5 /5 Brian Weber: The Pacific House Museum is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating glimpse into California’s history. The well preserved adobe structure transported me back to the early days of Monterey’s development. What I loved most about the museum was its well-curated exhibits, which showcase everything from the Native American cultures that first inhabited the region to Monterey’s role as California’s first capital. The displays are well organized, making it easy to follow the timeline of events and understand their significance.

5 /5 Bethany Staelens: The Pacific House museum does a credible job of telling the story of early Monterey, from the time before Spanish settlement through the time of heavy trading. The very best part of the museum, in my opinion, is the vast collection of Native tools, textiles and baskets on the second floor. I was the only one there, but the first floor wasnt terribly crowded either. If youre looking for something more to do than shop and eat, this place is worth a look. And its free, to boot.

5 /5 Jaya Gupta: I enjoyed the museum. It will take less than 30 minutes and kids liked it. There is nice seating area outside the museum where we our home brought lunch.

5 /5 Laurel Cocilo: Beautiful museum and gardens. Quiet place to get away from the crowds by the Wharf. Lots of benches to relax and enjoy the flowers.

5 /5 Kevin Wolff: It took me far too long to visit this museum. I would pass the building almost daily until I ventured in through the garden gate. I was pleasantly surprised by the garden and grounds behind the museum. What a peaceful place to slip away from the hustle and bustle of the wharf. The museum is very well done.
