, exploitative, and potentially illegal. Originally, she was told she needed three hoses replaced in her AC system. The next day, it became nine. By the time she was finally allowed to pick up her car, it had somehow turned into ten hoses. No transparency. No paperwork justifying the changes. No respect for the customer. It felt like a textbook case of taking advantage of a woman — something we unfortunately still see too often in auto repair shops. This experience was not just about the money — it was about being misled, disrespected, and denied the right to honest service. We will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and are seriously considering legal action regarding the withheld diagnostic report. Customers deserve better — especially women, who are far too often talked down to or manipulated in these settings. To anyone thinking of bringing their car to Autobahn Motors: proceed with caution. Ask for everything in writing. Don’t agree to anything without full documentation. And if youre a woman, bring someone with you or be ready to push back — because based on our experience, this place is not operating with honesty or fairness. We are formally requesting a refund for the diagnostic service that was never properly delivered, and we hope this review helps protect future customers from going through the same.

Crew and Manager KERN explained and took pictures of problems / parts discovered to be problematic. Will recommend to others and return to Autobahn motors, if needed, in the future.
