5 /5 Jim Mannoia: A truly remarkable community of diverse people with ministries across the spectrum. The Cliff Drive Day Care Center is a preschool that ministers to families and children in the community, the Goleta Church plant and the Westside Church plant both are evidence of the churchs heart for mission. The congregation is black and white and brown, rich and poor, young and old which is a pretty unusual thing especially in Santa Barbara. Some may not prefer the musical style that leans to contemporary, but efforts are made to include traditional hymns and some higher liturgical forms. There is no organ and no choir. There are three services and they are all well attended. The pastoral team is great including three women and two men. From a theological point of view the Wesleyan tradition is between the Catholic and the Protestants streams, and this particular church is plainly evangelical. That means they take the Bible and Jesus as central to everything about the Christian faith; which of course is the heart of the Gospel.
