They’ve consistently taken great care of my car and I always leave feeling confident and well-informed. What really sets this shop apart is their honesty, something that’s hard to find these days. The entire team is friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful but I have to give a special shout out to Mike. He’s the absolute best. Mike goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are taken care of. He’s honest, knowledgeable, and you can tell he really cares. Highly recommend this place.

As a long time business owner and resident in Novato it is nice to know there is a trust worthy, despite GENDER, mechanic in town. Rob Schmidt Keith was knowledgeable and professional. He rebuilt my radiator with quality American parts for less than a cheap aftermarket, foreign replacement. His job re-coring my radiator was top notch and he provided excellent advice on other issues at no cost. Plus, hes a nice guy. Highly recommended for work on classic vehicles.

James B Wow, some of the best service Ive ever gotten from a mechanic. PRICE - Best in the county (and I called around) EXPERTISE - Car run smoother than ever before! HONESTY - They were able to fix up a part that wouldve cost an extra $300 to replace. They didnt have to go the extra mile, but they did. SERVICE - Every phone call was so kind and polite, both office and mechanic staff. Im going back here for all my car needs for sure. 100% would HIGHLY recommend for anyone in Marin county!

RJ Tony & Russell are both great at not only fixing whatever is wrong with the car but are great at pointing out things that are starting to deteriorate . They dont try to upsell and say you need to fix those things now and they tell you how much life expectancy all the different items have left, which is phenomenal for a car repair shop because mast car repair shops are notorious for trying to state you need to fix things now. Their pricing is also fair for the quality work they do.

IYM RETURN SOLUTIONS I have had the pleasure of working with Able Tire and Brake since 2022 when I first me their GM Jayme. I had a 2010 Subaru Legacy that had been well-maintained by a close friend for many years. When I purchased the car, I had it thoroughly checked out at the dealership where it had always been serviced since the prior owner purchased it. At the time, they had advised that the tires and wheels were in good shape. About a year later, we were driving one Sunday and noticed a strong vibration in the steering wheel. Northgate Automotive, where we service the car, suggested contacting Jayme over at Able Tire & Break, and Im so glad that I did because it was the beginning of a GREAT RELATIONSHIP SO FAR. They examined the car and advised that I needed new tires. Whoa, a RED FLAG went up as I had been informed earlier that year that the tires were fine. I asked to speak with the GM, Jayme, and he came over with a big smile and in a "VERY KIND" voice and politely asked (which is not often the case today as, Please and Thank You are frequently forgotten in business today), "How can I help you?" My reply was probably nowhere near as kind, not rude, but most likely Excited and Flustered. I asked, "Your advisor has informed me that I need four new tires, but just a few months ago, the dealership indicated that the tread depth is sufficient. Why do I need four new tires?" His reply was calm and made perfect sense. "You have a large blister on the inside of your back inner tire, causing the vibration, and youre lucky it didnt blow out on the freeway coming over here. Additionally, the tires are more than 5 years old and have large cracks, making them unsafe to drive on. Im a big advocate for "Trust but Verify," so I asked him to show me, and thats precisely what he did. Everything he told me was 100% correct, and my concern for being taken for a ride was no longer. My great experiences dont end there, but Ill keep them brief and let the results speak for themselves. On our second car, I also needed new tires, but this was due to wear and tear. It was discovered that two of the rims were bent. So Jayme got me a price for two new rims. When it came to ordering them, the vendor advised that they had made an error in the cost and couldnt honor the quoted price. Jayme suggested, Dont worry about it; Ill find you another pair at that price or as close to it as I can. Which is precisely what he did. When the pair arrived, they were not in the best condition, and he transformed them into as good as new. I just purchased two more rims from him that came in excellent condition. This time, I asked for pictures first, as they were already used. So if you want to know where to go for Tires and Brakes in Marin, Jayme over at Able Tire and Brake is the place to go, and you dont even need an appointment. They are located just across from the Chevrolet dealership in Novato on Redwood Highway. Thank you, Jayme.
